So I thought I had found ROM nirvana with ver 5.1.2 of mattr_k's (and then continued by the loon) ROM kitchen based on the ingenetics build. I had everything set just the way I liked it with all the programs I wanted and none I didn't, lots of free memory, good response yadda yadda yadda... I figured I was good as far as flashing until I picked up a Kaiser in a month or three.
Then I bought a Tom Tom 720 as a GPS device. It uses bluetooth to transfer data to access the TomTom Plus services that include traffic. The problem is that it requires a DUN modem connection on the bluetooth. From what I have been able to gather, this was available on WM5, taken out in an AKU pack and then re-deployed with WM6, which is why I was surprised that the ROM I was running didn't have it.
I saw that mfrazzz's ROM v3 says that DUN is back, but the lite doesn;t have what I need and the full has stuff I don't want, so even though I know that he builds awesome ROMs I kind of got used to the personalized feel of using the kitchen to get just what I want.
Does anyone know of DUN is present in ver 5.2.5 of theloon's ROM, or if there is a easy way to add DUN capabilities to my current setup? I guess I could extract mfrazzz's ROM and take out what I don;t want and add what I need, but I am traveling on business this week and don;t have a lot of spare time and need my device to be up and running.
Thanks much in advance.

I found this posting by Meneisyys http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=2121&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 and I seem to be getting further along than before but I am not there yet, which I suspect is due to Tom Tom since it is asking me for wireless carrier data and giving me two cingular options as well as AT&T wireless.

Okay I think the meneisyys hack definitely worked since the 720 now says that it can use wireless data services, which it didn't before but none of the settings seem to work. It asks for a phone type and carrier. I have been trying the Qtek9100 since that is on the list and an equivalent to the 8125, but it also has a couple of MDA options as well. It gives me three carrier providers, AT&T, Cingular and Cingular media works. I have tried all three and no joy.
I also tried setting it up manually with the following settings but no love
access point: wap.cingular
username: wap@cingulargprs.com
password: cingular1
Auto DHCP
Auto DNS & Manual to 208.67.222.222 (open dns)
Dial *99# and *99****1#
login script +cgdcont=1,"ip","wap.cingular"
Any ideas on what these shoudl be or if I should be looking at the Tom Tom or the phone as the source of the problem?
Thanks!!!

Here is the perfect fix for your problem.
This is not my work I found it in this forum and credit should go to person who ever created this cab file.\
Now lets move on
install this cab and then do soft reset
now your tomtom should be able to pick-up dun connection from your PDA
now you can setup connection from your tomotom using cingular/att settings.

villaboy - Thanks for the tip but still no love from the Tom Tom after this. I also noticed that it does not seem to want to set up bluetooth phone capability or address book import now, just wireless data so not sure if this is a step forward or backward

If you want to cook it into your own rom, here's the package I created and used for XM6r3.

Thanks.. I may give theloon's newer version a shot. I was hoping to get the GPS working without having to cook and flash a new ROM. Oh well, if it was easy...

So I decided to give theloons 6.1 a shot and lo and behold I was able to get my TomTom 720 to play nice with my phone. Then I figured out the difference.
I always install registry wizard, make the reg changes I want, and then uninstall it. I may not be the most elegant, but it works for me. One of the tweaks I always check is, "always have GPRS connected on the 3rd tab"
This time I set up the GPS before I installed reg wizard. Once I installed Reg WIzard and enabled the tweak, the GPS stopped connecting so I started playing.
It turns out that if I have an active GPRS connection the TomTom will not connect. I always leave the GPRS connection active so I can get push mail from my work's exchange server. Does anyone know of a way that these two things can co-exist?
