Which I suspect have probably been asked before, but here goes;

1. Can I change the date format from short date to long date (ie from 09/11/2007 to 9th September 2007 or 9th Sep 2007), and

2. Can I change the weather update frequency ? Does anyone know how often it currently updates ?

To change date format - with a registry editor - goto hklm\nls\overrides - add new string value SSDte value ddd d MMM yy will give you 'Mon 7 Aug 07' for example - any longer and it will mess up apps like new appt etc..

As far as I can see, it only updates when you select the tab and it's data is over 2 hours old. If the tab is not selected, it does not appear to update in the background. I'm not sure what would happen if that was the tab that was permanently displayed.
At a guess I'd say then it would update after 2 hours at screen wake, or every 2 hours if screen was permanently on.
