Good point, a hifi stereo 30 seconds WAV is not a smart ringtone.
Another pitfall: lots of wav's, mid's, wma's and mp3's are made by amateurs who leave one or two seconds silence at the start of the clip...
I have the same problem with 2k6. Ringtown is small, no silence, and was nearly instant-ring with WM2k5. Still trying to find the problem. (at least 5/6 sec delay).
Problem was the same with 2k5 last year.
I will try to disable backlight timer (in backlight settings) and shutdown timer (advanced power settings). I think this was the solution for 2k5 to have instant ringing.
The only matter is to use power button to put the phone in standby.

I've been using this rom for several days. I run two Himalayas (one on WM2003SE and one on the New WM6Toflclock, may he rest in peace).

This rom, even for a first release, is awesome. For me, I can't tell much speed difference except with a few applications, and even then it is just opening them. They are smooth running when opened.

I haven't tested the phone side of things in the new rom (No Sim atm) though everything I have tested works extrememly well. (No problems yet).

And if performance is an issue, there is a built in program for overclocking the Hima (520mhz or 624mhz, though it probably isn't advisable).

I am definitely more productive with the new rom.

And to Tofclock, I didn't know you, but from all the praise from all the people on this site, it is a shame I never got to. You have my respect and praise.

This Program doesn't support the Himalaya device.

The looks say nothing, please go to settings>system>device information>identity

If model.no is PH10A or PH10B, go ahead, pick one of the Himalaya WM6 roms from the sticky posts, read the instructions, burn, enjoy.

If it's not either one of these two model numbers, forget it. No WM6 available

No problem, just replug and restart the burning process. This doesn't work if you were burning a bootloader... but who burns bootloaders nowadays?

Well, you can flash it only that way, anyway :D It's called HimaUpdateUtility. Take a version without checking operator, called HimaUpgradeUt_noID.exe. You will have to enter BL in order to flash it (Power+OK+Reset).

Well, my programs stay active in the first plan... Maybe you have switched on some function for that...
Are you using BatteryStatus? It has such an option (to always show Today after waking up).

I've used TofClock rom for about 1 month...
Then, tried Schecar for 1 week.

Definitly I'm returning to TofClock because it was easy to setup, had no freeze moments and is clean with no or few apps... as I like.

due to some activesync issues, i tried to reinstall the OS.
after around 55%, i got an error:
Error112:CE ROM UPdate Error
there has been a prob updating your ppc sofware.
to continue update, please:
1 disconnnect ppc and usb cradle.
2 perform normal reset (read as soft reset)\
3 reconnect your ppc and usb cradle and run the ppc software update program again.....

But my PPC SCreen shows: 80% upgrade completed
i did a reset, now i hv the soft boot screen with:

G 1337.18
D 6.00

re-installing now....

Hi, installed this ROM a while back and it works great! Kudos to the cooker.

I'm trying to find some SMS backup software for WM6 though. Tried the dopod SMS Backup (which won't install on this ROM) and Jeyo Backup SMS/MMS (which says "backing up" but doesn't actually do anything.). I already use SPB Backup but that only gives me entire images of my device (i know you can backup PIM but restoring between different device OS versions often corrupts the new PIM) and "Contacts Backup" works superbly but it doesn't include an SMS backup feature.

Is anyone using a decent SMS backup app on this ROM and if so, can you link to a cab file please?

EDIT: Found an app called PPC PIM Backup here ('http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299705'). It's basically "contacts backup." with SMS backup added in. Also has a backup scheduler which is very nifty and it runs fine on this ROM.

The only prob i have with it is that it takes FOREVER to restore backed up SMS data (by that i mean my 6-700 SMS messages) however contact, appt and task restoration is extremely quick. It's a good app and works as advertised.

Will post again if any issues come up.

As for the app you found, it looks okay but it's shareware. The one i found (PPC PIM Backup) is freeware. Hence the reason i linked to it instead of something like SPB Backup which users have to pay for.

This is bug in tom tom, you can find the the tom tom exe file in this forum to replace the original files, and everything will be okay. Use search facility

Did someone encountered this issue?

Sometimes, when I have to soft reset the device, after uninstalling a soft for example, the boot sequence freezes on the Tofclock splash screen. I have to hard reset the device to get it working again.
Installed SPB Backup and back up my datas, but when I restore, during the reboot, the same problem occurs.

Any idea?

Did you do the following ?

1. Put component of the map in one folder and put the folder in the root of storage card
2. change preferences > manage maps >
..... and you find your folder of maps there :)

If you do so.. may be your map is not suitable for that version :)

dishaka, I still can not understand that maps in the same version of tom tom ( the same platform 6) can not be read each other. The other possibility is the file which you used for overwriting the original files is not suitable so there is somehing missing when you operate it. As I know the avalaible exe in this forum is version 6.0.0

If this is the case, you must edit the registry of the tom tom exe by your self. The bug of this exe is known very well i.e the registry "B a c k l i g h t". You have to change it by your self. For the precise information how to change it you can find in this forum too, use search fascility as usual :)

Good luck, may be after you change the exe file, you can post the modification file in here so you can help others member :)

I found Radio version is 1.08.00 after flashing TOFCLOCK HIMA WM6 AKU.0.7.0. Is it correct? or the version should be 1.17 or later ? How to update ? or leave it alone.

Radio rom is separate file, you can chose to install radio rom or not.

To flash a radio stack, just put your Radio_.nbf file alone with HimaUpgradeUtility and run it. Remember to not to have nk.nbf in this directory!

can anyone confirm the lose of all RAMDisk contents if the battery is fully drained ? .. I installed my programs to the RAMdisk and after leaving the device for 2 weeks it powered up with only programs that were installed to the Storage memory

Fully confirmed. RAM always needs refresh cycles. Has always been that way and will stay so until flash ROM has fully replaced all RAM in our future devices.

Your PC RAM is also empty, even after a simple reset, isn't it?

sure! ... I always keep a backup for the last stable configuration. The point is that the Hima is not my main device so it's always left for long times in my drawer till I 'm playing with a new WM6 ROM on the UNI device :)

ok i was a big fan of C-Shekars ROMS, but i think this time credit is due to Helmi's awesome effort.
i have have used this ROM now for a month, after having tries CS's, Syed's and a bunch of other.
The missing parts are the best thing about this ROM, i like to have my hima personalized to my likings. I have added Office 2007, Piscelbrowser, and the awesome awesome PointUI Home, which i cannot believe how i ever lived without for so long.
even though touchFLo works on the base ROM, PointUI is better.
the BT sync works on this ROM, which i had a problem with in CS'es ROM, Syed's ROM has some perrenial TextMessage problem, and i could NEVER get my dialup networking to work in any other ROMs but this one.
my hima is ACTUALLY faster now with this ver 6 than it was with ver 5.
very very very high praises to you my friend.

You write messages both in the Wizard and Himalaya areas. No problem if you own both devices, but if you have just one XDA, it's very wise not to try flashing a ROM before you're positively sure which one you own.

ROM is another kind of chip than RAM, the only way to achieve that is by redesigning the hardware

in wm05/06 sometimes the application installed automatically into device memmory nomatter ramdisk or storage card that you choose, in this case you should sacriface you disk on chip to get more memmory by using extrom unlocker.

There is no version of WM5 or 6 available for 2020i and there probably never will be.
BTW I do advice you, next time you visit a forum, first browse it so that you know that you're in the right section. 2020i is known here as Alpine and has its own section here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=249 to clearly seperate it from Himalaya. In that section your question has been asked and answered over and over again

Regarding the bluetooth stack included in this ROM (microsoft stack), i've got a headset paired up and can route voice calls to it perfectly.

However i'm looking for a way to route ALL audio, including mp3 audio from TCPMP, to the headset. I've tried VJvolubilis and bluemusic but all they do is start playing static from the headset while the audio still plays thru the hima speaker.

Has anyone got a way that works to route audio to a Bluetooth handsfree headset? I'm going out of my mind trying to figure this out. I tried installing helmi's broadcom stack but that didn't route ANY audio, including telephone calls so i've hard-resetted and am back to the stock ROM BT stack.

The bluetooth headset i'm using is the Apple Bluetooth Headset (on apple.com)

its not tat hard..search for a program by Dr.Yar..it routes every inch of sound from your ppc to Bt headset or any compatiable acessories

As far as i can see, Dr Yar's bluetooth is an app to send and recieve text and files. Nothing else.

What about your ROMs syed, does the BT stack in your ROM route all audio to a single-earphone headset or just phone calls?

When I upgrade WM 2003 to WM 6 with TOFCLOCK HIMA WM6 AKU.0.7.0. the download process is disconnected. Now, my XDA II is stuck on splash screen and I can't connect my XDA II to Active Sync. :(

I've 3 different himalayas and with two of them I can flash this very very good rom, but with the 3rd one when flashing the process sticks on 95 %, and after 1-2 minutes showing 95% the flashing tool stops by itself...
Any ideas of what happens & how to fix it ??
Off course, it isn't the rom, because I'm able of flashing other devices...

Thanks, but it is not usable solution to my problem! It allows only the original power indicator changes (clock or battery - this is the registry hack*), not the PLUS battery icon on the center of title bar in this ROM!

I can't figure it, how to disable this 2nd icon! I not use this, 'couse Batti handle the battery infos, or the SPB plus also show me the battery status on today!

To show nothing:

No, it's not the batti icon! It was there before i install batti! I guess this icon is some extra function in this ROM, but i not believe that isn't any way to remove from taskbar!:mad:

When i upgrade my hima with this rom, all along this icon is in taskbar. I attached a picture, that shows both two battery icon! When i apply the registry hack showed above, this happens!

I disable batti, so not this app make this plus icon!
So when i disable the taskbar clock, i become TWO battery icon in taskbar!!!

I want to remove the 2nd (see picture)!

I was a jerk! This extra icon generated by the SPB Pocket Plus! (called: Taskbar Battery Indicator!!!) :eek: I was blind! :o I look all around in the phone's settings, when i pick upon this option in this program's today plugin settings! So it's really a 3rd party! Sorry!

Does anybody have a working Blackberry Connect on this ROM Version TOFCLOCK HIMA WM6 AKU.0.7.0, have tried other posts and various bbconnect versions but always get the same issue where the software says it is "not connected" after it states that i have a "data tunnel available"
I use BES not BIS and i do have a data plan for blackberry as was using my sim card in a Blackberry Pearl.

"serial" means you've not yet established USB connection.
So:
1- use Windows XP, not Vista
2- use Activesync 4.5, not an older version
3- make the activesync connection
bootloader message should change from "serial" to "usb"
now run ROM upgrade utility.

Did u folow the steps exctly.
If no, simply folow it.
If yes, then the problem that you have PC with vista. If u cann't upgrade with winxp pc then folow this steps

I installed the T O clock build about 6 months back and it worked fien for 2-3 months.after that my qtek is not recognised on connecting the cable- I chanegd the cable, but that has not helped. The phoen gets charged, but it is not recognised on the activsync. have tried all latest installing activsync etc.
Problem is the qtek isnot accessible anymore, and i am having problems editing stuff..sending sms etc..Besides if there is a misssed call, it soed not keep the nu,ber in memory..when the phone rings i can see who calls.
Basically myqtek is stuck useless frozen in time
Anybody has any pointers.(how to get in, wipe everything and start fresh)

it's ERROR 103: ROM IMAGE FILE NOT FOUND

I am now installing the offical upgrade from o2 (to WM2003SE), then i will retry it, possibly with the diamond version.

in the upgrade folder, there must be these files

HimaUpgradeitNoID.exe, nk.nbf and RUUResource.dll

then just enter bootloader mode and run the RUUUpgrade..exe and that should be it..while you;r on WM2003, format your DOC so that you could have extra 30.53MB Storage :)

First I must thank you for this rom. now everything is working on my Qtek 2020, even my gear-4 stereo bluetooth headphone. There are still some questions :

1- I've set France in "Region settings" but language's still english, and I can't find any french language pack. Have you any solutions ?

2- After flashing the Qtek, when I first put it on the cradle, Win XP asked me to install some "generic rndis driver", I let him do it automatically. After that, I've updated active sync to 4.5, and all is fine... BUT after this driver is installed, my internet connection on my desktop PC doesn't work anymore. To get it back, I must restore system before the first installation of RNDIS driver.
Then I have internet again, but can't no longer synchronize Qtek on my PC...

What can I do ?

since upgrade my mda2 onto wm 6.1 (), I can't use any kind (analog or digital) of dual-sim adapter. The adapters are not recognized by system. Only sim-place 1 is set in function. What's to do !?
Is there anyone too with same problem and has a solve !?

Anyone used Windows 7 to successfully update XDA II?


I dug out my XDA II the other day and although its got TOFLOCK I would like to do a clean install. (Possibly my favourite ROM.) Anyways, I think the Windows 7 (64bit) OS is causing difficulties.

- Error 101 if in bootloader
- In ordinary mode the Program window states that there has been a problem and I should reset and try again. but the message is the same..

-Disabled my firewall
-Loath to disable my Antivirus.
-Mobile device centre set to allow USB and allow data connections.

I am going to wait a few of days in case anyone's got ideas - 'cos I would prefer to use Windows 7 (ultimate) as mydesktop OS.

Otherwise if no replies I'll use XP to wipe & reinstall the XDA in the normal fashion.

It may well be that I'm rusty and may have missed something obvious :o

Easiet ROM by Far to install. I'm a noob to these sort of things bloke who had the phone before installed tofclock, it crashed so i plugged it in and ran the setup! Thanks very much :):)
