View Full Version : Selling 8525 and all accessories included!!!

Well, time has come to move on to something else to "play" with. I've hacked the crap outta this phone and have grown tired. So, before I put it on eBay where most phone buyers wouldn't appreciate what they're getting, I'd post it here for a week first.
What's included:
* 8525 in awesome shape! I treated it like a baby lol.
* Leather case
* 2G mini sD card
* GPS reciever
* universal car mount
* home charger and car charger
* USB cable
- It's unlocked, and is running WM6 Black Majik with the added ButtonFlo cooked in, but not activated. Since flashing to this ROM I have not SR unless I wanted to on my own. None of that sleep of death crap.
- I'm leaving all apps installed, including a few like Agile Messenger and TeleNAV. You can use my subscription to Agile for all your Instant Message needs until my subscription runs out in about 8 months. The phones GPS ready so as long as you have TeleNAV on your plan you're all set. It also has Threaded SMS so your text messages will come in like iChat. Also included is a black version of the finger scrolling Contacts app. Too many ringtones I made and wallpapers to even begin a list. This is a sweet deal for the price I'm asking.
***I'm selling this as a PACKAGE DEAL, nothing seperate, so don't ask me how much for just this or that. It all goes to one buyer. $300 to start, and sold to the highest bidder over that starting price. I'll take care of shipping via UPS, and if you don't have PayPal then a cashiers check or money order will be accepted.***
PM me if interested or ask in here if you have any questions. -fin

Just found the box and realized there's an extra stylus, and all the software and paperwork that came with it! The box looks like I just got it. I'm pretty anal about keeping things and never toss stuff like this out.
Ok, only thing NOT pictured is the universal car mount cause I haven't yanked it off my windshield. lol Also, the 2G card comes with an adapter. [pictured]. :)

I have 2 offers so far. One was $200 like I offerd, the second $201. I'm ending this sale on Friday, Sept. 21st at 8pm EST. If you're serious, offer $202. As long as someone offers $1 more then I'll go with the highest bidder for everything aforementioned. Canada shouldn't be a problem. I can ship via UPS anywhere.
***NOTE***
ANYONE INTERESTED PLEASE POST IN HERE WITH YOUR BID. This way people know what's been offered. The highest bidder on Friday I'll contact with a PM to get their info and will ship Monday morning and by UPS Next Day Air.

Got the black scroll app from the Hacking Developing forum here. It's still installed and makes the Black Theme even better. Also, I have the Threaded SMS installed too, so when you text someone it keeps track of the convo like an AIM session. Kinda like iChat.

I tried that. I set a price of $300 and no one bid. lol Anyone bids $300 and I'll ship it tomorrow! It's an awful lot to part with. The universal car mount works with my iPhone so I'll have to order a new one and I think it cost me about $20-$25?
Now I'm hopin that whatever is over $200 will go to shipping since I'm covering shipping, but if it's outside the US then the consignee will have to atleast pay half.

I wish I'd seen this when u posted it - JUST bought one on EBAY - would (and Might still) give $250 for what u are offering....
Well, I can't say tonight that i can afford a second one, but if you still have it, I might have to dig a little deeper & see if I have enough $$ left ;-)
Sounds like a great deal regardless!
Thanks!

lol I just got a like new refurb 8525 from cigular for $149 with no contract and a new BT gps + drop in window mount charge cradle for $67 so $300 is not really a bargain.

"new" refurb? Um, it's a clean used phone but STOCK.:rolleyes: Re-read everything that's included BEFORE you say something.
-Phone (lets say $150 like you got, but yours is STOCK) Originally $500
-GPS Portable receiver $50, origianlly $90
-2G memory card (whups, you forgot that) :rolleyes: $40 was twice that.
-Universal Car Mount $20 (I paid more, but for shits and giggles lets just say $20)
-Apps I purchased that are REMAINING installed. $$$ who knows. $0 for this estimate.
-Car adapter $15
-Leather carrying case $20
So: $150, $50, $40, $20, $0(apps), $15,$20 is $305 plus the cost of UPS Next Day Air shipping with insurance which will be over $40, $300 is more than a bargain. Plus, it's not a STOCK 8525. If you want a refurbed stock 8525 then knock yourself out kid. This one comes loaded. Some people get the shinny new car with cloth seats and crank windows, others get the loaded power with leather. Enjoy that stock 8525. Exploring where the reset hole is on that stock ROM is fun too. :rolleyes:

Lol, Funny you call me kid, but you car references really makes you sound like the child... but if you want to use your car metafor...as what does seem to make my 8525 STOCK over yours is software...in the car metafor that would be gas... so you are saying it's better buying a used car online from a dude on a mostly annonymous message board, because the seller claims it has premium gas in the tank, than a certified pre-owned warranted one, because you know you have to take it to a free gas pump on the way from the dealership.
Roll your eyes as you please.
Maybe you should re-read..particular the LIKE new reference.
Yes, I do realize my unit is used, but in LIKE new condition, just like i'm sure you can't claim your unit is new...
Not sure what you mean about stock...it have been unlocked, running a custom WM6 ROM since 20 minutes after it left the shipping box, but I what do I know about these things, running my "STOCK" 8525, but to me what you list seem pretty much stock as well.
Never had problems requiring to reset it other than once when removing the flash card while running apps from it. And BTW the car mount included the car adapter and the price listed did include the shipping as well.. and oh yeah 2gb cards are $25 brick and mortar now(bought one yesterday after realizing my $12.99 1gb one didn't fit tom tom on it), cheaper online...even if you paid $80 for it originally, $40 now is still a crappy deal.
So even if we do the math of $149(phone) $67 (car mount/charger, BT GPS) $25 (2gb Flash) so, Im short your leather case but I belive I can do better than $60 for it and other than my phone, all items are warranted (due to me flashing the custom rom or it would be under warranty too).
I guess you need to justify your "deal" so you needed to turn it into a pissing contest.
All i'm was trying to say is that it may be a great deal for when you bought it originally, but most of the items you list are now cheaper new than your "used" prices. My intentions was not trying to brag about my "deals"(as it wasn't any, didn't even shop around) simply saying what we got is old school by now and retailers are clearing their shelfs for Kaiser's etc. now, throwing their 8525 after ya.
But each to their own. Some people like to pay premium for not having to download the ROM's etc and run it, avoiding the chance of bricking their device.
Just assuming most people hanging out here, feel somewhat comfortable with ROM flashes etc. and would tinker with it anyways.
See, you made me type a lot of stuff on a small keyboard.
But have to get out running my car with the cloth seats and the window cranks...oh wait..I did get leather and power...oh my...guess it's not stock anymore.
Sorry for my poor english, but it's not my first language.
ok...i'm off my soap box...just don't put it there in front of me again or I might have a compulsive desire to climb back up, running my virtual mouth again.
ps.
Feel free to delete my account since I, the noob, dare to say something rather than just bowing to the overlord of the community...that I WAS going to perhapps contribute to as i'm an embedded software developer... but whatever.... i'm just a noob barely able to figure out a radio from a keyboard so what do I know.

Sorry I called you a "kid". I was taking your lead by jumping on the "Assuming" bandwagon. :rolleyes: Also, you just added an estimated figure of roughly $279 (if I add 20 to your total for a case), which is still short overnight delivery which I pay for and the money spent on applications still installed that the new user wont have to pay. UPS Next Day Air Saver is $35. The shipping alone puts this "deal" over $300 with YOUR OWN NUMBERS. Gee, thanks for proving my point. :rolleyes: Any more witty 12 paragraph replies send them to my inbox.
This is a package "sell". Not individual items for sale. Sure you can go online and order everything. Make sure you include shipping and sales tax before you post numbers again, and once you order all your seperate items and tally your total, come here and tell me $300 for a 8525 and all items listed isn't a better deal than you'll find anywhere for everything included. You just proved it was above, unless of course yo'd like to re-edit those numbers and squeak it in at $299.
Don't assume someone that makes a bid here has the knowledge or time to invest in modding a refurb to what I've already done, or you've just done. I could place my 8525 next to yours and you'll have to turn it on to tell me which one is which, so coming in here to brag about a stock refurb and GPS mount was just your own way to justify the money you spent and time you wasted flashing and modding it. I'm not knocking that. That was your choice. Being an ass by starting a post with "lol" and then mocking someone elses idea of what they consider a "deal" after all the time they spent modding a device and then parting ways with EVERYTHING included was you being a jackass. Sorry for my poor choice of English words to use. Nicer ones aren't my first, and do me a favor, if you're gonna attempt sarcasm can you try and get to a point in the first 9 paragraphs? That was worse than reading Oprahs magazine. :rolleyes:
My appologies for getting off track and replying to this "guy". The genius actually pointed out with his own math that $300 is under his "deal" worthy estimates. Guess that deserves a *golf clap*.

Wow, sounds more like you want this comunity to bow down to you, Mr. Embedded Software Developer. There's a reason you mentioned that fact, obviously you thought that would earn you immediate credit on this board. Sorry. If you wanna blow your own horn start your own thread, don't crap all over someone's legitimate ForSale post.

What a dumb argument.
He can sell it for whatever he wants, and since someone bought it the value is clearly there.
I've never known of Cingular to sell phones without contracts, by the way, even refurbs. Don't forget to add in the two-year agreement to the $150 cost. And also, don't lie and say you got it from Cingular contract-free.

Ah, no problem. Told ya, I'm a UPS driver and know that those type of things happen, especially when you're dealing with shipping to a company setup like that. I'm glad you're happy and I also hope you checked out that site I gave ya for whatver you may need for it. If you have ANY questions about ANYTHING, get ahold of me. I'll help ya with whatever ya need. :)
