OK, so a couple weeks ago i wake up after a hazy night to find my screen cracked on my wizard. replacement touch screen finally comes in today, phone comes apart fine, getting the old touch matrix off was semi-difficult but i got it off without ruining the LCD and put the new touch matrix on.
package everything up and no touch.
the ribbon cable from the old touch matrix was a bit of a pain to get off of the LCD module, 2 traces came off fine but 2 left a copper residue, i managed to get off one. regardless, i busted out the multimeter and did a continuity test and the points are all good.
just wondering if anyone has any experience in getting this working? i'm going to try to open it up again and get off the rest of that copper residue, but considering the ribbon cable to the LCD works fine, i'm guessing it must be where the touch matrix connects to the LCD.
it seems HTC only puts a piece of tape over the ribbon connector to make the connections to the LCD. am i wrong? any input is much appreciated. thanks!
