Of course they did -- Proclip is the US distributor for Brodit.
For what will probably be a less expensive solution check out http://www.4ustuff.com/product.php?mode=9&search=htc+tytn+ii -- they're a manufacturer & sell only in the wholesale market.

Something that I dont like this kind of universal holder that uses a "spring", where there is a button to release the grip ... the spring will not tight anymore after let say several months.
And I am really afraid if it is not tight, the car bumps into something on the road and then the beloved PDA jumps out of the holder ! It happened several times.
I am not sure with Brodit / Proclip brand, can you share your experience?
I use one from Arkon and the spring is loose now. So, I removed the spring and glued permanently, cut the grip to make it fit for the Kaiser. It is ugly (really) but it can now hold the Kaiser very tightly.

Never had a car kit before, always had a pocket in my car perfect for a phone. Changed car now though and need some sort of holder. Also want to do away with my Bluetooth headset.
Does a kit exist where you put the phone in the cradle, and it both charges and connects to a car head unit/microphone. Obviously not for the Kaiser yet, but if its available for other phones, it will for this in time.
Know some executive cars have this built in and some companies cater for the aftermarket, but they seem to want hundreds. Am capable of installing said kit, just need a place to buy!

How about a Bluetooth car kit? they are available for most cars and head units (be it third party or factory fit units). and you aren't tied to a perticular phone or even make of phone.

I like this one
http://www.kidigi.com/Car%20CHT%209000.asp
as it is much smaller than the mounts which also contain a speaker built into the mount itself. I find these to be fugly and way too bulky.
Also, this is easier to take apart on the end holding the speaker and wire around it so I can run it into my AUX jack in the car. I also have a mic tucked away above the rear view mirror, have wired a spare power socket in the glove box, and tuck the wires under a kuda mount on the dash. It's a very clean look and almost appears original equipment.
All I do is cradle my phone when I get in the car and I have MP3 tunes through the stereo. When a call comes in, I just hit the answer button on the phone and the mic kicks in, while the call comes through the speakers. IMO, better than BT because I can also play my MP3s wihtout having to resort to a downgraded music signal via an FM receiver.
I've been using a very similar setup with my 8125 and also pair to a Bluetooth GPS reciever, which will now be built into my soon to arrive Kaiser :) Works vey nice.
Downsides? Unless I put some kind of rotation dvice between the kuda mount and the kidigi, landscape mode is a no-go. Could possibly use the seidio model for this at the expense of some additional bulk, but it looks like they have stocked out (www.seidioonline.com). It's also pretty solidly mounted, so if you like the idea of a gooseneck that can be adjusted on the fly, the kuda would not work well.

Was tempted by that, but if i need to run cables in the car to charge the phone, thought i might as well put one to the speakers/mic too. Im lazy too, dont want to get my phone out and turn bluetooth on and off every time i get in and out the car :D
Jgermuga - So connecting the original cable from that mount that leads to the speaker, to the Aux in on your HU, when the phone rings will it automatically switch to Aux and send the call audio to the speakers or do you have to switch it to aux on the HU and then answer the phone?

I need to switch over to AUX on the HU, but still easier than enabling BT on the phone, especially when driving. Plus, unless BT is turned on when the call comes in, I am not sure there is a way to force the connection to go to hadsfree via the car. My change over might involve manual intervention, but it is easy to just ask the caller to hang on a second, cradle the phone and switch over to AUX.
I find it a lot less distracting than trying to get at the BT screen, enable BT, switch to phone pad, hit softkey for menu, enable handfree, and hope I don't hit any buttons inadvertantly, or wind up dropping the call. I have also had the call go into limbo where I had to end it and redial... Trust me, BT is great for headsets, syncs, A2DP, etc, but I am still not thrilled with how it works in the car.
And having it hardwired is pretty impressive when I hit the Voice Command hot button on my phone, say "Play, Dave Matthews" and off it goes!

So, i buy this, cut the speaker/charger off, i then need to extend the cables, one to a 12v, one to a mic and one to my aux in? Never tried anything like this before but willing to give it a shot. Any generic eBay mic do the job?

does anyone make a car adapter that is compatible with a weighted friction mount?
Garmin devices have this thing called a friction mount that is weighted. basically the underside is a soft rubber material that keeps the base from moving, and it is filled with about a pound (1/2 kilo for those across the pond) of sand. the base is very sturdy. i have taken many trips with this base with no movement at all.

My guess is that Garmin are the only one that would likely make any further attachments as they hold the copyright etc, seeing as the HTC devices are competition for them in so much as the TomTom/Copilot route then I dare say it would only be 3rd party taiwanese/chinese companies that are likely to risk breaching the copyright to make such holders to fit on.

its hard to imagine that only Garmin owns the rights to a weighted friction mount setup.
even if they did some chinese company would already figure out a way to copy it and give the rest of us the benefit from their R&D =)
the weighted friction mount allows for the cleanest look (no suction cup madness), makes the mount portable, reliable, and sticks to the dashboard really well (unless you're using your navigator for a rally race)

The seidio unit came with a mic and cord, so I used that. Otherwise, radio shack may be some help (If you're in the US). I was considering going with one that had some phantom power via a watch battery but I didn't get far enough down that road to know if the extra gain made a big difference.
As far as the wiring, I hadn't done it myself before either (with the exception of a dash radion in a 70's oldmobile ---whole different ballgame!) I also had to crack open the seidio mount to get at the wiring and wound up basically sawing it in half lengthwise to get rid of some bulk. The kidigi mount looks much slimmer from the get go and should be much easier to get at the wiring since it is on the tail end.
You will definitly need a soldering iron for the job, since the wires tend to be very thin and do not connect well with electrical tape alone. I am by no means a bread board guy and my skills are pretty crude. Still, I've had no problems and no shorts after 6 months.
As for power, I wired up a Radio Shack spare lighter plug in the glove box and ran everything into there, so I didn't need to splice into or cut the power cord.Plus, I have a place where I can plug in something to charge whilst out of sight and locked up.

I have used the Brodit/Proclips holders for my SX66, 8125 and now my Treo 750. I see they now have the same type mount for the Kaiser. When mine comes in I will be purchasing another ProClips product. IMO they have outclassed all other holders I have tried throughout the years. The fit is always glove tight. The setup is easy. They are easy to rotate from portrait to landscape. I always get the holder with the built in charging cord and it has always charged my devices as expected. Plus, aesthetically they are slender and good-looking in a flat black. I cannot say enough about these products. I am always so surprised when I get an accesssory for my PDA that actually works (that's a sad commentary on the huge % of products that I receive that are complete junk).

I am not sure with Brodit / Proclip brand, can you share your experience?
The Brodit/Proclips are the bes in their class based on my experience. However I only used them for the Blue Angle models.
They are milled plastic for the perfect fit and can be purchased with the connecter installed or install your own. I opt'ed for the install your own so I could pinout my power and speakers with a cable I purchased from (I don't remember).
They also have a custom snapin bracket that is custom to your car/truck make and model. I planned on using the one I purchased for the blue angel and just upgrading the Tilt adapter (they are interchangable).
I just hope that one day someone gets the idea that I don't just want a charger, nor do I just want a speaker connection; I want the following in my cradle:
* The proprietary connector installed on the cradle (ProClip has done this)
* No wires at all but connectors on the bottom that pinout to the proper leads on the proprietary connector for:
** Mini USB for power charging and sync with Car Computer
** Mic input (for hands free system)
** Speaker output (for hands free system & stero playback of music)
I'll connect my own wires in the way I want them.
I do not believe I am asking for much. I am willing to pay for this, someone just needs to make and sell them. I am hoping Brodit and ProClip get the message.
This one configuration would satisfy all needs for all customers, you don't want all this stuff then don't use it.

Well having bought the HR mount from ebay to fit my vario I vent bracket (i still use the vario 1 for the mrs having tomtom) The one on ebay is for portrait orientation only and it does not allow for the slide to work.
When I received the package it has the Hermes mount in there and it doesn't quite hold it as tight as it should so if you were to use it on a bike (bike mount) then you would brake and the V3 would slide out the top of the holder.
I used a heat gun to heat up the sides of the mount and mould them closer to the V3 rather than the V2 (hermes) and it seems a lot tighter now and wouldn't move in the above eventuality. Its worth it if you get the suction/vent mount solutions and you wouldn't have to re-shape it but it would maybe need some packing on the rear to stop it vibrating/rattling. I am sure that over time HR will actually make a completely new more snug fitting mount but the hermes ones will work at a push.
Will upload a picture later

My honest opinion is to protect your expensive phone and pony up for the Brodit/Proclip mount. You can't make it move no matter how crazy you drive. I was amazed at how well it holds...but it is definitely more pricey than the suction cup mounts.
This is my first major car mount I've ever purchased...and now they have a customer for life.

Flubster (or anybody else with this kind of mount) doesn't having it so very close to the car's audio headunit make it impossible to listen to the radio?
Granted, I'm using a factory headunit in my Jeep, but it's the premium one and sounds pretty good... unless my cellphone is activly communicating! Especially data. CDs are fine, so it's the tuner, not the amplifier...
Do aftermarket radios do a much better job of not picking up the signals? Because I can't imagine using either of the mounts offered for my vehicle and being able to listen to the radio.
Or is the 8925 somehow better at not interfering with radios than my 8525 was?

If you don't care about the mic, just get the audio adapter from pocketpctechs. It includes a standard 1/8" jack and a mini usb port for your car charger. To mount in your car, go to proclipusa and get the mount for your car and the holder for your tilt.
Otherwise, there really isn't anything as good as the Seidio. I have the 8125 cradle installed in my car and it works great, gives me factory-like integration with my car audio and power.
Here's how it looks:

The 4700X should be even better since it's black.

I used the Seidio for my 8125 as well but it is a bit bulky and I wound up splitting in half and running the wires through a mount from another company. Don't recall where I got it, but it is specific to my car model, so it probably won't help others too much. I extended the wires into the the golve box, where I attached a cord to run into my AUX input, and another to run a mic cord around the windshield and tucked the mic up above the rear view mirror. I also put a spare power jack from radio shack to power both the mount and a BT gps receiver. Works pretty nicely.

Can anybody tell me if the current Hermes car kits will fit the Kaiser?
If you switch off the side buttons, ie for the camera, then yes. It's a bit of a squeeze but it mostly fits.

Is there a decent one out there that will accomodate the screen being opened, will hold it landscape as well as portrait etc...
Info please...
You might want to consider the Brodit kits.

What i would like is a quick dock like on a desktop craddle. Something you can drop in and pull out 1 handed very easily. The opion to landscape would be nice, but not as convinent as an easy drop in craddle!!!

... easy drop in cradle!!!
Make that an easy drop in that has both Power AND Audio out.
I use my phone everyday for GPS and MP3s. I hardly ever use the FM radio and I don't even have a single CD in my car. Everyting we need is right in our little 8 GB Tilts, we are just lacking a quick way to dock them to our AUX in car stereos!!!

Raptor
If you find something like this please let me know. I am in my car at least 8 hours a day, and the hands free kit with mic in, speaker out and power is what i have been looking for. I still have a mic and speaker in my car from my old Motoraloa 815 car kit that i could patch into.

I gave up on waiting for Seidio. Instead I went with a powered mount and a Pioneer DEH-P7900BT bluetooth CD receiver. It supports A2DP, AVCRP, and the Hands Free profile. It also does echo cancellation for voice calls and includes an external mic. So now it does everything I want it to and when I upgrade I will only have to get a basic powered mount to integrate with my car.

I was just looking for a car receiver for the same reason and came across the exact same radio. How do you like it so far?

I love it. The install was dirt simple and I ran the mic up the A-pillar so it's near my head. Even in BT music mode it still uses the mic so you can still use Voice Command. When you receive a call, it flips to phone mode and then returns to your last source when you finish talking. You can even have control of play/pause/next/previous in media player from the head unit itself.
Only a couple caveats- you have to beam contacts over bluetooth to the stereo's phonebook, and pocket outlook only lets you beam one at a time (you can use pocket informant to send them all), and the media player track info is not displayed in the radio.
Sound quality is great and I don't see a perceivable difference in performance.

Can someone point me in the right direction?
I'm in a low hatchback (Mazda3) and I'm fairly tall, so I'd like either a mount that attaches to the front of my dash (near the stereo) or to the upper dash or windshield as long as it has a long gooseneck.
Secondly, I'd like for it to power the device, or have a gap in the bottom so I could manually plug in a car charger.
Third, it would be nice if the thing rotated to accomodate portrait and landscape modes.
Finally, I wouldn't mind a hands-free feature, as long as it didn't interfere with my BT audio (which I already have a solution for). I figure most hands-free mounts go through the mini-USB along with the power, so I'm not sure if I can use my BT audio and then use the hands-free part when I receive a call.
Here are the only other things to keep in mind:
I currently have my Tilt in a case very similar to the Seido case. Actually, it's this one (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360025606067&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:US:1123). So whatever mount I choose will have to accomodate the extra dimensions.
This case also has a very standard clip doohicky on the back, so I can use a mount that takes advantage of this, possibly.
Hopefully this isn't too broad. Any suggestions?

i had the oncourse 2 with my hermes and really liked it....
I just bought a kiaser and the oncourse 3 FM transmitter.... i was going to get a bluetooth A2DP enabled stereo for my card, Sony one for $169 but this is a cheaper route.... ill post a mini review when i get it...
i used my hermes in landscape mode with it and just used a touchflo shortcut to flip screen.... worked better for turn-by-turn GPS that way...

Checkout the Proclip/Brodit Car Mount plate for your vehicle.
The Seidio Belt clip rotates right? That covers the Hor/Vert mounting.
The belt clip may be able to clip directly to the mounting plate. If not then add a Krusell Car Mount, the belt clip will slide into this.
Here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1978834&postcount=8) is what I've done with the Noreve Case, Brodit/Proclipsusa Car Mount, Krusell Car mount and Krussel Swivel Belt Clip.

Thanks for the feedback (and you too, adidas). My first thought is that clipping the belt clip directly onto the plate would be clumsy, but I have no idea until I try, I guess.
The Krusell site was beyond confusing, but I stumbled my way to the Tilt car mounts. The one you mention (58127) says nothing about being able to lock at different degrees, and I wonder if my cheap phone-side part of the belt clip would fit into it.
Hm. Probably my best bet so far. Anyone have any opinions on dash- or windshield-mounted gooseneck solutions?
Thanks.

The good thing about going A2DP is that you don't have to pay for full featured mounts (and wait for one to be made) every time you switch phones.

The goosenecks work fine but the windshield mount ones are illegal in California if you ever go there. Dash mount requires that you stick a special smooth plate for the suction cup. I had one for a while and got annoyed because they never really held the phone very steady, so mine swayed quite a bit. ProClip is totally the way to go.

With the Krusell Car Mounts you simply get a place to hang the case. If the Seidio belt clip retchets then you have that ability by clipping it to the Mount.
If you use something with the mount like I have then all you need to do is add the Krusell Ratcheting belt clip (see note at bottom of my referenced post) to the Car Mount and now you have a Ratcheting Car Mount.
I've come to the conclusion that there is no "perfect solution" so we each must build what we like (as I have done).
If you do want to buy the Krusell Accessories PM me and I'll send you the e-mail addy of the place in NY where I buy mine (they are the cheapest source I've found for Krusell bits in the US and they combine shipping).

The clip looks week and unworthy. I have tried a variety over the years of pda/phone ownership and change vehicles daily. So I can't leave the same mount in all the time. The suction cup usually fails after a few months.
I've only found the Brodit anti-vibration mounts worthwhile. However, I thought we were discussing a permanent fixed solution?!
Either way, the bracked at the back of what you've shown does look like a Brodit mounting bracket...

You can check this PDAir gooseneck solution: http://cgi.ebay.com/Car-Mount-for-PDair-Leather-Case_W0QQitemZ320064253837QQihZ011QQcategoryZ35193 QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262
It's a windshield mount, and I think it should work with your case.
An ebay seller (nakedcellphone) says he can get me one (he is in California, isntead of waiting for one from the Hong Kong.)

I'm sorry if I missed this, but I am looking for the following:
I Passive car holder/mount for the Tilt when the Mugen 3000mah extended battery is in (hopefully it would be adjustable so I can use it with the oem battery as well).
I would also like it to accommodate both landscape and portrait.
Lastly, I would like to attach it to my vent or mount it on the dashboard (2005 Impala).
Thanks for your help!

Hiya Kcrumbley ;)
I've got the mounts from GpsForLess:
http://www.gpsforless.co.uk/product_details.php?id=11546
You can use it either way, landscape or portrait. You've got lots of different ways of mounting them to your vehicle plus they're interchangable.
As for longevity, I've got the "vibration free" mount on suction which has lasted over 18 months, and being a professional driver I change trucks more times that you would think possible :( It's survived me and my work and is still going :)
You can get your own version of this in your country no doubt as it's an international thing. Even if you email GPSForless they could either sell it to you or suggest your local retailer.
Good Luck :)

does anyone make a car adapter that is compatible with a weighted friction mount?
Garmin devices have this thing called a friction mount that is weighted. basically the underside is a soft rubber material that keeps the base from moving, and it is filled with about a pound (1/2 kilo for those across the pond) of sand. the base is very sturdy. i have taken many trips with this base with no movement at all.
http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Portable-Friction-StreetPilot-010-10908-00/dp/B000LRMS66/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-9997688-2408065?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1191742690&sr=1-1
It looks like Gomadic makes something very similar. You can get it without a auto charger (http://www.gomadic.com/htc-8925-car-bean-bag-holder.html ) or with a charger (http://www.gomadic.com/htc-8925-car-bean-bag-holder-charger.html ). Both also come with a windshield mount as well.
I haven't tried it, but I have had other Gomadic products and the company is very reliable.

HI...
I'm looking for a car holder for my Kaiser which will allow me to connect a 'Y' lead to the handset so I can hook the Kaiser up-to my car Hi-Fi speaker's, and charge the device via the cigarette lighter socket at the same time... AND allow me to display the device in either landscape & portrait view.
I have an old (excellent) suction mount for my Road Angel SatNav - can I buy a new Kaiser specific cradle/holder and clip this onto my existing Road Angel suction mount/arm ?
If so, where can I buy one in the UK/EU ?
If not, which UK/EU supplier & product would other forum member's recommend ?
TIA,
Mark.

I have a Brodit one that meets your requirements, allows both portrait and landscape in both open and closed modes. In the states the official vendor is www.proclipusa.com where you mix and match your device and mounting preferences; not sure where you'd find the same for the UK.

Do you have a part number or product code for the part ?
And, just out of curiosity, how are you sure that the part will connect to my old Road Angel arm of the suction pad ?

Your best bet is to go to www.proclipusa.com and configure the mount as needed- they do sell to the UK. You will almost certainly be able to configure a mount with the functionality you want, including a suction arm.
I don't know if the mount will work with the Road Angel. The cradle attachments are totally standard, so if your arm conforms to the AMPS standard it should work. No guarantees with random advice from forum posters, though.

in Bouth thing mentioned i am actualy interested in. Having hands free in it, it would be much easer and better if i had built in hands free sistem. And still i should be able to turn it to side and slide open mine phone too...
But there is 3th thing thats is needed i think. I dont like those car kits which is fixed in front of coolers... I should be able to fix it to panel or front glass, without damaging them. If i attack it to front glass i shouldnt strach far to get to it, and for example push button, navigate home (on tomtom). So it must me on long handle.
