Going back 2 XDA-Atom ROM WM5AKU333 (Beta version-attchd FinalROM-jeffkewin-SMS ok)

Although the Final Version of this ROM was released few days back, many of us reflashed our ROM and returned to the evaluation/beta version because of the SMS issue on the final version of AKU3.3.3. So far this is the stable ROM, bug free in all releases.

jeffkewin attached in this forum an edited FINAL ROM from our gEnius JIGGS ROM. TRy to Evaluate. Looking fine for me. He also solved the camera issue and add some more 3rd party software which seems looks good. Just try!

Just for Testing and Evaluation Purpose.

I have just finished porting and correcting the error of the WM5 AKU 3.3 from genius Jiggs to final to AKU 3.3 F.

Revision to AKU 3.3F - Final
1) Internet Sharing, PAN and USB Modem link is working (not tested)
2) SMS & MMS is working
3) Camera flickering is resolved in my previous edited
4) Removed most of the O2 ***pid screen like Windows Media skn, etc..
5) Battery life same as AKU 3.3.3
6) Addition program in the 'System' Folder

The battery life is excellent with HTC Home, HTC PhonePad and Dialer, installed. only 4% lost for 8-9 hours of standby. I make a 2 minutes phone call and lost about 1-2% of battery life. My backlight is put to level 2, and when i was in a call, i off my screen :P That why I am able to get this performance..

Extend Rom:
1) HTC Plugin (edited the plugin to add in all the shortcut base on my favourites, and remove touch function, hee hee hee )
2) HTC Dialpad and SmartDial
3) Remove spbgprs (not working)
4) Remove SMSbackup (duplicate as it already existed)

Click Yes (AutoInstall) to install those plugin, kindly Installed to Device for better performance for the HTC Plugin, HTC Dialpad, HTC Intellipad.

If you planning to install SPB Mobile suite, SPB Phone Suite, related phone feature. Please do not install HTC Plugin or HTC Dialpad & SmartDial. As you got too many mobile features in your mobile, it might cause instability. :P

Please download the AKU3.3addon.cab attachment cab for the updated.
1) Updated is for the background of the phone
2) HTC Intellipad

Bugs issue:
1. Wifi button on the Wireless Manager sometime work but sometimes do not work. I guess it is because of some drivers issue or incompatible with the Wireless Manager. Tried to stick back to wrlsmgr to on the wifi or else goto the Settings, under connections, Wi-fi Utility. (ignore the turn on and off button, as this is a known issue)
2. Those who set password to the sim, i had change the background with some strange color :P if you have not install the HTC DialPad.
3. HTC dialpad might cause contact to load abit slowly, but it should not be a problem as the OS is using a 8 meg pool memory.

This Rom is done by Jiggs... I gain no credit for this. But it does really take my many hours of lossless sleep and I forgotten how many times i flash my devices.

I managed to get the fast speed of Final AKU 3.3 and the new set of icons to the AKU 3.3.3 but the Internet Sharing is having one problem which is when you click on it, it will display "IntShrUI.exe is not a valid Pocket PC Application" when executed". But when you click 2nd time, it is working fine already.

Everything is based on Final AKU 3.3 accept I just port it to the AKU 3.3.3 because of the SMS feature. This is specially done incase some of your still want to try out AKU 3.3 Final but cannot use the SMS feature.

Day1 after using this ROM:
- O2 boot screen remain as "O2" default, while Jiggs Final ROM had been changed to WM6 Screen.
- Control Panel's icons remain as 3.3.3, while Jiggs Final had been changed to WM6.
- SMS is working fine, GPRS, WiFi is working fine, Battery life seems ok.
- Speed is almost the same as 3.3.3

Got a bit of a problem, my Atom rings with sound but when I answer there is no sound at all, other side can't hear me either. There is no sound when I tried playing music.
Don't know whats happening I tried Jeffkewin rom and back to 3.3.3 when I found the problem. Just tried Xda-Atom-Exec-ENG-20060721-mod_n-fix.exe but no luck, will try the original now.

if you try all ROM and still it is the problem, its a hardware issue...

can u go to the Radio.. check whether can u turn it on without the headset or earplug. If you can turn on the Radio without headset, your headset jack had been damaged. You can try to turn on the Speaker from the Radio Channel.. and than u call. U should hear ringing

Looks like I will be getting a new phone then... I thought it will last until I can get a Kaiser in Aust (Mid-Oct), might have to settle for a P3600i (only problem is the 64MB RAM).

This is just temporary, I had found a way to resolve the IntShrUI.exe and also will be adding new version of PIMBackup 2.5 :P , will tried if I can change the stupid O2 screen :P

version aku 3.3.3F have got some bug. After I reflash, meet some bug: camera couldn't use, SMS couldn't send. According to me, you don't need download this version. Pls wait another version or WM6 (thanks jiggs and jeffkewin)

I have Atom and loaded 3.3F it is great in first look but i had problem for incoming call. I can not answer the call it always ring. System load to extended rom as memory card even i have memory card.
I have loaded spb mobile shell, spb pocket plus, resco explorer, resco keyboard, spb phone tools.

I have reloaded orginal atom rom again. I am wating wm6 english version.

Did you install the AUtoInstall.. If you have install SPB mobile shell, SPB phone suite, or PhoneAlarm i would suggest you not to install
1) HTC Home
2) HTC Dialer and Smartdial
3) HiddenPartition

It seem to be that you have install the HiddenPartition Cab, that why it cause it to go to extended ROM

Click No not to installed... I rather not have SPB mobile shell as I am using HTC Home. I am using it alright..

3) Screen Capture
4) Resco Explorer

Jeffkewin first of all i would like to thanks for your great job. This rom looks very good.

I have reinstalled the ROM this time 3.3F everything work fine. The only thing is that the smart dialer do not get the number you coded with keypad. When you reset it works first time but after calling a number it stops again.

What could be the reason.

Phone pad issue is a phone pad bug . Well all you need to do is run the phone pad cab file for atom again and then that fixes the problem

I also waiting for WM6, as I need to study for examination. Now for the battery report, I had installed pBar which is similar to Magic Button and NewMenu having a battery monitoring, could be a replacement for both as i intend to release a fixed for it.

My backlight is put to level 2, and when i was in a call, i off my screen :P That why I am able to get this performance..

Quick fixed to be done:
1) HTC smart dialing had could be fixed with a few registry fix
2) Replacement for NewMenu and Magic Button with pBar (with battery monitoring), it is able to close all program well accept for HTC products (that's a bug)

Thanks for the info, you are right the headset jack is damaged. Hmmmm will need to open it up.

i have the same problem,but problem has solve..
I accessed the FM radio without handsfree, then click on the left bottom most icon (headphone icon) to get the radio on speaker. Then the trick: plug in and out your handsfree connector to the phone for a number of times (quickly and be patient) and eventually the phone will recognise that the handsfree was plugged off the jack, showed the normal error screen that you need handsfree to have radio on and the sound was back on!!!

I had already port to AKU 3.3F to AKU 3.5.2, it is running Mobile 5.1.478.
But I think WM6 is still prefer by others.

I am still sticking back to WM5 for a while as most application is running WM5.
1) MSN Live message
2) Mobile Office 2007, Word, Powerpoint, OneNote
3) Adobe Read LE
4) All O2 Application.
5) HTC Home Plugin
6) Smart Dial & Extention

Battery life is about 12% lost for 1 days standby. Still have bugs as sometimes my SMS cannot send, i had to reset and run autoconfig :(

don't need to run autoconfig, just check your SMS gateway number under Phone --> Options --> get the SMS & mailbox number. override these number if necessary.

I saw you port the chinese input.. i would advise you to use the chinese font, MSYH.TTF file but than it is a 10 meg file. Use only MSYH.TTF and tahamo.ttf to build it inside WM6. All the Chinese SIP will work.. and do not use globe.ttf. Inside the font in the \Windows .. delete them, left this 2 will do.

Oh really? then I will try tonight....

But it should work for the SMS because I have tried in the 3.3F too...I did not run SetupWizard on a a hard reset, just search the network and check the preferences of the SMS and mailbox number. But thanks for the info, I will try to delete some more applications to free up space packing fit into the ROM.

i am not able to use my atom as a usb modem please tell me what to do about that.
secondly touchflow is not working somehow on this ROM.
intellipad is working but not always especially after making a few calls.


other than these bugs the ROM is very stable and working like charm on my atom.

can u go to the Radio.. check whether can u turn it on without the headset or earplug. If you can turn on the Radio without headset, your headset jack had been damaged. You can try to turn on the Speaker from the Radio Channel.. and than u call. U should hear ringing

i think i have the same prob but when i turn on the speaker from the radio channel, i don't hear ringing :( also would like to ask if it is possible to bypass earplug switch via software? i tried the registry it works but not immediately, need to wait for quite sometime to work(phone must be on or charging for sometime). If the phone is reset the registry goes back to the original setting.
