How to upgrade?
Seems there has been some difficulties with some storage card disappearing after upgrade. To overcome this as a temp measure, please remove the card before flashing the ROM.
Only install the card back when the device has successfully flashed and reboot well.
Important:
Make sure you have successfully installed the Microsoft Activesync 4.5 or greater on your PC.
Method 1:
You must've installed the Ollipro's SPL 2.10
No need to activesync.
You can go straight into the bootloader mode by pressing >> buttons OK + Record + soft reset using stylus altogether <<
When you see the 3 color band release all. Make sure the text on the bottom is 'Serial'. Then you can carry on with the flashing)
select the option no. 4 which is " SPL-2.02/2.10 New Bootloader and check the last check box " Is it Hard-SPL?" and then carry on with the upgrade wizard.
or
Method 2: (Activesync first)
Use SSPL when upgrading by checking the 5th radio button " Force using SSPL"
But I prefer the first method to the 2nd one.
Happy upgrading....:D
* Atttention Please! Some of the apps in my add-ons is not originally from the original author. So there maybe some compatibility issues with other ROMs. Do not install the applications from the add-ons on other Cooks' ROMs.

Some simple tricks you can do to improve your device (Very simple but effective) And Some Hints:
1. Improve performance/response time:
- Start > Settings > Phone; Keypad = turn 'Short Tones' or "Long Tones' to 'Off'
- Start > Settings > Sounds & Notifications; Under Sound Tab => Disable/Untick Events (warings, system events)
2. Never hide the WirelessManager Tray Icon at the bottom.
Don't believe me?
Try it and feel the difference.
This is the key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\WirelessMgr]
"Keep"=dword:00000000 ;<--- (dword:00000000 to hide and dword:00000001 to show)
3. Your Windows Mobile device is just like your Windows PC. So, soft reset it before going to sleep (or whenever appropriate) once a day to make it runs good at all time.
4. Make sure you install the today plugin apps such as Resco Today Plugin etc. on the internal/device memory. Some today plugin can be installed on the storage card but it'll slow down your system performance a bit.
5. Do not install too many apps on the internal/device memory. Leave as much free space as you can on it. Check whether it can be install on the storage card or not. Normally, don't let it become as low as 8MB free but 10MB is enough already.
6. Know what you're doing such as tampering your system registry. Make sure it can be done and you're doing it the right way. If not, then leave it as is.
7. Never let your device go to sleep by itself. Do it manually by pressing the power button everytime when you've finished using your device.
8. Make sure you shutdown the 'Activesync' completely after activesyncing your device with your PC. You can use task manager (X-Button), Magic Button etc or you can use memory applet in setting > System > memory; Running Programs

Well, the pop up is called Zoom SMS for better readabilty. Click on the blue icon and your new received SMS text will be enlarged.

oh okay i got ya...maybe you can remove it from the next build....save some extra space some where.
one more thing for ya...not sure if you're aware of this but its been happening with all the new builds. while on the phone...the keyboard gets locked to number instead of letter. for example...if i try to text using the slide out keyboard while on the phone....tapping the "y" key does not output y...it outputs "1" the y,u,i,h,j,k,b,n and m keys are all like that. Any thoughts on that?

For now. I think it's hard coded. It's the flaw of the WM6. Maybe someday, somebody will find the bits and bytes of the code.
Regarding the sample email, I think I'll stick with it because it's an original feature of this great T-Mo ROM and it only consume a small space only.
I prefer stability, reliability and user friendly to big storage but unstable and a lot of missing features.
Anyway, your comments are appreciated here.
I hope you can submit every bugs you found so I can release the final one ASAP.

Could the voip drivers be the ones creating these troubles?

Did you try to make a call on a wifi network or on GPRS.
If on GPRS then make sure you have a 3G signal indicated by the icon 3G or H on your PPC.
If it did not work on both then I am afraid there could be something wrong with the VOIP drivers.
I have not flashed this yet to my PPC. I am reluctant to do so because I have made my own custom version of Schap's 3.6a and VOIP does work. I dont want to put something else on at the moment when I am not 100% sure of the outcome.

Throttle? Never satisfied me. Capped at 1Mbps? I think it's lower here in KB.
Only get HSDPA while in KB. Not everywhere. Sometimes, I got a slow connection as slow as GPRS.

This kind of problem happens to every WM6 devices with VOIP. Many of them is caused by network problems. So, you have to try it many times and else where besides the place you've tried it before. Please check also the setting you've made. If it's still happen then there must be some incompatibilities between the drivers and this new base ROM but I think it's not the case really.
Keep trying and post the result if you want a good final release:cool:.

OK. I've successfully registered on VoipBuster account (Downloading the software from the site and key in the needed details) just to try it out.
1. Make a wifi connection since there's no 3G in Gua Musang.
2. Setting account details on phone using 'Schaps VOIP 0.3' which is located in:
Program > System Tools > Schaps VOIP
3. Make a trial call to my own home with the phone number format as 00+country+area_code+Destination_Phone_Number
Result: Successful. I can talk using VOIP in Malaysia now. This is my first attempt. Yahoo!!! :D
Verdict:
GM360 Gold Edition Beta VOIP capability is hereby 'confirmed'.

Hi
Really disappointed to have to report, when I finished work tonight, I started Tom Tom and the maps werent found. The storage card had disappeared and didnt show in explorer. Ive had this before, a long time ago with early WM6 versions but not for quite a while.
Also, and probably connected, my activesync disconnected from Exchange and a reboot wouldnt restart it, had to restart manually.
Both problems have happened before but not for a long time, and roms from the very early days of WM6 cooking.
Hope Cyphol can find an answer.

Hmm...This's the first issue concerning SD card disappearing in my ROM. I can't check it unless there's more users encountered the same issue.
Actually the cause of this behaviour is multi-factors. So, I really don't know how to begin for this one.
1. SD Card format is corrupted. <= User have to check it, change it/reformat
2. SD Card is not formatted correctly. <= User have to check it, reformat
3. SD Card too slow launching after wake up. <= Already fixed
4. SD Card used is bad a product. <= Change the card
5. Flaw in ROM. <= Should happen to many users if this is the case
6. Folder creation error by system. <= Should be 2 folders exist by the similar name as "Storage Card" and "Storage Card 2" etc. <= Bugs in WM6
7. Other factors.
So, I'll have to wait for other users comment to confined this exact source of this error.
Yeah! Sometimes it happened to be caused by our PC too.

Throttle? Never satisfied me. Capped at 1Mbps? I think it's lower here in KB.
Only get HSDPA while in KB. Not everywhere. Sometimes, I got a slow connection as slow as GPRS.
No 3G + in Gua Musang. I don't know when ...
thanks for the info bro.. well, guess I'll see u there in KB this raya then.. will be in Melor for this coming raya.. ;)

I still get the same error, could you please post your setup of the VOIP settings? I tried it in every way. Could you post some screenshots?
I've only been trying to make a VOIP call over wifi.

Hi Cyphol,
I've just come across an issue with Activesync via Bluetooth. It doesn't work. Brings up an error message to say that it cannot find a PC that supports active sync. In my Bluetooth I have active sync checked OK. All other Bluetooth functions work. (Headset and Internet Sharing) Active sync works fine via USB cable. Can you please check it and advise if you have a solution.
Everything else continues to run well.. Great ROM. Thanks!

2. What Bluetooth you're using
3. How do you make your attempt
4. Have you completed activesyncing by USB mean (normal) before attempting via bluetooth.
Thanks, I'm going out for a while and will be back in 2 hours.
Now we have a group of beta testers for GM360.

1. What PC: DELL XPS M1210 running WinXP Pro SP2
2. What Bluetooth you're using: DELL Wireless 355 Module with Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR Technology.
3. How do you make your attempt:
Preliminary - Bluetooth is already paired with the PC. Activesync has been selected under the bluetooth properties.
a) Start bluetooth connection. Start activesync. Select from menu Sync via Bluetooth.
4. Have you completed activesyncing by USB mean (normal) before attempting via bluetooth: I always close all running programs before attempting to sync via bluetooth.
Additional: I was previously running jasjamming's black ROM's. Black - X beta 2 runs perfect with both USB and bluetooth active sync.
I also tested the TNT 2.0 ROM and found it always provided the best (most reliable) of any activesync connections.
I hope this helps.

It's all seem OK and you should have successfully activesynced using USB before doing this.
Now make sure that you have enabled the incoming comm port in PC:
Open Bluetooth Settings > Comm Ports > Add ...
Incoming (Device initiates the connection)
set the comm port number here, let say COM3 direction:incoming
Then on your Microsoft Activesync 4.5:
File > Connection Setting... > Allow connections to one of the following... > (select the comm port number you have set in Bluetooth settings, previously).
On your device Goto Bluetooth Setting > Select the PC you have paired before > Partnership Settings; Click 'Refresh'; Select services to use from this device: check the activesync checkbox > Save.
Goto Program > Activesync > Menu > Connect Via Bluetooth.
---------------
It's supposed to run now. Remember that I'm not using a hybrid ROM but some drivers are still from other release also.
I have tried with Microsoft Bluetooth Stack on PC and everything is OK.

Then I deleted them all, changed the COM port to 9 and the same in ActiveSync -> repaired the device and started activesync. Now it's all happy again. I hope it stays that way. Thanks for testing it on your computer too. Then I knew the ROM side was OK.

This ROM doesn't run from Extended_ROM anymore. My customization is only containing some certs and provisioning needed. If you have and extended ROM then it won't be useful for my ROM. The partition itself has been disabled.
This method (started by Bepe) has been clarified by some cooks including me as a good method to pertain a good usable storage at runtime.
If you still want to have your own extended ROM boot time autorun then you have to get the original developer version of ROM to do so.
The process of depackage and repackage developer's ROM into nbh will be as easy as what you've done before.
If you still want my ROM, then you have to give your extended ROM autorun up but I think there's another method which's been developed here to make installation of your selected apps automatically. You have to search for it because I forgot where the thread started.

That's the different between mine and other ROMs. I don't want to delete the wrong files for the wrong reason making any ROM unstable and unreliable enough. If I have time maybe, I'll go deeper and give you a better free storage but not for now. You'll get what I think suits your need as a user or a reliable PDA with phone. Integrating Chinese/Japanese/Thai support base drop the storage down to aprrox. 10MB less than the original.
OK! I'll reveal my secret. My Final WWE with Chinese support will have approx. 46MB free storage. Same with the WWE version which will have more than 46MB storage for sure but still with integrity.

If the program memory goes below 5MB, soft reset the device. See how much the program memory now. If it's still goes down like... 4MB, than I think we a memory leak here.

Sorry guys. I'm not going to have another version of my ROM in a short time. This is the last one for the time being. If you want a very lite one, you can always go to Dutty. He has a lot of them.
Quality is what my goal is not a quantity.
Now I'm studying the diff between Dopod and T-Mo release. In the sense of memory, Dopod is better at handling them but T-Mo is faster. You can count on another release if I think that this one has a problem later on. OK! vote for it.
One more think is that you can install X-Button/Task Manager but it's not really compatible with this latest beta of T-Mo ROM.
About another PagePool, I'll prepare PagePool patchers for my ROM just like before.

If SkTool can free the memory up to 8MB, then there must be a memory hungry program installed and running in the background. Recheck again and uninstall the program as a counter-check.

Hello, I'm from HTC based country , Taiwan.
I've tried CJT & WWE verison, The WWE is very fast that i have never seen !
But another one is not good in display CTJ language , the font is too small, even i adjust it to the largest .
Anyway, i suggest you try to del smart dialing for CJT version, becuz ppl live there never use smart dialing, they would like to give celedial a try.:)

Yes, you can. Where did you put the mp3 files into?
"/My Documents/My Ringtone/" is sufficient enough.

OK!
Maybe i didn't give it enough time to get used to the ROM. But i have to say that once i installed it, i didn't notice that great of a speed.
As far as functionality, i think TNT has a better choice of apps. :D
Also i have add on cab's that i can just install for programs that i like.
If anyone has used TNT and cyphol's Gold ed. please let me know the pro's and con's.
At the moment, i like TNT for it's quick responsive style. I think the programs in them can be upgraded w/o any problems.
I also noticed that the Cyphol's GOld Ed. had the striped screen when i opened contact.
you know the stripped screen that occurs when you install an incompatible program.
So i had to switch back .
but otherwise great job.

Looks like TNT2 and the Gold version are neck to neck for speed...
What about free memory ? I couldnt get anybody to tell me how much free memory was left in TNT :(

you should really give this rom a chance. i been using tnt 2 for 2 weeks. thats the longest i've used a rom because its so stable. but when i flashed this rom i noticed the speed right away. what blows me away most of all about this rom is the speed is constant. even now as we speak the speed hasn't decresed. this rom is a winner. as far as free memeory i can't really comment on that...that i dont really care about. i notices free memeroy doesnt always mean better performance.

I always welcome comments but it must be sincere.
Incompatible version? ...What incompatible? What stripped screen?
Answer me with sincerity in it.

First off great rom! Been using this one for a few days now and love it. Very stable and the push email with Seven beta works great. Thanks for all your hard work Cyphol.
Anyone having problems streaming you tube or mobile you tube? Also I have yet to get Orb to work on any rom, if anyone knows and tips or tricks for these that would be great.
Thank you,

My only issue is that I can't get windows messenger working via WiFi. Any advices on this? (note, WLM never worked on schaps rom for me)...

Thanks for the bump. Here's more info on my setup.
The only program I've installed is WLM build 6.0031.1600 (I tried with 1400 before, doesn't work). Each time I tried to sign in, it will bring up the windows LIVE agreement thingy, the strange thing is that always got stuck at step 5, and it says "sync failed, no data service or bad reception, blah blah". (I've already unchecked those checkboxes from setup 3 and 4).
All I want is get to WLM running through WiFi. Because, in New Zealand, data service via 3G/HSDPA will got you an arm and a leg, literally!!
Ok, here is my WiFi setup. I'm connected with my work network, and I'm using "work" as the network type, because we have a proxy server. I can browse webpages in IE.

I've tried with WLM 1400 build. Everything is OK with wifi. My hotmail account synced fine. Messenger is ok too.
You have to make sure the internet connection is really running and you really can browse webpages as you said earlier.
Do you have an account with Hotmail.com/Windows Live mail?
If not than create one by going to www.hotmail.com (http://www.hotmail.com)
Sync failed normally means that your email is not Hotmail.com/Windows Live mail account.
It said " ...No data services...Hmmm! check your connection again with your company IT person. Do make trial and error.

uninstall 1.5...install the 2.0 attached and lets see what happens. if the problem still happens install the zoomsms cab...when it tells you you'll have to uninstall the other version just hit yes.

Yo mate,
what's the reasoning behind unhiding the wireless tray icon? (this is the same as the "Com Manager Icon", ya?)
at the mo, I'm using HTC Custom, and it hides both the Battery and the Comms manager together, so i can't separate it..
even using RegEditor to turn the Dword to "1" instead of "0", after softreset, somehow it still goes back to "0"..
Next, regarding your Chinese SIP, do i still need to install CE-STAR to read chinese or the font is already built in in your ROM?
lastly, any chance to put it in yousendit and not the megaupload?
I'm on TNT2 now. seems quite stable (2days, no HardReset yet), but since yours is coming from a neighbouring country (I'm in sg), i may want to use this instead. perhaps when i travel to msia, i might be able to get stable 3G from DIGI or Celcom :)

I can answer your question regarding the Chinese SIP. If you are running the WWE CTJ build, you don't need CE-STAR as the font is already built-in. Please tell me what do you think of the Chinese SIP, I think it works alright for me. if you have came across a better SIP please let me know!

if i want just chinese SIP support (and English of coz), I'll just download the WWE version (ie. NOT the "WWE with Chinese, japanese and Thai lang minimum supports") right? coz i dun need japanese and Thai..
also, any chance to mirror this somewhere else? yousendit boleh?

hey cyphol, im looking at the advance config tool and i've always wondered about some settings int eh performance tab. The three options.... glyph cachce, file system cahce and file system filder cache. I noticed the file sustem cache is already maxed out, while th other two still have more options available. lets say i increase the glyph to 131072 and the filter cache to the the same 131072. What are negatives and positives. Can i do these tweaks and not lose stability?

Hiding the CommManager Icon will ake your device slow at the first boot time after the tweak. Sometimes it seems like it hang on the 3rd splash.
Regarding the CE Star, @rzanology has answered your question. CE Star will bloat your device.
After changing registry keys etc., shutdown (let it off for a few sec) and switch back on your device using the power button.
Since your're using TNT 2.0, you can stcik with it because it's as stable as mine only that mine doesn't contain many apps like TNT 2.0 does. So you will have to install the 3rd party apps yourself (freedom to choose). But still trying is better for own satisfaction.
Thanks.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\Rotation\LandscapeMo de=1 (DWORD decimal)
Left-handed (For your purpose): <---------

Hmm, ya noticed that it uses 6Mb or something.. (guess it's the big font ya?)
well, i would really like to try ROMs before settling down. would it possible to place it on something else other than Rapid share?
i am also using poor man's pushmail (emoze), and it seems that in TNT2, it sometimes freezes while emoze is running. plus if power falls below 20-30% or if program memory is low, the system gets unresponsive and most of the time start menu cannot be activated too.
I just want to see if i get such issue with your version. plus u seem to have a newer Radio :)

I believe you can pay something like 2$ per month to retain your own domain name with mail2web.
What I did with my hotmail account was setting a reply to adress of my own domain name e-mail adress. That works perfectly.....

hey cyphol, while using voice commander i noticed it no longer works over my bluetooth ear piece. where do i go to enable that?
Hmmm. Please upload the package you used. I'll check what's the diff between yours and the original. If any diff found I'll let everybody knows so nobody will ever use the incomplete package anymore.

I've got a same problem. But it isn't worked on any of WM6 ROMs on my Hermes.
I wondered other problem now. When I install kaiser dialer, my battery ikon is changed to the version without percentage. Can it be fixed or I will have to DL another dialer?
First picture is after installing Kaiser 3g dialer. Second is before.
When you said it's not working, I've tried mine. The result is... "It's working!"
Which Kaiser dialer did you use?
I've used the Schen 3G Kaiser Style Dialer. The step to install is:
1. Goto this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=322463
2. Install SDKCerts.cab (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=47673&d=1187681913) (Actually it's cooked in but just to make sure it's there)
3. Install Kaiser.3G.Dialer.For.Dopod838Pro.Official.WM6-Schen.cab from Kaiser.3G.Dialer.For.Dopod838Pro.Official.WM6-Schen.cab.zip (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=47672&d=1187681881) ---> Do not restart.
4. Install HTC.Kaiser.3GDialer.v2.0.Accumulative.Update-schen.cab (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=48798&d=1188580356) ---> restart.
This one should work flawlessly.
If it still not working, you must tell me what exactly did you do before the first Kaiser dialer installation attempt. The battery icon driver is completely compatible with Schen's package.

I installed the mg360 this morning. The device hard rested itself twice. In the third time after resetting, the device starts to boot, the splash screen appears, then animated windows screen and it says loading windows after that a white screen appears and the device stops.
I tried to reflash it but the upgrade utility reported error in retreiving the information from my device.
what can I do now
Bad flash!!!
Have you installed the 2.10 Ollipro 's hard-spl before flashing?
have you try re-upgrading using the bootloader mode?

Hi, Fellows!
I can't register my account on MoDaCo forum to get WM5Torage latest version. I did even send an e-mail do admin, but i can't receive any response from him. :(
Please, can anyone send me or post here the latest beta version and the latest stable version?
You can even send to my e-mail ecfgarcia@terra.com.br
I'm going to try this one out. Version 1.75 is not really compat. with every WM5/WM6 ROM.

My GPRS finally works! What did you do differently for it to only work on your ROM??
Nothing. It's the same drivers as others used. The only difference is I never make the ROM too lite or deleting every single file until it's become very lite. Big space never mean it's reliable. So that's why you'll find my ROM is not as big free space space as others.

Who else has noticed that the battery life has shortened with this rom?
I had a 100% charged battery and it went down to 10% within 2 days. All I did was playing MP3 music over bluetooth for four hours (BTW, WiFi is always off). And last night I noticed I still have 40% battery, so I left the device over night (wifi Off, BT off), when I come back this morning, the device turned itself off due to low power.
Who has also noticed this? or is it just me with a dodge battery???

The TNT 3.0 beta base ROM is the latest and as fast as my current base ROM but surely faster than DOPOD.
Stability? I don't know.
I won't do another ROM based on T-Mo for the time being.
WLM is not and won't be included in the ROM if I make one. You still can find it in the first post as a separated installable cab. Same goes with the HTCHome. Why? Because many asked me not to include them as ROM apps.

Time will tell. If I have enough spare time...maybe...but normally not from other's already modded ROM. So If I'm doing a new one, it will be based from unmodified ROM to make it easier for me to trace errors.
For the time being, if you want a newer ROM based on the latest developer's ROM available, Try the TNT 3.0. He's a good and eperience cook. You'll have a good base OS on your device but if you prefer an older one but not that very old one, use mine or TNT 2.0, Schap's, Sleuth's, LVSW's etc.
I'm telling you again, Big storage does not mean stable ROM.
If you want a very big storage, I can't help you because I'm cooking ROMs for my own daily usage and need an as stable OS as I could have on my device.
I'd say, I've achieved maybe 70% stable and reliable ROM of what I'm intending to have. Satisfied? Not yet.

ok. you mean HTCHome will come as a separate cab installer?
if you are cooking a new one, could i suggest a few requests?
could you do the same for the Chinese, Japanese and Thai rom too?
ie. separate cab installers for these. i need Chinese (Simplified?) but not Jap or Thai..
and if Mobile Office could be separated too, it would be great. so i can attempt to install it to storage card instead of device's main system memory.

2. How do i disable the zoom thingy for missed calls?
3. a method for separating sms/mms? Im almost positive ive read u cant previously but just makin sure.
4. Despite ur warning, i still remove the comm tray. However, when on vibrate, the little vibrate icon still comes up at the bottom. Way to disable that?

i have a major doubt
hi, i always like to test new roms that are released.
But after one rom change i am unable to call numbers starting with +1 but when i try to edit them and remove the +1 and try the call it works.. what could be wrong.i noticed that this happened to calls within toronto ( my home town) alone and not with any calls to outside canada or to the US. i tired to change the radio version and also played different rom s available but nothing seem to solve this issue...
SO i thought that it was a network issue and left it alone as it was impossible to work this out with ROGERS ( my network provider)
But now when i used cyphols gold edition i was able to make calls with any no. that starts with +1 , ie local or not
TOday i changed to this V 8 cooked with pandora kitchen and i found that the issue is back...
so can any expert or novice like me tell me what is that is different between cyphols gold edition and other roms thats making this happen....
i have posted this query in pandora thread as well

Thanks mate! that is very helpful!
I was testing your ROM, seems that there is a lot of Program memory taken up ..
i've installed the ZTA4, Batti Battery, HTC X-Button, Emoze (always ON), and on today, HTC Home, HandCalendar
and I'm already down to 15.79Mb free for Prog Memory.. (36.96Mb Free for Storage)
I softreset before the customisation screens appears (after screen alignments) during initial installation, but i still see things that i dun need (ie. Internet calls, ZoomSMS..).
is it not possible to bypass installation of unwanted apps anymore? or should i soft reset at screen alignment page instead?
with emoze running (GPRS), and my attempts to surf net (via WiFi), it would take just a while (maybe surfing 3-4 pages), and i will feel a speed decrease in the device.
This should be due to low Prog memory, right?
Any solution to give us a basic ROM (strip Office even!) and we place in "the rest" ourselves?
THANKS !!!
cyphol
2nd October 2007, 12:48 AM
No, I won't do a stripped version and you'll have it as is. Why? Read the posts in this thread.
Usabilty? For me, yes. It's very usable and stable but you've just tried it already.
There's many variants of stripped cooked ROMs in here. You have Dutty's, edhaas's etc. Find a ROM which you think is giving you the most approriate.
Stick with it? It's your decision.
Low memory? Base ROM's bug (or maybe not a bug but that's what you get for speed).
Which one has a better memory management? Wait for Dopod official base (GM360 Silver).
Why it's called Silver Edition? T-Mo base (Gold Edition) is faster.
and I'm already down to 15.79Mb free for Prog Memory..
In my ROM, it's normal and OK. In others ROM, I don't know.
Currently, TNT 2.0 is based on Dopod official.
Anyway, thank you for your comments but the answer is still .... Read the above statements.

Cyphol, I have been testing your ZTA4 Chinese SIP, but have found out that the pinyin input only works with the on screen touch screen and not the slideout keyboard. If this cab file does not work with keyboard, can you include a Chinese SIP like the the Microsoft Chinese SIP that included in the CHS (Chinese Simplified) Roms.

Thanks mate! I like yours because you have the fonts cooked in and all the registry pointers set for the font!
there are instances where i have to HardReset while I'm out, and it is especially useful because after HR, i can read Chinese immediately without having to go to a PC to install CEStar.. (although i've got CEStar free from dopod when i purchased the 838pro..)
as for the chinese SIP, my issue is, whenever i softreset, the default keyboard will always be the Chinese SIP ie. ZTA4 even though I've used the "Input Method" app you placed in System Tools to default to "Keyboard"
For available program memory / RAM, i've upped it abit by tweaking Glyph from your default 32768 to 8192.
15-16Mb free is fine for normal usage, but once i start surfing net, it gets real low..
I've got instances where, while surfing and a phone call comes in, i have a hard time trying to answer it. the system will stall a bit when i try to press the Green phone button to answer it..
anyway, keep up the good work! until i've figured out how to recook a liteROM myself to incorporate chinese fonts (and probably Chinese SIP), i'll have to take what is available :)

The little start up tune on the second splash, can you tell me where that little sound file is stored? When i use spb backup to backup my phones settings, it does'nt seem to backup that sound file. Or is this file hard coded into the os?

Yes ZTA4 doesn't support Hardware keyboard. That's why I said minimum support for Chinese etc. If you want a complete one you've to find it yourself since I neither can read nor write chinese.

One for sure will be named GM360 Silver, based on Dopod Official or similar and I also thought about releasing one based on latest Chinese discussed at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332375
I've already looked into it but it seems that the original cook doesn't want us to use the ROM as a new base ROM. It's complete as a ready to flash ROM but not by means of important config files needed for us to recook it successfully.

Has anyone faced any crashes that forced u to hard reset on this rom? I just flashed this ROM to my friend's Hermes and it crashed a couple of times. Maybe it was caused by the third party softwares i installed in the device. All Softwares are installed in the device memory, and total memory left was about 20 mb. Some of the softwares are: lexisgoo 3.0, Hicalc, pocket plus, spb diary, core player and some games.
Any comments anyone?

Hmmm... try to check with and without SPB apps then tell the results here. It's not good. Not good at all. We've to know the cause of such behaviours.
