I have battery problem with my i-mate SP5m. One month back it got wet in the rain(few drops). After that the LCD screen light is not going off, so the battery dries soon. Everything else works fine. The LCD goes off only if I switch to flight mode or remove SIM or connect charger or connect USB cable connected to computer.

Has any one faced this problem? Any software that force switching of the LCD?

It seems to be a hardware problem, I should go to i-mate service center but I void the warranty by upgrading to WM6. Any pointer to install i-mate ROM back from WM6?

Thanks
Sam

You might have also voided the warranty by getting it wet, check the little piece of paper under the SIM card. If that is pink/red then you are out of luck on warranty.

If not, wouldn't you be able to flash to the i-mate ROM and take it in?

I tried hard reset but the problem remained. Now I am going to downgrading to i-mate rom(http://www.clubimate.com/support/SP5m/ROM/i-mate_SP5m_WWE_2.6.331.2.zip) .

Fahtrim : the paper color is pink :( Does that mean some short circuit..?

That means it got wet, when that paper is pink, the warranty is void as they can prove you've gotten the insides wet.

Sorry man.
