Language change a696 BIG PROBLEM

I have bought the german version of a696 and I am stuck. I can`t change the language to english. None of the solutions for other devices seem to work with a696. I am a winhex noob and the whole thing is killing me!!! The codes for other devices do not match, patches of update tool - same story. Could someone please help me out ??? :( :( :(
