The Wait is Over. Its finally here!! Athena Project Black Touch Edition by PK 2.0[added battery fix test cab to page 43 9/19]

This ROM is what u guys have been waiting for and requested. It is the best of the Athena Project ROM series. The best part of this rom is we have gotten a exclusive license from teksoftco.com to put in there FingerTouch keyboard into this rom. This is the best keyboard you can get for the athena and its in this rom and is the full version. They also made it work for all realvga dpi and customized it for us. thanx to Teksoft again.

Whats new u ask??Well heres the list:

Vista Device Center integrigation fixed. Now shows Athena
PocketCM removed and stock contacts is back.
Tray App removed due to problems.
Shantz Today Changer removed and cab in addons. had problems and it made space for other stuff.
no more reg edit for extended rom(caused activesync problems on dopod devices)
All fixes from fixes cab(btIO fixed, one note fixed, tsk fixed,pim backup 2.5)
vue flo fixed(had bug where u couldnt use it in opera)
all office apps should now work and load much better
bt issues fixed(was in fixed version of fixes cab)
theme is now gloss black and theres a cab in system for those that link to get it back after changing theme etc..
network band set to auto
removed games to provide space for realvga and keyboard.
real vga 96dpi and 128dpi cooked in
teksoft FingerTouch cooked in(this is the full version licensed exclusively to AP Touch 2.0)

Special thanx to teksoft for FingerTouch(thank you very much guys and gals), cmonex for fixing notes which also made the rom release today possible, hdbueller for testing, hirad_sabaghian for testing and the welcomeheads, ltxda, Mackaby007, boinger, walshieau, Shadowmite, pof, bennec83, and anyone else i am forgetting. It wasn't there when I installed Pocket Breeze (Could it be this that's causing the problem?) but was when I installed Resco Explorer.
Now I can't store my mail attatchments on the storage card as it doesn't see it.

Just installed all the cabs - changed my home location on the weather plug in and my phone hung!
Rebooted and it won't - I get the red writing then all goes black, don't get as far as the splash screen and no light on even when plugged into mains... doesn't look good!
hopefully just a temporary hitch....
Taken memory card out and still no sign of life - I installed most to card except today plugins. Have I installed something to the card that needs to be in main memory?
I appear to have bricked my device and might need to reflash if no one can help.
I am re-flashing - got back to my computer and it was still copying files to my Ameo - I think I disconnected it while it was still copying so corrupted something - my bad :( - please feel free to flame as necesary b- I deserve it ;)

Does the HTC Home Customiser need to be in main memory? I installed it to the card- is that where I went wrong?

well seeing how as you have 256 mb rom and almost 140 usable i install everything on the device itself...

but to answer your question you should install the htc home customizer on the device ...

i doubt it will work off a card

Well it did - but was very slow, so I un installed it and put it on the device.
I now hav the ROM and all add ons running without a hitch and will start installing my apps again.

I am to used to having devices without enough RAM where you had to install everything possible to card! Guess you don't need to with the Athena.

Everything was working fine. I tried WMP and it hung so I rebooted, no problem. I then tried WMP again, it hung so I left it to see if it would evenually start and went and had a bath, came back and it was still hung so I rebooted and same as before- Athena is dead :(
I had installed quite a bit so will now re flash and just install what is supplied and Tube London (as I am going there this afternoon) and see what happens - but I do appear to be having problems. Any one else or is it just me?

as far i am concerned, with the imei-check unlock method, this rom cannot be upgraded to the x7500, i had the same problem as you

to my knowledge, imei check temporarilly unlocks the phone so to be upgraded, which means that is has to be run every time before an upgrade (i could be wrong here, someone please correct me)

if you read carefully, this rom needs the device to be unlocked by olipro software only. (hope i am not mistaken)
i did it and worked fine.
when unlocking there is always the risk of killing the device and this is the responsibility each of us take.

personally, i have never bricked a device and i have done a good number of unlocks and rom upgrades, always followed the instructions word by word from the (in my opinion) genious people in here.
however, the risk is always there as i said and there is no one to blame apart from ourselves.

finally, if you have your doughbts, do not touch

Are you sure about that? Just tested a call with Keizer and works well.
Maybe it's just a dialpad issue? I always install the zombienexus vga video dialpad after every flash. Will remove it and give feedback. Others can try and let us know :cool:

My only beef so far is that the HTC home is sort of "compressed" and so not nice on screen so I disabled it.

We're putting a temporary 10 button Comm Manager in the addons so you can use it under 128 and 96 dip. Not 92 ;-)

This shouldn't be installed by those using regular 192dpi because it doesn't display properly on some devices. It displays MUCH better on higher res, 128 and 96, than the stock even though it's not perfected yet.

PK is preparing this now and will upload it shortly.

FilterFS is a feature not a bug. It's used for Terminal Server and RDP sessions, etc. Something else is causing the problem. Most likely Pocket Breeze as you mentioned.

I believe you need to do at least the first step, depending on if your phone is SIM unlocked or not. Step 1 gets you past CID unlock, Steps 2 and 3 take care of the radio SIM unlock. I only did the step 1 and have flashed this and other ROMS without issues.

- Option 1: You can synch your contact list and calendar with Outlook.
- Option 2: If you're running 1.0 of this ROM, you can use PIM Backup.
- Option 3: If you're not running 1.0, search and install PIM Backup.

Guess you could use WMStorage included in both ROM's to backup to your PC, best way. Since you have an x7500, it came with a backup program which can do the same for you and backup your MD to your SD. :-)

Thank boinger66 guys cause if he wouldn't have spent an ENTIRE WEEK troubleshooting, Dopod users wouldn't have been able to flash this ROM...yet...and it may have held up the release for everyone else. ;-)

Thanks for the update. FYI, you really can't brick a device if it's already unlocked by just flashing ROM. :-)

That Comm Manager pic, looks all screwed up. Is that the way its going to look once its actually installed? If it is then it needs a lot of work..

I tried to install the above attached .CAB but get the error "Installation was Unsuccessful. The Program or settings cannot be
installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions". I was trying to install it to the Device memory.

I have tried the Kaiser 10button manager before, some of the buttons/functions don't work on the Advantage like WLAN and Bluetooth.

Other than the bad Comm Manager, the v2 ROM Looks great!!!!

Re flashing now - looks like it was user stupidity and not a problem with the ROM.

One more thing for everyone...the best way to flash to ensure the best results...guess i'm paranoid...is to hard reset first, then go into bootloader and flash from there. This will also get you guys better familiar with bootloader mode in case you need it for anything. Don't ask me what you'll need it for, go read. :-)

Yes install HTC Home Customiser to the device, not card. Not sure if that's what kicked off your problems or not but that's the best place for it.

If you don't mind going back and reading the initial post....it's advisable to run Olipro's unlocker first, even if you've done IMEI or other unlocker.

by the way guys teksoft FingerTouch is a keyboard for the athena. its the best out there. has very big buttons and is very easy to type with. it lets u leave the keyboard at home and just carry the athena. We have gotten the full license of it exclusively and a skin. It has also been made up to our specs so it works for 96 and 128dpi and it looks good. Thanx again to the guys at teksoft. Try this, go to RealVGA and uncheck the box for the phone skin. The phone skin provided by RealVGA doesn't have the Video Call button but the stock does. Report back with your findings as this has worked on mine.

Are you sure about that? Just tested a call with Keizer and works well.
Maybe it's just a dialpad issue? I always install the zombienexus vga video dialpad after every flash. Will remove it and give feedback. Others can try and let us know :cool:

My only beef so far is that the HTC home is sort of "compressed" and so not nice on screen so I disabled it.

Video Call button is due to skin change with RealVGA. Just uncheck the box and it should return.

HTC Home works best in 96dpi. It's really for those running at the highest resolution until someone works out the kinks. And it's DAMN PRETTY at 96dpi!

That Comm Manager pic, looks all screwed up. Is that the way its going to look once its actually installed? If it is then it needs a lot of work..

I tried to install the above attached .CAB but get the error "Installation was Unsuccessful. The Program or settings cannot be
installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions". I was trying to install it to the Device memory.

I have tried the Kaiser 10button manager before, some of the buttons/functions don't work on the Advantage like WLAN and Bluetooth.

Other than the bad Comm Manager, the v2 ROM Looks great!!!!

windows media player seems to freeze at high resolution settings 128dpi seems fine at 192dpi

Windows Media player is working fine on my device at 96 dpi. Going to test at 128 dpi now....yep works perfectly under 128dpi also. Make sure you don't have any Today plugs screwing with it. Most of the problems experienced so far are caused by third party apps. Two others tested media player and no issue. If anyone reports otherwise, please do so in the next couple of days if at all possible.

If you have problems with it freezing, report more specific info regarding the issue and we'll try to help out.

I have already started, by making the icons for landscape mode bigger. It you want them then PM me an email address an ill send what I have.
I was able to get the Icons the correct size, but the comm program still places them in the wrong positions. I can edit icons, no prob. but I'm not a programmer to fix the actual comm manager.

I had to use the CAB, posted in the kaiser forums to install, as the one posted in thread won't install for me.

Okay, I just did a hard reset installed a few of the addons (HTC-home, Acrobat, PK task manager, Opera, TCPMP), switch RealVGA 96, reboot, and try WMP and it hung. Switch back to 192 and WMP is working. Hopefully this will help, now I have to reinstall my apps.

I managed to brick my device :( im not to bothered as I can get into the bootloader, will reflash shortly !! the only things installed are pretty much all the add ons from PK addons 2.0 tomtom navigator and MS voice command 1.6 for WM6 !!! I already tried win media player earlier in the day and it crashed it, thought nothing of it and rebooted (HTC media player works fine) after reading somone else's post a few mins ago (win media locked up my machine) I tried again !! once again it locked my machine up (same as last time the words "windows media" replace the "start" link, and then nothing happens !!

PS im at 96Dpi, after soft reseting it has locked on the HTC devs screen !!! tried soft reset several times now !!

theres a reg edit somewhere on net or soemthing like that that allows u to move it around today screen. i believe its HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Today/Items/HTCHome Order=1 or something like that. im pretty sure its in the HTCHome.

the htc home aka kaiser 6 tab plugin works best in 96dpi. thats because of the way the dlls are made. any higher dpi and it will have the text squished/cut off. we are trying to work on this but looks like we need original source code from the dlls from htc.

Hi all.
Sorry too tired to comment right now, but here are is alink to the items you need to get the nice Today screen with the 6 tab plug-in. I designed the MackDaddy theme only for those who like a minimalistic look and who are in a way, trying to replace Spb Shell, Phonesuite and various Icon plug-ins.
It runs and displays best in 96dpi. The theme works in any dpi whether landscape or portrait, but the 6 tab plug-in display best at 96dpi.

The customizer is a fantastic part of the app and allows for many configurable options. I use the Shaps New Colour for icons. That's it. Hope you like it and enjoy the ROM.

I use no other plug-ins and thus have encountered no issues with any software throughout my testing of the ROM all week. Additionally, through the HTC Customizer, I select the HTC Audio manager as my default Media Player...works flawlessly and again displays perfectly in 96dpi only....fonts get cut off at higher dpi settings.

Make TCPMP a shortcut in your launcher and all your media is setup simply with ease of functionality.

Here's the advice from "Mahmood" which worked for me:

"windows media works. Choose the normal VGA (192) and then restart and then open windows media player and then play a playlist. after that go and change the resolution again to 128 and restart and then open windows media player and it will work."

Can't get shantz to work, but I have never used it and have not played with it in the past.

also, I downloaded this with a battery at 100% unplugged it to run some errands and read every post on this thread. I am now at 15% battery. I believe I finished the install around 7:30 central usa. so only about 3.5 hours.

that 10 button comm manager is weird !! before my reflash (fully laden rom with almost all addons plus tomtom + MS voice commander) it would not install !! something to do with incorrect signing, but now I have reflashed nothing installed (not even addons) apart from Vj candella and ms voice commander it installed fine !!!

it is also worth noting that after a while of using WMstorage on my previous install it stopped working, I kept getting error 1f even after a soft reset (and no, I had no other apps accessing the microdrive)

im goting to laden this up and see how it goes !!

Fingertouch is the new standard keyboard we cooked into the ROM. The version provided by Teksoft supports all resolutions that we cooked in. You can use it in standard mode (aka 192dpi), 128 dpi, or 96 dpi and it works wonderfully. This is a commercial product that was exclusively licensed to the Athena Project by Teksoft as their donation to the project/community.

The clock in the today screen with the 6 tabs at the bottom are an addon in the addon archive provided by PK. Look for two files, one named "HTC Home Extra.NewForce.cab" for the Today plug that shows the time and 6 tabs...and the one named "HTC Home Customizer.0.8b.NewForce.cab" for the customizer utility that helps you reconfigure it. Enjoy!

Yea you might be right. battery seems to be lasting a bit longer now its charged again. I will see what its like in the morning.

On another note, when connected to wifi, when you turn off the power, and then back on the conection status remains the same, like when power is off you are still connected to wifi. I wonder if this has anything to do with the power drain.

Okay just tested something else, in previous roms even original, the time I had read a web page or email then went to reply my wifi signal had dropped, and i had to either open com manager or power off and then on, to regain signal, even though it looked like it was connected, now this is no longer the case. SWEET.

The Comm Manager works but it looks its best under 96dpi. The other resolutions cut it off.

i am currently rigourously testing for the battery drain issue ... i have 2 batteries so i am using all kinds of combinations etc.


i had this issue once before ... but my device was extremel warm...

i am currently rigourously testing for the battery drain issue ... i have 2 batteries so i am using all kinds of combinations etc.


i had this issue once before ... but my device was extremel warm...

if you could please tell me the battery temperature when you are experiencing this drain that would be great.. thanks

I had the same before felt like it was going to melt, that was the first thing i looked at this time, everything ok, now been off the charger for 40 minutes with about 20% drain, but i have been using wifi and bluetooth to transfer files from my pc to MD. checked email about 5 times and a quick 5 min on the net looking at the speed.

I have reflashed my device, set ip up as normal but without installing anything (other than whatever it installs when it runs the "customising device" part of setup)

Before I run RealVGA, I have clicked "Start/Programs/Windows Media" and it loads up and works correctly.

I then exit from Windows Media and click "RealVGA" and select 128DPI, click ok and the device resets

When it has reset, I now click "Start/Programs/Windows Media" and the text "Start" next to the start button changes to "Windows Media" and then nothing else happens. The device is totally locked up. Soft reset to fix it.

Have been playing with the media player problem,

I think you need to let the programm fully update the library in 192 before switching.

It hung on my machine first time I used it in 128dpi, as the others reported. Dropped into 192 and it ran, switched back to 128 and it hung again.
sitched back to 192 and let it update the library fully as it came up with a "not properly synced last time message", switched back to 128 and it's working again..

OK, phone running all day, using google maps and GPS to navigate round london, watching progress on bus so screen on for some time while accessing the internet and battery still at 60% - that's good.

Tried VGA fix for WMP and it still hangs - it just does not start. At least I can reboot without it hanging now tho!
All i have installed is:
HTC Home as supplied
Tube London Pro
Google maps

RealVGA running at 128DPI English with Disable phone skins checked oon UK T-Mobile Ameo all 3 steps of Olipro's unlocker run.

I will avoid using WMP from now on as I believe that was what was causing my problems (and Spb breeze) so will now go ahead and install the rest of my junk and see how it goes.

Cannot get it to flash on my Ameo currently on HTC WM6 ROM.
Goes to 1 %, then says file is corrupt and restarts!
CID unlocked via the online service, but is it now locked to HTC?
Tried to redownload, tried with my laptop, and tried the new link with Megaupload, same thing every time. SD card is out!
Can someone please advice me what to do, I would so much like to try this new ROM.

Been away all day, but it is working now, here is what I did.

Ran (only) stage 1 of the unlocker, and after that I was able to flash this new ROM.

Even if I tried to be very precise during the unlocking process, something confusing occured - at some point you are suppossed to click yes in a box when your PDA stops responding, but this never occured, and to get on I had to press yes anyway, after that it went smoothly, and it reported back that SPL had flashed successfully. - So now I think (hope) I have an "unbrickable" PDA, which will flash any ROM in the future...

I only mention this incident, if others should find themselves in the same situation, it turned out not to be a problem at least in my case.

Many thanks to those that offered their help with this matter, and in particular to the developers of this fantastic ROM and among those I believe is also the creator of the unlocking tool.

live search and live have been untouched from 1.0 and from original dopod rom. maybe its the htc home plugin. i remember mackaby said something like it doesnt work right with htc home installed.

To everyone using this ROM and RealVGA.

I was trying hard to figure out how to resolve the WMP issue so I install the 96 dpi package over the one that is cooked into the ROM. I tried WMP again but got the same result (hang). However, this time around I SR using the pin hold, my device did not come up. I try pulling out the battery and some other things, but no joy. Finally I had to HR my device to get it back.

Oh well another late night installing my apps again.

If you're trying to install the Comm Manager VGA CAB from the SD, move it over to the MD and try to install from there and if it's already on the MD move over to the SD and try from there. Am curious if this will have any effect. I had a similar issue on 1.0 and fixed it in a similar way. Let us know.

For the problem of the Comm Manager VGA CAB, I also had this issue. After few tries, I found out that the old Comm Manager was active in memory, even if I pressed the Exit button. Try to check, using Settings - System - Memory - Running Programs, if the Comm Manager appears there. If it is, stop it and retry the installation for the new one. For me it worked.

On the other hand, I also have the issue of the WMP in VGA 96, but I did not bother too much, I set the HTC Audio Manager as the default media player.

Also, I noticed some small issues, does anybody experienced this?
- I cannot activate the WM5Storage when the HTC Home is active in the Today screen. If I disable it, it will activate without problems. I installed all the Add-Ons in the Device and not in the Microdrive and I do not use any SD cards.
- in the Opera - Settings or the PSS Reader settings, in VGA 96, after I set the parameters, when I press OK (in the top right corner), the whole application will close and the Settings are not saved. I had to switch back to QVGA to make the settings.

Other than that, the ROM is very fast and stable.

When I try to change the order of tabs (6) to Home, Launcher, Profiles, Music, QuickDial, Weather, it won't change from the defult (Home, QD, Weather, Launcher, Music, Profiles).

thanks to the team i upgraded last night and I'm using the 96 vga dpi resolution. looking reaaly good just the same bug with

1. wmp freezing had to soft reset
2. no problem installing the 10 button vga comm only problem doesn't show properly it takes up about a quarter of the space but that i think is because of the 96 dpi
3. no biggy but pin pad doesnt show good in and dpi apart from the original resoultion.
4. Tried mackdaddy .tsk looks great but when I put windows live or any other today plugins it just displays over mackdaddy task.

Apart from those I must say this rom rocks.

te software that he is using is iLauncher and the icons that he is using are iphone icons. Download ilauncher install and use iPhone icons if u have.

I bow to Boinger's choice in icons...

After years of working with PDA's and attempting to find a plugin to improve my workflow, including SPB, WebIS and SBSH I've finally combined a thumping great PDA with my mobile phone, something I've tried to avoid... Having used a bluetooth ear piece though I've found it got me 90% of the way there but due to the fine efforts of the Athena Project and boingers inspired use of SBSH's software I now have everything I've been looking for.

I would like to go one better and get a complete set of icon's for iLauncher, PocketBreeze and ContactBreeze to that end I am going to see if the creator of the iPod icons would be willing to do this in return for a donation so I'll let you all know what he says later...

This is without using the device at all in those four hours. I like the ROM overall, but will have to revert to an official one if the cause of the power drain cannot be found.

I have the same problem. I tried it on another device and same thing so it has to be an issue with the plug. Right now we'll focus on the ROM and maybe, if time permits, try to resolve if we can or contact the person who released it and see if they can help. I too had this issue, and it took 3 charge/discharge cycles,but now seems much better. I initially went from 100% down to 40% in 3 hours with no use! Now it seems to be much better and my battery life is noticeably better.
If we need to look at this as an issue,we will!

Wireless Lan Display on Start>Settings>Connections does not appear to be compatible with the 96 DPI Font in Real VGA Mode. Screens are garbled with bad fonts. It's also not quite right at 128 DPI, with some font cropping evident. Looks fine at 192 DPI (normal) font.

You are correct. Not all screens will display properly under resolutions beyond the default 192dpi. Tobias, the maker of the RealVGA files we're using in this ROM may come out with fixes for this as he develops his software. Meanwhile we look for work-arounds.

No problems here with GPS on the 2.0 ROM.
Both Google maps and Tomtom working perfectly. I had to select COM 4 to get Tomtom to work.

There are some issues with Google maps but on all ROMs. Make sure you have the latest version of Google maps. Does any other software see your GPS? If so then it's Google Maps. I also noticed that GPS initially takes a little time to start. Also test Live Search, very similar to Google Maps and has worked with GPS since initial release without any problems that I ran into.

I made a few audio files for the device that i want to upload so everyone can have if they like them but need some help. Need someone that's good at editing audio files. The files need to be optimized, edited so they sound sharper coming from the device and maybe a few effects to make the voice sound sexier. I made the following files, all are a female voice:

- Incoming Call.
- Incoming SMS.
- You have missed calls. (never really used this one)
- Reminder notification.
- New mail.
- Wake up notification.

FYI this time all I'm running is the SBSH trilogy and some well chosen games so no biggy but it takes a while to assign all the shortcuts and icons in iLauncher plus hook upto works Exchange.

I have been running WM6 on a 7500 for over 10 weeks now. I ran the PK 1.0 when it first came out. The 1st time that I have had issues with the battery was yesterday after PK 2.0. I gotta think that WM6 is not the culprit nor is it the hardware(device or battery). Something is using the battery and the only thing that I am aware of that sucks battery life fast is GPS - which I have not enabled or constant edge connections.

I am not going to bash anyone, but I really find it hard to believe that its an interoperability issue with WM6 and my battery(ies).

btw, batti is now reporting that my battery is 109.9 C. Which in theory would be much too hot for any non-super hero human to handle. But it is cool to the touch. This means that i am either super hero human or my batter is not 109.9 C. I also believe it is not even 109.9F.

I have also noticed that the weather icon is continually trying to update. Wonder if this is the issue....

to all those with battery issues. this rom has no drastic changes from 2.0. its same base and just bugs fixed, a few quirks fixed, and added in realvga and the keyboard. i think u guys just need to do what ltxda said and let it drain and recharge a few times and itl be ok. remember we have 1.50 radio coming with this rom and that seems to be a real battery drain. lets hope theres a new radio coming soon with much better battery that i can include. all issues noted and i believe all of them involve realvga besides the battery issues so i will forward them to creator of realvga to fix while the team looks for work arounds.

This sounds plausible, however I have been running various wm6 roms since they first became available, and have never seen this happen before. My battery was down to 10% last night before I fully charged it, and I only noticed the huge battery drain today when the device was not in use. I'll do as you suggest and report back, but at this point I'm not convinced.

Sorry but im not convinced either, was using gps (TomTom 6) while my in car (charger was broke) battery died in 2hrs flat from being plugged in at home (battery was 100% when i left) @ least i knew my way home charged up overnight (14+ hours and today after 5 hours of no use (only bt) no calls texts etc my battery was @5% and device asking to be plugged in to avoid data loss.. so what you have said is not correct as im still having the same issue i will continue with rom for another day and report back (@ least i can use mini usb 2 charge @ work) Sorry if this comes over negative its not ment that way i appreaciate the rom and work, i dont know anyway near as much as you guys, (respect is due) but what your saying here dosent add up in regards to my experience since upgrading yesterday morning... |(thanks for a great rom btw hope we can fix this. think might be possibility of weather trying to update every minute or so with htc home as it seams to be the case..)

A few thoughts: I don't think it can't be anything to do with the default today screen on this ROM (or any today plugins / addons) as my installation of the V1 ROM did not have any of those things (I went back to my previous very simple today screen and plugins) and I still had high battery drain. It is the same with V2 (albeit that I now use the new very smart today screen!). The radio signal is still much stronger. Could it be that the 1.5 radio uses more power....

Installed new Rom onto original T-Mobile WM5 after an olipro unlock (Stage 1-3) and all looks super. Reinstall TOMTOM and it asks me to reactivate as the device id has changed. This I can't do as I've only just upgraded to Ameo from another device. So I install WM6 from duttythroy's post and that gives me back my original device id number and TOMTOM works again. Any one know what gives? How can I install this superb rom and still have TOMTOM working?

Hasn't worked for me, after two complete discharges and recharges the battery drain while idle is still huge. I'll be testing various setups tomorrow to see if I can find the cause.

I do have an Ameo and did have the battery drain (which I put down to excessive playing with this rom).
It's all fine now, and I have all the extras installed.

Yes, I have.... Several people have said that they initially had battery problems, which have now gone. Based on that, I'm going to open a beer, put my feet up and relax. I'll carry on running the 2.0 ROM for a few days and see if it clears up for me too. If not, I'll worry about it then ;)

Trying this now - Ameo nearly dead - will let it go completely and charge overnight. Will report tomorrow evening when it has been working for a day, including DirectPush.

I was never able to get the weather plugin to find information for Austin, Texas. Which could have been part of the problem.

Guys, I have been running WM6 on my 7500 for 10 weeks now. I have completely discharged the battery during usage, gotten it down to 10%, etc all during the past ten weeks.

I am starting to lean towards the battery issue being associated with the weather update. Especially if the weather update is using EDGE.

Without the Kaiser today plugin battery usage appears to be fine.

HTC Advantage x7500. Drained from full to 5% in about 7.5 hours.

I do think this should be a separate thread. I wonder if carrier is also an issue. My battery drain seemed to increase substantially when I switched from AT&T to TMO (USA). I guess I can live with this due to better data transfer rates.

Another thought: I finally reinstalled TeleNav this afternoon, and the GPS didn't seem to do through the long start-up. I closed out TeleNav and it came up instantly an hour later. I wonder if GPS chip is somehow starting up and/or not deactivating. Just a thought.

I think this need some sleuthing to find the commonalities of those with battery drain. Eh, Watson?

ok now 2 hours off charger, 40 minutes of listening to music via bluetooth, 15 minutes surfing, battery down to 90%. if the theory about a new rom is right the easiest way to drain the battery while switched off would be to leave all the radios on. Makes sence now.

This sounds right. I have X7501 from CompUSA running HTC latest WM6 ROM. The first day I used if after charging it up, the device was warm and discharged rapidly. (There were rumors of problems with the Microdrive staying on, and I assumed that was the problem.)

After recharging, the problem went away, and it's been operating normally ever since.

i will get someone to look at the device id before and after and will look into how to change it back. it should be same as 1.0 and dopod rom but coming from wm5 its expected device id would change.

i think this is a issue even with the hermes htc home plugin. will have someone look at it but even if its proved true we are not at this time able to mod any of the htc home dlls. we have tried. if we could we would of had a htc home plugin that works in all dpis. olipro was working on this and gave up bc he needed the original source code for the dlls.

seems like battery issues are mostly on ameos which i remember had issues with microdrive so that might lend a hand and seem to go away after a while. please guys keep testing while we work on the realvga issues with tobias. if the issues are still there after a while then we will get to work on them. theres enough posts here to say that it goes away after a while.
