Hello,

I Have exactly the Same Problem. It works with Orange or SFR but not with Bouygues Telecom. This probleme exist on the TyTn with WM6 upgrade.

I have Call HTC but for now they don't know why. They told me to wait .... This wait costs me 700 €

Best Regards

Salut,

Cordialement

HTC Answer ...

Good morning

We do not have a Beta ROM that we can give to you. We do not provide customers with Beta ROMs. The ROM that you suggested on the World Wide Web is 3rd party and it not a legal ROM. If you were to install this you would invalidate your Warranty with us and we will not be able to help you anymore.

We would suggest that you try a different network. It may indeed be the sim card rather than the device. If you have already tried then it would be worth getting your device looked at by a trained HTC Tech.

We are very sorry to hear that your device is now faulty. Please contact the repair centre below in order to get it fixed. Please note that if the device is found to be mis-used in anyway such as being dropped, then the repair cost will not be covered by your Warranty. We can not give you a replacement while your phone is in repair.

The HTC europe support service is very bad, they don't have any tools to test, they don't want to take a quick procedure about the problem.

there is no communication between their stuff, i called several time, every time they tell me somthing else.

This radio is bloody awful!
When I'm at 1 or 2 bars 3G, it simply hangs when browsing and is better on straight GSM.
Also when the 3G signal is weak I have had problems making as well as receiving calls.
On a couple of occassions it just refused to dial out.
It also drops calls all over the place.
The reception is lousy - I live in central London and usually only have difficulties with a signal in my basement flat but otherwise its nearly always full signal.
With this new Tytn II rom, I rarely get full signal on 3G and am often on straight GPRS.
I NEED A NEW RADIO - PLEASE!

Down in NZ we have this same problem with Vodafone NZ. The phone was purchased from Expansys UK.

Same problem on two different phones.

All services are working okay EXCEPT for inbound phone calls.

Would be appreciated if someone can shed some light on when a fix might be available or who to poke to get some action on this..?

I just baught a new TyTN II after using for the last 18 month the TyTN. It discovers the networks but it does not lock on any. What to do guys?

what worked for me was going to settings/phone/band and selecting manually the network type and gsm/utms baud rate ( i also got a newer 3g card). i would drop calls continuously or not connect, and i wasn't able to send/receive sms. currently using the wcdma setting with the 1900/850 setting with no more problems. the gsm setting seemed to work fine too, but this being my first 3g device, i like to leave it on. it seems that the auto selection in either one or the other wasn't allowing me to communicate with the network.

funny note: when i emailed htc about it, they told me to try my sim in another tytn II and see if that helps, or that my network might not support....

We ordered a number of devices and got two TyTN II's in our shipment.

Both phones behave the same. All services work EXCEPT for inbound phone call. I can sync mail, browse web, accept MMS and SMS. I can make outbound phone calls which makes this all very frustrating.

I have manually specified the settings as you mention zetajunkie, but with no success.

I've tried to get some support out of HTC but they're pathetic. After using the device the last couple of days, I really like it. It would be a shame to send it back.

silly question, but do you know what frequencies you use in austrailia? in the US we use either 850 or 1900, and most of the EU uses 900mhz... and i think AUS uses GSM900 or GSM1800

New Zealand is not Australia...

And yes, I have specified the bands and network type with no success.

Everyone, I have a solution to the 'No inbound call' issue.

It's your sim. I had a 64k sim, and we tested a 128k sim. The phone now works a treat.

I feel a bit stupid now.

This is not about ROM capacity of the SIM card. There are "certain" types of SIM cards not compatible with the new radio stack. It has the same problem as Hermes or Trinity with new radio stack. It happens to some SIM cards issued by French Bxxx (forgot) operator, Chinese China Mobile operator (not all, certain types only), and new NZ operator. There are currently no solution except change to new SIM card.

Absolutely, I agree.

The actual problem as I understand it from discussions with the supplier was likely to do with the clock frequency of the chip on the sim. The only way you can tell this (On our sim's anyway). Is the capacity printed on the sim.

After more discussion with them, generally most problems come from the SIM or the storage cards which are put in to the device. Long story short, pay more, get better storage cards. Or get a try a newer sim.

I've tried 3 SIM cards ( the last from my 3.6mbs data card, 15 days old, all from ATT ) and none work. Can you explain why you believe the SIM is the problem ?

Here are my observations:

- With HTC rom no of my three German SIM cards work EPLus, D1, D2.
- With the French rom all are working 50% of the time. But it is not stable so far.

So there was an improvement but far away from useful 3G phone. I bet the Kaiser was tested just in the US in GSM only networks and nobody really did care about european 3G networks

ATT here in the US was rumored to have delayed release of the 8925/Tilt due to "network registration issues" http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/21/atandt-tilt-delayed-a-few-weeks/. My HTC TYTN II with a GB serial number worked fine for a few weeks, then quit in California, Texas, and Pennsylvania, so widespread. I've tried 3 SIMs, all fail in the TYTN II, works fine in my x7501. I just got a ATT 8925 today to test, the new SIM shipped with it fails in the TYTN II, but works fine on the 8925 with 3g. What is really confusing me now is the radio on both is 1.27.12.11 ! The only difference I see is the "D" is 1.57.00.00 on the ATT 8925, and the "D" on the HTC TYTN II is 1.56.00.00
What is "D" and why is it different ? Is the radio not the problem ?
