MDA PRO doesn't boot after upgrade? please help

Hi guys,
I have an T-Mobile MDA PRO i dowloaded an update i think ist 2.0 cause my mda was quite slow ... i followed the instrucitons on the pc screen and after all it says that everything is done i schoul wait...
but my mda doenst boot :( what can I do??

when i connect it to the pc via usb it always shows that the usb device can't recognized...

i have the same problem with a Qtek version of the Universal.

i'm not sure how it came to be, but everytime i connect it to the USB line on my computer, it comes up "unknown Device"..

there is a red light on the universal up until the computer gives up trying to I.D. it...

...i assume that has something to do with the charging status of the battery... and i'm thinking it's just a pooched ROM, which means JTAG reprogramming goodness. /joy.

anyone else with ideas/suggestions?
