How do i stop it installing all the rubbish?

As the title says, when i first switch my phone on how do i stop it installing all the rubbish?

Poke the soft reset button just before the installation of the 'rubbish' starts. No harm done on to the phone.

How do i do a hard reset to go through it all again cos it's installed it all now?

No offence, but for a person with 32 posts, you are seems to be asking some relatively 'newbies' questions. Anyway, if you look at this screen now, on the top, you get the "XDA-Wiki", which if you go there, to the correct section, you will find all the answers for all the questions you've just asked.

And, as a contribution to others, if you happen to find some other useful information, you might as well update the Wiki as well :)
