Okay, lots of hx2000 users already flashed their roms, now facing the bugs:

# A2DP not working, please try this software. It might work for your IPAQ hx2000 series.

Attached Bluetooth Audio Router. Please give me reports if it works. :)

# Battery Drained Issue: Have you ever left your Pocket PC in your bag for the night and the next morning discovered that the handheld’s battery was flat?

ActiveSync
1) Go to Start> Program> ActiveSync> Menu> Add Server Source, under Server address put 1.1.1.1.
2) Tap Next (bottom right)
3) You’ll get three boxes to fill in: Username, Password, Domain. Fill in xxx in all, tap Next, Finish, Menu, Schedule
4)Peak times> change to manually
5) Off-peak times> change to manually
6) On top right click Ok
7) On bottom right click Menu> Options, on bottom middle click Delete, when you get the warning, click Yes.

You're all done. If you follow this fix correctly (as was originally stated above, it will almost always (as it would appear by others posts( fix the battery drain issue.

Messaging Accounts (Outlook Mobile)
Open up the messaging application. Tap Menu > Tools > Options > select the email account you wish to change, then tap Next > Next > Next > Options button. Remove the checkmark in the box next to "Connect and check for messages every xxx minutes." Then tap Next > Next > Finish.

Notifications
Tap Settings > Personal tab > Sounds & Notifications icon. Select the Notifications tab, and then tap the down arrow next to the Event dialogue box. Select the “Reminders” event and make sure "Repeat" is not checked.

Today Timeout
tap Start > Settings > Today icon > Items tab. Remove the checkmark next to “Today timeout” to disable the feature

HP Protect Tools
Do not use this, except you work for FBI and has lots of secret data.

Running Applications
Tap the Running Programs tab, select the application you wish to close, and tap the Stop button (or you can tap the Stop All button to close all running applications). Be sure all applications closed before turning off your IPAQ.

Power Setting
Pocket PC devices that are running Windows Mobile turn on at midnight to search for appointments for the coming day. Reminders are set and the Today view is updated with the day's events, thus on Battery power, turn off device if not used for 1 minute, Backlight on battery power: 30 seconds.
You can adjust whatsoever you want, the rule is turn off device > turn off backlight.

TODAY Plug-ins:
Better you uninstalled all today plug-ins thrid party progs.

Installed programs on SD/CF running in memory sometimes not respond after you turn on from automatic battery turn off.
It takes between 3-5 seconds to get response and/or sometimes program automatically closed by itself.

Solution: installed the programs in DEVICE.
Tips: Remove any unnecessary files in memory storage, so you will have more ROM memory storage.

After I turn on the device(2490b) from automatic battery turn off every time the backlight on battery power change to 10 seconds, no matter which setting I was choose. Until the device power off(auto or manually) the setting works, but after power on the setting change to 10 seconds again. Have anyone else this issue? Any solution?

Dear All,

Please pay attention that after making changes, installing new software or doing your usual software settings it is advisable to power off your device before soft-resetting.

Example, I recently setup my Inbox mail accounts and soft resetted my device in a usual way. After a soft reset I found out that none of my accounts was actually kept. So, I did setup again, powered off my device and soft-resetted it. After soft-reset all mail accounts were saved and were workable

To limit CPU Usage
1.Do the Activesync Fake server trick then turn all schedule to manual

To prevent Compaction
1.As much as possible free your program memory and install all programs in the SD of CF (if possible)
2.Move all cache to SD or CF (memmaid or SKtools can do this)

abbaml
19th September 2007, 06:40 AM
The above Activesync fix will also fix the problem many are having with not being able to turn on their WM6 unit.

JUST TO MAKE SURE ACTIVESYNC IS MANUALLY ACTIVATED:
You can also check the following registry entry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\ActiveSync\Engines\{176F 4FFD-F20C-4bd4-BDD7-01D0726C567B}\Settings] SyncAfterTimeWhenCradled (x)
Where x is one of the following:
0=Manually synchronize
5=5 minutes. Default value.
15=15 minutes
30=30 minutes
60=60 minutes
120=2 hours
240=4 hours

Hello,

Since I've installed WM6 on my hx2790b it's great for everything but the PIM...

It's impossible to add a contact, an appointment, etc... It tells me "An unexpected error has occurred in this program." And it's impossible to synchronize the PIM with my PC

Any idea ?

Try to flash rom again, but you must do clean reset before (holding 1+power+3+ and stylus-reset). After successful update, u must do a clean reser again (on screen "formatting ps").

Synchronizing with PC, you must use the latest ActiveSync 4.5.

Calibrating your Battery
Power issues you may experience with your iPAQ over time:

* Unit fails to Power On
* Unit fails to charge 100% only holding 50% of the charge

Important: If you experience problems with power on your unit the fault may not be with the main battery. Swap testing the battery with a known good working battery may show the same fault. Calibrating your unit by running the 'Battery Calibration' test may resolve 'Power Related Issues'. You must follow the tests below exactly for good results.

1. Charge the unit for 30 minutes (No More, No Less) only powered by AC Adapter and 22-pin connector and not connected to the PC/Cradle (make sure the unit is switched/powered off).

2. Remove the power and full 'Hardware Reset' and then 'Soft Reset'.

3. Charge the unit again for 4 hours connected to ac power only. By following the procedure exactly as outlined in the steps above this will enable full calibration of the battery with the unit (make sure the unit remains switched/powered off during this charge period).

Note: After a software reset the power Leds (Light Emitting Diodes) should now be on and the battery should be showing 100%. If the unit still fails on power do the following checks:

*Test the AC Adapter at another location/power source.
*Swap test The AC Adapter if possible.

THIS WILL HELP BATTERY DRAINED ISSUE of WM6.0 in some HX2000 series; USING SKTOOL or MEMMAID:
1. KILL BioDtect in Windows Startup
2. Set Credant Manager in StartupService as MANUAL and STOP.
3. Set Standby into 24 Hr in Power Setting
4. Soft reset
5. DO NOT EVER EVER RECHARGE YOUR IPAQ USING USB in the CRADLE!!! RECHARGE YOUR IPAQ USING CABLE POWER SUPPLY ADAPTOR!!!

Hi,
I just got an Ipaq hx2795 and I upgraded to WM6, and it worked perfectly!. However, I saw a supposedly upgraded version of WM6 and i tried to install it, and too hastily I think. I did it without first removing my SD and CF cards. the upgrade said it went through ok on the PC, but it froze on the PPC, about halfway. ever since then, I've only been able to bring up the pda in pre-BL mode. Whenever I attempt to re-load any ROM (WM5 or WM6), I get the error message that the language of my current ROM is unknown and hence, the upgrade cannot go through. To further complicate my problem, I was trying to recover it about 3 nights ago and accidentally left the pda on all night in pre-BL mode. Now I think the battery is dead and I do not know how to charge it. Is there any resource or anyone that can help me with this problem? Is there a way to load the rom and Ignore the language setting on the Ipaq? What should I do now? HELP!!

Please let me know ASAP and Thanks!!

reggae,

You didn't follow step by step the flashing ROM procedure....please read it carefully...as written at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=329079

BEFORE FLASHING ROM: MAKE SURE IPAQ HAS BATTERY POWER ABOVE 80%

AFTER FLASHING ROM YOU MUST: CLEAN RESET AGAIN (FORMAT P.S.) and SOFT reset.

GOOD LUCK!

Hello everyone,

I just came across this forum today, and was very happy to. I flashed my rom from wm5 to wm6 and definitely like wm6 more.

Now for my bug. I'm using an hx2795. Wi-Fi worked in wm5, now after I flashed the WiFi manager will connect to a AP then says 'Driver not loaded.' and disconnect. I saw Anavas' post in the "i will pay..." thread and said that wifi was working on his. So, I'm guessing it's possible to have wifi on this model. I'm hoping he/she or someone else can help me out? It's just strange that it seems to start working (can shortly do SiteSurvey as well sometimes)...

As can be guessed the driver update from HP doesn't work (incorrect revision error).

Resetting makes it works for a short time, but then I get the 'Driver not loaded' thing.

/* EDIT
* This only appears to happen when in the cradle. I took it out and it didn't give me anymore problems...weird, maybe something to do with connecting through usb vs wi-fi conflict?
*/

Thanks a bunch.

CE OS 5.2.1437 (Build 17944.0.3.1)

hi,

I checked with my hx2795 and I don't have any problem connecting WiFi so far,
I can able to connect it from my home and the office.

I even checked with the cradle, I have no problem,

Have you done a hard reset once you flashed the ROM, or did you install any other driver / software ?

I used my ppc at school all day today, and plugged it in cradle just now. I can't repeat the error, so I have no idea how, but it's working just fine. So....solution was to do nothing and let it go away, haha.

I Have Installed Wm6 Pdaviet Rom On My Hx2190 And All Worked Faster And Better.
No Problems To Install From Hp Rom 1.00.01h, Just Update In Pre-bootloader Mode In Windows Xp Sp2 Os. After Flashing No Need To Make Hard Reset, The System Starts Normaly. No Problems It Batery.

-put device into WHITE bootloader mode and again run the 1.0h rom setup. When you arrive at the screen that asks "update" or "cancel",
1. rename the wm5.xxx.nbf original from HP to wm5.xxx.nbf.old
2. rename the new wm6.xx.nbf from the 4pda.rar/pdaviet file to whatever your wm5-wm5.xxxx.nbf.
3.Flashing begin wait until finish. AC power must be conect. voila!!!

Normal Bootloader Mode:
contacts + mail + reset -let go and press calendar to activate

White Screen Bootloader Mode:
contacts + itask + reset -let go and press calendar to activate

Format P.S. (hold down until activated)(screen will say formating p.s. when activated):
contacts + messaging + power + reset
OR (I had to use this to format the p.s. after the PDAVIET rom upgrade)
calender + power + messaging + reset, release reset - release all

Hi!

I have successfully upgraded my hx2790b, but I managed to discover a bug :( . If I am charging the battery with the PDA turned off, the device fails to recognize when it is full (or at least the charging indicator led is still blinking). If I charge it in turned on state, it works. I hope you will be able to find a way to make this thing work too! And by the way thank you for bringing us the upgrade, great job.

Hi guys, I flashed my hx2795 to WM6 from 4PDA.ru and it works well. I had to change a registry to activate extra dialup string to use a bluetooth modem. I also had to change registry to see contrast and error reporting apps. Then installed the Udillak A2DP fix, and every tool I use is working well. I followed all recommendations to fix the battery pack in this thread and others, but the WM6 still consumes something like 3-4% of the battery in standy by mode per day.
I am glad to have that ROM, and as promised sent a paypal to misar, not that much but to thank him for this fantastic work. Thank you all for the help too.
If you know any work to upgrade the 5.2.1437 (Build 17944.0.3.1) to a next like version 5.2.1908, please let me know.
Thanks

Hi,

Has anyone successfully installed WM6.0 on an IPAQ 2410 ?
How is the performance on this pocket pc - is the 64MB RAM sufficient to run this OS?

Is is also necessary to upgrade first from WM2003SE to WM5 and then to WM6 or can one upgrade to WM6 directly from WM2003SE ?

which of the WM6 version is preferred?

thanks.

Dude,

Before you post any questions, just SEARCH. I didn't say you should not ask questions, but searching will save your time, you don't want to keep waiting for some one answer to your questions,

look out the 2nd page of this thread, you will find the link, and here is the whole thread going on implementing WM6 for hx2000 series

hope this help. I am also having 2795 and I am successfully running PDAVIET ROM, so let me know if you need any help if you couldn't find them on this forum :)

So I got the ROM to work and now I have WM 6.0. Everything seems to work great except for the fact that I can't sign into Windows Live or create any email accounts. It brings up an error message with the following: "Windows Live was unable to establish an Internet connection. Please check your Internet settings and make sure that you have access to data services under your billing plan. If you need help, please contact your mobile sevice provider." I was also obviously connected to a wireless network at the time too. I could surf the internet with Internet Explorer just fine, but it seems that Windows Live just wants to give me fits. Does anyone have this similar problem? Anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this?

U should calibrate your battery. Check the pin at your battery, whether it connects to the main unit or not...and finally I hope your battery is still good, otherwise buy a new battery.

Try this:
1. Take out the battery, put it back again
2. pre-bl
3. 1.00.00.H
4. 1.02.00H
5. WM6.0

If your battery is dead = doesn't have enough power to power up Pre-BL, then you should borrow the battery from your friend with same IPAQ model.

REMEMBER: IF YOUR IPAQ IS DEAD, TAKE OFF THE BATTERY IMMEDIATELY and READ THIS CAREFULLY.

THIS UNIVERSAL BOOTLOADER CAN UPGRADE YOUR IPAQ AND SAVE THE DEAD IPAQ FROM FAILURE OF ROM UPGRADING. WHAT YOU NEED IS ONLY THE VALID NBF FILE.

iPAQ stuck in a bootloader loop?
Can't flash using HP's tool due to wrong version no. or corrupted rom?
You're in luck. This is the Universal BootLoader Tool.
--

Download: BootLoader.exe (http://www.freetrafficsite.com/BootLoader.exe)

HOW (PROCEDURE):
Put your device in Pre-BL mode by pressing ITASK(2)+CONTACTS(4)+RESET, and put it in the sync cradle. On IPAQ HX2000 SERIES - YOU WILL SEE "USB CONNECTED", THEN PRESS CALENDAR BUTTON FOR 2-4 SECONDS, IT WILL CHANGE TO "USB".
THEN Select an .nbf file, and let it do the rest.
After finished, do a CLEAN RESET/FORMAT PS (1+Power+3+Reset)

IMPORTANT:
Make sure the .nbf filepath you select does NOT contain spaces or it will warn you and exit.
e.g. C:\some folder\wm6 os.nbf << WRONG
C:\some_folder\wm6_os.nbf << CORRECT
If you are extracting the .nbf from an archive, the path to the bootloader application must also have no spaces, or it will warn you and exit.
e.g. C:\Boot Loader\Boot Loader.exe << WRONG
C:\Boot_Loader\BootLoader.exe << CORRECT

NOTES:
1. DO NOT USE WINDOWS VISTA, ONLY WINDOWS XP.
2. DISABLE ANY VIRUS PROTECTION SOFWTARES and FIREWALL.
3. REMEMBER IT IS BETTER TO HAVE YOUR BATTERY FULL POWERED at 100% BEFORE DOING ANY UPGRADE (for PRECAUTION if something goes wrong).
4. FOR EVERYONE WHO HAD ALREADY DEAD IPAQ, BETTER YOU BORROW BATTERY FROM YOUR FRIEND WITH THE SAME BATTERY AND DO THE ABOVE PROCEDURE.

GOOD LUCK!

I stumbled across this thread and wanted to know:

Is it possible to use this bootloader.exe program with an HP iPaq H5550 (wm2003 device)? If I have a ROM from..let's say..an hx2750 (a similar device but newer and with 2003se) can I flash that ROM onto my h5550 as a way to "upgrade" to 2003se (or maybe even wm5?)?

Hx2750 on wm6 (4pda) working in perfection! reporting minor bugs mainly related with some progams not designed for wm6 but that work fine with wm5. But in general, hp protect tools, bluetooth(phone modem seems also but can't try adp though installed patch), battery, wlan(works better than wm5), hardware in general 100% alright, sd cards and expansion card also! Seems like it fixed also wm5 power on/off bug when on standby. If any has the same devicd (hx2750) and has other bugs plz tell might be I missed something... And please tell me if there is any update to rom... I can't understand russian. Thanks to all of you that helped newbies like me... And you're the best. Big thanks 4pda also!

Greetings to all and a shout-out to all who are making this effort possible.:)

The link to Part 1 seems to be broken as nothing happens when you click on it. Going straight to the root website yields a "Website not available" message. This has been going on for at least 3 days. Any chance of uploading this file to a file-sharing service like Rapidshare, MegaUploads, etc.?

P.S. I tried the other WM6 upgrade and it loaded successfully. However, Bluetooth is still broken. The problem is the Bluetooth stack version 1.7.1.1424 -- it is the same from WM5 which makes it impossible to any Bluetooth device connect via Bluetooth. At least that's the case with the hx2750. Why this WM6 upgrade did not come with a newer version of the Bluetooth stack is beyond me.

In my personal opinion, Misar's rom wm6.0 is better than pdaviet, the only problem is if installed on hx2700 series (which has RAM128M), the page pool is too low. Misar's ROM is only 8M pagepool, pdaviet is 16M pagepool.

For hx2100 and hx2400 series, Misar's rom is the best.
I don't have any problem with BT, it works OK.

abbaml,
what's the significance of the pagepool you mentioned?
How does it affect the performance of the hx2755?
My hx2755 is currently running WM5 1.00.00H.
Is there a way to increase the pagepool for Misar's ROM post installation?
I thought I read somewhere that some registry tweak can be performed to improve the paging file of the system.
Is this related? or perhaps I was mistaken.
Please enlighten me....while I seriously consider upgrading to Misar's WM6.
I need HP ProtectTools by Credant so this is the only ROM for me.

Thanks for any replies!

moe8555,

interesting idea.
I was wondering about that too a while ago.
Someone claimed that he managed to/at least saw a working WM5 ROM in a h5550 over at the mobilitytoday forum.
No news since then.
I've always wondered why HP did not release the h5550 in WM2003SE instead of WM2003...even the h5450 was upgraded to WM2003.
If anyone has tried or has any idea about this, it will give my h5550 extra life for use.

...

Upgraded to 4pda WM6 & it worked great!
I like the responsiveness of my hx2755 now compared to WM5.
The WiFi worked flawlessly out of the box. Did not encounter any of the WiFi hiccups others reported.
Have yet to test the BT stack but I've gone ahead to apply the A2DP fix because I'll need it to listen to soundtracks on my BT stereo headphones.
A few minor observations I made, which I think can be easily solved:
1. Backlight timeout setting for battery operation is not sticky. I have to reset it each time I reset the unit.
2. Customer feedback is not working. I read somewhere there's a registry fix but have not gotten down to it. Was wondering if it is enabled by default or turned off at this state.
3. Biometric fingerprint reader works great, in fact more responsive than when running WM5. It's a pity HP disabled the encryption of Calendar, Contacts & Tasks database in the WM5 version of HP ProtectTools. This was the very reason I bought the hx2755. Does anyone who if the WM2003SE version of HP ProtectTool will work on WM6?

Cheers!

Hi Guys,
New 4PDA ROM : http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=57381&st=210
Seems that some SDHC issues and other related problems with memory are solved.
If you have any other newer ROM, please let me know.

Maybe I skimmed too fast through the link, but it looks like the new release is in Russian???

According to the WordLingo translation of one of the paragraphs,

"Pair of words about that how to be sewn (everything into pre-bl (2+4+[sbros]), by replacement):
* for a series of 2x90 (B) the version of initial piercing - is not critical, whereas for the rest it is necessary to travel longer way at least to 1.02.00H;
* from the English version. You start SP33003.exe you wait until the moment of determination and without pressing key UPDATE, you substitute the file of epakrom.nbf by that that in the archive;
* from the Russian version. You start SP33205.exe you wait until the moment of determination and without pressing key UPDATE, you substitute the file of epakrom.nbf by that that in the archive;

It is required after piercing, Clean Of reset (1+3+power+reset).
PS: For the killed little beasts of responsibility bears none of the enumerated people. I will add that the author repeatedly in the process of development of piercing killed his little beast, but that always have enoud forces again to enter into Pre BL."

Does this suggest that it is possible use this ROM to flash into a Eng hx2xxx PPC resulting in Russian OS or resultant OS is in Eng after following that procedure?

The title of the thread is: hx2*** WM6 RUS
The screnchots of the rom are all with russian and the version as appears on screenshots is the 5.20.00.H(the same with the english one that we have here)
So I think all these mean that this is just a russian version of missar's rom, and not an updated english rom.

Anyone here managed to get the HTC X-Button (versions 1.5 or 2.0) to work on 4PDA WM6 Rom with hx2755?
It either does nothing or does not show up at all.
Even the system X/OK icon goes missing from time to time.

I have the same bluetooth stack (pdaviet) with a hx2410 and it works fine.

For hx2100 and hx2400 series, Misar's rom is the best.
I don't have any problem with BT, it works OK.

Misar's ROM is the one posted on the russion 4pda site?

Hi everyone!

I've been running 4PDA WM6 ROM on my hx2755 over the past 2 weeks & have been satisfied with the results.
However, over the past few days, I've noticed an intermittent SD Card detection problem.
When I wake the unit up from standby or the unit wakes up from standby from a notification event, there were at least 3 occasions where the SD card couldn't be detected.
This resulted in the application in the SD card not being executed.
I had to soft reset the unit to get the SD card to be detected again.
Ejecting the card, waiting for about 10 secs & reinserting it into the SD card slot did not do reinitialize the card either.
The card I'm using is a newly purchased Apacer 100x 2Gb SD card.
I hope this is a card issue rather than a driver bug or SD card slot problem.
Can anyone who's had this experience feedback your encounter & how you resolved it.
Lastly, I used OmegaOne's Pocket Mechanic to benchmark my 100x SD card.
The results were not that promising, owing mainly to the hardware index being rather low. Can anyone with a hx2755 running 4PDA WM6 perform a benchmark of a SD card they are using & feedback the hardware index?
The Anton Tomov PM has a 30 days trial period.
Many thanks!

With succes i upgraded to WM6 on my HX2110. Thanks for all you guys who made this possible!

But now; in WM5 i had about 18 mb. of RAM free. Now, in WM6 i only have 12mb RAM free (initially 10, but after removing the sample images & templates i got 12).

Is there a way to free up more RAM ?

This is expected. If you have been following the thread, most hx21xx models end up with about 10Mb of RAM after the upgrade. This is due largely to the bigger ROM image size (H-high vs L-Low).
My hx2415 also had 10Mb after the upgrade.

The only other way to increase the RAM is to have a L version of the WM6 ROM. That ROM will only run on the hx21xx/hx24xx models.

Untill so far; i dont have any problems. Tomtom & minimo startup without any problems.

But its a big risk to install any application on ROM

That is correct. They did not release a L-version for the hx21xx/24xx series.

Hmm...kinda quiet around here these days.
Thought I mentioned that my hx2755 performed an automatic hard reset the other day.
I was backing up my SD card & then I plugged it into the device.
It immediately reseted itself & greeted me with the Welcome screen!
What is going on?
Since when does plugging in a SD card cause a device to hard reset?
Has anyone experienced this before?
Strange....

Well... after using the WM6 for about 2 months i can more or less define the problems that persist:

1 - Some activesync problems when connect to PC with Vista, Problem sync calendar with activesync also
2- Once the unit Hard Reset Completly deleting all programs, etc... and worst was i didn't got the storage space back. Thus couldn't reinstall the programs and had to do a clean install of the WM6
3-HP Protects Tools once in awhile crash or fails to start and you need to reset the unit.
4-Bluetooth problem just with Resco Explorer... (the send to bluetooth recipient), but works fine SBP Plus...
5-Wifi in general works flawless... no problem with WPA, WEP, etc... just sometimes doesn't shows conneccted when it's not...
6-Rarely (very rarely) storage cards become undetectable, you need to insert them again.
7-Believe some problems are software related...

But though that i'd rather stay with WM6 than with any other version cause of the wifi, newer programs, etc...

Hi bandit2xx,
#1 problem was when device locked by HPPT or already unlocked? HPPT allows us to customize which app to not stop when device log off after standby timeout expired. I notice that AS kicks in only after unlocking. In the pass, normal OS password protected WM devices can sync when docked. Did your HPPT permit you to encrypt Contacts, Calendar & Task? Mine was disabled until recently after the clean reset. Very strange. And I also found out that the PIM.vol database gets locked up (file name modified with .cmg.tmp) by the Credant Mobile Guardian (assuming cmg refers to that app). I had to delete that database or restore a manually backed up pim.vol to recover from the PIM failure.
#2 problem, I discovered my unit suffered that same problem too after the recent hard reset. The storage memory was maxed out (~71 Mb). I had to perform "Format PS" to recover from that. I think the memory wasn't cleaned out even though the registry & system properties reverted to default settings. Now, I use Sprite Backup 6.1 to create a auto-executable backup of the whole system in case it happens again along with a manual backup of pim.vol.
#3 I had the same experience with HPPT once in a while. I think the version of HPPT included in the ROM is not very suited for WM6 but then, that's the only version available from the WM5 ROM. Have to live with that unless someone is a Credant expert who can help debug the app.

Overall, I'm satisfied with this WM6 release. An updated release would also be welcomed, with perhaps features like SDHC & VoIP support incoporated.

Here are the tricks:

Well... after using the WM6 for about 2 months i can more or less define the problems that persist:

1 - Some activesync problems when connect to PC with Vista, Problem sync calendar with activesync also
Do not use Vista, many users reported strange behavior when using activesync

2- Once the unit Hard Reset Completly deleting all programs, etc... and worst was i didn't got the storage space back. Thus couldn't reinstall the programs and had to do a clean install of the WM6
Use SPBBackup to recover all setting and progs in case of hard-reset, it saves your time

3-HP Protects Tools once in awhile crash or fails to start and you need to reset the unit.
Do not use HP Protects Tools, unless you are a "secret Service" agent. Every Ipaq users know that HPPT is a dangerous tool that makes you cry. Use other third-party encryption softwares if you badly need it

4-Bluetooth problem just with Resco Explorer... (the send to bluetooth recipient), but works fine SBP Plus...
I don't have any problems with BT in Resco explorer. I successfully send & receive a big file without problem.

5-Wifi in general works flawless... no problem with WPA, WEP, etc... just sometimes doesn't shows conneccted when it's not...
Use Wifi Companion software

6-Rarely (very rarely) storage cards become undetectable, you need to insert them again.
Nope, I think the SD card is not compatible. Use Sandisk or Kingstone brandmark

7-Believe some problems are software related...

But though that i'd rather stay with WM6 than with any other version cause of the wifi, newer programs, etc...

If you flashed 4PDA ROM then here is the fix for windows live

But I don't have any problem in setting up any email account.

 I have already installed that path, but I'm unable to sing on messenger or setup hotmail account. I successfully setup gmail and yahoo mail accounts...the problem seems to be windows live...

Any advise?

Hi to all.
First day here, first post.

Misar/4pda WM6 at hx2750.

Some intermitent problems with the SD Card. Usually, only a soft reset fix it.
Some intermitent problems with the driver of the WiFi card, as same as with the original WM5 or WM2003SE, so no problem.

For the windows live:
- The cab provided failed, but I've extracted de setup file inside it and begin to compare the files. Seems that the installation provided to us, it's almost the same except that it is an international version.
- I've finished with the following registry modifications extracted at the setup file, and Windows Live is running without the need to install anything:

HKLM\Services\Windows Live\Platform\Transport:
- Dword IncTTL:300
- Dword MaxTTL: 1200
- Dword MinTTL:300
- String Server: tcp.mws.mobile.live.com
- Dword Port: 5001

GOOD LUCK!
