This version is so much better then the one they actually say is for the 8525. I get traffic also, plus a whole bunch of new options. You can download it over the air at

http://ota.telenav.com/ota/tn/sn-htc-mogul/telenav-sn-htc-mogul.cab

It was made for the sprint mogal but works perfect in the 8525.

Hope you all enjoy, whoever uses telenav.

Unfortunately it doesn't work on the TyTN II. On attempting to login, it is unable to connect to My ISP GPRS, 3G... TeleNav then issues the message, "Cannot connect to server. Please make sure that your phone is turned on and try again later".

Any ideas?

Telenav 4.2 for the 8525 seems to work on the TyTN II but I have not given it a thorough test yet.

Telenav say they do not support the TyTN II yet.

Unlocked TyTN II / Kaiser

CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)
ROM 1.56.405.5 - 8/28/07

Since the Kaiser has an internal GPS and the TeleNav for the Mogul and the 8525 force you to use bluetooth GPS neither of those verions will work. But I was able to find this version that works perfectly with it's internal GPS.

http://ota.telenav.com/ota/tn/ipaq6900/TeleNav_hw69xx.cab

It is version 4.2, does anyone know of a 5.2 version that supports internal GPS devices?

Thanks!

TeleNav is a subscription service. Yes, you need an account.

This version worked straight away with my 8525. Of course I have a Telenav account and a Globalsat BT GPS. Traffic works great, and interface is much better.

I am using Radio 1.51 with VP3G. If you see the "Signal Too Weak" message, that usually means your BT GPS module is too far away from the phone.

I am a bit confused by your statement that you need the radio version with GPS enabled. If you are trying to use the GPS chip in the Hermes, I was unaware that anyone had that working, unless you did some soldering. To my knowledge, you need a Bluetooth GPS module to use this apllication with the 8525 or any Hermes variant.

Guys this is an awesome find thanks! I have been waiting for this after many many promised from Telenav "it's coming". I just thought i would shre the following. I hope anyone who cares will also post to the Telenav forums and inform them this srt of deceptive practive wont be tolerated by the mobile community.

Let me first say for "legal reasons" below is simply my opinion/impression you make your own call on whats going on but my mind is made up.

Telenav the AT&T preferred partner for GPS is apparently deceiving users into believing that they currently dont have a way to run their latest version (5.x) on the AT&T 8525. There are loads of users complaining because their purchased the phones thinking they had the advanced features advertised by AT&T such as 3D maps and traffic information only to find out later AT&T was not telling the truth (to clarify I am not talking about the fact that there is no internal GPS, I knew that going in and I was fine with it. I bought Telenav's bluetooth GPS unit).

Although their other versions included this functionality the version allowed on the AT&T 8525 (4.x) was quite old without these features. All the while we were locked into a contract, asked to buy an external GPS, and sign up for new service with ATT, and Telenav service. After nearly a year of frustration I came across this threadand it came to my attention there was a download available marked for a different phone with the same hardware which worked. I downloaded it and installed and as I was told no problems at all. Works fine, tested all over no issues as most here can confirm. here is where it gets interesting.

I informed Telenav of this fact poorly asuming they might care and was promptly warned not to mention this. As well now all my original posts has been deleted, even though they originally responded several times (I have the screenshots). They must have had some internal meeting on how to handle this "leak" and they decided to censor me. As well they have now deleted all related posts in their forum. I was clear to mention this was not supported by Telenav and was for another build, but they didnt care, they wanted NO ONE to know. Why?? I will tell you.

My suspicion which they chose to dance around and would not answer me on was there is a specific reason they are not providing the update and thats business decision between Telenav and AT&T. You see AT&T just released the 8925, they upgraded version of the 8525. And while the hardware is virtually identical, it comes withe latest version of Telenav. It is my position that Telenav is purposly not releasing an update to the software which their customers were duped into purchased based on false advertisement because AT&T wants to force you to buy the new phone to get it. Very Sleezy in my opinion. i want to mare sure it is known that this type of practice will not be accepted my the mobile community and we will look to more respectable vendors for applications. Please make sure to let Telenav know what you think of this.

BTW each time I created a post even remotely discussing this it was deleted. Make sure to check back their forums after posting and you will see. Don't be afraid to open the post again, we will force them to respond. I opened over 10 and each was deleted with little to no reason but something tells me they know i'm pissed :)

ok after a couple of hours of the phone with telenav this is what i got. Fire this address into your pda browser and away you go.

http://otacdn.telenav.com/nav/attnav-htc-tilt/att-navigator-tilt.cab

or you can use this one

http://att.telenav.com/nav/choice/at_att.html

then select AT&Ttilt.

This version will run the internal GPS and is the latest version. Enjoy

This is why I bought the Garmin 10x which works awsome with my 8525, and has all the 3D maps. Plus the reciever works with Live search(which is better when walking), and google maps. Never wanted to give them my money for what I could by for a year of service.

I finally figured out how to add addresses and look up businesses on the web and synchronize them to my Navigator's "Favorites". If anyone is interested here is the link (http://signin.telenav.com/tnsso/sso/home.do?callback=http%3A%2F%2Fmy.telenav.com%2Fmyt n%2FMyAddressPages.do%3Fact%3DmyaddressList): http://my.telenav.com
