Gang: Make sure you're CID unlocked. (Eg, when you issue "info 2", it says HTCSuperCID).

However after reboot I see the WM6 boot screen - loverly ...
Then the Mobile Operator Splash screen ... THEN
After too long ... the phone switches itself off and I have to take the battery out to get reponse again.

Any ideas?

Ok, so a report. The phone boots, goes through WM6 splash screen, then operator screen, then APPARENTLY dead black screen.

BUT I plugged in the USB cable and the screen came on! WM6 Setup screen! All good go through setup eveything looks GREAT!

Only problem is, if I leave the phone alone for a bout a minute, the screen goes black AGAIN. Then no amount of key pressing on the device will bring it back to life.

Plugging the USB cable in brings it instantly back to life! But This means I can't wander too far from my PC ;-)

Heh heh ... seems I'm posting to myself ... that's cool I like my own company ... So I reflashed the SPL and some of the problems have gone away.

Phone will boot OK now ... but it will still "go to blank screen" and require plugging into the USB cable to "wake it up"

I'm out of ideas now ...

Man this WM6 ROM is GREAT! I have it hooked up to Cingular/ATT GPRS great. It runs smooth and nice. No issues yet ...

Ok, report after 24 hours of usage.

The ROM seems very stable. I've replaced the Chinese T9 with an English one, upgraded the Comm Manager.

I have to say, this ROM really brings the Hurricane (C550) BANG up to date. It's become my favourite phone again :-)

Now all I need to do is figure out how to change the Chinese CeleTask for an English one.

You should be able to change the Short_AP2 shortcut in \Storage, if you want to swap out Celetask.

It'd be nice to get a ROM without the MobileOperator screens (something a little more decorative would be nice).

Still, I'll settle for this new lease of life lent to my C550 ;)

ROM works great, but there are few glitches:
1. Backlight thing (registry edit solves it)
2. No MMS (Arcsoft MMS Composer does the thing)
3. No JavaVM (JBlender does the thing for now, searching for better one)
4. No HEADSET profile (help? :) )
5. If i use headset, and then take it out the phone won't switch back to it's own spk and mic (i assume that if i had headset profiel it would solve the prob)

And big font annoyes me, but that can be solved in the registry.

I said it can be solved, not that i know how ;) Now seriosly, i have to go thru some stuff for MPX200 and try to fin where that key is, but i think someone will post solution before i find that.
And now i have a real problem with tis ROM! I plugged my earphones in the phone, listened to music, and when i recieved call after that i coulnt hear anything, it wouldnt switch to phone's speaker. Does annyone know the solution for that. I tried hard reset, but problem persists :( I guess it is hardware thing ie. some register in the processor changed value, but there is no way in WM6 to reset it. I guess switching back to 2003 would help, but that seems to be not so easy thing for me, since i'm new to HTC phones.
Until then I have beautiful multimedia/SMS toy...

I already applied a new SPL for the 566.bin ROM so are you saying we have to apply the SPL in 'Lazaj007.zip' before trying this new '922.bin' ROM?

Would you be able to post directions for navigating through the Chinese to get to the Regional settings to select English?

If you go to the Storage folder on the phone you will see a number of files Short_AP2 etc. If you copy them to your computer and open with notepad, you can change the program that is launched. For example i have changed my button 2 to load messages, if you open it, it will read: 19#:MSINBOX?:mailapp

Once you have changed the program to the one you want to launch (you need the acutal program exe name) save the change and copy the file back to your storage.

Hi Lazaj007 thanks for posting the links for everyone, i have tested the rom too my thoughts...

Pros:

Nice windows mobile 6 splash screen
No ugly mobile operator second screen
Nice GPRS icon
Nice battery icon
Resco Explorer built in

Cons:

Hard to setup ! All in chinese by default
No Office Mobile (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
No Games
No Marketplace
No Windows Live
(No Windows Update - useless anyway!)

Lastly, the memory available with this rom is less than the 566 rom...

Overall i like the extra memory available in the other rom and office mobile built in although you can install it seperatley...

I installed this ROM today, just to compare with the 566.bin ROM.

I like like the new splash as the phone boots, looks very classy.

I don't mind that it doesn't include a lot of APPS, I keep all my CABS on the storage card (marked read-only) and had everything installed and running in 5 mins.

I like the ROM a lot, the issue with the headset profile issue present in the 566 ROM is also does NOT seem to be present in the (922.bin) ROM ..whoo-hoo

However, I also noticed that you can't send TXT messages, the NEW menu seems to be hidden when you try to select it.

I also tried to install Arcsoft MMS but got a message telling me i didn't have permissions to install ...

Everything else seems great ... although not sure about the GPRS Incon ;-)

Hi All,

I just changed my regisrty as below and now my phone is dead.
Its not powering nor its getting into bootloader :confused:

Change your operator name
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\RIL\Operator Names]
There add a string value named with your network number.
Then change the value (data) to the name preferred.

Any suggestion...please i was quite happy with the upgrade but, its a great tragedy now :(

You will need to download the english version of CeleTask and copy the executable into the Windows folder on your device ... this will fix it.

I don't know if it is old news, but reverting to 2003se is possible and very simple.

You just have to get into bootloader mode (tricolor screen, whatever it's called) format filesystem with mtty (format BINFS), reboot, get in bootloader mode again, and apply T-Mobile upgrade.

It worked for me, since i had no other solution for turning headset profile off, and now i'm on WM6 again. Spfans rom (566) works like a charm for now.

Could anyone explain in detail, how to upgrade to wm6?

I have SPV c550 fully unlocked and ready to be flashed.
I turn it off, press camera button, then plug in the usb cable -> bootloader appears.
I run mtty, issue 'info 2' command, it works as described before, then 'format BINFS', it also succeed, but when I type 'l c:\928.bin' I got an error message that the buffer size is too small [29 3?? ???] (i don't remember the exact number).

I use the rom downloaded form the last link in this topic - 5X6WM6_0928_song_pp8_by_Sky

I've downloaded Ur archive, Lazaj007.zip, connected my phone to ActiveSync, run Patched_RUU.exe and followed all the instructions given, it said that all had been successful.

Hi,

I installed the rom this way:

-unlock Super CID
-upgrade new SPL (Patched ruu)
-disable USB connection in ActiveSync
-switch off your phone
-press and hold camera button, and put USB cable to your phone
-next check "Y" (to get that, press 0 (you have to be quick))
-when your phone will be in bootloader mode (tri color screen) run mtty
- check USB connection in this program
and write: - info 2
- format BINFS
- l c:\566.bin (localization of your rom)
after succeful installising reboot your phone and it will be end

maybe you forgot to type "format BINFS" or you have the same problem I had. I forgot to check "Y" before the Tricolor screen appeared

This soft is very fast, good working etc. but battery is very short. I must charge my phone every day. When I have original rom (WM2003 sp2 orange) I must charge a phone one per 3 or 4 days.

Hi,
I have passed first stages of upgrading process, but "stucked" on "-next check "Y" (to get that, press 0 (you have to be quick))".
There is no any menu where I can check "Y". Tri color screen appears immediately when I plugged the USB cable (the Camera button is pressed).
Any advise will be very helpful.

I have already found the problem: unexpectedly for me, the phone wasn't SuperCID unlocked, but as I remember it was one of the firsts thinks that I did when bought it.

after upgrading I have only 2 bluetooth profiles on my device - Network Access Point, which isn't working properly and Voice Gateway...

I can't even send file to my device via bluetooth...

Is there any way to add more bluetooth profiles?

This may seem like dumb question but please can someone tell me how do I use the .nbf file and upgrade SPL?

From what I know, you have to format memory card and then transfer the .nbf file to the memory card, insert the memory card back into the device and then run it into bootloader and it should work.

I did this but when I go into boot loader nothing happens!

Would someone please be kind enough to tell me how to do this or point me in the right direction?

Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Nope BlueTooth worked fine for me, I sent a file from my TYTN to the C550 running 928 no problems.

i dont know where is problem. when i try to send something via BT to another phone (i was try to two phones) then they get back mi error message. i was try send different file format, from diffrent pleace but it doesnt work.

I also can send files from my phone and I even managed to recieve files using the program Terminal.

Anyway my device have only 3 BT profiles:
-NAP
-PIM transfer
-BT headset

That's quite odd for nowadays.

Even usual phones have more BT profiles than here...
I feel lack of HID, ftp, OBEX, COM port, etc...

But this profiles are somehow mentioned in registry, I found keys with them there.
I think the Chinese just cut off some necessary dll's from rom, as they've done with .NetCF2 which is not present in rom, but also have all the keys in registry. This probably can be solved by copying this dll's from any properly working wm6 rom. (Recently to make the program CallFirewall work, I had to copy 4 .Net assemblies from tornado rom, 'coz this prog required .NetCF2, may be this approach will also work for BT problem)

Guys i have a very weird problem regarding this rom: WM6for5X6精简宋体 modify by MGP

It flashes ok, it does the initial setup (in chinese) and then everything is fine in chinese, programs run fine as far as i can tell, and it restarts fine... HOWEVER when i change the language to english and restart the phone it stucks in the loading screen the one with the orange logo (the new spl) saying the clear hive and clear part 2, and then a white screen (backlited just white) buttons do nothing except of going back to the orange screen. If i clean partition 2 in bootloader screen it restarts fine goes into chinese and you are prompted for wm6 setup again and the story goes like this for ever.
Is there a problem in the english language files? although i would imagine that the english is by default an option in all roms.

Anybody help?
also could someone post the latest rom in a file sharing server (rapidshare, megaupload etc.)? i cant download it for some reason...

to install the nbf you should make an active sync connection with the smartphone, run the patchedRUU and have in the same folder as the patchedRUU the spl file you want to install. The device should be just normally connected with USB, no bootloaders and such... you will be prompted with a few questions and that will do it

I got exactly the same message when I tried to flash my c550. The problem was in old SPL. U must have forgotten to upgrade it. Connect Ur device to PC in bootloader mode, then run PatchedRUU.exe and follow instructions.
after that again in mtty type 'info2', then 'l c:\566.bin'

yes, but it came out that when i did for the first time it didn't upgraded!!! I had to do it another time and now the phone is flashing

If you have problems to flash WM6 then try again to unlock your phone. Sounds like the CID or application unlock procedure did not take correctly.

Yes, i looked at the settings but it is the same as the other kingsen rom, only chinese.

I put the old 1010 sky rom back on again, i am still looking for Dutch Language Pack for these chinese roms.

Has anyone tried to run a Compact Framework 2.0 App on the Sky 1010 ROM? It says it can't find the framework but when I try to install it from a CAB I get a message saying CF 2.0 is already present in ROM :-(

Just got my second-hand T-Mobile SDA II Music today... this is what I did:

1. Downloaded this file http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=48538&d=1188371796 and application-unlocked my phone.
2. Downloaded http://www.spv-developers.com/content/SPV-Services.zip and extracted it to C:\SDA (choose whatever you like)
3. Connected my phone to my PC and copied the cert.cab file to it.
4. Started file explorer and installed cert.cab
5. Reconnected the phone and started SPVservices.exe
6. Sim-unlocked and CID-unlocked the phone (Brillant program!)
7. Downloaded http://rapidshare.com/files/58201559/Lazaj007.zip and patched my SPL (extract and start patched_RUU.exe)
8. Disabled USB conections in activesync
9. Shut down the phone
10. Reconnected the phone whilst hoding the camera button
11. Pressed "0" to enter Bootloader
12. Downloaded the 1010 ROM (great!) here: http://rapidshare.com/files/67388246/1010_Yahei_inc_Office_EngT9.rar (feel free to use whatever ROM you like)
13. Renamed the .bin file to ROM.bin and placed it in my c:\ root
14. Started mtty and pressed USB button
15. Wrote "info 2" inside the white box (things started happening)
16. Wrote "format BINFS" inside the white box (more things happened)
17. Wrote "l c:\ROM.bin" (A lot of things started happening.. sometimes it looked like nothing happened)
18. Altough I'm 2 months away from being a MD (docter) I smoked a Marlboro, absolutely crucial step in the progress!
19. After everything settled down I gave the phone a reset.
20. WM6 started up! In Chinese (not my primary language, not even my secondary...)
21. Pressed the upper left key and chose the icon that looked like it had something to do with settings (lowest in the middle)
22. Pressed 0 - 2 - right... now something was saying US-English!
23. Pressed the home button
24. shut down the phone and restarted it
25. PERFECT ENGLISH WINDOWS MOBILE 6!
26. Unfortunatly no SMS function
27. Copied dutch T9 .cab to te phone and ran it
28. Restarted the phone
29 SMS function alive and kicking! With dutch T9!
30. Smoked another sigarette (like after having sex)
31. Played around... everything works great and really fast!

TO DO:
1. I've downloaded "Ruttensoft Homescreen designer" now I'm creating my own homescreen
2. Will try TomTom 6 somewhere this weekend (already found it somewhere)
3. Customize the hell out of this phone
4. Try and use it on my new Windows Vista Monster system (To be sent tomorrow)

This is €40,- well spend! I've got a MDA Compact, Vario, Vario II and Ameo but this is a phone I can take with me going out tonight in Amsterdam.
Will post some screenshots somewhere this week... already tried Pocket-controller PRO which is working great on this phone.

ps. If I made some typing errors... well my bad... I presume my english is better than your Dutch.

What about active sync,

I can only sync 1 time with my pc, after that i have to restart the computer again because it doesn't connect with active sync for the second time.

okay ppl first of all i would like to say at the top of my lungs BRAVO!! to who ever cooked up the wm6 rom for c550, when i saw it load for the first time it was like going to heaven (because i thought i was going to end up with a good looking paper weight by the time i was done with it) i tested the rom..liked it a lot but also found some bugs and i hope that someone is working out the few bugs that it has..like if the keypad is locked and you recieve a phone call u cant attend it bcoz if you press answer it disconnects the call and if you try to bring it out of standby it shows white screen even which subside after a couple of tries and then there was the inability to write messages but it worked out thnx to a t9 cab..but all in all it was super fantastic rom :)

Ran into a major problem... I've installed a few program's and everything was working sweet untill all of a sudden the phone got stuck on the splash screen! was'nt even able to do a hard-reset! The only solution was re-flashing which fortunately was succesfull... I think either Pocket Controller Pro 6 or Smarttoolkit 1.00 RC7 were causing it.
Can someone double me on that?

Thx Lazaj, NET Framework made this ROM perfect!
Now, I'we found some minor issues:
1. GPRS detaches after some time (icon in the center of top bar dissaperars)
2. All contacts and appontments are deleted (like phone cants see pim.vol) if you turn phone off while contacts or calendar "applications" are running
3. minor issue: can't run opera mini properly in any JVM. I hope solution can be found in JVM threads about button configurations.

i think it will not be that easy tot change the language completely.

That will mean translating every prossible menu item. I think the best way to get this is to get a ROM from a dutch phone and use that one as a bast..
but i don;t know how to dump a rom and create a custom ons..

maybe the translation kit for professional phone can help you out so you can change the language? see wizard forum.

I flashed it onto my device and booting takes sooo long now... and i get lots of errors startmenu wont show and lots of more strange things.... this rom seems to be an alpha version... i will go bak to yahei1010 that is my fav. or maybe i will reflash 2003se and wait for a better release -.-

go to SETTINGS>POWER MANAGEMENT>FROM USERIDLE then change lock key to any key

Attention: this options disappear when i install polish language. i dont know how it is with other language pack, so after installation change language to english and change this option.

Nice rom, but there is still the problem with the backlight that doesn't turn on when you get a incoming phonecall.

I don't know if there is a registryedit for this problem.

yeah i got that white screen thing one of the previous rom that i once loaded and it happened when i tried to bring the phone out of standby and had to restart the phone to fix it..and you can stop it from deleting the .cab files by changing the properties of the .cab file to READ ONLY before sending it to your mobile or through the file explorer in your mobile if it allows it..then it will still install but wont delete the file.
another thing is that im download the MGP 1123 rom..not the 1123jj have you tried it out?

kay dudes need help and need it fast..i tried to load the new 1123jj rom but i went straight ahead and went into boot loader..ran mtty and formated the damn thing..but now i cant seem to load the rom onto it..i have qtek rom but it says i have to establish link through activesync..i still have boot loader can my phone be saved????:(

hey dudes i tried the new 1123 and 1123jj roms..they both seem to act strange on my c550. the 1123 rom kept turning the screen white with backlight lit and wouldnt load once i changed the language to english..and the 1123jj rom did almost the samething..any ideas??

You can do it by shutting down Phone function. It only turns off GSM, not whole device.

It's done in wireless manager. You can open it by pressing button above Volume up/down keys(in most ROMs) or by selecting it in Quick list (short press on power button).

It hasd been a while since i posted a message, i have been searching different chinese websites to find a good working rom for my T-mobile SDA II aka hurricane aka 566 i think.

I have tried about 10 different roms, but always kept the spfans2006 second rom.

I think this rom i am posting now is based on that rom but works a lot faster.

Try it yourself, at the moment this is the best one for me.
