Hi all, once I turn OFF wifi on my SP5m, it sometimes comes back ON automatically, even though all my "internet applications" are shutdown/closed. It's as if an internet connection would still be needed somewhere on the phone?!... but once I turn it OFF again, it stays OFF this time! Why would it do that? How can I make sure it stays OFF once I actually turn it OFF?

Thanks all

highmighty

May be a bug? or a Feature ?? :)

* Double check for all application shutdown
* Go on Comm Manager and disable it, wait for LCD go off now return on Comm Manager and check if wifi is on, than turn it off

I'm using bundled CeleTask to close all tasks and stop wifi, work, may be some time need to turn off wifi 2 times, (after the lcd turns on)

FYI, I'm using WM6 (perfect edition) and to me it looks like a bug, anyone else has this? It's very annoying cause I always have to double-check that wifi is OFF when i put my phone away... otherwise, it reconnects to my wifi network and drains my battery :(

This has plagued the SP5m in every firmware version I tried, except the factory one, and also in wm6.

I have a T-mobile SDA with its stock rom and it has the same problem. I think why the problem is happening is something to do with the setting that turns off wifi automatically to save power.

I have not experimented with it, but I think if you turn off the setting, you shouldn't have any problems anymore.
