Extremely Large Contact list problems?

I have a 3125 and I have an extremely large contact list in Outlook (2500+ contacts) It seems that they don't all sync properly. Certain people are in Outlook but not on the phone. Syncing does partially work, if I edit a contact that I can see in both places that changes work in both directions and If i deleted and recreated the missing contact in outlook it will send it over to the phone. I am on the latest rom from Cingular.

Has anyone else seen anything like this? Does anyone know of a fix?
