which version of Odyssey do you use? Is it the default one or another? I can't make it work with the default one...

I did a thread search for the transcriber functionality in the A03 ROM, and only one mentioned anything about the transcriber feature, but that was only for a language translation, so here is my question.
Is anyone able to use the transcriber, letter by letter, or block recognizer features? When I select transcriber, and try and open the options button, I get the following error popup "Can't open the configuration dialog.
Transcriber options are available only when Transcriber is selected as the active input method."
After that I make sure that transcriber is still selected and click on "ok" and navigate around. When I come back, and look at my input options, keyboard has somehow been selected. This happens when I select anything other than keyboard.
Is the transcriber feature available on this ROM or am I doing something wrong. I have looked online on the steps for activating transcriber and it seems like I am doing it correctly.

I was wondering what is "Turn off flight mode" shortcut in the connection icon?
It looks like a WM6 smartphone edition feature, am I right?
Could it be removed?

If I am not mistaken, flight mode is a part of your connectivity features, Wlan, blue tooth, etc., and is used when riding on an airliner so as not to interfere with the airplane's electronics/radio equipment, but I could be wrong. You can disable it, but I do not know if you can remove it totally.

Frog: Go into any program that accepts text input and set the input method to Transcriber. (Bottom center of your screen; there's a "drop up" arrow next to the keyboard.)
Go back to Settings/Input, and "Options" is available for your use.
Before anyone mentions it: M$ has a strange liking for the keyboard. WM reverts to it on every soft reset, and has since Pocket PC 2002 on my Axim X5.

Hey thafrogggg,
The Transcriber has always been a pain in cooked ROM's and most of them have it disabled, football's WM5 A17 has no Transcriber and I remember WM6 A01 had no Transcriber either (although I could not locate a post to prove my point) I don’t know if this changed for WM6 A03 but as someone else said you’re better off using Block recognizer.

Thanks...
It actually changes the shortcut to a M$ Wireless manager...
If I click on it a menu with M$ Bluetooth activation pops up but does not work because I installed the Widcomm stack
Perhaps Football could find a solution for this in the new ROM..

i dont know why anyone would use anything other than the keyboard because on the keyboard, you just push the key for a split second and that key you press appears on the screen. for the input method it takes longer to draw each letter, and then you have to worry about the handwriting recognition's accuracy
i have terrible handwriting so i couldn't use the other input methods anyways. but its a matter of personal preference and at least ms lets you pick the input method unlike palm

Yes, that would be an easy way to do it, but unfortunately, that "drop up" arrow was not visible, at least not until I installed calligrapher; great program BTW. Now the arrow is there and I can select multiple methods of data input. Maybe it was something I chose when I first updated my ROM. Thanks to everyone that had suggestions.:)

Juan,
Before I responded to Frog, I used Transcriber on my Axim, running A03-RTM. It's not my choice for input (I use Block Recognizer), but it worked. I actually composed my response using it. It may not be perfect (I have no opinion), but it's there, and it works.

For me the use of the block recognizer is faster then using the keyboard. So I normaly use the block recognizer. I think it's evryone's own decision which features will be used

You may have corrupted your system with what your doing with the hebrew installation. I would do a hard reset and confirm the issue with your contacts (only because I do not have that issue) and then reload your hebrew installation.

Has anyone had any issues with duplicate notifications? I seem to get two of everything, and I'm not sure if its an issue I'm having with A03 RTM or if its entirely unrelated. Any suggestions?
As always: mad props to Football.
Oh and Block Recognizer all the way. Almost as fast as slow typing when you get the hang of it! Great for accented characters too. I am German so i have to write out the umlaut above some letters.

Pocket Informant may have caused the duplicate notifications. Did you have that installed? That's what happened to my PDA when I had WM5 and had PI installed.

No, I use pocket breeze and the default PIM to manage my info, but I have had a demo of PI installed in the past. I hard reset and reflashed the ROM yesterday in an attempt to solve problems I was having with my Ax running slow. We'll see if this notification issue still occurs. It doesn't do it in desktop outlook, so it is something on the device. I just figured I would check see if any other users of WM6 Football Edition had any problems with this.

No issues here with double entries into my calendar application after WM6 A03 upgrade. For me at least and of course IMHO WM6 A03 has presented zero issues and a lot of very great improvements in my X51V. Thanks again 'football' for all of your work that has benefited so many users of the X51V and X50V Axim models that Dell has left out in the cold.

PocketInformant, Wisbar Advanced 3, and Sprite Backup have all updated their programs recently. Since loading the upgrades several of my lockup and wakeup issues have gone away. I am still having issues with PhatPad and wakeup crashes when left running after auto shut off. I do not see any one complaining of issues with PhatPad lockups after auto sleep/wakeup so I am thinking it is the way it plays with this ROM. Sprite did not acknowledge a sleep/wake issue but others on this thread have noticed it with this ROM and now it is fixed. Similarly, I have not noticed any complaints with PI or WA3 and how they play with WM6 but I had problems with this ROM and it appears their updates have had an effect with how they play with Football. Just an observation... not sure what the issue was...

I noticed that if I created a new Activesyc Partnership with my PC at work, and asked it to combine with the Calendar items already on my Axim, then when it was finished I noticed duplicate records of appointments on Pocket Breeze. But not on Pocket Informant. Doing a soft reset cleared up the problem.

Just read this entire thread and you will find the answer to your question. It includes a step by step inclusion by many members. If not followed correctly the process could 'brick' your X51V. For me the process went with out any issues when I did both of my X51V's.

if you dont know how to do install it, you should be installing it!!!! oh, cpetzel, an official rom is going to be less buggy than this one, the bugs are caused by software you put on your axim not the rom itself

Well I spoke too soon regarding Sprite 6.1 because it is hanging on the build screen still. I think I installed it in the evening while in the cradel and did not shut down the device-- that is why it worked as it should. It is still a wake up issue. This is a WM6 thing however, not a ROM thing. I see complaints about it on other devices with WM6 built in.

Hmmm . . When I complained to Sprite customer service they said it was an "unknown problem" so I assumed that it was related to having a WM6 ROM on a X51V. Anyway, this morning it failed again! As soon as I turned on the Axim it started up the backup. So seems to be erratic. Sigh . . :(

Thanks, JuanDG, but I already tried the hard reset. It didn't help. I did, however, use a backup file to restore and probably put the problem (whatever it is) right back onto the device. I think I may wait until a new ROM comes out, flash it, and re-install the programs one by one.
I neglected to mention in my other post that I have two Axim X51v devices loaded with totally different programs, and they both started the same behavior on the same day.
Very puzzling.

Now today, even more puzzling, both Axims started connecting to the Internet by wireless. They did not do this between 11/18 and the present, and they still do not connect by ActiveSync's USB port. The behavior of the one I hard reset and restored is identical to that of the one to which I did nothing.

Hi everybody.
I've made a cab file with all bugfix for A03 RTM Rom.
The cab contains:
1)Wi-Fi WPA-PSK(TKIP) fix (Thanks Vagus).
2)This program add init line in WM6 (Thanks gunboat).
3)Program for A2DP users.
4)File manager addon.
5)New Alt+Tab programm.
6)IE Fix.
This cab is the same one released by football, but it does not contain msim.dll and msim.192.dll files. These two files, in fact, were the russian keyboard layout, with cyrillic alphabet.

It is to add an extra string to the connection properties when you try to pair i.e a bluetooth phone to use GPRS/3G. WM6 'forgot' to add this field.

Excellent release - well done and thank you!
I have one question, I am trying to use the latest Resco Registry editor to change the height of my menu bars and fonts. It allows me to change the values and save them, but on a soft reset the values are back to original.
ANy ideas?
UPDATE:
By holding power button and doing a power down, then soft reset it saves the values but doesn't actually change the height of the bars.
I am doing this after a hard reset.

Hi,
I'm a newbie to the WM world and would like to install WM6 on my Dell Axim x51v. Could anyone guide me through the steps and which files to install.
I can see the following files in Football's message:
- A03_Preview.rar (containing two files)
- A03_RTM.rar
- img-51309-A2DP_Plugin.rar
- img-51310-File_explorer_Addon.rar
- ModemIS_0_4_1.zip
- x51v_wm6_wpa_fix.rar
'Release notes.txt' is not readable as well.
If someone can point me to other cool (must have) downloads, it would be great as well.
Thanks a lot 'Football' for your hard work!!

The only thing I have found to be unstable about this ROM has been WM6! My major complaints are with WM6 password and that has nothing to do with the rom. I went back to M17 to have a workable password protection until Pocket Secure 5 comes out then I will switch back to Football WM6. I found numerous problems with using WM6 password protection including lost password intermittently after a soft reset!!! (a big problem). I need to enter a password on the PC each time I synchronize. Then there is the annoying revert to today screen at switch on bug. All of this is WM6 and not Football.
A Football issue is the fact that encryption does not work. That is disappointing but I do not like the WM6 encryption method anyway. FreeOTFE works best for me.

You have to format the SD card as described, you have to unzip the .rar file of your choice and put it on the SD card, and follow all the steps exactly and in order.
The RTM is "release to manufacturer", use it unless there is some compelling reason to use the other.
But first, you should read liberally in this thread, not necessarily all 582 posts, but at least the first few days. So you can see what issues people mentioned.

I tried updating the steps mentioned in post # 297 but it seems to be not working.
I formatted my 1GB SD card with FAT32 and copied A03_RTM files (DiAd_K_AximX51v_WM6_A03EN.nb0, and DiAd_K_AximX51v_WM6_A03EN_nb0.crc).
As soon as I release reset button (without releasing wireless and power button) the screen shows 'SD Image Update A05' on the top of the screen and no activity in the rest of the area.
Tried using another ROM (A03_Preview) but same output.
Please suggest if I'm doing something wrong here.
Thanks.

I have used the A03 RTM since the day it was released. What a great addition to hardware that the manufacturer thought was over the hill. My X51v screams along day in and day out.
I have noticed one small problem along the way. Occasionally I loose the WiFi icon at the bottom of the screen. Nothing brings it back except a soft reset. This is not biggie but has anyone else seen this happen?

Spent last night reinstalling my programs of choice.

mss converter
gps utilities
cLaunch
data viewer (for the constitution)
gsfinder
pocket esword
tcpmp player with codec pack
pocketxpdf (for now, i'm still trying it)
pocket dictionary
xnview
I have two calc programs i have yet to try.
I've succesfully connected to my phone and gps via blutooth.
The only prob i've had was the first time i connected to gps I had to do a soft reset to get it to connect. It wasn't until later that i realized i had not soft reset it since football install so this could have been my fault.

Very cool. I installed this about a week ago and at first it seems good. Currently though I'm having this weird problem (dunno if it's rom related or the apps I have). If I turn off the PDA and turn it back on then when I click on start it sort of freezes for a bit (like 5 seconds) and then continues to run normally. Anyone know what this is about? It would feel like it's clearing memory or something, but I'm not sure. Anyone else experience this?

Hello
I have x51v with WM6 (Football Edition) A03 RTM
I have a problem with VoIP.
Since this ROM is without VoIP I installed WM6VoIP.CAB (ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com...es/WM6VoIP.CAB) and Soft Reset
In Windows catalog I have all necessary file (I think):
ipdialplan.xml
dnsapi.dll
voipphonecanvas.dll
rtcdll.dll
Unfortunately it’s not working because when WM starts I get error:
“The file ‘:MSCprog’ cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found.
If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.”
http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/6734/error1hj7.th.jpg (http://img57.imageshack.us/my.php?image=error1hj7.jpg)
After HR and installing it on clean WM6 still the same error.
Does anyone figured out how to solve this problem?

Preview is just that - a close to final version. RTM stands for Release to Manufacturing and is a final version of a ROM. So RTM would be the most stable.

I've never seen the booting progress bar, but if you point me to the rom that has it, i'll look into it. As far as starting up the rom with the broadcomm stack already in there instead of the microsoft stack, thats easy, although i do not recommend it. I luv the broadcomm stack, but find myself having to go back to the microsoft stack for certain apps to work. Actually, I'm finding more and more ways to enable the diff profiles on the stock microsoft stack. So, not even sure I would need the broadcomm stack anymore.

Hi lennysh...
The progress bar is in the Maglite WM6 ROM for x50v you can get it here..

About the Bt stack I'm having problem with Widcomm stack only with the Teksoft Bluemouse driver... I was wondering if there is a simple way to switch between stacks so the best one could be use as desired.

these files are ALL downloaded as in first post, however as the person quooted, I myself am feeling lost as to how to install a ROM such as this without the actual tool that will install this ??
So i too ask to please explain the come about to get it installed PLEASE.
thank you ahead of time.
"I pray I didnt overlook the answer, no fun getting flamed:D
First extract and copy the files you downloaded on a FAT32 formatted SD card (Not CF or MMC).
After that to get into the bootloader:
- Press the wireless and power key for 1-2 seconds
- Then, while still holding the wireless and power keys, hit the reset button and let it go (just a tap) .
- The boot loader should launch...
Wait a couple of seconds and after the file name of the new Rom on SD should appear...just hit twice the enter button and the upgrade process should begin. It will take about 15-20 minutes

Can someone please help me figure out how to install WM 6 on my Axim 51v? I can't seem to get my PPC to go into boot loader mode. HELP!! :(
- Enter to SD bootloader mode:
1. Press and hold Wi-fi button (wait for 1 sec?)
2. While pressing W-Fi, press and hold Power button (again, wait for 2 sec)
3. Briefly press and release reset button, keep holding Wifi and Power until SD loader screen appears.
Then use the pad to select the rom you want to load, ensure that you have full battery and plug to power to be sure you won't miss power during the flash process. Selection with center of ‘D’ button. If more than one ROM updates showing selection by using the outside rim of the ‘D’ button and then the center of the ‘D’ button to start the ROM process.

BTW, man Vista is just a conbstant puzzle just to find a way to get to the SD card, it isnt accessible thrugh the SyncCenter but through My Computer onble............
They sure need some improvements on that part.

If you're using the MS Stack, the issue is with the MS Stack. Try the Widcomm Stack for the X50v on Aximsite.com. I have it and BT DUN & BT Activesync works perfectly.

I have had no problems with the MS BT Stack in this rom. I have had (with the utility for adding special strings) no problems pairing up with my Razr, GPS, or my Laptop. As a matter of fact it works so well I have left widcom off. I have also found that FlexMail and Opera and TomTom work much better with the built in stack. They pair up very fast and reliably. BT synchronization is also a breeze. I am a happy M$ customer with the built in stack. Widcom uses up resources and at this time I do not see any benefit as I did with A12. Widcom has a much nicer user interface but the benefit stops there for me. I do not use stereo head phones so I cannot talk to that. Perhaps there is a clear benefit there.

The BT Mgr looks strange is becuase your hx4700 uses the Widcomm Stack, which has a nicer user interface. Sorry, I assumed you're a veteran user if you ditched WM5 A12 and flashed your Ax w/ Football's WM6. Yes, the Widcomm Stack available on Aximsite works for the X51V WM5 or WM6 as well. Check out this link: http://www.aximsite.com/boards/x50-x51-forums/122247-widcomm-axim-x50v-x51v-state-development.html
I hate trying to figure out the MS Stack. The post above your reply is from someone who has successes with the MS Stack -which suggests it's probably your settings. Ditch the complicated MS Stack and go with the Widcomm--you're already familar with the interface. As I mentioned, it works perfectly with ActiveSync on a XP machine and my Vista laptop and BT DUN with my LG Chocolate.

Upgraded my X51V last night. Took all of 20 minutes. Of course it took another two hours to reinstall all apps. Man is this thing FAST! Great job Football!
You MUST make sure the SD card is formatted FAT32. I simply plugged it into my desktop and reformatted it because it was originally formatted FAT.
Tried numerous install instructions found in this thread and found this one worked:
Step 1) Press and hold the Power Button + WiFi (Hardware) Button
Step 2) While holding those two buttons, QUICKLY PRESS AND RELEASE the Reset Button on the back of your Axim. The "press and release" is for all practical purposes a simple "tap" of the reset button.
Step 3) Continue to hold the Power + WiFi buttons until you see the white screen with a blue "banner" at the top which states the SD Image Loader version
Step 4) Once you see the above screen, release all buttons and the ROM image from your SD card should be listed on the screen
Step 5) Press the Center Button (this is what is referred to as the "Action Button" or "Action Key") on the D-Pad (front directional pad on your Axim) TWICE QUICKLY
Step 6) Sit back and wait for your device to flash with the ROM

Great! No, you don't need to/and can't uninstall because it's in the ROM. By installing the .05 version of the WC Stack, it'll override the MS Stack. To go back to the complicated MS Stack, just uninstall the WC Stack. Trying to read that huge thread is crazy--just follow the install procedures that comes with the file or the instructions on the 1st post. You're good to go.

My second 1gig Amicroe SD card in 4 months just died (One prior and one post Footballs' WM6 rom) and i'm just wondering if anyone else has had this kind of "luck". I know it's probably not Footballs rom thats caused it, but is it a x51v problem, or just a SD card problem in general? The latest one lets me format it in a card reader and even put things on it. Then when I insert it in the pda it comes up with the "would you like to format...?" message. If you go ahead and reformat it ,or not, it still becomes unrecognised after the next soft reset. Any ideas anyone?

I did just that a while back, and not only was it extremely fun, but going directly from Wm5 A012 to Wm6 A03RTM seemed to solve some of the minor annoyances and bugs I was being plagued by, most noticably my ridiculously slow scrolling speeds in some applications.
It also let me see exactly how far the OS has come. It's amazing what a few third party developers can implement.

The reason it's generally not a good idea is because when you use a backup you're going to reload the registry from the backup to replace the registry from the new ROM. The new registry from the ROM might have some fixes/changes that you are obliterating.

Keeping the CABs on a card is a good idea (I have a dedicated file folder on my PC with the .exes or cabs). But you still have to reenter all the user ids and passwords individually for each app.
If there's some way to automate it more with Mortscript, that would be awesome!

I don't know if this will help you or not, but Ι obtained (have yet to test) some cabs for desktop programs this way:
1. Click desktop installer
2. Install screen pops up on device - ignore
3. Open file explorer (i use Resco)
4. Look in the directory Windows\AppMgr\Install
5. Cab for pending install should be located here. - copy/paste
6. Laugh at all those really annoying software companies that only offer desktop installers as you bask in the glow of your awsomeness
You can either continue with the rest of the install or exit out of it
I have not run the cabs i obtained, so i am not 100% sure how well this works

You can also look in your c:\program files folder for the installation files. For example, the SOTI Pocket Controller will be in the SOTI folder. There are about a dozen CAB files, but find the one for your device. It's normally listed with ARM or WM5 in the title. Then copy it to your storage card.
I will note that sometimes the cab files are left in the \program files\microsoft activesync directory instead. It just depends on the company that released the software. Some companies now offer the CAB file as a direct download from their site, such as SPB Software. Also use a program like eWallet to keep your serial numbers handy for a quick reinstallation.

Believe it or not, you can open up some exe's in like WinZip. Most are only self extracting exe installers. I've gotten many cab's this way.

I upgraded my dell Axim51v with the new wm6. Work fine... However, I encounter some issues: it seems than in the M$ apps (office stuff, but also wifi setup and on some other pages), the tap and hold doesn't work properly:
when you tab and hold, you start seeing the little circle of blue bubbles, and once complete you should see the menu, instead nothing appearing... once it completed it looks like you haven't even hold at all.
My other issue is: it seems very slow. I used to have a IPaq HP3115 whose CPU is way bellow the dell's one. But my old Ipaq is actually faster than my Dell... even if I force the speed of the CPU to be 614. Any idea? Is that supposed to be like that?

As far as a slower unit as a result of the ROM upgrade my experience is the direct opposite of yours. My unit is very fast. Applications that took a long time to respond (searches and calendar) have been turned into fast applications. Large PDF files load and view way faster now. Excel files load and function in the same mannor as the PDF files do. I have had zero issues with my unit since the upgrade over 2 months ago. Its the ROM that should have come with my unit originally. Was thinking of getting a new HP 210 (when every the unit is really available for sale) but not now. Instead I now have two X51Vs both with WM6 A03 on them. One is used daily and the other is on a stand by condition waiting for me to turn it into my daily unit in the future when needed. I would suggest you to a hard reset and confirm your findings with a fresh unit. Then load an application you use personally and reconfirm your findings. Continue that process until you find the application that slows your unit down as you have described.

I forgot to mention: I notice the dell to be slower than the HP but it may have nothing to do with the new OS, I barely used it with the original OS.
So I can't really compare. My old HP was running WM2003SE.
In term of being slower, I noticed that some games like Bejeweled2 were lagging and used to be perfectly fluid with the other PDA. It's maybe due to the higher resolution of that one... But still, I'm wondering if that's what people are usually noticing.
The main issue is definitively with the tap and hold. I'll give it a try after a hard reset in case that would fix it. A soft reset didn't.
An easy way to reproduce it (at least for me) is to go to:
Office Mobile -> OneNote Mobile
Then tap and hold one of the existing note, and no menu will appear.

All this work is awesome. Thanks Football. I don't know if this issue is one that everyone experiences, but In WM5 I used Terminal Service client all the time for work. The new Remote Desktop add is awesome, but it doesn't use connection manager to auto dial. Is there a quick fix for this? I looked through a number of forums to see if I could find a solution, but haven't yet. The work around is to pre dial the connections, including VPN, but this is cumbersome.

DiAd_K_AximX51v_WM6_A03EN.nb0
DiAd_K_AximX51v_WM6_A03EN_nb0.crc
Then tried to press / reset+power+wireless / releasing wireless first, but nothing happens.. Am I missing any files on my SD card ?

hey man, do I have correct files on the SD ? I am upgrading from WM5 to WM6.. From other posts it seems that I need to have image file and also "bootloader" file ? Is that right ? If so, where do I find the bootloader ?
I do not want to brick my x51v. ..
thanks for help.

I was reading that the naming of the files on the SD card matter a lot.. Especially with the K and B ( K being for the system, B being for the bootloader ).. I have only the one for K.
At this moment the root of the SD card ( 1gb, sandisk, formatted to Fat32 ) has two files:
1 ) WM50_K_AximX51v_WM6_A03EN.nb0
2 ) WM50_K_AximX51v_WM6_A03EN_nb0.crc
Is it enough for the process to start and upgrade to WM6 ? I have it hard to navigate in the forums of 200.000 posts and bunch of patches, upgrades, files etc.. Once I fugure it all out, I will write a good begginers guide, just like myself.. but first I need to know what am I doing ! :)

Lord.Cassandra,
Thanks you for offering SP1 to us.
I got problem when tried to installed it on my X51V it shows "Installation is unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions." I couldn't figure out this notification meaning, and what kind of permissions that I have to have in oder to install SP1.

I have had the save experience you have as far as longer power usage from my batteries. Not sure why but perhaps its just the responsiveness of my unit at WM6 now compared to WM5.

wm6 is much better! it's much more responsive and i can use it longer, but when i switch it to standby (no programs running, no bluetooth or wifi active) the battery ist is empty the next day :-(
i've never experienced this with wm5 and a full power off is not an option.

I don't have any of the problems that have been reported by those who have recently converted to Football's WM6. As a matter of fact, I agree that my Axim is faster than it was on WM5. As for power, it was just off for most of the weekend (light use on Friday and Sunday nights; off the rest of the weekend); I had greater than 85% battery when I plugged it into the dock this AM.
Finally, to all those who are awaiting a so-called "final" version of WM6: That's like talking about waiting for the "final" version of Vista. The RTM at the end of the current version's name means "Release to Manufacturing", which means that it is the current, stable version, ready for end-users. While Football may be working on another version for future release, that version is more like the next "Service Pack", not some mythical "final" version.

I found another issue and was wondering if others have the same issue. In WM5 messaging I had the option to store mail attachments on SD card. In WM6 I see the option in Messaging but it doesn't recognize a valid card in the settings, therefore I can't use this option.

too bad for me. maybe i have a "bad revision" of hardware - i don't know.
i had another issue: i use a CF and a SD card. the SD card is only recoginized when i reset wm6 after inserting. with wm5 and any other card reader the card is working as expected. to me it looks like rare and hard to identify bugs. anyway: football did a great job, thanks for all!

Come on... torture us a little. Yeah, I agree with you, I have asked Football the same thing, this A05 wm6 X51v ROM must be real funky, you know, the "NUKE" of all wm6 X51v ROM's! Even Dell and Microsoft are waiting on this one, maybe Fooball is adding in the new Microsoft wm7.1 touch and think it and it will appear on the screen, just by your thoughts, no stylus needed. I know one thing, when it comes to Slingbox, the X51v is still light years ahead of (ALL) other mobile handheld devices that's on the market to dated.............!

After selecting your email application you should see two items at the bottom of your screen. The left one 'Select' and the right one 'Menu'. Select the 'Menu' option and then 'Options'. At this screen select 'New Account' under the 'Tap an account to change settings.' heading. This will open the process to create a new email account.

6)IE Fix.
I have used your cab to save the time to painfully download the single cab files. Thank you for the work! :)
While searching for another post in this thread I saw that the file manager add-on was supposed to display file extensions. My file manager did not show this functionality after using the SP1 cab.
I have now downloaded the original file manager add-on cab and installed it. The file extensions are now displayed together with some other nifty functions. :D
Looks like the file manager add-on is not included in your SP1. Is this cab really missing in the SP? Are others as well?

I've been searching the forums 2 days now and nobody seems to have a solution. Some people mentioned that some software is conflicting, like Mapking, but I've already uninstalled all the software that I put on before this problem occurred.
I'm going to have to do a hard reset, quickly try and set up my email and then reinstall all my software. I was hoping it wouldn't have to come to this. I don't think this is a permanent solution. I hate knowing that it could happen again.

Ok, I have ben sitting here for THREE hours now with these files downloaded. I have put them on a FAT32 SD card in the root folder, in a "ROM" folder, I have tried making the name different, EVERYTHING! But all I get when I start my Axim (after doing that three button process) is the "press this button to cancle" or "press this button to reset to factory defaults" so i press it twice fast, twice slow, once, EVERY COMBINATION! and still I cannot get this A03 to load at all!
It's like it isn't even seeing the files on there...do I have to gradually update with the old versions before I can flash this one? Do I need to do A17, A01, A02, then A03?? help please! I am extremely tech savvy and this is baffling the heck outta me.

Maybe, if price is not to high we can send enough donations to convince him to open up source for WM6 A05 to everyone.

DELL has dropped the ball since 2003SE and never refunded the money for the upgrades!!!
So if one were to sue than Microsoft is to sue for the useless 2005 upgrade which they never fixed.
AND listen, you would make much more money at $10.0 a piece than selling a single AXIM..............makes sense doesn’t it?
I for one am not going to buy another PDA unless I know you work on them, we got screwed worldwide, there was a partition going on with over 22.000 people.......so screw DELL !
I have never been one for saying bad things but if all of you guys watch Dell's stock, you can clearly see that they are sinking, they ticked off so many people not only with PDA's but Dell branded Lexmark Printers, horrible Bloat ware on their PC;'s underpowered and With Norton or McAfee Both are DEADLY for your system........,ever since their original owners sold the product.
I can't elaborate, more but I definitely will never ever recommend Dell for ANY item whatsoever.
And if you decide to not do the donation , not SAKLE donation !!!, than thank you anyway, it was the best thing that ever happened to the AXIM Series.

I want to thank you for giving so many of us Axim owners a reason to stay enthusiastic about our PDAs. Your WM6 ROM is so much more than we could have ever expected from either Microsoft or Dell. It is stable, it is fast, it is pretty, and above all else, it works!

Hey Guys, i just bought a Dell Axim X51v just two weeks ago, and stil really new at this. I still don't get how to install this.
From what i heard your suppose to download the A03 then extract files to SD card, so i did (the activesync converted or something) and then i did the boot mode by:
Holding Power and Wifi and tapping reset, but it displays somehting like:
Doy ou want to reswet to factory settings , blah blah, lose data, or cancel.
Can anyone help?
Update:
Problems facing:
1) How to get to boot loader screen, keeps popping up reset factory default
2) How to make SD card into FAT32 ( how to change?)
This thread contains all of the information you need. Just read it from start to finish and you will find plenty of step by step processes described for you.

I have read all of the posts that 'football' has and as near as I can tell the answer to you question is it is not possible simply due to the fact that WM6 was developed by MS for a VGA capable device (PDA or phone). There is a ROM upgrade for the X50V and the X51V but nothing else. I may be wrong so any senior member jump in and correct/edit/add or change my answer.
rlarson)mn,
Not sure if someone has responded to your reply but the fact remains that there are many native WM6 devices in the market today that still support QVGA screen resolution. Even my iPAQ hx2755 QVGA device runs well under WM6.
So, your statement is misleading & inconsistent with the WM6 capability of supporting QVGA, VGA & Square 240x240 & 320x320 (new) resolution screen. Technically, the difference lies in the display drivers & UI components to be rendered in the proper resolution. That has to be built from the ground up so I can only conclude that the base OS source that Football started with was built to support VGA & not QVGA.

drop it in your sync folder anywhere you want...after sync... go to 'My documents\whereverouputthecab' and click on the cab and it will begin to install.

Hello.
Will anyone learn the method of fixing processor speed to Maximum with wm6
A03?
Though it returns to Auto when Full Power Off is done.

Hello axim users,
first football thank you very much for this ROM. My axim seems a lot faster and it was just in time for my Christmas traveling, although I have a lot more traveling to do for the rest of my winter break so I am hoping you could help me with a slight problem
i bought a Elite Pro 8GB SD card which I intended to fill with videos, and I had read a few posts of people saying they had success with 8GB cards since installing your ROM. Unfortunately my axim only recognizes 4gb of the card. Do I have to do anything to make the axim recognize the full capacity of the card?
