Guys if you are free users of Rapidshare, you need to wait for the specified time to download a file again from their server, it's probably you have downloaded a different file before you attempted downloading this one. Hey,

I was wondering if/what issues I should expect from flashing this rom on a non-noble?

From what I've read elsewhere, the only difference in roms should be additional softkey config files (Short_AP1 to Short_AP4).

So I'd expect the only downside would be to have useless but also harmless files on my non-noble C600. Can anyone confirm/negate this?

Well I have to be honest this ROM is faster than Andots and apart from the buttons and lack of black theme I like it howver I just copied the DP577 buttons as instructied to windows folder now only the default theme will work so can someone please attache the edited button files to save me reflashing or can someone instrauct me how to get the themes working again ?

copy black scheme and black.jpg to \Application Data\Home and Long_Home.lnk (which goes directly to CeleTask) to \Windows directory.

some registry workaround are possible but never tried those.

as per autokeylock, it is available as a cab. cant upload coz im using mobile ie right now. :D

My C600 works just fine. Beyond the shadow of a doubt this version of WM6 is the best, at least in my case.

I can't change my ringtone!

It was set to "Windows Mobile" and I'd like it to be the "Standard" one.
When I select "Standard" (or "Vision" for that matter) it does play the sound, so obviously, the file's there and ok.
But when I click "Done", an error pops up saying: "The settings could not be saved."
Even worse: Once I had tried to put it on "Vibrate", that worked - but now I can't even go back to the "Windows Mobile" ringtone!

So I'm stuck with a silenced, vibra-only phone atm. :confused:
Hope someone knows how to fix this.

Other than that, the rom's fine. Boot is quick, it comes with essential tools only and while keylocked, the screen goes off again after 7 seconds - btw. ericjm since you seem to have fixed that issue, could you tell us how you did that, please?

i didn't notice that mate. thanks for your feedback. as a workaround, i have attached a .zip with all the ringtones that should be copied to \Windows\Rings folder. ;)

I find this ROM suites my needs better than any others. Battery drain have improved tremendously.However, the registry needs some clean up. For example there is TAO listed.

Similar to other cooked ROMs, I still cant get mms to work.
Any help would be appreciated.

Strange, after flashing this yesterday my phone was more responsive and seemed stable compared to the Perfect English V6. Today however, it the instability returned with intermittent GPRS connectivity. Back to WM5 once again.

The ROM is very good, however, I noticed some bugs:
- the alarm is played twice sometimes, not one after another but making some kind of "polyphony". It also applies to some other sounds (SMS).
- when new unread mails are imported to the phone via active sync reading them is impossible sometimes - I am dropped to the bottom of the list instead
- one of profiles is named "Tornado". Err, what does it mean?
- bugs present in all WM6 ROMS - MMSes do not work, camera software so-so
- pity that there is no Java manager...

And a lack of feature. I love one thing in the i-mate_SP5_RUS_2.5.332.1.exe ROM. When I use MVNO with the i-mate ROM the name displayed is the real name of the MVNO, not the network it uses. I will give an example from my country - when I use the WPmobi SIM card the name displayed should be WPmobi, not Orange (the MVNOs are shown here: http://www.prepaidgsm.net/en/poland.html)

And one more thing: when I used Orange ROMs (e.g. FA_AKU20_OCH_20140_11254_023701_Ship.exe) with my C600 Internet could be used out of the box. Do not ask me how it was possible, however, my network is not Orange. In the rest of ROMS everything must be configured manually. Pain in the neck if you use the SIM cards of different networks.

But as I said before, I am impressed by this release of WM6. Thank you!

Okay, I'm a glutton for punishment so I've been bouncing back and forth between this ROM and the stock i-mate SP5 ROM.

One thing I noticed with this ROM is that the Internet Explorer Mobile files are being stored on the Storage Card in a folder called WiFi. I changed the settings back to default (to store all the files in regular storage memory) and web browsing seems to be almost as stable as WM5.

I also configured my Exchange ActiveSync and Windows Live to sync once an hour instead of as items arrive to see if that helped.

I'll give it a few days before changing anything else and post my findings.

I used the SPVServices , when I installed the Cert.cab I got an error that the instalation was unsuccessful ( system permissions) and the SPVServices fail to open the cid.I get an error in read operator,

How do you copy the contents of the .rar? The WM6 file explorer won't copy .lnk files and the activesync browse doesn't see the \Windows folder and WM5Storage only sees the memory card.

When I try to overwrite the previous Long_Home.lnk that is already in \Windows I get an error that I can't erase files on the ROM. Any ideas?

make sure "show hidden files/folders" is activated in \tools\folder options of your PC.

that will enable you to see \windows directory in activesync and overwrite files.:)

I worked it out so that I replaced the “MenuPop.wav” and "MenuSel.wav" files in \windows\ folder.

Got a problem: After Formatting BINFS I cannot make a connection to Active Sync. The device is recognized by the PC, but not by Active Snyc itself.

Windows says that Smartphone was recognized and installed. But Active Sync does not do anything. Just doesnt react!

Maybe it's because ther'es no OS installed on the device, so Active Sync doesn't recognize the Qtek?

after format BINFS, your device should go back to bootloader mode. then you can flash.

that will enable you to see \windows directory in activesync and overwrite files.:)

what files are you trying to overwtite? i have no problems with it.

did you try to fully app unlock your phone? run sda-unlocker.

I find a bug in this rom, when i long press home button (i have orange c600) it's make a soft reset, don't t go to task manager or celetask at all.
If u have a fix , i be very happy, becouse it's the best rom by now, i have 5 days in fulll use by now with one battery charge.

it's all embedded mate in one folder named Pocket IE. so that it will be easy to see how much space internet explorer eats up in your storage card. :)

I updated to V2 yesterday, after running V1 for almost two weeks. As I mentioned previously, I had changed IE Mobile to store all its files back in the original locations and also configured Exchange ActiveSync and Windows Live to sync once an hour. For the most part, it was stable enough to keep me from reverting back to WM5.

With V2, I noticed a few things carried over from V1, which I hadn't mentioned previously:
When the phone boots, it seems to play DEFAULT.WAV, which is a loud sharp "ping" sound. I workaround this by replacing DEFAULT.WAV with a 0 byte file. It would be nice to leave DEFAULT.WAV alone and have the phone not play the default sound.
Speaking of replacing files, to replace files on the phone (e.g. Short_AP1.lnk) I have to copy the replacement file over as a temporary name, then Rename it to the intended name. If I try to copy the file directly over the existing file, access denied.
The "Normal" profile is still coming up as "Tornado;" easily corrected by selecting and choosing Reset to default.
A suggestion more than anything, include IA File Manager if space is available as it is more functional than File Explorer, and is usually included with other Tornado builds.I am testing V2 with the IEMobile files on Storage Card, and Exchange ActiveSync configured to sync as items arrive. I'll report how stable it is after a week.

yes i think so mate! :confused: actually it did increase, but only a few kilobytes!:eek: i will check back on that.

This maybe very strange. I dumped the ROM and deleted IA taskmanager, T9, WM5torage, regeditstg (568kb in sum). Then I integrated a font with 3.7mb size. Recooked and flashed. The resulting available storage is 18.70mb!!!
As a guy said somewhere it is better to integrate some useful apps to replace not very useful ones than trying to gain more storage by removing them .

just get SuperCID'ed, do the format BINFS procedure using TeraTerm Pro and you're all set to flash. :)
