Help...

I have a HTC 3600 (handy as I'm posting in this forum ;) ) and I have been trying to connect it to my work wireless setup. This is fairly locked down and has a hidden SSID and requires me to enter credentials (user name, password) to access the web. I can successfully connect to the Wi-Fi, I am issued with IP address etc but can't then take the next step to connect it to the web.

I have found an area to add a proxy with username and password - I do this but still nothing. One odd thing is that when I then go back to try editing the proxy settings 9 times out of 10 it has vanished and I have to create it again!!

This is causing much hair pulling!

Any direction/help in this would be great as I am now a little stuck.

I am on AX3L v3.0.9 build.

Cheers

I have found out that if there are two settings in the connections summary - such as 'My Work Network' and in my case 'etisalat UAE' the proxy setting never gets lost. Is this a quirk, is there something that I am not understanding (I know the obv. answer to the last question is yes!)

This now brings me to my nest challenge which is how do you arrange these connections? What I mean is that if I am at work/home and have a wi-fi link active how do I get the device to pick this in preference to a GPRS connection which it should use at all other times? I have tried looking for some kind of guide so I can work through this my self but no luck so far..... if anyone knows of such a thing or can point me in the right direction then please reply to this.

Cheers
