I will be updating with all ROM's and Radios and any new info thats important to Kaiser owners!!!

Someone please take charge of the Kaiser Wiki... Anyone Standing up for the role?

FLASHING FOR N00BS 101...
#1 - download and install HardSPL for Kaisers
#2- Download the ROM you wish to install on your Kaiser MORE ADVANCED-(you can either unpack the RUU-signed.nbh using WinRar and use NBHextract.exe to extract just the OS.nb (if you do this you must use another exe to pack the OS.nb into a RUU_signed.nbh) or flash the whole thing which will include the radio)
#3- Reset up all your settings DO NOT try and install a back up from a different ROM cuz it won't work!

HARD SPL!! Thank You Pof!!

Custom_RUU: For wrapping cooked roms or just Radio or Splash screens for flashing great tool to have and once again thank you pof!

AT-T KeyBoard Fix for those of you that flashed the HTC ship rom! Thanks to TaurusBullba!!

Kaiser PagePool Changing!! Here is the thread talking about that! Confirmed It works Since I am know running a 4MB HTC shipped ROM :)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335026

To Flash a ROM or Radio simply use a tool to convert the .nb files in to .nbh format Dutty's NBH tool works great! then copy pof's Kaiser Custom_RUU into the same folder and then run the Custom_RUU and your device will start the upgrade process. With the new RUU when you flash a splash screen or radio only your device will not hard reset!
You can also flash any ROM now that HardSPL has been release! Simply download the rom you like and run the .exe and start flashing!
The Kaiser is just like the Hermes in many ways if you have questions you can always consult the Hermes WiKi for Ideas and Help!! Most of all please try to learn and share knowledge back to the Xda forums!

-Enter Bootloader mode: Hold Camera + Power buttons together and reset with stylus(thanks pof)

-HardReset: Hold Both soft keys in while pushing in Reset button :When prompted push Green Talk Button to clear data.

-Task2a with mtty: 'task 2a' command is enabled in kaiser bootloader (even in non-MFG bootloaders), it will try to correct non-factory marked bad blocks, but it will format everything and leave your device in bootloader mode. Make sure you download a ROM matching your CID before issuing 'task 2a'.

*MICROSD FLASHING*
***IMPORTANT***
Please make sure you have HardSPL on your device.

1. Get a 128MB MicroSD card (or whatever size you like) and format it (***please make sure you format it, but not just delete all contents on it)
2. find the ROM image you would like to use, normally namede RUU_Sign.nbh, and rename it to "KAISIMG.nbh"
3. Plug the card into the phone, then enter boot loader mode by pressing down the Power and Camera buttons simultaneously, and using the stylus at the same time to press the RESET button at the left side. Continue pressing the two buttons for a few seconds after pressing and releasing the reset button until the bootloader screen appears. (taken from Wiki)
4. You will first see a tri-color screen then the information on the card. Press power button to start flashing.
5. After all these are done, press the reset button located at the bottom of the phone to reset the device.

COOL TWEAKS UNLOCKED BY REG EDITS: YOU WILL NEED A REG EDITING APP FOR THESE! MANY GOOD FREE ONES OUT...

-How to to activate the gps photo on the TytnII (like the Artemis): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\
in the folder called P9 change the value "enabled" from 0 to 1.
Now if you launch the camera you must find a new menu called "gps photo".

-Screen Going Off Durning a Call Bother You?
If you would like it to never go of during a call then edit this registry key
\HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\EnableFastDormantDisplay DuringCall
From "1" to "0"

-To increase sensivity of TouchFlow: HKLM>Drivers>TouchPanel>PressureThreshold and modify to 200 or more

-Disable TouchFlo scroller: HKLM\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings\ and change EnableScroll key to 0

-Camera bug that makes each picture rotated 90 degrees clockwise by default: HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\Image
Change the value named "EnableEncodePortrait" to 0 Default is "EnableEncodePortrait" Dword: 1

-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox
Click on Inbox (make sure the Inbox is highlighted) and select Edit, New Key
Name the New Key as "Settings"
Click on "Settings" (make sure the Settings is highlighted) and select Edit, New String Value
On "Value name:", key in SMSNoSentMsg and in "Value data", key in 1 Soft reset your device

-Change the keyboard backlight duration
To change the duration of the keyboard backlight, you can set (example is 30 seconds):
HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\QKeyLedTimeout = 30 (DWORD decimal)

-Disable the security warning when installing non-certified application
To disable the security warning when installing a non-certfied application, set:
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\0000101a = 1 (DWORD decimal)

-If you want your GPRS (or EDGE) connection to always be on, set the following:
HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-}\Connections\|gprs connection name (my Isp/MediaNet} \AlwaysOn = 1 (DWORD decimal)

-Kaiser saves to \Storage Card\DCIM\100MEDIA, by defualt if you want your storage card instead edit the following registry key: HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\General and change EnableDCIM from 1 to 0

You can use the ROMs in the first post as long as your device is not CID locked. if it is CID locked you have to wait untill a CID-unlocker is released which will be soon.!

Good Question i have never tried to do that. I will look into that but I'm sure its not a problem with the correct REG settings.

Hello from Germany!

Is there any hope to get an German TyTN II ROM when CID-Unlocker is released.
Because the Branding of the VPA Compact V is horrible (Just like VPA Compact III/TyTN)

I'm sure once we start having more roms come out and a HardSPL and CID_unlocker the roms will start flowing. Everyone please remember that this HTC just came out so we are just starting to test the waters here and see what we can do. It took the hermes almost 7 months to really start to get going and only now is it almost perfect! Give it some time and you will be amazed at what comes out of this forum. I think we all got a little spoiled with are Hermes lol :)

Thanks very much for the explanations. But, what exactly is CID?

CID is short for "Carrier ID" Lock (or commonly known as VENDOR LOCK).

It stops you from flashing your phone with ROM's released from different vendors.

i.e. Different language ROM's or a Manufacturer ROM (HTC) instead of the AT&T/T-mobile ROM.

Hey Guys,
When you have a new REG tweak can you just edit your original post and add everything to the same post. That way we dont have to search through pages and pages to find something. I will also be adding all new tweaks to the first post at first chance I get!
Thank you!

Hi

Anybody knows how to maintain a registry changed value after making a soft reset?
Eg: don't show SIM contacts. We change the parameter at the registry; but making a soft reset something restore the default value.

Thanks

try powering down your device buy holding in the power button and then powering back up. I also thought i saw some place that this was a bug with the SIM manager but i could be wrong. Wouldnt be the first time.

When i slid my tytn2 open it makes an extremely annoying sound.
I have tried to deactivate it, but it seems like if i do that i get either no alarm to wake up in the morning or i get no ringer when a phonecall is incoming.
What can i do??!!

By the way, thanks for the send sms tweak. FANTASTIC. Been looking for that for ages on my Universal.. First tweak on Kaiser. Is exactly that. Perfect.

Not sure if anyone can figure out a fix for this:

If you have an ATT Tilt, and you flash the HTC ROM, some of the keyboard buttons don't match. It looks like mostly the keys that require FN such as:

! @ - ; :" & #

I'd much appreciate if someone could figure out a way to clear this up!

Thanks guys

ditto... Fn key mapping on HTC rom doesn't match AT&T key layout. Hoping there is an easy flash or reg fix.

also having some app hangs with HTC rom leading to soft resets. Start button stopped responding.

anyone else noticing issues?

This is probably a stupid question but can anyone tell me if the Tilt ROM posted at the beginning of this thread is the one that is on the Tilts that are currently shipping? Thanks!

if you look at your tilt and look at the build and rom version they should match up if they do its the same one they ship with pretty simple

roameo
7th October 2007, 05:21 AM
Thanks for the reply, austin. It would be that simple if I had a Tilt. But I have a Kaiser. The last AT&T ROM I saw posted on here was pre-production I thought and it seems that's the same one at the beginning of this thread. I'm just trying to find the official Tilt ROM.

BradleyH007

AT&T Tilt info from my production Tilt (purchased 10/4/07)

ROM version: 1.57.502.2
ROM date: 8/25/07
Radio 1.27.12.11
Protocol 22.45.88.07H
CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)
SPL-1.56.0000
CPLD-8

If the info about the Cingular ROM from the first page is accurate, it appears that the ROM listed is the production/release ROM.

Hope this helps.

Scrim- I gather that you flashed your at&t Tilt with the HTC offical ROM (linked) & updated with the HARD SPL, any specific order to do this?

Does using the HTC Rom give you the TouchFlo UI?

Also, has anyone figued out a keyboard fix for Tilt-to-HTC?

Thanks in advance.

This is what I don't understand about the ROM flashing.

1) Which steps occur on the Desktop Machine and which steps occur on the Tilt.

2) I don't understand step 2 in the first post in this thread. The ROM file I downloaded is RUU_Kaiser_HTC_????????_SHIP.EXE What does this have to do with .nb or .nbh. What do I do with this EXE? Is it a self extracting zip file that installs the .nb or .nbh.

I know that these questions seem stupid to most of you guys. Heck they even seem stupid to me, but I would rather ask stupid questions than screw up big time.

Thanks for all your help and hard work.

Real simple buddy....
#1 install HardSPL on to your phone instructions on how to do that are in the thread the download is located.
#2 download HTC_Ship ROM dont worry about the .nbh or .nb files those are for us advanced users! Just run the HTC_ship.exe and it will start the upgrade process make sure your phone is pluged in to the usb port and active-sync is running or windows mobile device center thats it simple! If you still have issues go read the HERMES WiKi as the flashing process is the same just differnt rom's

Hi,
New here.
I tried to upgrade my Tilt with HTC Rom using the Kaiser Custom RUU and got error message 240. According to the WIKI, I am using the wrong RUU (Version 3.14.4.1), if so where can I find the correct RUU?

Is it possible that the HTC Rom I down loaded is at fault? (RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.5_radio_sign_22.45.88 .07_1.27.12.11_Ship)

Or am I not doing it right? I saved the Custom RUU and the HTC Rom in the same folder, then ran the RUU. Got Error Message 240. By the way, I already installed the Hard SPL.

Did you extract the RUU_signed.nbh out of the HTC_Shipped ROM before using the custom wrapper on it? If you didnt you have to use WinRar or some other extracting tools to extract the RUU_signed.nbh from the HTC_Ship.exe but remember the .nbh will contain the radio, splash screens, SPL, and the HTC ROM... Go read the Hermes Wiki for more info..

Cuzz it sure sounds like you are putting the whole .exe with the Custom_RUU which is WRONG!

I am uploading the Kaiser HTC ROM ONLY NO RADIO OR SPL right now Wrapped with the proper Custom_RUU since it seems there are lots of n00bs that have no clue what they are doing here. It will be added to the first post just download and install after flashing HardSPL...

If you flash a Tilt to the HTC ROM, do you also need to reprogram all the parts of the phone which point to AT&T's servers?

There is a configuation app that runs right after you start the phone for the first time (after flashing the new HTC ROM). You then select your carrier (AT&T). The phone then adjusts itself to the correct settings. For the most part, it worked fine. I had to redo my settings b/c they are not 'standard'. I proxy my MEdia net through my internet. Its $10/mon cheaper than the PDA connect. Not sure why they do this, it is very confusing.

I flashed my 8925 with the HTC ROM which by the way is far better than the AT&T ROM and now my GPS isn't functioning?

Anyone know how to fix or know some testing that I can do?

Thanks.

Special thanks to austinsnyc, jcespi2005 and other contributing members. YOU GUYS ARE GREAT!!!!:) :) :) You surely don't know how much I appreciate your advise, comment, effort and help!

I am a brand new beginner to this "ROM flashing World", and it looks like an advanture to me.

I have three questions:

I successfully dump the ROM according to the instructions illustrated in the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334680. I got 4 files from part00 to part03.

Q1: How can I "upload" or "restore" them back to my Kaiser.

2. I am having a Chinese CHT unlocked Kaiser, I want to flash it with the Standard HTC English ROM with RADIO. In terms of keyboard layout, there are two differences, they are " and - for Fn + A and Fn +B.

Q2: Which ROM should I use?
Q3: Is there any keyboard hack I can remap the keys?

Thanks in advance for your help, Mr. Great Guys!!

you should use the tools that Tazdio posted here on the Kaiser forum to dump and build roms its so easy and they are the only tools that ever use. As far as keyboard layout I have no idea you might want to try a chinesse forum probably have better luck there most of us are American or European

I must have missed something on the GPS/photo part, tried the hack and I
didn't see any option in the camera menu for GPS.

How could I make sure that I have hard SPL?

16th October 2007, 04:05 AM
Hi all,

I'm attempting to run HardSPLv1. However, I get the following error when I run "kaiser-HardSPL.exe" from my computer:

'prun.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Nothing happens on the device either. I've confirm the cable is connected and the sync icon is GREEN.

Any advice? I tried putting prun.exe in the directory I'm running hardSPL but for some reason the program erases it. Strange. I tried this on two computers with the same result.

Appreciate any feedback.

Thank you.

I finally flashed my Chinese version unlocked Kaiser to a standard HTC Standard English ROM yesterday. After a full day testing, it just worked like a charm. It runs faster and smoother. Thanks for all your great works!

Now, my next project is going to make my original "dumped ROM" raw files (ie, part00 to part003) into an executable file so that I can restore the ROM for warranty purpose. Any one knows how to do it, I mean the easiest way! Thanks.

many of them will - a couple that i have tried that don't work are

- showing the band page on the phone settings - switching between 2g and 3g on the tilt is not a registry entry - as it was on the 8525
- putting the battery or comm manager icons on the tray don't seem to work
either

If you have a Tilt, you can use the Keyboard Fix cab in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334911) to correct your keyboard layout. The Tytn II and At&t Tilt have different keyboard layouts.

Next time try doing some quick searches on the site before posting a question. This helps keep the threads clean.

austinsync,

Can you add this to the list of regedits (obviously if you deem it worthy)?

I was irritated by this issue for a while where you click on the Outlook icon on the home screen, and it doesn't always launch Outlook. If the last mail app used was SMS, then the Outlook icon actually launches SMS. Really annoying. I wanted the Outlook icon to launch Outlook, and the SMS icon to launch SMS, ALL the time. Several people shared this irritation with me.

I figured out how to fix it, and here are the instructions. I wanted to share with the masses.

1 - Make sure the "E-Mail Sample" account is deleted out of your accounts.
*** NOTE: If you don't delete this account first, this fix won't work! Changing the registry key below won't work. The only thing you can do is hard reset. I found that out the hard way. At least that's how it worked for me.

2 - Make sure Outlook is set up to check your mail (not sure this is absolutely necessary).

3 - Using a registry editor, go to HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCHome\Home, and change "AlwaysOpenMailFolder" from 1 to 0.

Using the above solution, the Outlook icon should ALWAYS open Outlook, and the SMS icon should ALWAYS open SMS.

Thanks.

Hi I am totally new to this whole flashing and pocketPC/SmartPhone thing, got a couple of questions

1. My AT&T tilt is not fresh-out-of-the-box anymore..ie, i have been using it for the past week or so, sync'ed with my laptop and added new third-party software to it, can I still flash it with the HTC-ROM? Do I still just have to follow the instructions on the first page? Am I going to lose all those third-party software after i flash it?

2. Since I have sync'ed it with my laptop, are things from the AT&T ROM and all those third-party apps and settings backup'ed on my laptop? Do I have to deleted anything from my laptop so that I can get a clean HTC ROM and that futher sync'ing won't prompt the installation of anything I had before from the AT&T ROM?

3. Are there any useful apps on the AT&T ROM that are absent in the HTC ROM? (ie. Sprite backup?)

Sorry for sounding so stupid, but your help would definitely be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I've put hard SPL on it, but I'm not impressed about the any password thing to get into the device.
It's a security concern, and I was wondering if there was a way to get that back. I don't want somoeone looking at my info if I lose my device. At least let that still be private.

hi totallynew,

1. you still can flash your ROM, just make sure u installed hardSPL on your device. just follow carefully and get yourself a happy ending :). the 3rd party apps will definetely be gone and swept away by the new ROM. unless the ROM are made of identical OS, you could actually make a full backup before flashing, and restore it after. but i don't recomend this though, as it's always good to have a clean install after flashing

2. you don't have to delete anything from your laptop, it will start afresh.

3. and you won't miss a thing on HTC shipped rom.

I followed the kaiser-HardSPL.exe instruction on the DOS screen. Everything worked fine until the PDA ROM update utility wizard starts.

The wizards asked to follow 4 steps where one of them is to establish an ActiveSync connection with my PDA. The problem is that I still have the tri-color screen and the ActiveSync icon is Grey (not connected). To follow those steps I soft reset my devise and then follow all the 4 steps. IS THIS RIGHT?

After I checked the box and clicked next the wizard recognized my ROM version (1.56.405.5) and got the updated one (HardSPL – Kaiser). When clicking next on my PDA screen pops a KAISER JumpSPL v1.0 message and I click on the continue bottom. As soon as I click the three-color screen appears and I lost the connection with my PC (like in the DOS instruction part). So the wizard brings the connection failure message (260) and asks me to quit. I repeated the process for three times and always happen the same.

What I’m doing wrong?

Sorry I have been away for a little while personal needs had to be taken care of. I believe we are almost at a stand still with the Kaiser ROMs until another provider or HTC releases a new build since porting ROM's In my opinion is not the best thing to do and always causes issues. If there is a stable port that someone knows of I will be happy to work it up AustinSnyc style....
So someone keep me up to date as to what's going on around here these days!

this is one excellent guide!

my brother recently got a HTC TyTn II, first it was locked to an Italian ROM, used HardSPL, then installed the factory ROM and am now using Dutty's TouchFlo.

Thank you for this!

In discussing (with HTC support) ways to fix the wireless on my HTC TyTN II, I was told to re-flash the ROM, so I grabbed the factory ROM (1.56.405.5) from the right thread here and found that I have a later version on the device:

Image Version: 1.81.710.1

The phone was supplied by Optus in Australia.

Is this a previously unencountered ROM? If not, does anyone have a convenient link to the right ROM? If it is new, I guess I need to dump it etc.

I installed KaiserTweak on my ATT Tilt, primarily to get rid of the "sleep during call" problem. I installed both the basic Tweak and the update. It seemed to go fine with all of the options listed in the installation notes. Once installed the KaiserTweak seemed to do the following bad things to my Tilt: 1) disabled my Garmin XT (on 2 gb microSD chip using the onboard GPS) by never letting the GPS find the GPS satellites (kept searching indefinitely). But the strenght bars were mostly full, even while dancing around as it moved the satellites trying to find my location (but never did); 2) clock read the wrong time, 3) froze the screan so it no longer responded to taps at all (had to soft reset).

I think I did the installation as suggested (in forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=173158&postcount=591), copying the original KaiserTweak and update to my PC, then unzipping both, copying both to my WM transfer folder on my PC where ActiveSync copied them onto my Tilt. I then placed them in my storage card and executed them from my Tilt. I got the list of potions shown in this forum and selected a few that I wanted (such as turning off the "fast sleep" during telephone calls and a few others. That is when it refused to function properly as mentioned above. After removing the two KaiserTweak files from the storage card and the transfer folder on my PC, I restored my Tilt using Sprite Backup, and it worked fine again. Any thoughts on what may have happened?

I have a BIG problem now.:(
Could someone help me? Please?

I had radio v1.27.12.11, when flashed v1.27.12.17 I got up to 95% then an error.
I have HardSPLv1 installed. As intructions on interruption said, I unpluged USB, Removed Battery, waited few seconds, reinserted, and powered on. I then get the tricolor screen. I plug USB and it changes from "serial" to "usb". Up to then everything is Ok.
Then I run customRUU.exe of the RADIO ROM or a COOKED ROM and it detects the phone, I get the update screen give it a click and from then on it gets to 0%, and few minutes later, computer displays an error and sends me to recovery process (Remove battery, etc..)
When I reflash version .17 or .11 it gets to 0% and gives an error again. (I had Q-Mobile_v1.2_v5.2.1948.18548.0.7.0 rom installed) now I can't get through tricolor screen. I already tried to restore original ROM (ATT ROM:1.57.502.2
RADIO: 1.27.12.11) it gets to 1 or 2% and the gets me a 294 error: Invalid Vender ID
(I own an ATT HTC 8925)
Any ideas how can I get myseflf out of this mess?
Please help!
Thank you.

Hi group,

I was following the suggestions in posting #1 and started with HardSPL, but didn't proceed to the end (without getting troubles). I downloaded and installed RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.5_radio_sign_22.45.88. 07_1.27.12.11_Ship.exe and was a bit astonished to see a similar GUI as with HardSPL.

My question now: Is HardSPL still required or is it possible to flash with the a.m. exe only?

Kind regards

Voice Command works with 6.1 fine for me. I'm using a Vodaphone base rom on my Tilt and Voice Command seems very responsive. I haven't tried doing anything with bluetooth/VC though so I can't verify any of this is working.

Guys,

I need your help. I need to get my hands ASAP on a .exe stock WM6.1 from HTC for the TytnII. It is supposed to be leaked but can not find it yet.

NOT a cooked one as I need to install this new vanilla on my stock device for testing purpose. My device might be used as benchmark - proof or what so ever regarding the driver debacle. (most of you do not have the stock rom on board anymore anyway :D )

ANY serious help to get me a link to a leaked executable (not a RUU one) WM 6.1 would be very very appreciated.

PS. I heard that WM6.1 does NOT include driver solution, so once you have finished your cooking and flashing, can we get back to our common issue which still needs to be solved?

Hi I have an HTC S620 before it was a s621 the ones from Rogers.
The phone is unlocked and now it mounts
Windows Mobile 6 Standard CE OS 5.2.1238 (Build 17745.0.2.3)
ROM version: 1.27.405.1
Radio Version: 4.1.13.44_02.94.90

Looking in the forums I found out about a new version RUU_Excalibur_HTC_WWE_Brightpoint_US_1.33.422.1_4. 1.13.51_03.07.90_Ship.exe
1)I would like to know if this version is NOBRAND?
2)I would like to know if it's the latest version of WM6?
3)Is it a beta ROM?
4)Is it compatible for my S620?
5)Will there be (adobe reader LE, clearvue documents - presentation - worksheet) they are under the folder office?

I read in some forums that this ROM does not have office, so I was wondering what is office, is it the files under the folder office or it's a real office word ecc. that is not present in mine either.

Last question, in forums I found out of a new update WM6 the WM6.1, but I don't understand if its standard or professional WM. Is there anything official, I don't understand, could you please indicate the latest WM for my HTC S620.

:) THANKS IN ADVANCE :)

Are you in the South Florida area? If you are, then T-Mobile is making changes/adjustments/tests in this area which may affect you. See here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366634&page=6

If you are not, then it could be something else.

. . .
-To increase sensivity of TouchFlow: HKLM>Drivers>TouchPanel>PressureThreshold and modify to 200 or more

-Disable TouchFlo scroller: HKLM\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings\ and change EnableScroll key to 0 . . .

I don't like or use TouchFlo, but I felt that my touchscreen sensitivity was poor, especially with a screen protector applied.

I have read, and personally confirmed, that the TouchFlow PressureThreshold setting affects the touchscreen sensitivity in general.

I believe that if you want to increase sensitivity, you need to decrease the PressureThreshold setting, not increase it. I believe this is confirmed by observing the settings in Tweak.xml:

<title>TouchFLO</title>
- (file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Stan/My%20Documents/Cellphones-PDA's/Kaiser/cab's/KaiserTweak.xml#) <tweak>
<title>Sensitivity</title>

<value default="default" disabled="disabled" value="200">Normal</value>

<value advised="advised" value="400">High</value>

<value value="600">Very High</value>

<key>HKLM\Drivers\TouchPanel\PressureThreshold</key>

<description>Change the force you need to apply while using TouchFLO.</description>

</tweak>

As you can see, the tweak is to "Change the force you need to apply while using TouchFLO", i.e. increase the force necessary for a response, not increase sensitivity of the touchscreen.

So, since I desired an increase in screen sensitivity, because I was having to press much more firmly with the stylus than I would like, I set the PressureThreshold to 100, or even down to 50. I now have a much snappier response to my stylus input, and have not experienced over-sensitivity (i.e. premature response).

Does this make sense to anyone else? In scientific terminology, decreasing the threshold increases the sensitivity, so this makes sense to me, and empirically it works for me.

Would appreciate feedback.

PLEASE do not giving other people the wrong information if YOU are NOT sure of what you are doing.

When you decrease the value down to 50, you will sure experience too little sensitivity of the screen. People might have to press the screen so hard in order to get it right. To increase the sensitivity, you have to INCREASE the PressureThreshold setting.

How can you telling people that works?? When you are not even sure.:mad:

I'm more sure than you appear to be, because I've actually tried it - experimented with settings above and below the default setting
.
Upon further testing, 50 may be too low, but 100 works really well.

I believe my reasoning is sound, and you gave no good argument to dispute my reasoning.

[and just one other further observation: I see that you have personally started 4 threads here on xda-developers.com - and every one of them has mis-spellings and poor grammar - yet you are listed as being in U.S.A. - now maybe English is not your native language, but English language and grammar is de rigueur for this forum - FYI per Wikipedia de rigueur is a French (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_language) expression that literally means "of rigor" or "of strictness". I guess my feedback isn't welcome.... If you don't like the feedback, then here you go~~ finger

I guess that is international.

If you have set to 50, I guess your screen will be very unresponsive. The default is 159 with WM6.1

There is no need to argue, just check your setting. I am using 240 and it runs smooth. I just set to 50 for the hell of it, and it was giving me a nightmare. It took me almost 10 mins to reset using regedit and put few scratch marks on my screen protector. That is why I am pissed off.

Why don't you set the number higher and see if you get smoother TouchFLO, and you will know what I mean.

Guys,

To begin, I have the highest respect for all the wizkids :) who program wonderful cooked roms and also not to forget all the great input we get from the experts. I searched and couldn't find anything about the official 6.1 rom for Kaiser but instead found a barage of cooked roms based on the beta 6.1 HTC roms. I am wondering if the cooked roms did solve the issue of exchange syncing and the mms options showing up plus a tweak to all the issues with whichever version of the three leaked betas is present. When will the official 6.1 for Kaiser surface? Does anyone have a clue or an inside source?

Apologies if this was asked in the past but I couldn't find anything on it.

Best regards,

Gilbert

I am using the ROM on post #1 and it works great. I know it is a leak version, and TCPMP doesw not work.... anyway the BT works really good compare with WM6...

i would recommend reading the Kaiser Wiki on how to cook a rom with your native language cooked in. this has been an issue for many people and schaps is the one person I think that knows how to do it the best so you might want to PM him also.

Thx.
I use the schaps 4.22 ROM (WWE) - a great one.
Cooking an own ROM would be an option, but there are a lot of good ROM allready available (made nearly errorfree by comunity) and cooking takes a lot of time.
So at this point it would be great just to install a Multilanguage User Interface (MUI).

If we use HardSPL to unlock the Kaiser, is there a way to go back to the Locked one for warranty purposes???

Hi there. The way I found around this is to not use HardSPL. Someone made a WONDERFUL tool for us to use to flash from a CID Locked phone called JumpSPL1.56-kais which doesnt rewrite your Bootloader. The only issue is if you have an issue with a rom uploading you you have to reinstall the factory shipped rom again before you can reflash ( because JumpSPL has to be run from the phone) I have used this already to flash about 6 roms fairly painlessly :)

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=354061 Should Help you a bit to get going. I use JUMP to install the new roms themselves , rather than use it to install Hardspl and all works great :) Never changing your bootloader means never having to hassle with swapping back for warranty purposes :D

Hope this helps

Here is a quick question I have been unable to search and find an answer too. I am using the HTC Rom Tool v1.1.0 to build a NBH file using Duttys WM6.1 OS build, and WM6.1 radio version 1.58.26.20.

I select the Kaiser device on the rom tool but when I select the Radio file(extracted .nb file) I get a warning that the size of the file is greater than the default file. It looks like this is hard coded in the device.ini file for the tool.

I am assuming that the WM6.1 radio files are larger than the WM6.0 radio files and I just need a new device added to the configuration file and this is not a problem and I can just ignore it.

Input appreciated. Thanks

This may be the wrong thread to ask but I am working on trying to port out the sliding panel homescreen from WM6.1 to WM6.0 for the Blackjack, I have most of the files (all the *bronze and all the *chome + confetticore) there seems to be some conflicts or dependencies missing I tried updating the aygshell.dll but that caused the ROM to not boot and without it the cooked roms start but no sliding panel screen works and the "Home" key is non-functional. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone know where I can get it?

Sorry for my ignorance, but what does WWE stand for?

Also:
My TyTN II was sold by Claro (Brazil), and its radio version isn't even listed anywhere in here. Given that a make a backup of the ROM and radio beforehand (which I'll add to this site's database), can I flash it with any other ROM + Radio, as long as radio matches the new ROM's requirements? Or once in a certain radio version I cannot change?

I am quite new to this, so please bear me for a while! Tks!

What is your radio version?

rom 1.88.514.1 PTB (Portuguese - Brazil)
date 02/01/08
radio 1.27.15.21
proto 22.51.88.13H
Sold by Claro ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claro_(mobile_phone_network) )

Funny thing is: although this is the most common radio version down here, I haven't seen it for download anywhere. I'm looking forward to adding it to xda-developers.

...I thought I would ask it anyway:

1. I had a stock ROM on my Tilt (_ATT Tilt_RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_1.62.502.0_radio_sign _22.45.88.07_1.27.14.09R2_Ship.exe) and made a full backup (using SPB Backup v. 2.0.1 build 3092) before upgrading to...

3. Since then I have a backlight resetting itself to 10 seconds no matter how I configure it (tried Start-->Settings-->System-->Backlight->Battery Power setting option set for 2 minutes, then even unchecked it completely, yet the device still dims the screen in 10 seconds). It dims even on AC Power.

Toying with registry entries such as HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevel , reseting the value LockLevel back to 0 did not help either - the damn backlight keeps reverting back to 10 sec.

Please help!

If hard resetting as mentioned by AllTheWay above does not work, then i have cabbed up my backlight settings registry edits. Try installing it, and then soft reset. Let me know if it fixes your backlight issues. I do not have any issues with the backlight personally so i thought this might help.

I have the same issue. ATT sucks. I'd love to address this (as well as the crap music files that ATT puts in the root of the windows folder as part of the original ROM, so they cannot be deleted).

Please report if you find a fix. I'll continue to search as well, but geez. At this point, I'd rather load up the original HTC Rom if I knew it would work correctly on my ATT Tilt and allow me to still completely utilize the ATT network.

Try support, then downloads maybe? Finding the OEM download link is pretty easy, at least for the TyTN 2. Haven't looked for others, since I don't own others. If you have a hard time with that, any other help someone offers is just as likely to end up helping you brick another phone. Nobody really wants to get in on that. Read the WIKI, read various rom threads, there are countless posts dedicated to helping get past all of this. The more you read, the less questions you will have.
