On the Orange SPV E650, you can edit the following registry keys and use your own Animated GIF files:-

Example:

HKLM,"Software\HTC\Startup\Image="\Windows\PAH_Vista_Startup.gif" (no quotes)
HKLM,"Software\HTC\Shutdown\Image="\Windows\PAH_Vista_Shutdown.gif" (no quotes)

It doesn't work with the non-Orange VOX as it requires \Windows\oemstartup.dll to play the animated GIF files.

For non-Orange devices, only the static image can be updated by editing the following keys:-

HKLM,"System\Startup\1\Splash = "\Windows\PAH_Vista_Startup.gif" (no quotes)
HKLM,"System\Shutdown\1\Splash = "\Windows\PAH_Vista_Shutdown.gif" (no quotes)

I created my own "Vista" ones to go with my "PAH VISTA" homescreen.

I dunno what the impact is of using oemstartup.dll and creating the registry keys on a non-Orange device, as I don't have one.
The Keys are:-

HKLM,"System\Startup\1\Dll = "\Windows\oemstartup.dll" (no quotes)
HKLM,"System\Shutdown\1\Dll = "\Windows\oemstartup.dll" (no quotes)

I'll upload the file if anyone wants to try it.
NOTE: You do this at your own risk, I will not be held responsible if it messes with your device as I haven't personally tested this, nor know of the outcome.

If anyone is willing, please advise the results.

HI paholman,
the first method to do the boot splash sreen is easy.
you do the nbh file with witch bmp file you want and you put it in the RUU ISPL from Jockyw2001 and you flash your vox and it work fine.
your PAH_Vista theme from Modaco work perfectly.
