Very strange for your Audio manager, I've got one working on my 7.0b.
If you want it, I could upload it for you, but now I'm not on the correct computer so I don't have it. I'll try to upload it tomorrow ;)
I'm using the Slither's flash cube because I cannot get the "real" cube to work and everything is working fine.

Hope the HTC Album is going to be ported on our devices, because it's a very nice app. Think we should pray lol :D

Guys just try it, I don't have SDHC Card otherwise I will do it by myself :D If you have problem in the worst case, just hard reset your PDA everything will back to normal :)

There is absolutely no such prob with the ROM.
May I know what do you mean by the freezing of calelndar? It does n't restart if you click on it? Or something else?..let me know? OK!!

This file cab is suitable for 7.0b because the cab file content TouchFlo, Cube, Cube control, and TouchFlo control.

I did SDHC did work but now I can not use SD card. I will try Jason cab to see if it will work on XDA II. Is there any which support both?

You seem to have installed some other 3rd party prog which has interface with the appointments data. identity that and try uninstalling that....

I do not own a SDHC card to test with but I do know that once you install the SDHC driver SD cards only work after reformat, I believe to FAT32, not sure, can't find the correct thread. Perhaps your SHDC card needs a format as well??

sounds like normal behaviour to me. Today plugins load at soft/hard reset. Some can not unload until the next reset. Some can, but not when other plugins are loaded on top.

I had yesterday the bug I had with Tofclock rom :mad:
I needed to soft-reset but phone hanged on WM6 boot screen.

the only way to remove cabs from rom is to DUMP the rom...delete the cabs,and all associated files...and then rebuild it..so in easy words its not easy if u r a noob with rom cooking

I dump the rom but it in one folder, mix one with another. It is difficult to chose one by one :) any Idea about this ?

You have anyway hardreset the device after you flaash this or any ROM. So, the installed cabs shall automatically vanish...Dont worry. Simply flash the ROM..

I believe umetnik wants to remove some OEM packages from the ROM before flashing. Can be done but will not result in more storage as umetnik expects.
The OS ROM size and space are fixed to 32 MB even if you'd strip your ROM bare naked. There is no DOC_tool_lookalike that can shift OS ROM space to Storage. :-(

solution: remove software one by one to find the culprit

solution: put device in your freezer, pull the freezer's plug, save energy

I suggest you to delete all content of your storage card before flashing :) or format it if necessary :)

Copy your data to your hard disk you can bring back later ;) even you flash your rom, but still there are part of the system on your storage card that may be make trouble

I am happy that you are liking the ROM.
Yes the sms wakeup still does not work. The sms alertfix does not work with WM6 any more.
BTW change the OS ver in your signature. check-->settings-->system-->about on your device..

master c_shekhar there is a thread here re:sms fix.. this fixes the sms alert notification.. my himalaya now wakes-up everytime i received message.. a job well done.. now it fixes all the bugs.. great job masters..

Ya I did soft reset with out using stylus. I have noticed as follows:-

After hard reset , and installing the ExtROM, I installed the SMSAlertFix, and it wakesup. And no problem.
After I install all the 3rd party softwares and test the SMSAlertFix, it is still working. No problem.
When I sync it with my PC and all my pim.vol data(contact,appointment,tasks etc) comes into my Hima, the SMSAlertFix stops working. It does not wakeup.
I checked the registry. e is a clash in [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{3AB4C10E-673C-494c-98A2-CC2E91A48115}] . This registry is for mapirule.dll. May be (my guess) is the cause for it to not work.

I dont hv a himalaya device, I dont know that if this stack work or not, I just combine this stack just by seing dump registry of [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\Active] and [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn] of running himalaya device (registry files aer provide by double_ofour)

ONCE AGAIN, USE AT UR OWN RISK!!

Instalation:
1. Turn off MS BT (Maybe not neccesarry)
2. Install the cab
3. Done (should be)

I've attached a file which I used previously in wm2003se which switches in between widcomm and MS bt stack. I really don't know if this would work on wm6 and I'm afraid to try. If somebody or someone is brave enough to try please tell me if it works, but dont hold me liable for anything if anything happens to your device. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

P.S. I can't seem to remember the specific file name, just try any of the file attached.

You dont need any other BT stack for this. Enable file sharing in BT settings. And sync with PC thru BT. I am using it this way. No prob..

Another issue crop up, regarding the bluetooth, i can't seem to receive files via bluetooth, my friends phone can't seem to send files to me, sending to them ends in an error, all of their phone giving send error.

I have tried enabling and disabling the bluetooth explorer and bluetooth file sharing, reset the phone, switching off and on the bluetooth , also tried enabling and disabling the receive beam transfer all to no avail. I've tried pairing and unpairing the phones to no avail too.

The phones are a nokia, a treo and a motorola.

What other steps am i missing ?

Try once again, Open your bluetooth but not only "on" but check the option so your device can be found by another device :) so your friend can sent something to you. You don't need pairing for files transfer :)

Himalaya don't have wireless on board, If you have wifi your may be blueangel :D

I am able to receive as well as send files photos and tones to/from my wife's sony-erricson as well as nokia. Cant say abt other models.

hi guys have been running ur rom aku7.0c for a while now and i have noticed some problems. im using the same software etc as i was using with ur 7.0b rom(which was very stable indeed except for slow scrolling) but now my phone wakes up itself every few minutes sometimes. This does not happen all the time(although dont know how much it happens as when i take the phone out of my pocket many times the screen is on and some programs are running) but have seen it wake up n then sleep n after a minute or two wakes up again. no notice etc is displayed and the device sleeps again after a while and repeats the whole thing again :confused:

i have a problem with the caller id .. i have 2 numbers sharing the last 7 digits

they appear to me with one name in the phone .. is there anyway i could change it through the registry cuz i think that the phone setting showing the
names depending on the last 7 digits. so all the numbers which sharing the last 7 digits will appear with one name.

Yes, I always give people hope, because may be there is something that I don't know how to solve it but others can do :) Many people asked this one, and If you search around this forum, you will find a chance to upgrade using SD Card directly, but don't ask me how hard this way

I have seen this thread already. But, unfortunately 3.5 is too heavy to be part of hima ROM.
But, with the existing 2.0 the ROM is rock stable and supports most of the progs requiring NETCF:rolleyes:

Honestly speaking, I have fallen in love with WkTask after trying so many task managers. The best features are :-

The commandline paramenters. I can assign closeOK to any of the hard button and close the applications more easily. I have assigned it to my record button at present.
The easy launcher. Assign launcher to single tap on the top titlebar and you have ready launcher for your favorite applications.
The X/OK button is skinnable. You can assign any goodlooking button for X/OK job.

i have a problem with the caller id .. i have 2 numbers sharing the last 7 digits

they appear to me with one name in the phone .. is there anyway i could change it through the registry cuz i think that the phone setting showing the
names depending on the last 7 digits. so all the numbers which sharing the last 7 digits will appear with one name.

Dear friend it should not happen at all If you have used this ROM on your HIMA.

Try reflashing it. If not done then it perhaps is hardware prob...

this is puzzling! Are you sure you're running activesync v 4.5? Is your battery fully charged and in good condition?

112 is setup failure. It can be problem with the rom files or many other reason which is not in our mind :) May be better you download again the ROM and try to reflash it :)

No it didnt. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. My I am still trying to conclude the conditions in which it works perfectly. But, my wife has stopped allowing me sending test SMS s from her mobile now (as I was spending her resources recklessly for testing).
It is really making me restless too much.

BTW would you try solving the BT prob of @mantd. I am out for a week now...

Another issue crop up, regarding the bluetooth, i can't seem to receive files via bluetooth, my friends phone can't seem to send files to me, sending to them ends in an error, all of their phone giving send error.

I have tried enabling and disabling the bluetooth explorer and bluetooth file sharing, reset the phone, switching off and on the bluetooth , also tried enabling and disabling the receive beam transfer all to no avail. I've tried pairing and unpairing the phones to no avail too.

The phones are a nokia, a treo and a motorola.

What other steps am i missing ?

By the way, why u didn't use zoom sms in ur rom, this also could solve the prob.

first flash, battery lasted till 35%, flashed again, and it now goes down to 11%

NOT POSSIBLE as far as i know. a BLUETOOTH connection will not work unless you have activesyned the unit. and to active sync you need to have a OS loaded. The Himalaya does not have WiFi, so sorry dude, you WILL need a USB cable to flash your ROM.

You dont need any other BT stack for this. Enable file sharing in BT settings. And sync with PC thru BT. I am using it this way. No prob..

Are you trying to flash a .nba file??? You should use the .nbf file as it comes in the distributions

Ya I am back. Yes you seem to be very right dear. I had never thought about zoomsms. That also can solve the prob. Thanks for the idea as you always are best on it.
Actually,tha reason was, that I was using SmileySMS 1.53 for reading the incoming SMS and was liking it more than zoomSMS. It displays the smileys also. How much heavy is the MSvoice command BTW?

I am usin brodcomm BT dongle on my PC and I am able to sync on BT with out any prob. In active sync connection settings choose the same com port on which your BT client is configured on PC.

obviously man! i am not going to make such a noob mistake as to not set the port.
i was using a Broadcomm dongle with Widcomms BT Stack Drivers
i have just installed Widcomms Stack on my hima as well, lets see if that solves the problem.

edit: Yeh its the stacks problem. i patched with Helmis and installed the given Widcomm Stack and Active Sync runs smooth over BT. all services working like they should.
Maybe it the difference between the I-Mate Pocket PC and the XDA

P.S. I can't seem to remember the specific file name, just try any of the file attached.

Well, I tried doing this on my own, the file doesn't work, I mean the stack switcher. I had the widcomm stack installed, and it works perfectly fine except that, as what shekar mentioned, it made hima crawl, but still at a manageable speed. I was forced to try the stack switcher because after I installed the widcomm stack, although I am able to send and receive files, the "send to bluetooth recepient menu" on file explorer does not appear. I really didn't notice it before since I was able to send contacts through bluetooth using the interface on the contacts but not through file explorer, I noticed this one day when I need to send a file to a different phone. So I thought it was because of the widcomm stack, so I tried installing the stack switcher, disabled the widcomm stack, enable the ms stack, then restarted the phone, but still no "send to bluetooth recipient" menu on the file eplorer, I tried uninstalling the widcomm stack, still the same. the stack switcher didn't work. I wasn't able to enable the ms stack. Can anybody tell what I have done wrong? or at least tell me how to get the "send to bluetooth recipient" menu to appear? please help.

Now I find your real problem. Actuall you are not able to use the default MS exlorer. Instead you are using gsfinder. The blame goes on me as I have replaced the default explorer with gsfinder in the ROM.
Now you should
1. go to \windows and find fexplorer.exe
2. create the shortcut of fexplorer.exe in \windows\start menu\programs
3. Now use this for exploring the files and in the context menu you shall find all that we have mentioned in the earlier post...

I am trying to upgrade my oda II but got stuck with the the following:

Put your device in Bootloader (Hold RECORD+POWER+ACTION+RESET)
2. Run the installer then click install, Wait till finish.

What is "ACTION" and "RESET"?

1. Start your device in bootloader mode by pressing and holding down:
DPad + PowerButton + ResetButton
After a second release ResetButton, then release the rest of them.
Your screen will show word "Serial" at the top.
You are in bootloader mode now.
2. Start the ROM upgrade Utility and wait for it to finish
3. Hard reset your pda.
Press ResetButton and hold down CameraButton + RecordButton.
Hold them pressed until the "Boot Options" menu appears on the screen.

Select the options as follows:
(for selecting use RecordButton, change values with CameraButton)

Enable KITL -> NO
Clean Registry Hive -> YES
Format Storage -> YES

When done, press DPad and wait until OS starts.

4. Done.

When I attempt to upgrade from Helm's WM6 ROM to Xplode's WM6 ROM I am getting an error. The installer gets the device data when I go next it will sit for a couple of minutes and then display the message "Error 101:Connection Error".

I am able to synch OK. I have rebooted both my PC and PPC.

Is anyone able to identify what the connect problem might be.

The only issue I had was when I receive a call I need to answer throught the xda2 and goto menu and select "put handsfree on". Is there a way to allways use this option avoiding to select from the menu?

Your screen will show word "Serial" at the top.
You are in bootloader mode now.
2. Start the ROM upgrade Utility and wait for it to finish
3. Hard reset your pda.
Press ResetButton and hold down CameraButton + RecordButton.
Hold them pressed until the "Boot Options" menu appears on the screen.

Select the options as follows:
(for selecting use RecordButton, change values with CameraButton)

Enable KITL -> NO
Clean Registry Hive -> YES
Format Storage -> YES

When done, press DPad and wait until OS starts.

4. Done.

The only issue I had was when I receive a call I need to answer throught the xda2 and goto menu and select "put handsfree on". Is there a way to allways use this option avoiding to select from the menu?

I'm trying to use my PC as a handsfree with this s/w www.phonecontrol.net
The problem is if I start a call from this s/w I get sound on pc speakers but if I receive a call and answer from that s/w the audio gateway don't go to PC unless I go to menu (on the phone) and choose "turn handsfree on".
Is there a code or something else (like a AT command) which could be do it automaticaly?
The same happens if I do it w/o that s/w (using only BT stack and starting/answering a call straight from the xda2).

When I attempt to upgrade from Helm's WM6 ROM to Xplode's WM6 ROM I am getting an error. The installer gets the device data when I go next it will sit for a couple of minutes and then display the message "Error 101:Connection Error".

I am able to synch OK. I have rebooted both my PC and PPC.

Is anyone able to identify what the connect problem might be.

You're right! The problem is the PhocoAdapter s/w which is needed to connect phocoPC to phocoPPC. After a reset everything works fine between BT PCxPPC.

Activesync seems unstable
Sync with vista - take off cradle use internet/gprs - put back on cradle - device unknown type - reset pda everything ok again

No ather90, if you're asking me, its a rom for XDA II. My XDA II originally came with rom ver 1.52.00 WWE Asia Rom (English Version) till I flash it with WM6. I have to admit all of you cooked a fantastic WM6 rom except that I need the 1.52.00 WWE (English Version) just in case should I need to revert back. I know that O2 provides rom ver 1.60.00 WWE in their current website but I like the 1.52.00 WWE (English Version) better as it is more stable. There is also a 1.52.00 WWE rom in O2 website but unfortunately its in Chinese. Anyway for me to locate an English version of it or any ftp sites that store this rom? Any help in sharing this info with me is greatly appreciated.

I have seen this thread already. But, unfortunately 3.5 is too heavy to be part of hima ROM.
But, with the existing 2.0 the ROM is rock stable and supports most of the progs requiring NETCF:rolleyes:

BTW

1. You must be seeing a folder \ExtROM here which has few cabs and tsk files. Place this folder on \Storage Card of your device.

2. You can add the files which you wish to autoinstall after hard reset to this folder. But, dont forget to modify the \Storage Card\ExtROM\Config.txt accordingly.

3. Mark all cab files as read only.

You now have the Extended ROM back on your device but on the storage card this time.... Enjoy.

4. Install PPCPimbackup utility by Dotfred on your existing ROM and backup your SMS using that. And then flash the new ROM.The utility is available in this folder also.

For installing the radio 1.17 simply place the Radio_.nbf of ver 1.17 (or the one you wish to install) in the same folder where nk.nbf and himaupgrade.exe are resting. And simply run the himaupgrade.exe. The radio also shall upgrade along with the ROM. For upgrading only the radio then remove the nk.nbf from the folder and do the same...

i have one little problem. the tcpmp dont play my usual avi file. it says it doesnt support mpeg 4 files. huhu. i i done the searching and seems like im the only one that has this problem.

guys i checked and this is the result:

installed 0.66- same error
installed 0.81 RC1 beta- success!!! after setting it same as setting with 0.66.

first i wana ask you how u connect it ? mean by bluetooth or cable do you have GPRS setting in ppc ?wich bluetooth software you using ?like wedcomm etc when you dial which error you got ?if u done all setting in ur ppc then go to control panel on your pc click on phone and modem then click on modem and then Bluetooth Modem or USB Modem then click on properties and type there AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","your apn","",0,0
then ok and where i write your apn there you need to write ur provider apn and try now hope it will work

Error 101 means that ur PDA is not connected to ur PC..make sure its connected directly to Ur pc's USB hub not via a Splitter or to the front of your pc..also make sure u are in bootloader mode..if u are using Windows Vista make sure u follow all the steps carefully..i recommend flashing in XP

my device is XDA II, i'm trying to flash WM2006 AKU7.0 RAMDisk-40MB Pagepool size-24MB for Himalaya. while flashing system went into sleep mode and when I tried to flash again i got 101 connection error mesage.
but i can see the screen in USB mode with V.103 in device.
i tried to flash the rom using Host11.exe pnewbootloader.exe, nothing helps. USB connection gives error. I tried with 2 different system still got the same error.
Any help to get my device back in working will be great.

I alsaadie, well I've installed this version yesterday from 2003. And I have a Spanish operator card that is currently in Portugal in roaming, And I sent and received two international sms messages without problem. I also don't have the paste problem you refer.

I Have this rom for 2 months or so and everything works wonderful except one thing...

When someone sends me an SMS, he gets 'the message was delivered notice' but I don't get nothing. It happened now for the third time. When I reinstall the rom, it works great for week or two, but then the problems begin. I believe you can imagine how annoying this could be... :(

Is there anyone having the same problem. I would really like to find out what is causing this error. I really don't want to change my XDA just because of that...:(

There is SMS_Alert_Fix needed for hima. There is already a separate thread dealing with this problem on the forum in hima section. But for convinience I am attaching the cab file here as well. Kindly instal this cab on your device and soft reset.
It Makes the device wake up as soon as the new SMS arrives and the SMS does not get lost. But I have noticed that the device fails to wakeeup in case of unicode SMS (mainly service messages) but receives them successfully.

There is no way the phone will connect to service provider. Neither does the contacts function... My service provider is Vodafone Spain. I've tried with different sims, but no solution. Tried to reflash several times, but still the problem.

I have a friend with a different PDA, where it just wont connect using Windows Live Msgr, so I think it would be worth a try to test this version for her

What is your Radio ROM Version? I encountered this problem also with 1.17 Radio version I think Upgrading to 1.18 or 1.19 solves your case too.

There is no harm in trying. But I am not having any such problem with radio 1.17. try sms_alert_fix that should take care of this proble....

After upgrading to WM6 Version 7.0a.40CS, ActiveSync 3.8 malfunctions with error 608.
If I check "Enable advanced functionality," but I'm getting no error whatsoever, it just doesn't detect it.

I started the installation by holding Action button + Power + Reset for bootloader mode.
Then I run the "HimaUpgradeUt_noID."
So far, I didn't do anything else.
I attempted downgrading ROM, but I realised it wouldn't work since ActiveSync doesn't work.
I am not an expert on these so I appreciate your help.

yes upgradeing rom succesfull,
1.I upgrade without radio.nbf
but XDA cannot turn on to phone mode....signal!
2.I try upgrade using Radio.nbf in same folder as himaupgradeUT.exe but result is error...

before phone was hang in O2 logo when I receive from customer...
after upgrade phone succesfull not hang again...but about 5 to 10 minute restart...

Hi c_shekhar!! Thank you very much for this wonderful rom.It's great.
But i have a little problem(it's not with your rom it's me who made it).
I backed up my contacts using 'xbackup' from the wm3 version i had and saved them on the storage card.The problem is that 'Backup Pim' doesn't read the old database although the file is named 'CompactFlashBackupPim'.
I try to restore it but the program is not seeing it.What should i do?

I can only say that you have not read the readme properly. I had mentioned in that about pim back up. I had also given the copy of the new version of pim back (dotfred's) for making the backup of contacts and sms.

Yes I know you are right.Stupid me thought i'll also find xbackup on the new version of wm.In fact i thought it will be a newer vers of backup but it will still read the old database.This is why i didn't respect all your steps:((((

It's best advised for you to upgrade to version 4.5 of ActiveSync. 3.8 is rather old and can more often than not cause problems.

who can HELP me on the upgrading?
Actually, I have upgraded my Himalaya successfully. from WM2003->WM5. but I can not upgrade this OS smoothly this time. after press that 3 buttons and reset, the "serial" appeared. it became to 'USB' after I connected my PDA to the candle.
unluckly, it always shows "ERROR 101 Connection ERROR" after I run HimaUpgradeUt_noID.exe.
who could give me some hint on this issue? Thank you in advance.

BTW, I use the Vista and Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1
