right now, when an incoming call happens, it will ring about 3 times before it drops to voicemail... is there a way to extend this to 6 or 10 rings, so i can at least make a feeble attempt to answer or see who it is before it goes offline to voicemail...?

I beleave 30 seconds is the longest you can set the ring for. Go to >phone>menu>options>services>call forwarding>get settings.

Depends on your carrier. AT&T is 30 seconds max but you will want to set it for 25 seconds as setting it for 30 seconds costs a minute worth of airtime if they don't pick up. AT&T uses a piece of software called Snooper to set this length on your account. You can just call customer care and they will fix ya up in a jiffy. I'm not sure about other carriers but I assume the process is similiar.

The nice thing about this is you can cut your own ringtones up to match the length of the rings so they either loop properly or end right as the rings end. I will say though that for whatever reason the ring time changes back for me from time to time and I have to call back up and have them change it again. Not sure what causes this. I haven't done this in ages so they may have fixed that issue.
