I am thinking of getting a case to protect my Kaiser...
What do you guys think of this HTC Kaiser Body Guardz:

I know it is transparent, but it is not clear if it will protect it from falls, etc...I doubt it...

weird ...
every other variations of the Kaiser ( TYTN II/8925/TILT/Vario III )is out of stock except for the "TILT" is available for ordering ...
http://www.thepocketsolution.com/PSI-42589.html
must be vendor error or NOT YET AVAILABLE ( should all be same ... except for the single camera model ) ... I would email & ask ... I think this is just website putting it up way before the device came out ... ( roughly within the last 2 weeks, if you covering all the variations coming to be reality. )
curious ... on one of the demo video ... they had the iPhone protected right over that touchscreen ... I got to thinking ...
if their measurement are top notch ... hopefully the one for the Kaiser does the covering for the screen too !!
we can skip the screen protector altogether ( its thickness replacing the screen protector's thickness ) ... LOL
those thing dries to an invisible result !! COOL stuffs ... I'll be ordering one for sure .. plus I'll get a cool case as well. ( because the guardz is mainly for nick & scratches ... not dropping.
The bodyguardz is because my Kaiser deserved the spoiling ... hahahah :D

this is weird indeed... I just checked a moment - it doesn't update the stock status until you get into the cart...I will shoot them an email?
what non-magnetic flip case would you recommend?

I like that the back of the Kaiser is "slightly rubberized" it keeps it from slipping around like the old Hermes did. Does this cover feel the same way? I probably wouldn't go for it either way, but, if it is slippery, it takes away a nice feature IMO.

I put something like this on my wife's iPhone and it works great. Well worth the investment and it really cuts down on the fingerprint smudges (the iPhone is flat out impossible to keep smudge free). I used this skin and bought one of the thin ruberized cases, and my 14 month old daughter has knocked it off tables on several occassions with not a scatch or even a blip of the screen. I have to admit for all it's lack of features, that thing is TOUGH and makes a great device for my wife. I also like the peace of mind that the thing can get thrown around her purse to her hearts content right beside that massive key ring and all I have to do is peel that thing off and it will look like new.
I wonder how well it would suit the Kaiser though since it has more moving parts. On the two occasions my daughter has knocked my 8125 off the coffee table, I have cringed. No damage, but on one occasion the battery door got knocked off, thus forcing a soft reset. Even with one of these covers, I am thinking the sliding keyboard and pop off battery cover will make it more prone to injury, even when it is in a decent case.
Bottom line, I'll be making sure my Kaiser is out of reach!!

As i've mentioned earlier about the iPhone howto video ...
Could you tell me how good the touch sensitive screen reponses when it have the "bodyguardz" covered ??
note: ... only certain kit(s) goes this way of "covering the whole screen" ... if it works well ... I hope the TyTN II kit do the same ... :p
thickness is similar to a screen protection I guess ... there's one video for the MACBOOK and it does the "covering of the mouse's touchpad" as well ... so I guess it works really well then.

ok guys (and any girls) i just applied the BodyGuardz to my Kaiser and took a few pics before hitting the road... I've included 10 pics in the attached zip file. they're not the best pics, but hopefully they give you some perspective on fit, look, etc. keep in mind that it takes 24 hours for the bubbles to disappear. the pics were taken about 3 hours after application so you'll see some bubbles here and there. by the way, you get 2 sets of skins and 3 screen protectors with the kit. each set includes a skin for the left and right sides, one for the top, one for the back and one for the front. the left side skin also covers the bottom of the phone. so far I'm pleased. i like the somewhat tacky-feel and now i know my phone will be protected from scratches when in my pocket. overall this is a pretty good value.

Would anyone else be likely to purchase a screen and phone body protective case from ShieldZone if they have one available?
I have used these on many of my gadgets and they are the best around (IMHO)
I just emailed them to see if one is in the works and will post back with their reply when I recieve it.

I too think they make the best protection for our devices. I've used them on my previous Wizard and Hermes and loved them. The problem I see with putting them on the Kaiser/Tilt is that there's really not much real estate to cover. There's the screen (of course), but that's about it. I personally wouldn't want to cover the back because I like the grip I can get from it. The sides are "ridged", and can't be covered. And the rest of the face is just too small to cover.
But they're really good about making custom shields if you bring in your device to them and it's only like $10 more than their usual charge. But once they make a template, no more custom build fees. :)

i too had reservations about using a "skin" to protect my Kaiser. i just recently applied the BodyGuardz to my device and as of know, i think i'll continue to use them. this is a link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1577673&postcount=11) to some pictures (some good, some not so good) in case anyone's interested to see how it turn out.

i had this for my wizard. I love how friendly customer service was. If for some reason, you screw up your cover, which is pretty hard to do, then you can ask them to ship you another one paying for shipping as long as you register.
Only complaint is that it's a little too thick. Didn't feel good with the stylus. But at least I was confident that my screen wasn't going to get damaged.

yes, it's thin and it covers a significant portion of the device. durability is good at the moment...time will tell how well it protects the device.

I am pretty sure it will unless it covers 100% of the back. I kept my protection film on the battery cover for 2 days of use, when i took it off, there was a very noticeable trace from where it was.

The iPhone uses a differnet screen technology so it is hard to compare. After using the iPhone, the HTC screens feel old school.
But at any rate, the skin is a bit thicker than a screen protector and although the iPhone usablity is still fine, I think it might be a bit annoying for the Kaiser. Most screen protectors I have used are pretty hard and smooth, the body guards are more tacky, and you'd likely get some drag when using a stylis. From the later posts, it looks like the body guards come with a seperate screen protector.
As far as protection, this will in no way keep you device out of harms way. The reason is works so well for the iPhone is that there are no moving parts. This is a big difference!

I bought the ShieldZone full phone protectors for my Blackjack and my Hermes. I didn't really like it on the Blackjack but it made the Hermes much easier to handle, it actually gives it some "stick" so it didn't feel like it would slip out of my hand all the time. On the downside, the "professional installation" wasn't very good and the corners of the guards started to peel away. The battery cover part is very good though and adds the right amount of grip for me.
As for the Kaiser, I wanted something a little less "tacky/sticky" since it has touchflo, I tried one of the ShieldZone screen protectors and just didn't like it. I ended up getting one of the Martin Fields protectors and absolutely LOVE IT. Smooth, very very smooth and crystal clear. Fits perfectly. I'm a fan. I bought them for my Blackjack and my HTC S620 as well.
if you're interested... www.overlayplus.com (they have them under the AT&T Tilt and the HTC TYTN II).
Cheers.

I say video because it gives you a much better idea of how it looks over pictures. That would be sweet. I think these solutions are much better than a bulky case.

I have the invisibleSHIELD Full Body Cover ordered for my Tilt (had previously used it on my 8125).
It is durable and takes a beating.
Initially it feels "Sticky" like rubberized coating but does wear to a fine sheen after a couple of moths of regular use.

Yes InvisibleSHIELD Screen Protector is th exact same material as the Body Cover.
This is the stuff that was developed to wrap helicoptor rotor blades as protection along the leading edges against rocks & stuff.
It's good, I can't wait to get my Tilt covered, really nervous until it arrives.
BTW, they don't have teh Tilt listed yet even though the HTC Kaiser is listed. For the Tilt, call there toll free number they'll have to do it as a custom order but it is avaliable (I was told design was finished just days ago).

Regarding InvisibleSHIELD here's what I can tell you from personal experience...
The material is amazing. I've had a screen protector last over a year on a Wizard with no noticable signs of wear.
The one on my first Hermes is going on 8 months and still perfect.
The one on my second Hermes is at 6 months and in mint condition.
If you buy the body shield then there are gaps BUT it does cover as much as possible and they do their best (on the Wizard at least) to get the corners.
Also once stuck on, it takes effort to remove unlike earlier screen protectors i used that always seemed to peel at the edges.
Their customer service is top notch and you will get a refund if you return it within 30 days because you're not happy with the quality.

I really love InvisibleShield - used them on devices like Garmin GPSs - but I've always been nervous of putting them on PDAs with touch screens because they have to be applied wet and you squeegee out the excess water - right under the frame of the screen and into the digitiser! Has nobody had problems with water screwing the touch screen??? If they really are safe, my order will be in tomorrow...

This is probably the 6th or 7th device I've applied an invisibleSHIELD to and I've never had the solution cause a problem.
You only need to apply a slight misting to the adhesive side of the skin. I accomplish this by spraying over the skin instead of directly onto it.

I receive my Full body skin a couple of days ago and easily installed.
Then I looked and realized that there was no skin for the sides! Well that doesn't seem right.
So I called them yesterday and they confirmed that there should have been pieces to wrap around the sides (between the sliding face and the battery cover) so they are shipping me the missing pieces.
It seems my problem arose from the fact that I ordered before it was listed on their sight so it was handled as a custom order instead of simply pulled from inventory.
Customer service is always friendly.

ugh just hit back by accident and lost my whole post.
last night my att tilt fel out of my 8525 seidio.com holster while I was running & fell across the whole driveway. it was horrible & its all scratched up now.
it fits fine in the 8525 holster & seidio doesn't have a holster available for the tilt until later this month.
using ppc6700 holster (which doesn't fit/hold it as well) till then. but im hoping to get a new tilt & get a full body invisible shield for it.
I ordered a screen protector for my htc s630 cavalier from invisible shield & its been almost a month but still hasn't come. I got the 20% off email but I think someone said that's expired now. never the less, is better give me a deep discount since my first order is so delayed. I know they are backed up with all their ipod orders (least that is there excuse) but this beyond reasonably delayed at this point. kve seen ppl order after me & receive theirs.
plus the only place to have a holster for the cavalier is pocket solutions but its out of stock so I wait to use my cavalier till that's back in stock & I get one cus I must have a holster. i hate keeping in a pocket. but obviously a holster is not enough protection so the full body invisible shield should work but I think what im getting for the cavalier is just a screen protector because I think that is all that was listed for products for that device.
meantime I have this crappy smoked clear casing for the cavalier with an attachable clip which sucks cus its perm attached to the phone instead of to pants like a holster & defeats the purpose of it being a thin smartphone. got froma medrchant through amazon using a amazon reward to pay for all $10 or so of it so prob not worth returning.
sucks seidio.com won't make a holster for a device unless a major carrier has it. so no seidio holster for the cavalier and have to wait till poclket solutins get back in stock.
don't want to order another 8525 holster for my tilt so this is going to suck using my 6700 one that doesn't reallly fit it securely til end of month when seidio makes theirs available ( I think they produce thbeir own custom holsters).
hopefully I can get a new tilt & get a full body invisible shield for it at a discount due to delay of my is cavalier scfreen protector.
meantime I wait wait wait for cavalier is screen porotector, pocket solution cavalier holster to come back in stock, seidio to tilt holster to come out & then when I order full body invisible shield for my tilt that wil be another delay & wait im sure.
ugh. meantime I got a scratched up tilt with factory screen protector in a ppc6700 (htc apache) holster & afraid to use my cavalier til I get holster & screen protector cus I paid over 500 whereas tilt was cheaper due to 2yrf price early upgrade.
usualluy I don't care about banging up a phonr & especialy hate leahter poches.
I used to like for it to get a little beat up over time to make me want to get a new phone but I really like the tilt & cavalier & it will improve its resale value so I think fully body invisible shield & holster is the way to go for me.
hmm...got them 2day and need to say i m not impressed.
there are some elements mising that is one thing. but the bits i applied are not cut properly. the only element i like is the back cover. the elements seem to be too small and even if some how you would manage to apply them into the correct place which is not that easy cos you have no starting point they would still not cover my device.
i mailed the customer service and will see what happens next.

their wording on the website is that they have no control over what Canadian custom can do ( holding ..etc )
I've checked my "order status" and it's due Nov/09 ( Friday ) ... it's only Monday today ... so we'll see how much longer
what pissed me off is an item from Hongkong took only 8 days and Canada is the USA's neighbour and yet, it took longer ??? WTF !!!
when you'd said "they are backed up" ... do you mean item on back order ?? if not, and it's due to their backed up workload ... I would raised hell and demand an answer & a refund ASAP !!!

no backed up due to their "popularity" and high amount of orders they have. If that is the case and they making so much money and so popular with so many orders then they need to hire more ppl then!
so this company is in canada? and it takes longer for them to ship to the U.S. then we get stuff from over seas including Asia.
i dont think their company will be so "popular" and over loaded with orders from ppl in the U.S. not if there is an alternative.
and for the HTC Kaiser/tytn II/tilt there is. bodyguardz full body shield same as invisible shield and available from pocketsolutions among others.

Nah .. :p
I'm in Canada and they are in the USA ( I believed ) :p
You shouldn't have to wait long regarding the shipping if you are from the USA ... it's the late shipping out that you should look into and throw a fit demanding answers !! USA orders come with a tracking number ... it's the international shipping that can't be track (FAQ)
if emailing get no results then you should phone them directly !!

I have one question regarding the invisable shield, when applying the screen protector on the kaiser or any other touch screen devices, will this affect the sensitivity of the screen.
I also was thinking about getting the set for the kaiser, but after reading some of the comments, about not covering the full unit, it makes me think twice, i intend to get a large piece like the laptop screen protector and do my own cutting.

Okay, here is my report...
When I originally received my order I thought it was missing pieces for the sides (around the buttons & usb port. I called their support line and the young lady apologized and promised to send the missing pieces
When the replacement pieces arrived they were the sides of the screen. My second call revealed that the designers decided that the sides weren't to be covered because of the 2 horizontal grooves.
The screen protector is quite a snug fit and I hop ethat I never have to fiture out how to remove it as there really aren't "gaps" around the edges.
On the front face all that is covered is the two little bits above & below the screen. The strips along each side of the screen and tha area around the buttons are left bare.
The edges of the face are pretty well covered by three pieces. The first piece covers around the top edge and comes down the side edges to the top edge of the screen. The next two pieces mate-up where the first piece ends and comes down to the MicroSD Card slot.
The final piece covers the entire battery cover except a small bit in each corner where they notched it so it wouldn't bunch in the corners.
Application was easy but then this is the 6th InvisibleSHIELD I have installed.
The best method of installion is:
After carefully removing the material from its backing hold it sticky side up laid across your hand and spray the solvent just above the material making sure you spray enough to evenly coat the sticky side. This helps prevent you from getting too much solvent on the material.
If you have some air bubbles after you've worked out all that you can don't worry I had a few and they disappeared after a few days.
I like that material and use it on the screens of every device I own but I do wish the side edges were wide enough to roll over the edge and cover the bits along the screen.
I also was disappointed that they left the entire sides between the top slider and the battery cover bare but in retrospect when I have dropped one of my phones in the past most of the damage was on areas that are covered.
The upside of not having the sides covering is that you can fit your device into the bodit/proclip holders as well as the Noreve Case (which is a rather tight fit).
I don't feel like there is any lose of sensitivity using this screen protector although it seems sticky at frist but this wears away after about a weeks worth of use.
For me the missing sides aren't a problem as I instantly fell in love with the Noreve case when it arrived.

Alright I finally made my desision and got the bodygaurdz and nushield screen protectors.
First the BodyGaurdz: Good product. Installed fairly easy, some gaps on the coverage in the corners and two bubbles that will not go away (its been a week) probably instaliation error but otherwise Very good. One problem that I have with it is there is now a noticeable lip on the edges of the Gaurdz but it is an acceptable trade off.
Second: NuShield: First of all the screen protector that came with the Tilt sucked and the one that came with the body gaurds was worse. This Nushield is awsome, feels and looks like there is nothing there. Little bit of effort to get it in but once in, It's Great

So I am still stuck on which one I would rather get. Someone please clarify for me. From the looks of it the InvisibleSHIELD does not really cover the front (when i say front I mean the front face that is grey) except the top little piece and at the little part at the bottom of the screen but not the sides or around the navigation pad. However it looks like (from the pics provided earlier) the Body Guards does cover the entire front face? Both cover the top sides (the smooth part not the middle) and the back cover.
I really need to know! I am afraid of hurting my brand new baby =). Still using my beat 8125 until at least the screen protector arrives even though I want to use this thing right now!

Don't go with invisibleSHIELD !!!
one of my orders just came in Friday ( almost 3 weeks late ) ... and it's for the Dell's X51V.
The story's the same ... they cut corners when it comes to designs !!!
Nothing for the back side except the battery cover and the 2 sides ( barely ) ... I mean NOTHING !!!... the top half is unprotected !
as for the front ... same scenario as Kyphur's report for the Kaiser .. I got the "forehead" ... 1/2 of the "chin" ... and when it comes to the 2 sides that run along the front ... they gave me 2 thin strips that are only half size in width !!!
I don't understand it ... like I've said earlier ... either nothing or complete ... why do a half ass job ??
so right now ... my X51V's front side got 2 half size strip that looks really weird ! I'm not happy with their design ... looks like they never put any care into really measuring the specific device at all !
Never buy invisibleSHIELD again !!! ... the product and the customer service might be great ... but their final product measurement really sucks !!!
Only iPOD and iPHONE product really can benefit since those are basically all square/flat devices ( I guess that makes it easier for them to measured ) ... looks like other devices are too hard for them to take any consideration into truly measuring it out and precision cuts !

here is a site that sells protectors, which uses the material as the invisible shield, either same cost as shield zone or cheaper with free shipping and life time warranty, they also show you description of what the package contains for most protectors, although they dont have the tytn 2, but ppl can use them for future purchases.

Site seems okay. As far as telling descriptions about coverage it really depends on the product. For the ipods and such it provides descriptions and pictures of coverage but as far as phones they don't mention anything. No description, no pictures... I wish they would provide pictures for every product. MartinShields does this which I really like.

Yes I did read basically the whole thing. However I still had questions even after seeing the pictures (which I mentioned I saw) because it is a little hard to tell from them the exact coverage. Just wanted some clarification before I go buy something so I know exactly what I am getting. So I will ask it again:

Based upon all of the posts in this thread, I bought (two) $25 sticker(s) from BodyGuardz.
I am happy to say that after the 72 hour curing period, the phone looks magnificent. However, to do so, I spent 3 hours applying & re-applying to make sure that there were no bubbles...
Be warned that if you have any areas not sticking to the phone, lint will quickly stick to these areas and appear white. Use of an exacto knife or razor blade can get rid of the extra material if you're a perfectionist and don't like to be reminded of your imperfect application :D
Top, sides and bottom are covered, with the exception of the inside beveled edge. Buttons are not covered.
The only minor annoyance that I have is a hole reminding me where the front camera would be if I owned a TYTN II instead of a Tilt, and the front corners could wrap around better.
The ScreenGuardz protector feels slightly tacky but I actually like that... Go figure...
Hope this helps...

I got an Invisible Shield for my Microsoft Zune 80GB and my TMobile Shadow Phone and loved both of them, so I got one for my new ATT Tilt. However, I was a bit unimpressed with the Shield for the Tilt. On both the Zune and the Shadow it covered literally the entire thing and was incredibly precisely cut so that it shaped to the buttons and cutouts. When it was on you could hardly tell it covered so much. However, with the Tilt it isn't near as perfect. I can understand not covering the sides with the horizontal grooves being very difficult to work with, but even the one for the sides is less than what I expected. They are thinner than they should be and don't fit as well as it did for other devices. the Screen protector is 100% perfect, it fits and looks factory. The pieces that go on the front also don't look too great, as they don't cover everything you can tell that they are there and it kind of looks like a cheap sticker on it since it is just in like two small places. I can't really say that it would be easy to cover the entire thing since it has so many edges, but I expected a bit more after my last two experiences with the InvisibleSHIELD. The back piece is disappointing enough where I might just take it off. the cutouts for the GPS and the camera are actually a little too big, so it is really easy to tell that you have a film over the device and it doesn't fit the edges perfectly. I probably didn't do the application as well as possible, but with the corners and the edges I just couldn't get it to fit right.
Overall I cannot say that I regret buying the Shield, as it does protect the device. I am just a little disappointed at the precision of the cutting given my great prior experiences with them. Next time I will probably try something else, possibly the Body Guardz.

After using the BodyGuardz for the past 3 months, I've finally decided to rip it off.
It did what it was supposed to, but after 3 months, the areas that I didn't apply well were all white with dust and lint and I just got tired of looking at the unclean look of it. I blame this on myself and I could re-apply the second skin, but I've always been afraid of blunt force trauma that can't be handled by a skin, so I've decided against it.
I've also discovered that the hard cases mentioned in this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=350070) does not fit correctly over the BodyGuardz and causes it to rip/stretch on the areas where it holds onto it, marring the skin's look.
FWIW, I had no problems removing it or the supplied screen guard. The minor residue that was left was also easily removed from the device.
Hope this helps!

My complete review of it (in french, sorry for that) is avalaible here (http://forums.smartphonefrance.info/viewtopic.php?t=44266)
No problem for removing it !
I have just applied the second set yesterday on my Kaiser with success.
I'm really satisfied with it... no dust no striation.
(lot of coins or keys with my kaiser on my pocket :D )

Been searching the forum & came across this thread, seems to date back awhile but still seems to get attention now & then so figure this is the best place to ask without being flamed for not searching for the forum :P
I've just got an O2 Stellar (Aka Kaiser / Tytn II / Tilt, i think? lol)
Anyway it came with a screen protector, just a sticky thing which ive put on for the time being, looks horrible (bubbles) + the protector was "tainted" before it was even installed.
I've used InvisableShield's on my ipod touches cant say ive been overly impressed but they did the job, anyway here in the UK i cant seem to find InvisibleShields for the Stellar/Kaiser/Tyn II/Tilt (sheesh!)
NuShield looked good, but again, couldnt find in the UK :(
i would order from the US but ive been stung before on some stupid import tax where the mailman knocked on my door asking for another £20 for a game i ordered that only cost £20 in the first place
So has anyone in the UK found a good screen protector?
Those full-body ones look good, but i dont have the dexterity to install them properly, did it with my ipod touch (back/front invisibleshield) and it ended up looking like it had been attacked by some unknown force so i had to remove it & buy another invisibleshield (front only this time)
Edit:
Decided to go for a "Martin Fields Overlay Plus Screen Protector" from the mobilefun website (£14 for 2, or £8.99 each), people here seem to say there more reccomended than IS.
I've also bought a 3 in 1 USB thing, i figure this will be good in car so i can use a FM Transmitter (Since my car wont read music from the kaiser over the USB) but hopefully ill be able to charge the XDA over the USB port from the radio with abit of luck :)
