My Touch wont sync its phonebook with my cars (Ford Mondeo, latest model) built-in carkit. I have tried it with a different phone (TyTN II) which will sync its phonebook with the car!
I used Jetware Mobile, but it didnt help, still no phonebook. Tried flashing different ROMs, no luck :(
Did anyone have problems with syncing phonebooks to their carkits? And if yes, is it working now, and how did you fix it? :)
Thnx,
Biff

I have the same problem with my Passat. It is using the Sim Access Profile to connect to the phone. With my previous Nokia phone I could sync the phonebook of the phone with the car, with the HTC Touch this did not work.
My workaround: Use the SIM Manager to copy the contacts to the SIM Card. Use the registry tweak to not show the SIM Contacts in the normal contact list and have your car sync the contacts of the sim and not from the phone.
Of course, when you update your phonebook of your phone, you will manually have to copy them to your sim card as well, but at least it works...
Good Luck,
Remko

Bump.
Have been playing with it for a while now, but still no succes. I have run out of ideas and thing to try to make it work :(
I used above method (copying contacts so SIM), tried Jetware, I even tried several different ROMs but none of it all has a good result :'(
Im at a total loss here... the TyTN II still syncs without a glitch every time (and without help of any type of tool or tweak!), but my Touch comes up blank.

What kind of car kit are you using? In my Passat it uses the Sim Access Profile. I'm actually pretty annoyed as well, that I cannot sync it with my phones phonebook.
I also tried Jetware, but this doesn't help a bit. The only workaround I found up untill now, is the one I described above, but I don't like it a bit.
If anyone has the same problem and found a fix for it... PLEASE HELP!!!
Thanks, Remko

The carkit is prebuilt into the cars stereo equipement, and identifies itself as "Ford Audio". I have seen it work with the TyTN II so it definitly works, just not with the Touch :\
