HI friends I am looking for a ROM for my ORANGE SPV3100 with preinstalled theft alert system. I have lost one PDA in which I installed a theft alert software but as the thief might have hard reset the device before using it the whole protection failed. Somebody told me to have a customized ROM with theft protection software pre-installed in it. So that even in case the thief hard-reset I should be able to get the alert. I need Your help seniors & friends as that would save a lot of money & a dear PDA from getting lost in wrong hands.

PS:I am using official Orange SPV 3100 ROM of APRIL 2007. Is there an way of putting that software in to it.

Here, I'll reply.

I have no idea.

That's probably what the other 55 views were thinking, too. No point posting, "I dunno" posts really, is there?

I suspect that the reason there is no one posting is because usually that anti-theft type software isn't free, so if people were to put it into their cooked ROM's and post it online, it would be illegal.

Your best bet would be to purchase the software and cook it into your own ROM (without redistributing it). I could be wrong however, so correct me if i am :)

It is hard-reset resistive and even resistant to after_theft_new_rom_download procedure:
- you need small single paper where you write your IMEI number and police phone number and keep it secure.
-in case your PDA is stolen, take out your small peace of paper, call police number and give them IMEI from your stolen PDA.

Police together with mobile providers is usually locating SIM-card users of stolen mobiles in no more than one day after switching on.

Mentioned procedure is under GPL so you can use it and spread it anywhere and anytime.

Thanx all of You people for Your views but I have purchased a software for this & I want to put it in to my ROM. Thats what I wanna know if there is anybody who can do it for me. I believe in buying something instead of cracking it & using it illegal but on the other hand I am concerned about my hard earned money going in to hell. May I know seniors if anybody there who knows how to do this trick. I will be very thankful to You as this would increase my faith in XDA.Forum capabilities of standing with good ideas & techniques. learn to cook (it is not hard today with the pandora kitchen)
purchase or get the soft, make OEM package of it,
cook it with Pandora and you good

if you want other skilled people to do it customized for you rom you should offer a price you prepare to pay to this skilled people

do it yourself or be willing to pay for service (customized only for you) or to ask someone to make you a favor ,
you are asking for a favor

good luck

@edward-riko, Thanx for Your valuable suggestion. May I know which is the most easiest way of doing the things You have mentioned here. I mean any software that can help me putting that software in to that ROM. This is not something of my concern rather the kind of response once You will have this kind of ROM is going to be enormous. I believe there is one .NBH file which contains everything. Plz guide me as to its making & other requirements & any wrong consequences for my PDA with that self cooked ROM. Looking for Your reply.

I don't know if that will help but I remember about 1,5 year ago on the buzzdev forum (http://buzzdev.net) one guy posted a thread about a software that will read the phonenumber from the SIM in case it is changed and it will SMS it to a predefined number, revealing in that way the number of the thief. The developer required a personal request for this in order to hard code the license in the software that would be purchased. Don't remember price. (Search on the Himalaya 2005 section)
