Direct video out is impossible because lack of hardware support.

There are perfectly good reason for the designers to come out with various socket designs other than the size issue, i.e. avoid users from pluging in things that aren't compatible. E.g., I can make you a USB-to-240V-3-pin-plug converter, you just dont plug that in.

If there were to be the slightest possible chance that it will work, there would be a forest of such 'converter available'.

And, among all the above stuff I said, do a search before you (soterisk) post multiple thread across all the forum. It save you times and avoid frustration from others as well. This topic has been discussed a gazillion times, together with other topic such as, "I have a USB converter, I think I can plugin my ext-HDD/mouse/keyboard into my Wizard".

I guaran-f-n-tee that this will NOT work. You could possibly destroy your wizard though. So go ahead without reading anything about this before hand and watch your wizard burn.

There is no hardware support for one(ie. video card out support) and 2 there is no software support for vid out. You cannot make something that is not there work. Good luck.

P.S. There is built in laser beam hardware support on the wizard. Also the Petrol free transporter is working although it is a little buggy.

nope. no way.
even if there were drivers - the wizard has no usb host capabilities so this just won't work.

Actually, the HTC Advantage (Athena) supports this feature:

"HTC proprietary 16-pin combined port (USB 1.1 host/VGA and TV Out)"
(source: http://www.htc.com/product/03-product_x7501.htm)

Don't whether it is a separate port as there is another port mentioned as well:

"HTC ExtUSB™(11-pin mini-USB and audio jack in one)"
(source: as above)

I would reckon it would be less risky if you just get the cable from it and try to connect to a Wizard (still at your own risk) ...

Personally, I would also strongly doubt it (due to the technical issues as mentioned above)

Cheers!

It's ok. Some people just talk nonsense, thats why you get all sorts of silly emails forwarded to your inbox. Anyway, AFAIK, there are some phones (HTC if I remember correctly) that supports video/VGA out. Probably that's what the people are talking about.

 You know about the laser? Anyway, I'm using that laser to make my morning coffee http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYvynmK0Slo
