i may consider changing to wm6.1 but i'll read a bit more before asking if it's possible.

once you have hardspl you can flash to any wm6.1 rom you want that is meant for kaiser. I never tried any other wm6.0 rom except the stock one that came with kaiser so don't know which one to recommend. There are alot of good roms based on wm6.1 ... and each one is based on individual taste ...

How do I "upgrade" to a newer HardSPL ?

better, what should I do to revet back to a stock ROM ?

Yes, I ahve tried using the FAQ and following the steps there, but it seems that the bootloader is readonly, with HardSPL 1 stuck in there. I flash the OEM bootloader but after reset HardSPL 1 is back there.

What am I missing ?

I am having trouble with my Kaiser (it is stuck in bootloader). I already tried mtty and the commands suggested to no avail. My next try is to revert back to the default bootloader or to change it to 3.56, but as I said, it seems that HardSPL 1 is readonly / stuck in the phone.

Any ideas ?

And then there is the SPL from this post. Right now I'm quite sure that it is a more automatic routine, guiding the user through the whole process and transfering the files to the Kaiser by itself. But in answer to your question.

The HardSPL's on here cannot be overwritten as part of a normal flash:
From the OP: "6. SPL overwrite DISABLED (to bypass, use SSPL-KAIS.exe)".

So you run SSPL (or Jump if you get the white screen) to start the SPL on your device, but in with SPL overwrite enabled. The the RUU can flash a new HardSPL to your device. SoftSPL's are used to flash HardSPLs. It doesnt matter which soft (SSPL/Jump) or hard SPL (pof/jocky) you use.

HTH, if not, read that SPL questions article. I learnt most of my SPL stuff from it. :p

yeah, I already read the SPL FAQ a few times and I already unterstand the difference between Soft and Hard and the reason for this procedure.
My inital question was what the difference between "Using JumpSPL1.56-KAIS.exe/JumpSPL1.93-KAIS.exe and then KaiserCustomRUU.exe with v3.2x" and "Using kaiser-HardSPL.exe from this thread on Computer" actually is.

And to be honest, although I wondered about the "6. SPL overwrite DISABLED (to bypass, use SSPL-KAIS.exe)" line, I still don't get it. Could you try to explain once more?

I had a ROM for my HTC Tytn II which would abort with an error "Error 294- Invalid Vendor ID" and supposedly the HTC service agents couldnt solve it. I started searching the net and stumbled here. had tilt that ATT gave me SIM unlock code. L26 V9 and all apps worked great.

sold that phone and bought another ..

ran this unlocker and all went smooth..

previously working apps will not work-- wisbar just hangs after installation , even
after softset.. it always hangs thereafter..

touchpal wont activate,,

there are more..

i reflashed L26 and nothing helped..

does it make any sense that this unlocker has anything to do w/these troubles?

I had white screens, tried also the JockyW way, read the SPL faq million times, tried the what described in the faq's, used jump 1.56 and 1.93. What ever I do no way I get to flash the hardSPL.

after clicking on jumpSPL on my device, I get into bootloader with SPL 1.56 jump shown, same with SPL 1.93. disconnect the USB wait and reconnect USB, uncheck AS, then do a soft reset. Start the flashing software, sync with AS, software aks to update image 1.56 and some more numbers, ok, update image into -empty and under it kaiser HardSpl-, I still gave it a go, so clicked on next and device gets into bootloader and the shown SPL is 1.56.0000 ??? after 10 sec the screen -update in progress appears- and from there nothing else happens than 0% and after 5 min the recovery story.

AV off, reboot, and autodetect USB, reboot and more rebooting.

I'm so pissed off and tired that I started 2 find it funny.

I know I must be making a mistake............

I did not try the JockyW AT Command way......as a noob.....scared.

Any one who can help me out and o, the goal is (super)CID, hyperdragon latest rom and SPL 3.56.

btw I have not seen a thread that a another Dutch vodafone branded kaiser has succesfully flashed

I downloaded somewhere this file kaiser_JumpSPL_pof_v1.zip. It's a mystery what to do with it, might this file be my solvation, anyone ?

P.S. Remember you DO NOT FLASH HARDSPL AGAIN when changing ROM's. Lot of people make the mistake of constantly trying to flash HardSPL and complain when it doesn't work. Also make sure you do a HARD RESET after you flash ANY ROM..........

I am a new ATT Tilt user. I have successfully unlocked my CID by installing the Kaiser Hard-SPL v1. Thanks to the developers and all the great info on this thread. The install went perfectly.

Now, I am ready to explore the Tilt's possibilities and start experimenting with various ROMs but have a few questions first.

1. Is this CID unlock a permanent unlock? I have read that no other HardSPLs are necessary to flash before installing ROMs, however, while researching other ROMs I notice that they recommend certain HardSPL versions (ex. 3.29). If I load the recommended version of HardSPL, will the CID still be unlocked?

2. I am currently running WM6.0. Can I flash ROMs that state WM6.1? Is WM6.x installed within the ROM being flashed? Or do I need to stick with WM6.0 ROMs?

The screen on the TyTyn 2 just hangs white and doesn't show the three colour screen as described, i have entered the manufacturers network unlock code so i can use any sim, is this the problem???

I have many ROM's to try but they all show an error after 1% due to incorrect id etc. Please help me as i'm well confused.

Wow. I've just spent the last 70 minutes trying to get this thing flashed. I FINALLY got it.

when you changed the model id to 4 char. does that change the filename the rom should be changed to when doing a flash from the micro sd card??

I ran the HardSPL as instructed, went to the tri-color screen and see SPL-1.0 OliPof

I checked the radio version and see R 1.27.14.09

All good...

I ran the KaiserCustomRUU.exe and it proceeded up to 100%. Then it said congratulations the update was successful.

Ok, I guess we are ready for running the SIM unlocking part... OR NOT

When I turn on the phone the AT&T Splash screen starts goes through it's motions then the screen goes black and doesn't go any further. :-( I tryed doing a soft reset, popping the battery, removing and replacing the SIM. Nothing... :-(

Search For "Kaiser SIM Unlock" this is CID unlocking, for allowing cooked ROMs on your phone.

Tried using this so that I can sim unlock my T Mobile branded Tytn II.

I connect to USB as described and run the program. I get a warning message on the phone screen telling me that I am doing this at my own risk. Click OK then the screen just goes completely white and doesnt go any further. Any advice please?

:confused:I am a new ATT Tilt user. I have successfully unlocked my CID by installing the Kaiser Hard-SPL v1. Thanks to the developers and all the great info on this thread. The install went perfectly.

Now, I am ready to explore the Tilt's possibilities and start experimenting with various ROMs but have a few questions first.

1. Is this CID unlock a permanent unlock? I have read that no other HardSPLs are necessary to flash before installing ROMs, however, while researching other ROMs I notice that they recommend certain HardSPL versions (ex. 3.29). If I load the recommended version of HardSPL, will the CID still be unlocked?

2. I am currently running WM6.0. Can I flash ROMs that state WM6.1? Is WM6.x installed within the ROM being flashed? Or do I need to stick with WM6.0 ROMs?

For flashing ROMs any HardSPL is OK. But you get better results running them with v1 for WM6 roms and v3.* for WMM6.1 ROMs.

Its not Bootlogger but Bootloader. Thats first.
Second - try to post some more info about that. What bootlader show to you. What system on your pc you are using. Do you follow the steps right.

The only thing that normally limits radio usage is the Version of Windows Mobile you are running. A WM6.0 ROM must have a RM6.0 radio and the same for WM6.1.
The Carrier and Country listed next to the radio is where it was ripped from, not where it can be used. :)

Sort of. You can change your radio to WM6.0 one now if you want. So long as you have done Hard SPL first.

Try ROMeOS by Hang.tuah. He recommends a Radio and hard SPL version in his first few posts.

ROMeOS is 6.1. Is there any reason you don't want 6.1? If you want WM6.0 you'll have to look back through the Forum.

I'd suggest 1.65.24.36 Radio with the latest ROMeOS and Hard SPL 3.29 if you just want a nice clean fast ROM.

Im on opera mini, so no links... :D

This HardSpl is best used with wm6 roms, you look to be using a wm6.1 rom, and im guessing that you'll be flashing wm6.1 roms.

In this case click on the getting started link in my sig, and look for the 3.* hard spls and follow those instructions.

also, please search in future, this is a very common problem.

I did have the wake up tweak on one of my Tilts but when it was exchanged I lost the tweak. I just upgraded to WM 6.1 and I now have the problem of the backlight not staying on when plugged in. (What a pain!) I have made all the adjustments to make this happen and it sometimes works for a few hours then goes away. I have reloaded the Kaiser Tweak but none of the teaks seem to be working. As I was looking for a fix for that I noticed the post about the "radio". I would like to be able to have my phone work better in more places since I travel in out laying areas. Would a radio fix allow my phone to work better in out laying areas or am I misunderstanding the posts? Thank you for your time.

The backlight problem has been discussed many places, but it is not something I have noticed, never mind bothered me.

The Radio is what the device uses for communicating with the Cell networks (amongst other things). Changing your Radio could improve reception, call quality, battery life, etc.

Flashing a new one takes minutes and if things get worse, just re-flash to the orginal one. I keep a selection of radios on my SD card, so I can flash whenever.

Hello, I own a Kais130, HTC, TyTnII with R:1.27 15 32 , G: 22 51 88 13, D 1 82 00 00.
I have already tried KAIS_Radio_Only_1.27 15 32, Kaiser hard spl 3.56, your KaiserUnlocker. I have used three different PCs, with clean Vista and XP, with the PDA just hardresseted and clean, with and without sim.
The farthest I managed to go was to see the bar in the PC and the PDA, it always remains in 0% and ends up with update error [262] communication error.
Would you please point me to a solution? I need to unlock the CID so I can flash a Spanish Language ROM.
I am willing to donate if I can get the solution.

No,
If you are in this screen, you should be flashing Hard SPL only.

Go into the bootloaded using this method: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/Kaiser_Resets and see if it say's OliPof next to SPL. If so your OK to flash, if not then you need to try again.

Hi, I just upgraded the ROM on my AT&T Tilt to WM 6.1.
I backed-up my files, but unfortunately, I forgot to back-up the calendar entries. After the upgrade, I found out all my appointments were gone.

Is it still possible to recover those calendar entries??
How about if I revert back to the original ROM, is it possible?

I DON'T think so there is currently a supercid unlocker for the touch hd but this isn't exactly the place to post this request. Go to the forum for touch hd and post your request over there if it hasn't been already done (which i am pretty sure it has been).

if you want touch flo 2d than just do a search for the cab and install cab like you would any program on your tilt. The cab is available here at xda ... I would attach the cab but it is 11megs; way over allowed limit. search for md2d

Tried to install HARD SPL, but did not get the tricolour screen. The hanndset screen becomes white and the active synch icon on pc is greyed out.

I can't see any furtther instructions on pc as well.

No, you need USB to do it. :) You can upgrade from one HardSPL to another using the SD Card, but the first flash needs USB.

But there is a new method in the works, have to wait and see.

I can't upgrade my rom, I just update it from WM6.0 to WM6.1 by the original rom from HTC site, any other rom stopped at 1% and the device restart, I have tried too many unlocker last one was V3 but it didn't success, my device configurations as below.

I don't think you have HardSPL. Check the sticky guide by mskip for a full set of instructions on how to flash Hard SPL (and how to resolve the white screen issue).

Okay I ran this hardspl. and I think it worked because I went through all the steps in your instructions. Is this hardspl current because I found a different hardspl in the xda forums, and there was more instructions and things to do to get it installed? And my other question is, is there a way to check on the phone to see if the hardspl is really in fact installed? I just wanna make sure before I install a cooked rom on it. Anyone know?

Hi all,

I've tried unlocking several times and once i got to the tri colour screen and reinserted the USB cable it always came up device not recognised.

So i tried changing the USB setting on the device. Now the software does see the phone at all. I've tried changing it back. Still no good. I still get the green light for active sync.

When using All HTC it now gives me a connection error.

HTC:Kaiser Orange

This is the error message i get when using HTC Kaiser Hard-SPL v1
Error: CreateProcess failed with Errorcode = -2146893818 - Invalid Signature

Machine: Windows XP SP3
Device: Windows Mobile 6.1

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried flashing my SPL but I get no tri color screen only a white one. Tried going forward but it says connection error after a few stepps. Can it be because I have a operator locked phone?

I seem to have a fairly fatal problem with this, in as much as I can't get it to progress even to the tri-colour screen. I run the program and it asks me to check the check the connection and press enter, then the second prompt asks to check the device which I do and press continue on my HTC touch, but then it completely crashes and has to have the reset button pressed to power back on? I have searched for another instance of this event but I cannot seem to find one.

Any ideas anyone?

This only allows you to flash ROM's. Look for the SIM unlocking threads in the Forum sticky, there are a few ways to do it.

i am so stuck- i wanted to unlock my htc kaiser tytn 2 so that i can use any sim from any provider.
i dont know where i messed up but now i am stuck on the tri color screen and it says

i see USB when connect to the pc and serial once i take the usb off
also in one corner it says RUUNBH
now ur program is not letting me flash- goes into recovery mode again and again- i already tried it 3 or more times and nothing..... took battery out and i am back on that screen.
please help... i dont know how to get out of the tri color mode and how to flash the rom.... i just want to unlock to use any sim :~(

many thanks to all you guys working in this area and developing stuff for all of us. I have a small problem with my TYTN II

I bought a MDA VARIo III with a t-mobile Branding in germany.
Now i try to unlock the SIM / NETLOCK and then flash a newer ROM on it.
I do NOT HAVE A WORKING SIM CARD from t-mobile. Only a E-Plus SIM Card.
Right now there is no SIM Card in my tytn II at all inserted. I use a netbook with windows XP and connect with active sync 4.5 via USB and the original cable shipped with the VARIO III

Yesterday i downloaded a unlocking tool from XDA devs and after proceeding my TRI COlor sais:

KAIS130
SPL-3.29.Hard
CPLD-8

I just want to unlock the SIM / NETLOCK on this device so first i need the SPL-1.0 OliProf right?

I tryed this tool and connected the device via usb but instead the tri color it shows only a white screen?!?

After waiting a while the green connection icon changes to gray but nothing happens.

Can someone help me to unlock the SIM lock on thies device or give me a hint??

This will NOT work on your xperia. It is for the Kaiser. do a search for the one for you phone or you could end up with a brick. Here let me help you out

I have a HTC 8925 which has never been modded. When I turn it on I get the boot loader screen with the RUUNBH in the top right corner of the screen. Based on the post "Kaiser_Stuck_at_boot loader", I need to re-flash my ROM back to the original rom. I tried to re-flash it with

RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_3.57.502.2_radio_sign_25.8 8.40.05_1.65.21.18_Ship.exe

When I run the exe, I get an RUU error 260. So I tried to follow the instruction to flash via SD card. In order to flash via SD card it says I must have a HARD SPL. In order to flash the HTC Kaiser Hard-SPL v1 the active sync icon should be green. Unfortunately my computer does not recognize my device. I have tried read all the post and seem to always come to a dead end because my computer does not recognize my device.

Any help would be appreciated.

You need to use MTTY to perform "set 16 0". Re-read the guide for all the steps ;).

Yes. It goes from serial to USB when I plug it into my computer. I get a message from my computer that it does not recognize it. I have also tried running "mtty_0513_Test" on a computer with vista and it did not work. I also tried reinstalling active sync and still did not recognize it.

Again, this phone has never been flashed. Most of the post are regarding folks trying to flash there phones and getting the boot loader screen.

Doesn't matter, on the order, but you should upgrade to Hard SPL 3.* and a 6.1 ROM at the same time. If you don't your phone may freeze for a few seconds at Random now and again.

i'm pretty new to this. it doesn't seem to difficult as long as you follow the instructions. i do have a question though (and probably more to come with time): when it says to "flash" kaiser-hardspl, what exactly does "flash" mean? does it mean to install it via the computer? or save it to the phone (device or storage card) and run it on the phone itself? also, i was trying to run Kaiser Unlocker last night, got to step 3, but when the screen popped up on the phone to change the settings for the SIM & CID unlock, the screen just closed immediately. did it 3 times in a row. is there a step that i am missing or something i'm maybe doing wrong? please help. i love my Tilt, but i can see that it has so much more potential if i can just get it unlocked. i've been working with Kaiser tweak, HTC Home Plugin, video players, etc, but i know i can do much more if i can clear up some space on the device. thanks in advance for any help that you can provide me. please feel free to email me any ideas or tips at clsifford@att.net. It does work you hafta follow the directions.. I just did it. I bought a new (to me) fone off ebay (my old one died) and it would white screen everytime I tried to flash it.
