AT&T Tilt gps always on?

Is the built in gps receiver on the TytnII/Tilt always turned on? Can it be turned off? Wasn't sure if it would be a drain on the battery being on all the time.

No, it turns on only when an application accesses the com port. You can make sure by looking at the right LED the one that blinks blue to indicate BT activity.
When the GPS is on it will blink orange -- blue -- orange -- blue

and when wifi, BT, GPS is on

blue -- orange -- green --blue -- orange -- green
