HI all!
How can I hide the sim contacts? Which is the registry key to modify?
I've tried TweakUI (modified for Trinity) and all tweak works, except "Show/Hide SIM contacts".
Greetings

Using htc sim manager, you can:
A) Move all sim contacts into an outlook contact(put pictures, etc) vice versa
B) Delete all sim contacts/outlook contacts
No reason you need to have both :)

I've all my contacts on device, but I want to leave saved the contacts also on my SIM card. The method to hide them, there is.

Registry: HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone
Key: ShowSim (dWord)
Set it to 0
But it'll go back to 1 if you Reset the device.
I installed PocketCM, since it doesn't show SIM i don't have to hide it anymore. Looks nicer too.

Just moved over from Symbian UIQ 3 (m600i). I have no idea what CABS are and how to install the file you attached.
I also want to rid myself of seeing duplicated names as I want to see phone contacts but also retain SIM contacts. I go diving and change mobiles and still need the names & numbers.

copy the CAB to your phone and browse to it via the File Browser.. then execute.

@f1ip: I don't have Pocket CM, but KaiserTweak is an easy way to hide SIM contacts (and it's only 377 kB + 47 kB for the .xml file, so it's not a memory hog)
@Corrupted Sanity: I too switch phones sometimes - don't want to take the expensive PDA to some environments.
@Everybody: I find that even though I have "Hide SIM Contacts" enabled, Voice Command still looks at them when I ask to dial a contact, and says "Showing 2 Found" and then asks which one you want to dial - a - anyone else have this experience?
Would like to have Voice Command ignore SIM contacts - the "Showing 2 Found" thing is so annoying that I ended up deleting all my SIM contacts, then I have to copy them back to the SIM if I want to transfer the SIM to another phone.

Found a solution and a great tool it would seem:
Schaps Advanced configuration tool (works w/wm6.1.) It has the SIM option and many more cool options.

Use PIM backup (its great lets you backup whatever you whant; call log, speed dial, numbers ect. ect.) then open contacts, select all and use the upper delete. You should get warning about deleting from sim. Accept and voila its not showing as double only contacts + you have youre sim backup just in case.

(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=466310) i have adapted this into a .cab with icon link.

What advantage is it over KaiserSimFix which has done it for years and is smaller?
Please,
How can i uninstall KaiserSimFix to recover Sim contacts shown?Uninstall KaiserSimFix from the usual place where you uninstall software from
If you're on a OEM (HTC/AT&T rom), soft-reset and they'll come back. If you're on a cooked rom, use a tweaker software such as FuzeTweak or Schap's Advanced Config to turn it back on.
You could also massage the registry entry manually as listed earlier in this thread.

Yes the bulk is the .dll, the .exe is 6KB the .dll is 50KB, it's just handy as like you just explained how to get back SIM contacts is a bit of a rigmarol, where as this you just clink the link :)

Hi All,
I wonder whether, for those of us who happen to have Mortscript installed, a sinple file with one line only like:
RegWriteDword ("HKCU","ControlPanel","ShowSIM",0)
After saved as e.g. HideSIM.mscr, and placed, either directly or through a link, in \Windows\StartUp, would suffice to have the job done or not.
Just my 2 cents...
Cheers!

In case you've read my suggestion, on the post immediately above yours, you could copy a link to that same mortscript file to "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs". Then, whenever you notice that your SIM contacts are being shown, just run it like any other application, without the need to soft-reset your device.
Just other 2 cents from me...
Cheers!

Create a link into \Windows\Start Menu\Programs for easier access from your Programs menu.

Most AT&T oem roms flip sim contacts back on, on soft-reset, so these tools flip it back off again.
Neither KaiserTweak, Advanced Configuration, nor any other simple registry tweaker survive soft-reset reset.

I have been using Kaiser SIM Fix for a while now, and suddenly after a hard reset, and reinstall it no longer works. It wont hide the sim contacts, and if I am able to hide them they will show back up after a soft reset.

I have tried a few programs as well (KaiserTweak, Advanced Configuration, CABs, REGs, manual registry modifications). In my case SIM contacts did not even bother to disappear before soft reset, not to mention after soft reset. Nothing works at all.
I have a original polish Orange ROM. If anyone knows any other solutions please help.

That's exactly how it is in my case :( The only way I think to go is to change ROM or delete all SIM contacts :)

I have show/hide contacts mapped via mortscript to a button function script that changes function pending on active window & other parameters. Basically when I'm viewing contacts one press simpy displays or hides sim data, I find this a great solution as I store a lot of fast call numbers for provider services ect & can access & hide them as I want.
Not a solution to the original point of this thread but maybe a useful option for some !

This DOES work:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Phone]
"ShowSIM"=dword:00000001 ->0 to disable, 1 to enable.
I bought a HTC Tilt 2.
I tried this setting. SIM contacts got disabled. But all sim contacts duplicates are visible now.
currently i have this setting ShowSIM"=dword:00000000.
So whats the reason?

If you use the Tf3D HTC contacts tab, All People. Theres an option to view ALL, Contacts, or SIM. So no need to even do the registry.
