I want the HTC Home Screen (with the big clock and shortcuts) on my Tilt. Where can I find it? How do I install it? Will it mess with the AT&T ROM?
Thanks.

Thank you very very much!
I've never done this, how do I install?
Move the .cab to your phone - use File Manager on your phone to browse to where you put the file - run the file by clicking on it

I installed the cab, but I dont see anything different...do I need to change any setting after installing? Will this give me the weather on the Today screen?

I did that, and have the HTC plugin checked...just wondering what im supposed to be seeing...anybody have a screenshot?
What about the weather...How do I get that?
Yeah here it is,
Ignore the watermark, couldnt find a handy/free screenshot
anyway for weather, if you want your own city its another story.
There is one good tutorial for that on the forums, just have to look
*edit whoops images didnt go through, let me crop them

I want to try this on my new AT&T Tilt. But can it be uninstalled? In case I change my mind? In the past, I downloaded one of the HTC Home Plug-in CABs from this site, and I had to hard-reset to get rid of it...

I downloaded the HTC Home cab listed in this string and it appears to work just fine. I need to tweak it (i.e. - add more cities to the weather file as well as add the programs on the program screen), but what I really miss is the Conatcts screen ... the one where you have 9 pictures that are one touch dialing in that tab. Does a .cab exit for HTC Home with the four tabs instead of the three?
I ran the 6 button on and 8125 and HATED the fact that it arbitrarily changed my phone to vibrate mode. But I'd really enjoy the contacts tab.
Thanks!

I also downloaded the .cab listed in this string for the battery bar in the header (for lack of better term). I placed it on the phone and ran it, then the phone rebooted ... nothing. I executed the .cab a second time, was told the previous version would be uninstalled, it installed and rebooted again ... nothing.
I picked the QVGA version of the bars, not solid. I may try solid next but I can't imagine that would correct any issues. Just wanted to post that it didn't work for me.
Well the battery bar is already "barred", you wont see a difference since its the same. As for the contacts, HTC HOME has it. and if you want to get rid of tabs, go to today-> htc home -> diselect which ones you dont want(and can rearrange the order aswell)

that's not what I experience. No battery shows up, instead I think I have the clock ... which is set to NOT show up in the title bar. Also, I don't see any additional tabs in the HTC home screen when I look in today. Options is not an option I can get into, so I'm either missing something or the additional tabs and settings are not available.

Hey guys I'm brand new to this phone modding thing, and I have an extremely basic question. How do I put cab files on my phone?
This is what I'm doing, and on my laptop it shows that the cab is "on my phone" but I cant find it on my tilt.
-download cab
- drag and drop into one of the folders (when activesync is running)
- go to folder on tilt
Am I not supposed to use activesync?
Thanks!

A registry setting isn't required. You just go in to the app as if you were changing cities, and select Menu while there. You can change the C to F right there in the app itself.

I know this is probably a dumb question but does the Cab have to be in main memory? I downloaded it to the sdhc card and cannot seem to get it to work?

Have been trying to get my local city to come up on the weather. When in the select city I type it in but it defaults to the drop down list. Anyway to override the drop down list?
Thanks

Just place the cab into your phone/memory card. Once it is there go into the file explorer found in programs, go to the cab and click on it. It will start the install.

Aha! I wasn't using file explorer, I was simply going into the folder and trying to find it. Thanks!!!

If you are browsing your Tilt from Active Sync, I believe he meant the \My Documents folder. I unzipped contents to a temporary folder then copied them over to the My Documents folder on the device and The HTC Default option now shows up under Settings/Appearance. I now have the dark grey color pattern that is seen in the screen shots.

When I ussed the HTC ROM, Denver was listed as one of the cities. I went back to the ATT ROM and installed the plugin from this thread, but Denver is no longer listed. The home weather plug-in shows version 1.0.

Hi
I'm living in England and i bought the Kaiser on the Orange network yesterday. As with the American AT&T veriosn, the HTC home screen has been replaced with Orange's own, rather dull home screen and i was wondering if this home screen .cab you have posted will work with my Kaiser, or is it only for the AT&T model? I want the HTC home screen but i don't want to break my phone!
Cheers.

Could someone tell me how to change a button in the Launcher tab to point to a different program? Does this require a registry edit?

I've got the same phone from Orange .. search for these files in these forums:
HTC_Touch_Home_Plugin - This is the one that give you the 3 tabs (main, weather and quick launch) it's the grey display with the large digital clock. Here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=53281&d=1191650025
PocketCM-0.15 - Free download - great contact manager with a nice 'scroll' and rotating notes screen.
whitebat_bars_qvga - for the battery bars at the top
Windows Live 10.6.32.2100 - Orange have removed MSN and WL from the TyTN2
WirelessTodayPlugin - This is the little bit that shows wifi on/off bluetooth on/off
htc_grey - you need to replace the background - others are available or you can create your own.
TouchPalSip - Exellent alternative to the on screen keyboard - makes texting a breeze - free until December 2007 !!
How to get them to work ...
Load all the '.cabs' onto a memory card or sync them into a my docs folder and launch them individually.
The 'htc_grey' will be an image that needs dropping into the Windows directory.
Once everything has installed do a soft-reset (probe the hole under the unit with the stylus)
Go to Settings-Personal-Today-Items.
Select only 'HTC Home', 'Wireless' (I also add 'Device lock' but it's up to you).
Select Appearance-Orange and Browse for the picture of htc_grey (If you can't find it, check the files type as BMP's are normally picked up easier).
Press OK and return the the main screen - SORTED :)
The 5x2 grid on the launcher is user selectable. Tap a square, select an application and OK. if you want to deselect a choice use the 10th cell which will place 'x' on the applications - select which one you wish to delete.
I've only had mine a week but it's amazing - TomTom 6 locks onto the GPS even indoors :D
I've not ventured into playing with the ROM so I'm contented with the plugins to give me the desired effect.
here's a selection of different styles/themes -
Here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=336013&highlight=htc+today+theme)
Things I still need to do/find out ..
How to change the Dial pad colour from Orange  to match the grey scheme.
Some way of having larger contact pictures when receiving/making a call.
Change the top and bottom status bars to black so that I can use the htc_black background.
There is SPB that will add themes but I've read it drags down the battery - also, that the spinning cube is just a novelty gizmo, so I'm not bothered about those either.
I hope this was useful.
Have fun,
Alan

I removed the HTC Home plug-in. How do I get to clock to show up at the top of the screen? I checked the selection to show on all screens. It shows on all screens but the Home screen.
The battery indicator only shows on the home screen where the clock usually is. All other pages show no clock.
This is on WM6.1. My phone died and the replacement was 6.1. I had 6.0. Sprite was no help in restoring.
I did all this once!!!
Any clues?
