CustomRUU for Kaiser

By popular demand I've created HTC Kaiser CustomRUU, it is basically the same as the HTC RUU, but packed in one single exe file and slightly patched to perform a 'task 32' instead of a 'task 28' after flashing an NBH, so it will not format your device if you just flash a radio or a Splash screen.

Note: This CustomRUU will not allow you to flash unsigned files unless you have HardSPL (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334679) installed, it will not push SSPL.

Instructions as always: Drop the NBH file of your choice in the same folder as CustomRUU and start flashing :)

Recommended tools for handling NBH files:

In the original situation with original ROM, when you update the RadioROM the device will format? Strange!

Sorry for the noob question, but what does this customRUU do? I've already hardSPL'ed my tilt and load the kaiser ROM.

Re-read the first post. It's there. If you don't understand it, you probably won't be using it so I wouldn't worry about it.

Why do I get and invalid pocket pc application when trying to run the kaiserCustomRUU.exe on my kaiser ?
Edit my-stupid-self : it runs from the PC :P

I am using Duttys 6.1 beta rom and I have flashed my device using KAIS_Radio_Only_1.64.08.21_CustomRUU and now the device just sits there at the HTC screen. Of course in this state I can't flash the old radio back as it isn't getting into the main part of the OS to sync. I have tried hard resetting and that takes me to the set up pages but then it takes me back to the HTC locked page again.

Is there anyway to get it back?

I am a bit worried that I have bricked it. :eek:

yeah guy above me im new here todays my 3rd day but ive picked up a few tips and tricks while STILL trying to unlock my phone "can somebody please help me"
anyway try holding the camera button while soft reseting your phone the tri color screen should pop up the try installing the same rom or different one or you can just Hard spl o something like that PLZ someone correct me if im wrong i did say im new but just tryin to help

Tried using any RUU and having a problem whereby it gives the error "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000007b)"

I am trying to just flash my Radio. I have downloaded KAIS_Radio_Only_1.65.17.56_CustomRUU and when I try and upgrade my radio it says do you want to update your ROM from 3.14.405.0 to 1.0.0.0. Should I just OK this so it will continue to the Radio Update? I do not want to change my ROM

Yes you should, all radios say that. It does not change your rom version.

I ONLY use vista and never had problems with this or any other RUU <_< you ppl need to stop thinking vista is so incompatible with stuff

You need an image in the rom package with the RUU. It is just the delivery system, you need something to deliver.

I already have an image file, Kaiser-HardSPL-3.56.nbh , in the folder i downloaded from Kaiser-HardSPL-3.56.zip (since my, (relatively) new tilt came with spl 3.56).
I also tried copying the ROM image file ,RUU_Signed_0409.nbh, in the hardspl folder. but no use. I have windows xp.

You cannot update your Spl and the rom at the same time .

You must flash Hard spl using Jumpspl first. Once ou have a Hardspl flashed to your phone, then you can put a rom image in an empty folder with CustomRuu and the run it.

Please read and follow all these steps.

I followed all of the steps again from scratch,
ran jumpspl -tri color screen with "USB" at the bottom-unplug for 30 sec-replug-uncheck "allow USB connections"----

NOW when I try to do step 11, Run the KaiserCustomRUU.exe file on your PC thats in the same folder as the HardSPL .nbh file and follow instructions (ticking boxes and clicking Next), its a 364 kb file with 258 kb .nbh file----
there is no nice point and click interface. There is ony a terminal window that pops up and vanishes.

So I would like to know only one thing,,,,

I know that this is an excrutiatingly simple procedure given all the step by step guides, but i am stuck at something stupidly straightforward. Is it that i dont have the drivers/dependencies (e.g. some VB version, .net framework etc) to run that .exe file on my PC.

So the CustomRuu exe and the unzipped Hardspl nbh are only things in that folder ? You have already launched jumpspl from your device ?

Yes and yes. It also shows 'USB' on the device.
Now I am going to do a regular format of my PC anyway. so I will try again after that.
did virus check . nothing. But it is highly likely that USB drivers are messed up. But why should that matter, when launching an exe application?? Does that exe need some stuff, like dependencies as in linux, to run properly? or just MS DOS? but then again, i tried on 2 xp (equally screwed) and 1 vista (brand new installation). I also tried hardspl v1 but had white screen problem.

Can you please check if the exe application runs properly even before connecting phone to PC. before doing any jumpspl stuff? So i can know if the problem is in USB part or just the OS (command prompt part).

torublesome to hear but ive tried this and all the others and i always get the dreadful common error 262 but yet it has no solution. ill just live with crappy wm6.1 i guess
