Installation

How to install a cooked ROM.

Upgrade your SPL (just for first time).
Put device in bootloader mode.
Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and good luck.


FAQs

- How to Upgrade SPL ? Tutorial (http://trinityguides.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=39&Itemid=66)
- How to put the device in bootloader mode ? Press Power+Camera buttons then softreset
- How to softreset ? Nokia 8310 is the phone for you.

Common Errors

- If you have installed a cooked ROM without upgrade your SPL (trough SSPL, running ROMUpdateUtility from your original WM5) and you try to do again the same thing from an unsigned ROM, your device will not boot, that's because SSPL have troubles to install unsigned ROM over unsigned ROM, so if you are in this situation you have to put your device in bootloader mode than flash back your original signed WM5 and repeat installation procedure.

- Do not try to restore your backups from a previous ROM. It will mess up the OS.

- Do not PM me, how to activate map code using TomTom included in ROM. Your request will be ignored.

- Do not PM me, if you have troubles during installation. Your request will be ignored.

Hello I cannot sync with the computer.I get a error if I disable the option for USP - PC advance settings since it freeze up the trinity. If I disable this settings then I get a connection error stating that the port 57xxx is not working. Any suggestions?

now, with the new one, when i "active sync" (BT or USB) the HTC freeze.

if i disable usb for active sync and turn off BT i connect to pc.

Just to underline that error 608 appear during comunication between PC and PPC is only with 3.0; using the same XP configuration and lasagna 2.2.2 everything is OK. I believe something is changed on the new lsagana from point of view of communication process.

Only one question for now... I can't see HDSPA switch anymore but I've seen it's on your feature list. I currently use it because there's something wrong with vodafone italy and HDSPA and if it is enabled I'll miss phone calls/SMS.

I would just state that your RUU does not work with Vista. I am using the latest Ruu_3.13.3.2 and that works for vista. Since you are making all the changes now to make it work with Vista I would suggest you get this one included.
One more thing. you may want an option to have the Network wizard to be run after the reboot since it will not work.
Never mind about the network wizard. I talked to soon. It did come back and asked.

Nope... it just freeze the PDA... I will try with the advance setting off now and see.. and the answer is still nope it's not working.

Ho XP in ufficio (dove sono ora) e Vista a casa. Adesso riflasho tutto e quando torno a casa ti faccio sapere com'è andata con la sincronizzazione.

I do not think there is a problem with XP to sync just vista.

manual boot to boot loader use the first and the camera button at the same time and use the pen to reset and hold those button down it will go to boot then u can flash it to another rom I reinstalled UDK 6 works fine just lot of battery usage....

update on battery status..
after restart it got back to normal.

when i'm going to flash with lasagna 3 the same error appears (1% and comunication error).

After that i've restart my pda and hard reset come.

I do not think your got a brick. I think you need to install the driver for vista since it does not see your phone in the usb mode. If you have an XP machine do it from there it will work. Otherwise you need to follow the instruction on how to install the driver for vista. Good Luck.

I have only a problem, with your rom, the same that I had with your old roms too.

I use "profiles", to manage radio, wi-fi, bluetooth and audio.
When I force "set off wi-fi" with this utility and then "set on" in another profile, the wifi's module don't works and I must reboot the PDA, otherwise I can't connect my device to my wireless network.
This issue always happens when "profiles" force the state of wifi's module.

Do you have a specific version of "profiles" that work correctly?

Praticamente, carissimo Guybrush, intanto complimentissimi per la tua Rom, ormai sono un affezionato sostenitore della stessa!
Ho un unico problema, ahimè, per questioni di comodità sul lavoro, sono costretto ad utilizzare "profiles" questo programma per gestire i vari moduli del pda, audio, vibrazione e menate varie.
Uso profiles perchè mi sembra il più completo, ed ha sempre funzionato con le altre versioni provate di wm6.
Purtroppo con Lasagna ho questo problema, che vado a spiegarti:
alla sera imposto un orario in cui il cell va in modalità aereo per intenderci, quindi spegne tutti i moduli (radio, wifi, bluetooth) e al mattino, al mio risveglio li riattiva. Per il wifi questo però non accade, non c'è verso di farlo attivare, nemmeno se poi provo a mano da connection manager.
Devo forzatamente riavviarlo, e magicamente lo trovo già acceso al termine del riavvio...
Potrebbe essere la versione di profiles non compatibile con lasagna? O che altro?

That's weird..I have a 4gb on my PPC (KE 3.0) and it performs in line with the previous rom. Try to format it with a Nokia Phone (beleave me it works!)

hi guybrush, I've a problems with mtty because at the command task 2A it tell me "bad block". if it's normal then i can try your rom immediatly, but if it's strange you must say me.

Guy you are right about vista, but the strange thing is this:
If you upgrade from a lasagna version to another one vithout hspl or des you have connunication error and you must reinstall wm5 for the upgrade.
In another forum j read that this doesn' t happen with udk rom.
Maybe is there some problems in lasagna?.

I can't try Vista because I don't have it... I did a compare with udK ROM and there's nothing that could explain that... we use same files for OS and registry have no significatives changes.... so it's a mystery =)

because u not followed Istruction I wrote about 1000 times. Now put device in bootloader mode, install your original ROM WM5, after change SPL (Hard SPL or Des Crashproof) than install WM6 ROM from bootloader. To enter bootloader mode press camera + power togheter then reset.

Found another bug: sender ID in incoming Email is not fully visible.
Once i open a mail i can't see the Image of sender, it's crappy visible on the top right of the screen.

before that i installed SPL 1.20

now i'd like to upgrade the Radio Rom... it doesn't work i'm in boot loader but no progress bar is showing.

i think something went wrong in SPL1.20 installation

I have installed the new rom and I loaded MS Live Search, TomTom, as well as few other programs. I have installed the HHC to change the icons for the HTC home, the Advance Configuration to change a few things there and everything is working fine. (just a little slow during the sync with the PC vista machine) but the ram stays up, with MS push mail, and a POP3 mail server pulling it down. the AL for the alarm. Thank you and keep up the wonderful job!
Let's see how it's going to do after tonight and see tomorrow.

Hello boys, I have a problem with mine p3600.
I do not know what happens: I have made a format with mtty and to the commando task 2A it says to me "bad block". however it makes to finish the format operation and all it seems to be resolved. I don't know if it is normal that they give me the this error or this description... someone can confirm to me that is normal or mine p3600 has some block? I have made this format why every time that I start the functionality telephone on the device, it is start also in automatic activesync! I have tried elgance and the lasagna, but null to make... when I start my palmare with the activated telephone, I find, in all the rom, activesync in the taskmanager that it turns to me consuming approximately 4% of the resources. the format operation with mtty, that I thought resolved the problem, has instead said "bad block" that I do not know what is! someone that understand well the p3600 can help me please?

ho provato la elgance e la lasagna, ma nulla da fare...quando accendo il palmare con il telefono attivato, trovo, in tutte le rom, activesync nel taskmanager che mi gira consumandomi circa il 4% delle risorse.
la formattazione con mtty, che pensavo risolvesse il problema, ha invece detto "bad block" che non so cosa sia!
qualcuno che ne sa può consigliarmi?

Found another bug: sender ID in incoming Email is not fully visible.
Once i open a mail i can't see the Image of sender, it's crappy visible on the top right of the screen.

Does anyone notice this issue? With all my previous roms i didn't have the problem. But now, when i receive an email from a contact with a photo ID, i can't see the imge of sender.
Am I the only one?

I tried to download the file several times, but I the problem is still here...

I didn't tried it, but if wifi works for first time and doesn't start at second time mean it's a software releated problem not a rom problem, so I suggest you to contact support of that program.

The problem may also be that from what we read about specific software (This shareware application runs on Windows Mobile 2003 SE Phone Edition and Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition devices equipped only) is not shown compatibility with WM6

In effect your version of MIDlet Manager can be installed in miniSD, but the java application not works (for example Opera Mini 4 beta or Gmail).
If I install the MIDlet Manager in main memory, all works fine.
