so it should be on the ext rom

does someone know how to extract it from it .. and does some one know if their is different version of the ext rom of rogers .. cause one version of the rogers is on the wiki

note: the rom from rogers is a WM5 ... that might be the problem ....

i have wm6.1 .. it's shadow ce .. i love it .

today i called rogers and had the caller id activated . i was excited! but it doesn't work on my phone .

must be because i have shadow ce and not the standard rom .

what can i install to activate the caller id feature?

it is not on the extended ROM apprently.
There is another thread where someone installed the Rogers WM5 ROM and reset before the extended ROM was installed and Name Display still worked.

on another thread people have pledged money, but no go.

you know what... the rogers Tytn(hermes) comes with wm5 .. but the rogers Touch comes with windows wm6 .. and name display works .

so can we install the wm6 from the rogers touch onto our hermes?

i'm on a kaiser now . but still interested in getting caller id to work .. so just to test, i put back the Rogers WM5 standard rom on my hermes.

I tested with two roms:
- Rogers ELF RUUUpdater-V2
- Rogers WM5 RUUUpdater-V2

Even though i have Name Display activated through rogers, i was not able to resurrect it's functionality by flashing to original roms .

this causes me to beleive the support for this feature is in the radio shipped with rogers.

Well, you are absolutely right aliencurv....it is in the radio.
I can't believe how many threads on the subject that are not concluded. (Maybe some people know the answer but just didn't post it)
I guess the problems is us, Canadians.
Anyhow, I managed to work rogers name display on my Hermes. I had been using CRCs 13.1 (absolutely great ROM, thanks a million). I found and downloaded original Rogers ROM (from ROMbaker) and flashed the Hermes. Name Display (CNAP) didn't work.
Then by accident I found this radio:

Updated the radio and I am in business. Name Display works.
I posted this because
1-I wanted to help fellow Canadians
2-I am hoping to get help from experienced members to make this work on WM6.1

Here is what I did while waiting a response.
First I downloaded ROMDonalds kitchen tools
Unpacked CRCs 13.1 and Rogers original rom.
Copied ril.dll and rilgsm.dll FOLDERS from the rogers dump folder to CRCs dump, repacked the rom and flashed my hermes. Phone turned on and connected to the computer but screen was pure white. Nothing was visible.
Then I copied only rilgsm.dll FILE and packed the rom. Phone turned on normal but no name display.
Then I copied ril.dll file. Same as above.
In each case I also created the registry settings under HKLM/.../RIL that exist in Rogers ROM but not in CRCs.
This is what I could do as a rookie. Any experienced person's help would be highly appreciated.
