P3600 WM6 - ADW-edition - English and Dutch
Version 1.1

Introduction
I put a lot of time to release an English and Dutch version at the same time. This is my second ROM (for both languages). I didn't post the first ROM here to see if it was stable enough. I think this second version is stable and good enough to post here.
The only differences between the Dutch and English version is the language. The ROM is based on Bepe's (OS 5.2.1908 Build 18508.0.7.0) BaseROM. I hope you people like this version.

When you already have a ROM with RadioROM 1.46 or higher you could download the ROM without RadioROM. To view your RadioROM version go to start -> settings -> tab: system -> Device Information. The version include RadioROM is RadioROM version: 1.50.08.11.

You are using the English version and some words are Dutch?

I think it has something to do with changing the regional settings to Dutch.
You can try to change the Regional settings to English?

If you really cannot get GPS working (you really need to wait the "GPS not found" becomes "Waiting for a valid GPS Signal" after some time - and then fixes. If this is not the case it is almost certainly that your radio rom is not the right version. Search the forum - for version 1.46.11.00, say - and you should be good to go.

What RadioROM are you using?

I advice RadioROM 1.46.xx.11 or higher.

The Java Manager is JBed and it is English in the Dutch and English ROM. It was too much work to translate it. Maybe I forgot to translate the shortcut?

I am not using Bepe's his personal ROM. The BaseROM is a original HTC ROM ported to work on the Trinity (and WWE). I used this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=323876) BaseROM. This means that programms Bepe added are not default avaiable in my ROM. I prefer the 10-button commManager in stead of the new version.
I am not familiar with the contactlist which has letters on the right side.

As far as I know that is impossible. Your operator is handling the voicemails, not your phone.

Only if an operator sends a voicemail data to the phone it would be possible. The only problem is, there isn't any implementation standard for this. As far as I know only iPhone support counting voicemails on selected networks.

im using destinator 6 it work great on my other mUn rom & Lvsw rom but not working on this program says " Gps not found " i keep soft reset n try many ways but useless ! even i cant able to appear GPS icon in system menu ! thanks in Advance plz guide me !

Did you try the GPS Info tools?

You can find this program under Start -> Programs -> Navigation -> GPS Info
Does this program show Date and Time under the "More Info" button?

If yes: GPS is working fine, it could take some time for the first fix.
If no: Reflash the RadioROM or the complete ROM incl RadioROM.

If GPS info is working and Destinator not, it is most likely your settings in Destinator are wrong. Make sure GPS connects to COM-port 9 (bautrate 4800 or higher).

It is right the External GPS settings icon is missing from the system menu.
I removed this icon.

You need a data connection to run Opera Mini. Without a data connection Opera Mini can not finish the installation. This means, phone not on flightmode and a 2G\3G\Wifi connection.

Yes, you were right. After some debugging, I found this problem disappeared after removal of "HTC-PLUS" today plugin (complete removal, not just unchecking it on today settings). It is a pity, though, as "HTC-PLUS" seems to use less RAM and less memory leak than the popular "HTC HOME".

Great job ADW! very fast rom. I dont like the HTC Home in any rom, and all the rom has that;) so its good when u can disaible it, and have more orginal look, just causing memory leaks. Love the black glossy theme when Home is disable! Perfect! every thing i tried works perfect!
One of the best roms so far in my opinion, the software u put in this rom is just great.

Using ofcourse the wwe version and 1.41.00.11 radiorom, and its seems to bee a good combination

Please download and install the original WM5NewMenu.

I removed the WM5NewMenu control panel. The main reason is to keep the number of settings minimal. Too many settings can confuse people, especially user with little Windows Mobile experience. The second reason is I didn't have to translate the control panel to Dutch.

Thank you - this is by far the best ROM for me personally. Clear and concise organisation in this ROM and also very clean. The applications and customisations you have selected are very good and it doesn't include unnecessary fluff.

Obviously I switch my regional settings after installation from Dutch to English (South Africa) - this caused the Java menus to render "<unknown>" text. This was easily fixed by copying the jbed.exe.0413.mui to jbed.exe.0409.mui - after this Java could resolve text lookups for the 0409 (English locale).

Another problem I encountered was in the HTC Accuweather XML database. I selected "Cape Town, South Africa" as the weather location and as soon as it downloads the data for, the unit instantly reboots. Upon closer inspection I found that the particular entry for "Cape Town, South Africa" has some invalid control (white space) characters. I edited this with notepad, and cleared out the linefeeds and other characters. This fixed my problem. (I'll attach the corrected XML file to this post). Note that the unit needs to be restarted before changing the weather location (in addition to selecting a different location before reselecting Cape Town).

I've been using WM6 WWE ROM's now since the first one available. I don't want to hurt anyone, BUT I've got to say ......

This is the best ROM I've seen after hunderds flashed so far !!!!!

Note:
I've used the SPB frontend incl. Mobile Shell / Diary / Phone Suite / Weather (WeerOnline.nl), Voice Dail with Jabra 500v, ActiveSync, TomTom 6.032 with subscriptions, FlitsNav, PocketPoiEdit, Windows Live 10.6.33.0600, browsing the net with IE, WMP Today, Windows Media, Office, Advanced Configuration Tool and Google Maps
No VOIP, 3G video call or anything like that, yet ...
Still 34 MB free storage and 22 MB program.

Again ... not to hurt anyone which are doing a great job here too, but only my very personal opinion.

I lost a ActiveSync connection with 1 PC, but this happend with another ROM too based on this WM6 version build.

I have a quite unusual problem/bug!

I have tried twice as it happened to a colleague of mine and could not believe it at first.

When having an enforced password by our exchange server, does not matter what our password is.

I mean the password we enter as we reboot the phone!

What we found is when we set for the owner info to appear after booting, password will not work anymore... it just changes to unknown passowrd forcing me to do a fresh install of the ROM losing all settings!

Any help?!?

If GPS info is working and Destinator not, it is most likely your settings in Destinator are wrong. Make sure GPS connects to COM-port 9 (bautrate 4800 or higher).

It is right the External GPS settings icon is missing from the system menu.

Tested this ROM out and it seems quite nice. However, in the WWE version, you may want to use the English format for time/dates, or give an option for it (12 hour time format and month/day/year for dates), and the English spellings for the months and days etc.

Other than that I really like this. Great work.

In my experience when this happen you can do some testing!
1. Check screen brightness, bigger = less battery
2. Disable InfraRed
3. Check CPU usage
4. If using UMTS/GPRS battery will drain a lot faster, so disconnect if not using
5. If none of this help, then just... switch to a different ROM:D

I have a quite unusual problem/bug!

I have tried twice as it happened to a colleague of mine and could not believe it at first.

When having an enforced password by our exchange server, does not matter what our password is.

I mean the password we enter as we reboot the phone!

What we found is when we set for the owner info to appear after booting, password will not work anymore... it just changes to unknown passowrd forcing me to do a fresh install of the ROM losing all settings!

Any help?!?

- SPB Time's alarm is working well.
- Audio Manager works good even when phone on standby.
- Touch Commander compatible.

1 thing that I'm wondering is whether or not it's possible to change the HTC Home icons to colored ones?
Usually I'd put the new png files into the HTCHome folder, but this doesn't seem to exist...

Just hold the "cal end butten"for a couple of sekonds then the data conektion ends!

Just use a program called bandswitch, I use it as well, auto disconnect after x seconds, also it has many other options which might help you.

Take control of your connections:
Enable and disable connections. Disabling connections makes imposible to use them so you know they wont generate traffic data.
Stablish and close connections.
Set a time frame where connections wont be allowed (ie, when you are sleeping) saving money and battery..
Turn off/on Bluetooth and Wifi with or without time limite. When the limit expires then It is set to off state

I've been using it for a while now, it's very fast, very stable...
At first I thought it leaked a bit memory, but actually it has never dropped below 22Mb so I can always start my Navigon 6.

This weekend, with the change to winter time, I thought my Trinity would've changed automatically, but it didn't. Checked time zone settings and discovered it was changed to GMT+2.

Thanks for the tip on disabling Automatic Time Zone. I hope it will stay on my GMT+1 setting now :p

Few things you can try:
- Try another USB-port
- Open ActiveSYnc on the Device, see if it gives any error message
- Try a different USB-cable OR PC
- Check if Wm5torage is not activated?
- Go to USB to PC (under settings -> tab: Connections). Switch the status of the checkbox (I advice to switch it off)

I installed ADW 1.1 WWE today. What can I say other than 'WOW'. I am LOVING this ROM. I was previously using AX3L v2.0.8.1 and it was a very good ROM as well but I love the interface and the applications that adewidt has chosen (Task Manager, Registry Editor, GPS Info.... ALL FANTASTIC). I really love the tabbed interface, weather, etc. GREAT JOB adewidt.

What I would love to see implemented to make this perfect (for me anyways) and worth a nice donation to adewidt for his efforts are the following:


- The option to change color/size of digital clock on Today Screen. Also, it would be great if you did not see the shadow of the LED type numbers that are not lit up. It distracts from the clarity of the true numbers (time).

- Add a nice battery icon with remaining % battery life and colored levels (like SPB Mobile Shell).

- The option to set that the 'Home' tab of the today screen (where the clock is visible) to AUTO DEFAULT back to that tab after a certain time or after turning on the device from sleep mode.

- The weather tab is doing something strange after an hour or so of updating the weather data. When you first click the tab it displays 'Unable to retrieve data for selected city' but after 5 seconds the last loaded
data is displayed.

Some of us may not have subscriptions to 3G, etc. where we are always connected to the Internet. As such, I feel there should be an option to either auto-check for new data or to update manually. If 'Update Manually' is selected, the last weather data should be displayed (with the status showing how long ago it was last updated as it does now). If 'auto-check' is selected, then it can function the way it does now.. first trying to check for current data.


- The 'Launcher' tab should have ONE MORE ROW for adding icons (shortcuts)

- The 'Ringtone' tab should allow for a custom configuration/volume. Also, the 'Automatic' option does not seem to do anything or allow you to make any selections.


- The 'GPS Info' Application needs a more aesthetically pleasing icon. If you add the GPS Info application to the 'Launcher' application the icon looks ugly and pixelated. Please make a sexy looking icon with a nice satellite! ;)


I hope that some of you would like to see these changes. I am very impressed by this ROM thus far.

Hello adewidt.. I have been playing with this new ROM and I LOVE IT. I have noticed the following however:

1) I am located in Vancouver, Canada and my time is set to GMT-8 Pacific US. For some reason, every evening the clock jumps back 1 hour. I'm not sure if this has something to do with Daylight Savings Time??

2) I was using Task Manager and took a look at the 'Applications' tab. I noted that there are 3 Active Tasks running for 'Phone' (cprog.exe). Each one has the same HWND PID and TID values but there are three tasks. Is this normal operation? When you reset the device, cprog.exe is not running. As soon as you use the dialer, there are 3 cprog.exe tasks.

Please advise.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I visited the Microsoft website and read up about Daylight Savings time and how it has changed for Canada/USA/Mexico for the 2007 year. Here's the link:

So I downloaded and installed the patches for Windows XP (which were already installed as part of an update), MS Outlook and Windows Mobile.

I am on the West coast of Canada so am using the 'GMT-8 Pacific US' option in the clock settings.

So, I enter the correct date and time and all is good. I then soft-reset and when the phone has finished booting, the correct time shows for about 5 seconds and THEN.... POOF!!!! Before my eyes, I see the clock revert back 1 hour!!! I don't understand it!

Rico.I think your mobile carrier send wrong time-zone information, or is not sending time-zone information at all.

On my holiday in Turkey it worked well (the time-zone automaticly switched to +2), back in the Netherlands it did not switch back to +1. I think it depends on the operator if it works or not.

RadioROM is needed for al radio-based signals (GSM, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi. Every official ROM contains a RadioROM too. It is bundled in one package.
2. if i decided to go with the radioROM, do i just need to download file #3?Yes I advice to download #3. It is inclusive the RadioROM and install the RadioROM automaticly.
3. what is file #1 'Allaboutphone'? do i need this too?Only a mirror for the files. But you need to be registered on that forum to download the files.

One annoying problem. I am not able to update the weather in the HTC Home Plug.
I press the "Select your city here", it goes to the settings screen, in which everything is disabled. I cannot select anything, not to type anything, only return to the previews screen.

Any suggestions?

One small issue I found has to do with the HTC Home plugin: the launcher. In the left uppermost corner an icon is visible that starts the com manager: which is good.
However, I found that when I accidentally removed that icon, I could not get it back: it was simply not in the list of apps you can choose from.
Is this a know issue? Fix?

HansHTC Home plugin searches for shortcuts in the directory \Windows\Start menu\

There does not exists a link to the commManager in the startmenu folder.
This is why you can not add it again.

Solution:
First create a shortcut to commManager.exe and add it to the startmenu folder. After that you can add the commManager again to the Home plugin.

Hi have been using this ROM for a few weeks now and I have had a problem getting MMS working for th Australian 3 network...!

After further investigation, I have noticed that your rom will not allow me to set up a setting using Planet 3 with 3MMS setting to WAP 2.0 & port 8799, which is what it needs to be set to.

Every time I make the changes or create a new setting, I fill in all the details and as soon as I hit OK, it changes the WAP setting to WAP 1.2...?

Your assistance with this issue is greatly appreciated.

PS... for those with 3 Australia, these are the required settings for your D810;
(I assume you have a connection setup ie: Planet3, My ISP, etc)

Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Connections ->
"Add New..." -> Enter a name... = "3services" (or whatever you want) -> Select a modem... = "Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)"

While here if you wish to change the title to the connection, click on the general tab (lower half of the screen.) and you can change it from "My ISP" to whatever you like, I called mine "3 Australia"

After further investigation, I have noticed that your rom will not allow me to set up a setting using Planet 3 with 3MMS setting to WAP 2.0 & port 8799, which is what it needs to be set to.

I have had the same thing happen to me, dont worry..!

After you launch the "ROMUpdateUtility.exe", and it gets to the rainbow screen (thats what I call it), boot loading screen, I think..?, it seems to hang there with the rainbow of colour...!

Leave the the Dopod as it is,

DO NOT UNPLUG IT, OR REBOOT IT, JUST LEAVE IT AS IT IS, AT THAT RAINBOW SCREEN,

then, wait for the program "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" to error out (I think its error 204), click on exit, to shut it down, and then let it close down & lauch it again, and it will continue to flash the dopod.

I only found this out by accident but I know it works, because with this ROM, I have to do it all the time, and I have flashed my dopod d810 many times.

I think everyone agrees that this is one of the most stable roms cooked for the Trinity. If you want all bells and whistles, you can try the other roms, but as you are hesitant in the first place...go with this rom. The (very few) problems you might encounter are all solved or discussed in this thread.

I hope I can release it this week, but I dont make any promises.
Extremely busy with my study...

Some things on my todo:
- Add TotalCommander in stead of GSFinder
- Add QuickMenu as new taskmanager/startmenu
- Some small bugfixes
- Try to fix losing settings/corrupt email with Ausdims solution (think it really works :) )
- Update HTC software to newest versions

One of my goals is to make the device easier to control with the buttons.

What I am not going to do:
- Switch to OS 5.2.1933, Did some research and OS 5.2.1933 is a mix of serveral OS versions. What I remember only 6 OS files where changed in that build. In my opinion it is not worth to upgrade the OS (also not enough time to do that).
- Integrate TouchFlo, I dont like the Cube interface. In my opinion it is only a different presentation of the HTC Home today-plugin without any addition possibilities. Saves a lot of space too.

Request and ideas for the new ROM-version are welcome ;)

Did anyone ever tried installing any version of Broadcomm/Widcomm Bluetooth stack on this ROM?

I have a cooked version of this stack, originally made for Atom and transferred to Dell X51v, both are HTC devices. Even though it was designed to WM5, it worked well on WM6 as well.

As soon as the new ADW ROM is released, I'll try the stack on my Trinity. Worse case scenario, I'll need to reflash it :)

Yesterday when i tried that 4GB microSD, I used an adapter which I've ordered from ebay. Today I retried, using a Sandisk adapter, and guess what: it worked... The imported one worked with my 2GB iGo card, but not with the 4GB card.

Did you put HardSPL on your device?

If yes, put your device in the bootloader en reflash.
If no, use splxploit (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=308691) to flash HardSPL to your device. After flashing HardSPL you can reflash mine or any other ROM.

I don't have enough knowlegde and time to change the XIP section.

My idea is to bring out two version.
1. A2DP disabled, but with good-old-XIP which does not lose settings after softreset
2. A2DP enabled with slightly improved XIP.

I also tried the Widcomm bluetooth software on my P3600. It is not an improvement over the Microsoft bluetooth software (A2DP had a lot of pauzes).

Idea 1 causes a new IMEI number -> TomTom looses DEVICE ID -> we can only change DEVICE ID once in the 6 months. Many did this already when we changed from WM5 to WM6 (based on DOPOD ROM).

It's funny, but it took me way more time and effort to get the adapter than the 6GB card...

but I have a problem with audio manager: during the playback, if I turn off the display (standby), when Audio Manager reaches the end of the song, it gets stuck there and cannot continue the playback: as soon as i turn on the trinity, it starts again.

Is it a bug of the Audio Manager? (there's an old releas in adw rom: 1.0.2).

Problem is that I tryed to install the newest version (1.2.x), overwriting all the audio manager files in \WINDOWS but still it seems that the old version is starting... very strange to me...

ADW - I have just flashed your ROM for the third time.

1st time - liked it - Best I had tried to date - kept it for 6 weeks. But then went to try something else.

2nd time - came back - everything else I tried may have had some advantages be it in appearance - functionality - according to my taste. But having said that - overall your ROM was better than any I had tried. so I was back.

3rd time - OK I'm a curious fellow - so I keep trying new ROMs. This appeases my flashing addiction (no I don't expose myself). However, after getting fed up with one - I try another - then another and then come back to your ROM.

Simple, classy looking - full of features and it just plain works. Thanks for your hard work - can't wait to try your new ROM if you make one. The windows mobile 6.1 looks interesting!

I have used your ROM for so long now it is the best user interface on a trinity, and I have flashed the phones of friends and family with it. Tried some others but always returning to yours for bug-free life. Keep up the good work. What about 1.2? This weekend?

Finally build a test-version of 1.1 which does not lose settings and A2DP is still working.
There is only one problem, I need to rebuild a large part of the OEM section (all additional software and themes).

I hope to release it this weekend, but no promises.

Better to wait a bit and have a Rom with Windows 6.1 and as stable as ADW 1.1
