I've been on the forum as a 'casual browser' for sometime now but I'm pretty sure this is my first post on here, so 'Hello' everyone out there.

I've just recently upgraded my vario II to WM6. I first tried Black Satin then thought I'd have a dabble at cooking my own ROM image. I've been playing around with the Pandora kitchen over the last week, creating various images with ROM versions 3.61 and 3.62. Last night I flashed what I thought was going to be my final build. However, I've noticed something strange with the audio playback in standby mode.

The image I have flashed at the moment I created using the 3.62 ROM (CE 5.2.1622 | Build 18125.0.4.2). I added the HTC Kaiser 6 button home plugin and HTC Audio Manager from the touch. When I play music through the home plugin if I put the device into standby/sleep mode by pressing the power button the music will continue to play as it should but stops when it gets to the end of the track and won't continue to the next track in my playlist. When I take the phone out of standby/sleep it'll continue to the next track. Only solution at the moment is to just use the 'device lock' shortcut on the home plugin but the this means the screen won't turn off while the device is in my pocket.

The thing thats really bugging me is that, if I remember correctly, this functionality was working correctly on the build I had flashed on my vario II yesterday. that was created with the 3.61 Rom from the pandora thread. the only other differences in the build as far as i can remember is that yesterdays image didn't have GSFinder installed and todays does.

Unfortunately I didn't keep the build i used yesterday but I'll have ago at creating another image tonight and confirm that it was working correctly with the 3.61 Rom. I really don't want to go back to that Rom version though just to get this working. With the 3.61 Rom my vario seemed to be using up alot more memory than it does with the newer one.

Has anyone else noticed this behaviour with any of the roms they've tried?

Thanks,

Hif

Yes Audio Manger sucks in this respect. I simply use the HTC Home configuration tool to set WMP as player instead. Problem solved. There is also some nice skins that gives WMP big buttons and looking more like Audio Manager. I don't think changing rom will make any difference.

I wasn't able to configure the HTC Home plugin to work with Windows Media Player as i didn't have the HTC Home configuration tool but I got the other Music Plugin to work with both Media player and Audio Manager. Both of there have the same problem when startd from the Music plugin too, i.e. music stops after the track finishes in sleep mode. So it seems its not specific to just the Audio Manager app or the HTC Home plugin.

Any other suggestions anyone?

I had a play around with some ROMs last night I managed to work out what was causing the problem for Windows Media Player but not for Audio Manager. By disabling file caching using the Advanced Configuration tool I managed to get Media Player to play the next track but this doesn't seem to fix Audio Manager. Does audio manager use its own file caching?

Anyone???

Surely there's some techie person out there who knows whats going on under the hood???
