Ringtone plays gentle and to fast

Hello,

I have a QTek8310 with WM6.
When I change the profile from normal to silent and back to normal, the ringtone plays gentle and to fast.
After I reset the phone it works fine again.

What is the problem?

I have the same problem with my HTC Cigular with wm5.

This happens very rarely (once in months) to me as well (customized WM6 ROM). I do however a scheduled restart of the device in the night to have a fresh setup in the morning - so possibly this is why I hardly ever see that.
Try to identify the actions you did before that happens - possibly a certain application changes clock frequencies.

Do you use any overclocking tool?
