Anyone tried this with a tytn2 which had the white screen problem?

Hello everybody,
I bought Kaiser few days ago from At&T and was eager to use it with different networks so decided to try to unlock it. I tried using the jockyw2001(SuperCID) software: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=361236
I had the "white screen problem" when installing the HardSPL so after some research found this thread explaining how to deal with it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=354061 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=354061)
I did everything and as a result had "SPL-1.0 OliPof" in my boot(three color) screen together with the USB sign. Then since the step 7 from the "white screen problem" was the same as step 5 from jockyw2001(SuperCID)'s manual i decided to skip it and go directly with running kaiser-supercid.exe. Nothing happened - no success or error signs at all - just black screen...
I thought this may be due to the mentioned missed step 5 and decided to do it. After KaiserCustomRUU.exe finished its job to 100% without problem my phone became unusable :( I hope it is not a complete brick ...
Before any intervention i had:
ROM -1.62.502.0
R: 1.27.14.09
G: 22.45.88.07H
D: 1.62.00.00
Now i see on the splash screen:
R: 1.27.12.11
G: 22.45.88.07H
D: 1.62.00.00
After that i see on my telephone the splash screen and the 3G animation and then black screen. Whatever i try to do just brings me either to black screen or some kind of many dots screen. I hope that there is a way it can be reset...
Can anybody help me with this ?
I am looking at the " Idiot's Guide to Restoring your phone to OEM Status " because obviously i am an idoit but i don't know how to do step 12 (Run SSPL.KAIS.exe from your phone) since i cannot access my phone at all.
The Actibve synk is working though so i hope that's a good sign...
Any idea, advice or helpful link is very much appreciated. I am desperate... Thanks.

Tried downloading file SSPL-KAIS.exe 10-times today from rapidshare. Each time Trend Micro Client/Server Security Agent reported it infected with PAK_Generic.005.
Suggest anyone pursuing this file review with caution.

Going through the guide, it says to run the SSPL-KAIS.exe from the phone, and when it is at the boot loader (RGB + white bars) run KaiserCustomRUU.exe, which starts and explicitly says that the phone needs to be connected with an activesync connection. Why did I have to run that app and get to the bootloader?
If I run KaiserCustomRUU.exe with an activesync connection established (it erorrs out if I am already at the bootloader), then restart into the bootloader, it is definitely not right.
KAIS1*0 MFG

EDIT: nevermind, I think I got it. I forgot the 'unplug and replug usb cable' step that you perform when at the jumpspl screen.
EDIT 3 or 4:
Now it reads:
KAIS1*0
SPL-1.56.0000
CPLD-8
Uhm... I am still at your original problem... Started SSPL-KAIS on the phone, ran the KaiserCustomRUU on PC, it can't connect...

Here's my issue, my Tilt has that white screen problem. Instead of running SSPL-KAIS.exe from my phone I just soft reset then held down the camera button to manually get into bootloader. I did all the correct steps from there. Ran KaiserCustomRUU and all the stuff popped up on the screen. I flashed the new file and my phone soft reset after it was complete. well i let it boot up then soft reset again to get into bootloader manually but the same "SPL-1.0.OliPof" is there. Any suggestions?
UPDATE: I used jockyw2001 JumpSPL to get into the bootloader like I did to originally put hardSPL on. Then followed all the steps and have 1.93.0000 back on. Thanks for the help guys. :D

hope this wasnt already addressed but this is my situation...for some reason my phone wont activesync anymore, it just shows "this usb device has malfunctioned" and shows an "unknown device" on all computers i connect it to and need to do a warranty return directly to htc to either get repair done if a conection is bad inside or something or just dend out a new device...the problem is that i cannot sonnect to do any of these steps, except loading the rom from a storage card...can the other steps be run from a storage card as well?

Since I had to muddle my way through this I thought I spell out what I did to return my Tilt to stock SPL to fix a freezing issue with L26's Diamond V4 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395555) released yesterday and formerly (two days ago) when I was running BigStorage IE Fixed (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=336509). I want to stick with the custom ROM rather than revert to an AT&T
1. Downloaded pof's SSPL-KAIS.exe and copy it to my phone's MicroSD Card in a folder named Temp
2. Connected to PC with AS connection (WinXP Pro SP2/AS 4.5)
3. Ran SSPL.KAIS.exe from my phone
4. Once I had the bootloader screen on my phone I run KaiserCustomRUU.exe from the folder on my Desktop
5. After it's finished verify my SPL by holding down power and camera buttons while doing a soft reset
Since mine was an AT&T Tilt, I used this one:
Original ATT SPL - http://rapidshare.com/files/92272343/ATT_SPL.rar
I'm now at:

ok so i found a thread stating you can flash both roms and spl via sd method but i cant get it to read in the device...i formated it both quick and long in vista and tried both a rom and spl and the bootloader just reads
'security unlocked' at the top
KAIS*0 MFG
SPL-1.0.OliPof
CPLD-8
'Serial' at the bottom

This guide is great, but it doesn't address how to remove the "Security Unlocked" banner on the bootloader screen. How does one restore the security (and therefore remove the banner)?
Thanks!

Updated - NOW IDIOT FRIENDLY
Here is the process to revert back to the AT&T or HTC ROM and bootloader after flashing a non-OEM ROM on your device.
Note: If you had to use jockyw2001's "White Screen" fix in order to install HardSPL you will need to use it to revert back... below where the steps reference SSPL-KAIS.exe replace them with jockyw2001's JumpSPL1.56-SSPL.exe. You can obtain the files from his thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=354061).
ok... Assuming you're starting with a Kaiser/Tilt with HardSPL and the ROM that didn't come installed on it:
General Steps
1. Reflash the OEM ROM
2. Extract the OEM ROM with NBHextract.exe
3. create a new NBH using htcrt using only the 01_SPL.nb
4. Put your NBH file containing only the SPL into an empty directory on your PC
5. Copy KaiserCustomRUU.exe to that folder
6. Copy the SSPL-KAIS.exe to your phone (if you had to use the White Screen fix you'll need jwocky2001's JumpSPL1.56-KAIS.exe)
7. Run SSPL-KAIS.exe from your phone (or JumpSPL1.56-KAIS.exe, depending on your situation)
8. Flash your "custom" NBH containing only the SPL.nb by running KaiserCustomRUU.exe
9. After it's finished verify your SPL by holding down power and camera buttons while doing a soft reset.
10. Send your phone back to HTC or ATT
pretty sure I've covered it all... Let me know your results. I've done this successfully following the steps above.
Idiot's Guide to Restoring your phone to OEM Status
1. Get the original ROM for your device (HTC (http://rapidshare.com/files/57816419/RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.5_radio_sign_22.45.88. 07_1.27.12.11_Ship.rar.html) or ATT (http://rapidshare.com/files/55298724/RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_.exe))
2. Flash the OEM ROM to your device (this will restore your OS but not the bootloader, we'll get to that below)
3. Copy the ROM to a temp folder and extract it, I use WinRAR, just right click on it and select "Extract to Here"
4. After extracting the ROM you should have a several files here, one called RUU_signed.nbh is the one we're looking for. Copy this file to another empty temp directory.
5. Download NBHExtract (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=289830) and follow the instructions in the link to extract the NB files from the ROM (essentially just copy nbhextract.exe to the temp folder where the nbh file is and run it from a command line - like so C:\temp\kitchen\>nbhextract.exe RUU_signed.nbh
6. You should now have several .nb files in that directory, the one we're interested in is the 01_SPL.nb.
7. Now you have to create an NBH file with just the SPL, to do that download htcrt (HTC Rom Tool) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311909).
8. Run the tool and under the ROM Builder tab select Kaiser, the rest on the left side doesn't matter right now. On the right side of this window click the "..." next to SPL and select the 01_SPL.nb you extracted from the OEM ROM. This should be the only thing added under Firmware Contents. Click Build ROM.
9. You should now have a NBH file that is relatively small (about 258K), copy this NBH file to a new empty directory
10. Download pof's KaiserCustomRUU.exe (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334890) and put this in the same directory used in step 9. Don't run this yet.
11. Download pof's SSPL-KAIS.exe (http://rapidshare.com/files/92101137/SSPL-KAIS.exe) and copy it to your phone
12. Run SSPL.KAIS.exe from your phone (make sure you do this on your actual device and not your PC)
13. When you have the bootloader screen on your phone run KaiserCustomRUU.exe from the folder used in step 10.
14. After it's finished verify your SPL by holding down power and camera buttons while doing a soft reset.
15. Send your device back for warranty repair or replacement.

Thanks for the above 'idiots guide' to reverting to OEm status..
BUT......I managed to flash my Kaiser to leaked version of 6.1 a few days ago initially installing Hardspl.
Of course it now comes to light that the freezing issue may well be down to the fact that hardspl is installed.
I carried out some searching on this site for the original T-mobile vario III ROM, thought I'd found it but it appears that perhaps this ROM isnt the right one as other T-mobile users have had the same issue.
I quite literally get stuck at Instruction No. 2 as I cant simply re-flash my phone to original ROM.
After downloading a few more files and usgin NBHextract I managed to obtain 00_spl.nb....I just couldnt seem to locate 01_spl.nb
Can someone point me in the right direction ?
I beleive I've got most of the files necessary apart from a correct ROM for T-mobile's Vario III WM6.0.

I can't get the SSPL-KAIS.exe to work. I just get a white screen. I've tried using JumpSPL1.56-KAIS.exe and get the tri-color screen but the flash starts and never gets past 0%. Eventually the customRUU gives up with a connection error.
I'm using HardSPL with the latest HTC release and the lockups are driving me mad.
Any help would be appreciated.

Ok this is what I did and found..
I had the original WM6.0 version shipped on my device. I unlocked etc using HardSPL and the custom radio.
I've since updated to the released HTC WWE version of WM6.1.
Getting the random lockups issue.
Tried to revert back to the SPL that came with 6.1 but the SSPL-Kais would not run (white screen).
I've since found that my radio version was 1.27.12.17 and I can't flash any other radio! It appears to succeed but upon reboot it hasn't changed!
So...
I've flashed the radio again with 1.27.12.17..
then flashed 1.65.20.29 (successful!!).
Tried to run SSPL-Kais but still gives a white screen.
Rom: 3.28.405.0 WWE
Radio: 1.65.20.29

I recently experienced the same problem of 0% and communication errors but did manage to complete it successfully. A couple of points that might help:
1) For white screen use JumpSPL1.56-KAIS.
2) Start with an active activesync connection to the phone before executing SSPL-KAIS or JumpSPL1.56-KAIS. When your in the tri-color screen the word USB should be displayed at the bottom of the screen. At this stage unplug the USB cable and then replug it in.
3) Also, make sure you execute SSPL-KAIS or JumpSPL1.56-KAIS from the phone (not storage card). I read that it may also help to completely remove the storage card from the device.
Hope this helps.

any suggestions?
I've had this phone for less than 3 weeks and I think I might just lost a good chunk of change by voiding my warranty...

okay i dont get it ...
this are my steps:
- done the steps to get a flashable SPL
- connecting my kaiser with pc
- active sync is green
- changing to tricolor mode (JumpSPL1.56-KAIS.exe located in root)
- waiting for usb text in white part
- disconnecting and reconnecting usb (so active sync is gray)
- executing "KaiserCustomRUU.exe" (located in one folder including "RUU_spl.nbh")
- accept every step till it comes to the flash
- the flash wont change from 0%
- after a while it says "Uptade error"
does anyone know how to solve this?
i really would like to have the original SPL back on my phone. Its a German Vodafone with oem reconstructed rom.
EDIT:
btw i just have to softreset the pda after the update error and everything works normal ... so i guess it didnt really think about starting any update process ... damn

Ok, don't ask how (has to do with working for a large company that appearently has pull with AT&T) I've been informed that I'm getting a replacement Tilt (long story, but my USB charges but doesn't allow for ActiveSync to work anymore, and AT&T wouldn't replace it due to the sticker in the battery compartment was pink. But someone at AT&T has pulled strings and HTC is doing a replacement directly with me...).
So I've read through this and I see others asking the same question I have... I need a way to change the SPL by flashing from a microSD. I've read post 227:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2138242&postcount=227 and know I can get back to the original rom, but want to be able to get the original SPL on the device. Is it possible to do this?
Since a lot of warranty returns appear to be around USB issues, I think this would be a very helpful method to have detailed if its possible?

Okay - I am about to do this since I am having issues with the usb port (just power and sound related though so I should be okay here) and have a warranty phone in hand but my question is about radios.
Does the original ATT ROM come with radio? Do I need to flash back to the old one? I ask because I know some radios are incompatible with some ROMs and I don't want to back down the ROM , have it lock in with the newer radio I have 1.64.08.21, and then have issues. If so shoudl I do radio or ROM first before SPL?

I wanted to revert back to stock ROM because I was tired of duttys. My phone is stuck in a constant soft reset. It resets, gets to the first boot screen (AT&T), and then resets again. If I use the soft reset button with the camera and power button, I can access the bootloader. It reads KAIS1*0 MFG
SPL-1.0.OliPof
CPLD-8
I have tried flashing other roms back to the phone and nothing is working. Is there a quick way around this I hope? Looks like I will be without a phone tomorrow unless someone responds quickly. Help! :P

you can follow post 2 in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396922) but in #8 the last step you just flash the original official rom you can get it from WIKI (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser_ROMs).

Question, I reverted back to the original AT&T ROM from Dutty's WM6.1 Diamond build. I loaded the AT&T ROM following the directions, but did not change the bootloader back. What does the bootloader do? Will I have problems if I don't change that back also? Everything seems to be working ok.

you mean you didn't change the SPL back? I'm assuming that is what you meant by bootloader.

Go to the kaiser wiki, and look for the stock rom section, download the rom you are looking for, and flash it. Then you will have your stock rom again. Also you might try reading the first post...just a though, since that's what the thread is about.

Correct...All I did was download the AT&T ROM from HTC's website and install it. Step 2 says "Flash the OEM ROM to your device (this will restore your OS but not the bootloader, we'll get to that below)". So I didn't change the SPL back, is this a problem? I am not sending it back to AT&T, I just liked the AT&T ROM better, so this is just for my use.

So after installing HardSPL, we need to reflash the OEM ROM and thats it. Or do we need to do the Bootloader also (whatever that is) ?
I'm assuming that those long instruction on reverting are for ROMs other than OEM.
Please clarify.

I know, this must be the 1'000'000 time that someone asks about this, but I am a total n00b. Had my TYTN flashed by a collegue and now I have to reconstruct it to send it back to the place I bought it, had a french version of the orange image on it. What to do? I had to put the HardSPL on it and the simunlocker besides the cooked rom if I remember correctly.

***NEVERMIND*** - update, I checked on another OEM ATT Stock TILT and the numebrs match, so mine is good to go.
Can someone just verify that this is correct. I have followed all the steps in the first post of this thread. What I did..
1. Flash stock updated ATT ROM
2. Used shortcut for ATT TILT owners and picked SPL for updated rom
3. Used SSPL-KAIS to use the ATT shutcut
What I have now is a phone running the following:
radio: 1.27.14.09
protocol: 22.45.88.o7h
1.62.00.00
When I enter the tri color screen (pressing power and camera buttons then soft reset) I get the following:
KAIS1*0
SPL-1.93.0000
CPLD-8
Serial showing in the bottom
Is this correct? Should my TILT now be ready to send back to ATT. I wish I had written down the numbers before I unlocked and upgraded my phone. If anyone can confirm this before I send it back, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks

So I'm having some difficulty reverting back to the OEM ATT Rom so I can send my phone out for service. This is the 3rd Tilt that I've had problems with and every time I revert back it goes pretty smoothly. For some reason this one is different.
I am using sirsycho's guide for reverting back and I get stuck on the second step of loading the OEM ROM. The ROM Update Utility comes up and my phone goes into TriColor mode and then to a white screen that displays:
"KAISIMG.nbh -
RADIO_V2 -
BOOTLOADER -
SPLASH1 -
OS -
Press power button to start update image
Press action button to cancel update image "
I press the power button but nothing works. Right before I press the power button ActiveSync shuts down on my PC. After a few minutes of waiting the PHone ROM Update Utlity says there is a USB connection problem and the phone is still stuck on the white screen with the same message from above displayed. I have to remove the battery to clear it.
I also tried reverting via microSD card but I can't get my phone into the TriColor screen. No matter how I try it, holding down the required buttons don't seem to work. It just resets itself.
Any suggestions?
And if it makes a difference, I'm using the older HardSPL programming (like v.1.something and Dutty's Touch ROM)

The guide found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335568) is a bit long winded...
Follow these abbreviated steps:
1) Flash the latest AT&T ROM to your phone
2) Run SSPL-KAIS / JumpSPL 1.56 / JumpSPL 1.93 (whichever one works with your phone)
3) Once your phone goes to the bootloader and displays USB, unplug your cable.
4) 5 seconds later, reconnect your cable (ActiveSync will NOT reconnect)
5) Flash the AT&T 1.93 SPL.

I'm with you bud. Mine went out last night. I have a tilt so I went in to the at&t store and asked very nicely to have the sweet lady put insurance on my phone. It needs a managers approval if it was purchased before a month or so ago. She helped me and presto! I have a new tilt on it's way! Only cost 50$ for the deposit.
KAIS1*0 MFG
SPL-1.0.01iPof

EDIT: nevermind, I think I got it. I forgot the 'unplug and replug usb cable' step that you perform when at the jumpspl screen.
EDIT 3 or 4:
Now it reads:
KAIS1*0
SPL-1.56.0000

This is important and probably should be added to the sticky "idiots guide". Forgetting to do this was the only thing that tripped me up..

Dumb question....
How are you guys accessing any of the files ON your phone if you're in the tri-color screen? I flashed originally with HardSPL, installed Dutty TouchFlo, and now that i'm trying to go back to the original OEM (Dutty's failed and locked my phone in tri-color mode after four months, out of nowhere!), I can't get to any of the files, can't see the phone on my laptop when it's connected, and therefore can't run any of these programs y'all are talking about.
What the hell am I missing? Help?

Thanks.
Hi tiwanow,
I am facing the same problem as you are now.
Did you have any luck unlocking the phone?

Your SPL should match the ROM you are flashing to. Find while one (SPL) the original ROM used and flash it as well as the ROM.
You really should try other ROMs though. AT&T left a lot to be desired and there are more than enough options out there that you are bound to find a cooked version you like.

I wanted to thank you guys for providing perfect instructions on how to re-virgin the phone, somehow in the mix I managed to accidentally get spl-1.93.000 for a spl. Don't know how it happened but I managed to get the factory one up and going. Lesson learned, don't buy aftermarket chargers as they don't charge your phone correctly leading me to believe the phone was defective. Second lesson, learn from the best on XDA and you'll make your phone do whatever you want it to. Thanks to all for such a great site for info and knowledge.

if you're not sending it back then there is no need to change the spl.
So let me get this straight... If a tilt currently has a cooked ROM and I would like to flash the recently released official ATT 6.1 ROM then all I have to do is run the RUU from HTC's site? No re-locking or anything? I am not new to this ROM business by any means. I am actually a Titan user trying to help a friend with her Tilt.
Sorry if this is already posted somewhere in this thread... I was starting to see double reading through everything.
Thanks in advance!

My phone came with the WM 6.0 official HT portuguese ROM
I had hard-spl my phone, installed cooked roms, but now I installed the offcial HTC 6.1 portuguese ROM and reverted the SPL for the warranty return..
I have just one question..
When I soft reset the phone, in the "smart mobility scrren" i get:
R:16.5.16.25
G:25.83.40.02h
D:3.28.00.00
And in the tri-color screen I get spl-1.56.0000
Is this correct? Because the first time I reverted, I folowed the entire tutorial (extracting the rom, and using the nbh file from the flashed rom to create de SPL) and in the tri-color screen I used to get spl-3.28.0000
But the last time I used the nbh file provided by the tutorial..
What is the correct SPL for my phone? (again, originaly a official 6.0 but upgraded to official 6.1)
Is it 1.56.000 like the original or 3.28.000 like the upgraded? I don't know if the SPL changes if you upgrade your phone the "offcial" way..
Cheers

I don't know if the SPL changes if you upgrade your phone the "offcial" way..Yes the spl changes if you upgrade the official way, it's all built into the upgrade package file. If you now have the official WM 6.1 ROM installed, the spl listed in the tri-colour screen should be 3.28.0000 (at least for the ROM version I have). If you run the official HTC upgrade again it updates the spl where required, although it may not run due to the current mismatch - I've never tried that. It will run to reflash the same ROM/RADIO/SPL versions that are already installed though.

Yep, you are right..
I had HTC 6.1 official ROM and SPL-1.56 (in the tri-color)
I re-flashed the official 6.1 and now I have SPL 3.28
Ready for warranty return :)
So, IMHO, it would be wiser to revert the SPL first (to any version) and then flash the official ROM.. That way, you're sure to have the correct SPL for your official ROM, right? Or am I talking nonsense?

I have a german htc kaiser with Wm 6.0, installed Hardspl to unlock it. After that i installed the official 6.1 Update from the Htc Homepage. Seems that Hardspl causes slowdowns and freezes so IŽll try to reflash the Original SPL. May i use the SPL File from the first page in this thread (Rapidshare Download for HTC Users) or do i have to extract the SPL File from the Official Upgrade ?

I Have an original HTC and as you know the SSPL is not working (White Screen Freeze) so I tried the JumpSPL1.56 (JumpSPL1.93 does not work too) and it started to update rom but stopped at O% and does not progress. Is there a solution. I have to return this phone as it is having some battery and freezing problems. Please help.
{EDIT}
Sorry solved it. I could do it only after going through the whole Kaiser WIKI.
Please add this to your procedure
For those who cannot run SSPL (White Screen Issue):
1. pull out the battery, REMOVE SIM and SD CARDS !! and reinsert battery (this step *is* important)
2. connect your PC to phone with a USB cable
3. copy JumpSPL1.56-KAIS.exe to your device and run it (make sure the USB cable is still connected). If you still get a white screen then reset your device and now try JumpSPL1.93-KAIS.exe
5. after a few seconds "USB" appears on the phone display
6. unplug and replug the usb cable
7. now flash hardSPL (run KaiserCustomRUU.exefrom you PC)
Notes:
1. if when running a JumpSPL an error is shown try to application unlock your device first with SDA_ApplicationUnlock (you must run this on PC with an activesync connection via USB cable). If you still get errors you need to hard reset your device (power off, keep both left and right navigation keys pressed and power on)

What successful reasons have AT&T customers used to get the warranty exchange? I've heard of broken speakers and locking the phone in boot loader mode. What other reasons are being covered?

Hi
I'm trying to restore my MDA from T-Mobile Austria and I'm a little bit stock - I'm using one of the reconstructed ROMs (the austrian one) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1586817&postcount=2 - the download consists of a NBH (KAIS_TMOB_1.56.112.4_RADIO_1.27.12.32_GER.nbh) and the KaiserCustomRUU.exe
If I run now NHBextract I get 00_Unknown.nb and 01_OS.nb but no 01_SPL.nb...
What shall I do?

My USB port died yesterday, I do not have a custom ROM or loader. But the AT&T tech asked if I had the latest updated ROM 6.1 I told him yes but I do not have 6.1 loaded. Do I need to load 6.1 before I ship it back even though I have the original AT&T 6.0 ROM.
If so I have opened the 6.1 RUU file with WinRar and I have 2 files that say radio_sign one ends in ship and the other in test which one should I put on my SD Card to update to 6.1 (i'm assuming ship) but don't want to send them a brick.

I am stuck at step 11.
I am getting the Connection Error 260 when I try to do it via USB cable and I've tried using the RUU_Signed.nbh via SD method as well. When I do it the SD method, it shows as successful update but the SPL version still reads 1.0 OliPof.
What am I doing wrong?
Oh yeah, I tried the SSPL.exe method too...

I was having the same problem.
Run SSPL-KAIS.exe
It will get to the bootloader, then disconnect from your computer.
Change the USB port to a different one on your computer.
Run KaiserCustomRUU with the ripped SPL from the ROM.
Should work, did for me.
I am using Vista 32 Bit, ripped SPL from the 6.1 ATT Rom which I have installed for return/repair.
If ripping it from the 6.1 ATT rom use the ship nbh.
Bootloader now shows:
kais1*0
spl-3.56.0000
cpld-8
Hope that helps.

i ripped the spl out of the official att wm6.1 release date august 6, 2008 and created a nbh of it (i needed it to revert to stock spl). I am not sure sirsycho if this is the same one as you have labeled feb. 14 but to keep the guide "everybody" :) friendly i am attaching the nbh. This reverts you back to stock spl 1.93.0000 so bootloader will show:
KAIS1*0
SPL-1.93.0000
CPLD-8
Hope this helps.
p.s. for convience i have included kaisercustomruu.exe

I decided to flash my Kaiser with an official HTC ROM and its SPL, just to familiarize with the procedure.
I extracted the ROM HTC TyTN II-RUU_Kaiser_HTC_ARA_3.31.415.1_radio_sign_25.83.40. 02_1.70.18.02_Ship.exe, and created the required nbh for SPL.
After I flashed the SPL, I found that bootloader says "SPL-3.29.0000". Before flashing I was under impression that I will get SPL 3.31 ( I was using cmonex's HardSPL 3.31, so I am sure SPL 3.31 is exist).
Is this normal?
Secondly, the phone came with WM6 / HTC ROM 1.8x.xx when it was purchased. Suppose I want to return it for warranty, do I have to revert back to HTC WM6 ROM or just HTC WM6.1 ROM will be fine?

thank you so much it works very well. thanks thanks thanks
worked like a champ. thanks!
also, since we're on the subject of....
if my phone's got minor nicks on the outside plastic and some scratches on the side, are they going to deny the warranty return?

I can say this..
My phone was having a defective problem. The LCD, when pressed in a certain spot, would change color to a yellowish tint. So I did all the steps, restored it to factory, and took it into a local At&T Warranty exchange center. They took it and replaced me with a new one :)

if you upgraded the phone to wm6.1 using official rom than wm6.1 rom is fine. Just to be safe though i would extract the spl out of the original wm6 rom and flash that to your phone.
Reason you got the 3.29 spl is because that is one of the latest one's from htc.
