disable EDGE and change keyboard language

hi,

Is anybody knows how disable the EDGE (maybe it's a mistake to do this but I thinks that will increase the baterry life, I've not care about MMS, wap... just gsm calls)

And another question : I upgrade with english AX3L rom and I want to change the QWERTY keyboard on a AZERTY one. Anybody have a solution?

Try this for the keyboard http://www.pocketcm.com/keyboard.php .
I don't think edge uses more battery life, just press the hangup button for a few seconds to turn it off if you are worried about it. 3G will use more battery though.

this keyboard works great

in fact on my phone the "E" icon always switch with a "X" icon and perhaps I'm wrong but I think the phone spend battery to search the EDGE network
With my other pdaphone (mio A701) I've been able to disable the EDGE and it's always the "X" icon

when I press the hangup button the "E" icon stay

edit : of course it's not "E" icon on the mio A701 but "G" icon
