Hi guys,

I'm totally new to the PDA Szene ;) and I own now an MDA II which is now running one of these WM6 ROMS. First of all - great job, runs fine, really like it!

But when reading the different posts here I get more an more confused. It starts with the different roms. Which WM6 Roms are available for the Himalaya ?

Is this ROm "WM2006 AKU7.0 RAMDisk-40MB Pagepool size-24MB for Himalaya" different to "TOFCLOCK HIMA WM6 AKU.0.7.0 Fresh!" ? And what the hack is that "ALL IN ONE TOFCLOCK HIMA WM6 AKU.0.7.0 ROM"... would be nice if there where an "all over" Thread about Roms and Versions.

And where is the "AddON1" of TOFCLOCK HIMA WM6 AKU.0.7.0 Fresh (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=328633) .. I only see the download for Addon2 ..

And I always read stuff about "Radio this version" vs. "Radio other version" - what the hell does it mean, where can I get this different Radio versions and how to update ?

Second thing I'd like to mention is that stuff about the RAMDisk - on my PDA it runs with 32 MB; 61 MB normal RAM. But 'cause the Himalay got 128 MB - where is the difference RAM ? And when I changed the RAMDisk size in the registry vom 32 MB to 10 MB, I got a RAMDisk with 10 MB, but normal RAM is still at 61 MB ...

And my last Problem is that networking stuff - I wanted to use my PDA without ActiveSync. So I changed the IP of the Himalaya (Connections-Remote-NDSI Host) manually to my local network (192.168.), changed the IP of the "windows-mobile-based network" adapter .. but vxUtils tells me, that the used IP in my PDA is still "169.254.2.1". At this moment I run an FTP Server at 169.254.2.2 (windows-mobile based networkadapter) and te PDA at 169.254.2.1 - it works, but it would be easier, if the IP could be changed to my local network ..

Thanks guys

i can see that its very confuzing to newbies..

the tofclock rom is relesed by helmi_c in memory of Tofclock(he was the only one who kept believing that WM6 exiist for Hima)..and the second one is relesed by C-Shekhar...u can check their respective post to find out wats da different b/w them..
THe all in one package contains The ROM,The Kitchen (which lets u make ur own ROM) and guide to make ur own rom..the OEM packages are those softwares which u can choose when u r making ur own rom in the kitchen..regarding the radio roms..since WM6 is released sum people are having PDA shutdown issues.like sum1's PDA closes at 10% but sum1's closes at 20% or 30%....

regarding Activesync..make sure u have ActiveSync4.5 (if running XP)..after that right click Activesync icon in ur taskbar and select Connection options
and select "Open activesync when my device connects" and " allow wireless connection to device...."

If u have any more misunderstanding feel free to ask
