hi there to you all if you are like me then you have spent many hours trying to get tomtom working on your vox so i thought i would post this "how to guide"
ok first thing you do is down load the SDA_ApplicationUnlock zip and unzip it plug your vox into the pc using activesync run the program and click ok it only takes a sec but it unlocks the phone so you can use tomtom as well as other apps.
next download the how to put tomtom on vox.zip and unzip it this is a very easy guide on how to install the tomtom on to your vox with pics
next download TomTom Navigator 6.030.8320 (HTC S710 v1.0) from rapidshare.com and unrar it follow the guide and it will install everthing you need in one go no messing (easy) the only thing you have to do is find your own activate code and your own map easily found just google it and that is it. just follow the guide.
i forgot the link for rapidshare is:-

Hello,
you .cab seems interesting, but can you create a version where the installation folder is not "Storage card" but "carte mémoire". Because when we try to install it on a french SPV it says there is not enough space as it tries to install on the phone memory instead of the Storage Card.
Thank you very much.

Hi bsmiley, and thank you very much for this great package !
Well, I hope this doesn't sounds too lame but ... I'm already stuck in the beginning with ... Fakecursor !
The tutorial says "Press the button to go to the home screen. This 'll exit the FakeCursor but now the icon of the FakeCursor is on the bar"
But ... What is the "bar" ? When I'm going back to the homescreen, the cursor actually disappears, but there's no way for me to recover it without launching it again via the start menu. And of course, when i'm switching back to tomtom installation, fakecursor is gone !
--> I can't get th fakecursor OVER tomtom installation !
And there's absolutly NOTHING on my taskbar or my "upper" bar !
Have you any idea ?
Thank you again for this great upload,
Nicolas

Hey there - thanks for this marvellous set of instructions and goodies,
however, I appear to be doing something wrong, and would find any extra help rather helpful!
I've followed your instructions - but when I first run TomTom this is what happens :
Using FakeCursor I select English UK. I'm then prompted 'English UK - YES / NO' - to which I again use FakeCursor to choose YES. And then I see the following message :
Your device is incompatible with TomTom NAVIGATOR
(and all I can then choose then is 'Continue').
Anyone have any ideas? What daft thing am I doing wrong?
Thanks guys

hi ok you need to unlock you vox first with the sda app unlocker when you get the phone for some reason you can not use certian programs so using this program makes it so you can try this and then let me know how you get on ps dont forget you do need to reset your phone after it gets unlocked

Hi there - thanks for the prompt response!
I tried running the SDA app - but I think somthing could be going wrong at this point.
The programme is called 'SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe' and in the task bar it appears as 'SDA FULL Application Unlock' (is this the correct version?), anyway, after choosing to Unlock my phone, and accepting that this may be unsafe - I get the following message :
"Phone is not unlockable"
Its a standard Orange e650 (that is the right phone isn't it...?)
Sorry for being so dumb - I know its bound to be something I'm doing.
And thanks again for helping me out

Ok - I was fairly sure I was doing something wrong, and had misunderstood what was meant by 'reset' - so I have now definitely cold reset my device, and have lost all contacts etc - all a fresh start.
I was sure this was going to solve it, but when I then follow your instructions, I get the same message (you device is incompatible...)
Help?! :(
Thanks again

I try smarttoolkit (and it's free :D ) to start fakecursor (if needed) after tomtom and it work fine. I think it's better than xbar.

I'm searching for maps in Europe like Benelux, Italy, etc.
When I have the right ones, can I just copy the maps in my root of the storage card? I did that before with another Benelux map, but tomtom didn't find any maps...So I think that that Benelux map was for a different version or something.. Can anybody help me with the maps working correctly?
Thnx!

Yep, I knew that it's only worth writing a post to get things working (you even don't have to wait for anyone's answer!). So, if anybody still has the same problem - try rebooting the phone, the correct port showed up in TomTom, at least in my case.

I have the backlight timeout issue that has been mentioned previously.
If you are in transit to a destination after a while the screen goes black, all you hear are the voice prompts. If you hit any key you go back to the home screen and then have to go back (2sec on back key) to tomtom, wait a few secs for it to find the gps device again and the cycle begins again.
Has anyone figured out how to set and/or disable the screen time-out for application specific settings?
Other than this one issue, everything works perfectly - great job and great instructions - thanks!

Hi all,
can anybody help me? I am using an HTC S730, After messing around a bit with trying to get the fake cursor working(I first had another version than the version which came along with the download)
Then I followed the how to install tt6 (rtf file) carefully but now I am stucked at the map issue. I tried to install the maps in my documents (device storage memory), in my documents on the SD Card(made a new map and called it my documents). It didn't work. I have also tried to rename the map files, but this didn't work either. I have read this entire topic but none of the previous answers seems to be working for me, Am I doing something wrong? Did I miss out of something?
I also have (desperately) tried to copy maps in device memory/my documents/tomtom but this did not work either.
I don't know what to do, I hope anyone can help me!

Install Mortscript and unzip my file and put it in directory Mortscript (program file where you install the prog. it's the directory where you found "autorun.exe"). Copy/paste the "Tomtom full" (not the exe or mrc) in \Windows\Start Menu.
enjoy ;)
This is not my script. This is a script i complete for my use.

use my last script in this post.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407276&page=6
It's for tt6 and tt7 under wm6 (not wm6.1).
the reason of your problem is because there's is a time out in the home screen setting (10 mn by default in standard rom) not from smarttoolkit.
hope it work's for you.
I don't use smarttoolkit so i can't help you more (i'm under wm6.1 and this soft freeze my phone :()
be sure you have correctly way for tomtom (mine is storage card). you can change with a text editor.

I cant seem to install maps, no matter what I try...
I've tried putting the maps in the root folder of my SD card, in seperate folders etc etc
Any tips? The install ran fine, ran the first config but now it just says no maps available...

give SYGIC MCGUIDER (http://navigation.teleatlas.com/en/shop/hotitem/sygic-mcguider-europe-2009-sd-card-pr6648.html) a try... great piece of software and virtually the same as tom tom
Works perfect without a touch screen very nicely priced too.
