Hi all,

I have successfully unlocked and flashed my phone with the HTC Rom together with the french (newer) radio ROM. The problem I am having is that Google Maps cant connect to the internal GPS. I have set the port to com 1 and have manually set this in google maps too but this (same as automatic) doesnt seem to work. Has anyone tried this and/or got it to work ? If yes, what settings did you use?

sorry, this should have belonged into the normal kaiser forum not the upgrading one... admins please move :) thanks !!!!

I also had some trouble initially getting Google maps to display GPS info. First of all, I'd set the Track Location settings back to Automatic/Windows Managed. Next, make sure you're in a location that can receive a decent GPS signal and stand still.... I'm usually able to acquire a signal within 10-20 seconds. To know whether or not the GPS receiver has in fact kicked on, watch the indicator light on the upper right side. It should blink blue-orange-blue-orange over and over indicating that the GPS is active.

Three things. First try the search button - This question has been asked God knows bow many times and answered as many.

Second by changing the com port on your GPS you may have necessitated a hard reset - there is a posting here and on modaco that says playing with the com ports screws the GPS till hard reset. (use search to find it here)

Three - if thats not the case then its a know issue with google maps - you have to start another GPS program and aquire a fix that way - then google maps will work fine. Google doesnt allow enough time for a fix itself.

You will also find that it's Com 4, NOT Com1
