Try this on your Excalibur:
Establish connection with BT headset
Dial voice number
Activate WIFI at the same time
Did you hear any crackling and noise in your BT headset?

i'll try this a bit later when i get the chance, but isn't it common to have some interference if data is transmitting for both since they're both operating on 2.4ghz? also, what headset are you using? bt 1.2 should be better than 1.1

Well, I don't have this problem with TyTn.
I've tried Nokia BH 900 and Jabra JX10 - both 2.0

I'm glad i saw this thread. I'm having the same issue. I cannot stream music to my motorola ht820 bluetooth stereo headset if i use wifi. It just keeps stopping and freaks out on me. I was having issues streaming videos to my dash via wifi and using the headset also. I could not stream 100kbps videos over wifi! I thought the phone just wasn't powerful enough. (although it's not.. I could stream 300kbps videos on my old hp 3615 via wifi fine.)
I just was able to stream a video at 300kbps fine without bluetooth turned on using wifi and it worked fine. Grr!!

BT and wifi both use the same frequency.
I think you shoud try an other channel for the wifi. It may solve your problem.

I am not subscribing to the data service on my cellular net. I only want to be able to access the net and email when I am in range of my WAP at home/work or at my favorite hot spots. I've got the WiFi settings so that I am connecting to my WAP and can see the SSID when it connects.. I've tried adjusting the settings in the IE options and am at the point where once in a while (1 out of 8 or so ) I can open access one page of a web site.. but can not navigate any further. If I type a different URL in it says locating and loading then times out.... what did I miss???
T-Mobile Dash / Re-ROM-ed to Excaliber.
All other functions seem to be OK.
Thanks, XmP

I've seen this as well. Playing around earlier today, I installed Opera Mini. Opera works fine over wifi or edge. I believe that the issue involves one or more IE bugs involving either the size (fragmentation?) of cache and/or scripts.
Also, Opera Mini isn't a solution (yet) either. It works great once installed and launched from the installer - but has to be uninstaller and reinstalled to work after you exit.
I can't wait for a linux port :)

I run into this problem all the time at my college and at my home. I turn on my wifi and the phone defaults to the network instead of wifi. I am on cingular with the 8125, I was using I/S PL 1.08 i just updated to cingular rom 2.24.10.1 WWE. I have tried IE, Opera, Mozilla (Minimo) and another i forget the name of. In all I preferred Opera but I feel Mozilla will be the best once the bugs are gone.
Oh yah and when I try and connect to the wifi network at my school they require a redirect to login through bluesocket. That is just too difficult for my little wizard and I rarely get through that system.

Anyone had experience with the external antenna jack on the back of the Dash (under the mirror button)? Just wondering if using this connector would improve performance on WiFi? or is it designed only for GSM reception?
I found a cable which fits the connector perfectly. Thanks for your responses.

yes, it is possible to change these settings (or at least the IP adress). I have read about it, but can't remeber where. It's possible to chnge it somewhere in the registry, can't be changed directly through settings. If I find it, where I read about it, I will post it here ...

As I remember the external is designed for car holder external antenna, not for WiFi. You may find at most of the GSM mobile back also have this.

This was posted over at howardforums too. What, you didn't search the internet endlessly to find an answer? :D
Above poster is correct, it's for GSM only. Like I said over at HoFo, unless you're lost in the backwoods, I don't think it's going to help much. Plus, it looks a tad silly!

Thanks for all your responses. Yeah, I posted the question in a couple of forums (the level of expertise varies widely, as you know!).
Reason I asked... we want to be able to access realtime weather conditions while at a remote nature facility on a barrier island here on the West Coast of Florida -- you know, like hurricanes :) There is a weak WiFi signal from an access point about 1/4 mile away. I simply wanted to establish a stronger link by using an external antenna.
So although it might have looked silly, it was to be a quick fix for instant weather updates (like radar), when needed.

Hi, with my stock htc s620, establishing a connection to a wifi network that is already saved (home & work), takes around 1 to 2 mins.
What often happens also is that it goes to sleep before even connecting (with me waiting in IE or mail to clic on a favorite or do a send & receive action).
I can't understand this since a nokia n80 will take seconds and it's almost instantaneous on my macbook.
Are there any tricks or software that can accelerate this (unless I'm the only one to have this problem)?
Xunil2006
27th February 2007, 12:17 PM
Seems to be a problem of your hardware or a configuration problem. I have energy save mode enabled and usually it takes two or three seconds to connect, sometimes up to ten seconds, if it has extremly low WiFi-Signal.
florentp
27th February 2007, 02:43 PM
interesting, I'm going to investigate on the software part first... You really think it could be a hardware issue?
What's sure is that once the connection is established, it's fast and doesn't drop.
BTW, do you mean seconds after the handset is waken up from sleep?
Hum, after looking in my Remove section on my handset, nothing appears, is there some kind of registry cleaner for smartphone?

Try SK Tools lite, its free: http://s-k-tools.com/index.html?sktools/m_lite.html
I had have an MDA Pro (Jasjar) before and something in the WiFi Hardware was broken, first it took ages to connect and later it didn't recognize the WiFi hardware anymore.
Try SK Tools, if it doesn't help, try to hardreset your device.

Ok, thanks for the tool, I didn't know it. A hard reset did the trick.
It now takes around 5 seconds to connect.
I'm also wondering if the number of wifi AP that have been memorised has an influence on this point.

I cannot get my dash to automatically connect to my wifi network when I turn wifi on via the connection manager. Wifi turns on and then it just says "Wifi: Available" on the home screen, and I have to go into the list of wifi networks and choose my network and press connect.
I have WEP encyption on my network, but the key is saved in the dash so that shouldn't be a problem. It used to automatically connect under wm5.
I've been using the wm6 beta since its release, and it works great aside from this problem.
Any ideas?

Wow, so I think I posted too soon. I just found a solution to this problem.
In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> ContrlPanel -> Wifi there is a registry entry called PreferAutomaticKey that in the wm6 beta is set to 0. Setting this value to 1 makes my dash autoconnect to my protected network. Hopefully this helps someone suffering from the same problem.

I've noticed this too with my home wifi network. The weird thing is that the wifi network at work does autoconnect with no problems. That leads me to believe that it's not handling WEP security on my home network well, because we have a wide-open free wifi network at work (it's outside our firewall, so it's okay).

Once my phone goes 'idle', it starts beeping if connected to wifi. There doesn't seem to be a set time to the beeps, as it will sometimes beep 30 seconds after, and then sometimes a minute after that.

I've been searching for a way to shut this notification down too. The timing is directly related to your wifi setting that controls how long after the lcd times out that wifi will shutdown.

Actually, it's so simple you'll wanna shoot yourself.
None of the registry keys will stay permanantly if you change it to OFF, so just create a short 1 second SILENT .wav file on your PC, rename it to default.wav, and copy it to your /windows folder.
No more beeping.
Oh, you can make a copy of the original file if you want for backup.
THIS ALSO WORKS FOR THE ANNOYING BEEP WHEN A CALL IS INITIATED.
That file is called callstart.wav

You guys need to remember something important about data, whether it is wired or wireless.
The best way to illustrate what I am about to say is with a real world example:
Let's say you download a 1MB text (.txt) file over whatever broadband connection you want. So assume it is wireless in this case. Most if not all data transfer protocols have some built in method to compress the data that they are fed. In the case of the text file, that 1MB can be compressed into say, 300KB. On the other hand, let's look at a 1MB video file. These files are already compressed by whatever codec was used to create them. Unless it is a raw .avi file, it is pretty much impossible for the data protocol to compress it further. To see this for yourself, try zipping a txt file and similar sized video file and see how small their file sizes are afterward. The video file will barely change in size.
The quoted theoretical rates are usually attainable for uncompressed files but not for those that are pre-compressed. So when u download a text file or html page you will typically get higher throughputs than video.
In short, yes those rates quoted are possible but not for the slingbox :)
Cheers,
J

and my S621 is even OVERCLOCKED to 240 Mhz ...still sluggish ... which is making me think that the WI-FI built in is not really capable :confused:

Here's an interesting discovery I made tonight.
I decided to try a demo of Datviz's roadsync app.
I downloaded it, installed it, but when I tried to put in my mail2web exchange account, it wouldn't verify the connection, and contiue on to the serial nmber and registration pag.
Oh well, I thought, I guess it doesn't work on my phone.
Then, by chancee, I realised that Push email was working via wifi, with regular data connection turned off. I check active sync settings, and it too says it's connected.
So, it now seems I can use proper push email via WiFi.
Very cool for those who pay thru the nose for data usage, like me.

is it for the dash? How do you setup the push wifi?
Henchman
17th June 2007, 07:27 PM
What I've done on my phone is simply left off the last letter of the GPRS config tool so it now reads: Internet.co
This prevents it from actually hooking up to the GPRS network.
I then turn on my wifi, go to activesync, and sync. After it syncs, it stays connected to my wifi network, and gives me instant push email.
No need to use wifisync anymore.
Now, if you want a push exchange account, go to mail2web, sign up for their $2,- plan. This will allow you to respond to emails and it will
show as if it come from the email address the original email was sent to. Instead of the response reading user@mail2web.com
Once you have a mail2web account, if you go into the email settings, you can click on a menu that will give you all the info you need to
connect to the proper exchange acccont.
You enter that info under the activesync server settings on your compuer.
And your done.

Hello, I recently purchased an HTC S621 from my local Centennial Wireless store, it is running WM5 and ROM 1.19.422.2 and radio version 4.1.13.34_02.79.90. I very happy with it except for the fact that it has painfully slow wifi performance even when connected to my 802.11g network at home. It maxes out at maybe 8kBps and that is using mobile IE, mini opera and opera mobile. It does this where ever I am in my house and my computers have no problem running at over 4.2mbps even at the far reaches of reception. I'm running with just the default wifi settings as i don't know how to chance anything other then the encryption key. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

wifi is bad in that device. thats a fact.
and it is only b. so it does not matter if your access point is g or n.
you can go to the com manager and then press the right softkey (below the screen) and select wifi settings. go to power options and select best performance. that helps a little bit. but still the fact remains, that the wlan in that device is bad.

You may need to configure the WiFi settings (i.e., turn on available network notifications, networks to access) if you are not connecting to a specific AP at your work or home.
Also, check the Advanced Settings in Connections -- if you set Internet connections to Automatic it is supposed to use WiFi rather than data when you have WiFi turned on.

Running German WM6 ROM I have noticed that leaving Wifi on seems to kill my phone service. (Where my provider was showing up it will show "No Service")
ie,
If I am using Wifi for ~1hr; it is a good chance that my phone radio no longer works.
I haven't been able to find a workaround, and require rebooting the phone.
Any insight or similar experiences?

I was told to send the phone to the nearest service center. I had to send the phone back to T-Mobile any way, T-Mobile has now sent me a brand new Dash, now I have two.

btw, u guys should thank day_mayhem for his scraficies. Actually, his device is very closed to be bricked...

Excalibur Wifi unbrick procedure
======================
1. make a dump of bk_02_0005.img on your sd card with bkondisk (a howto is in this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1416739&postcount=2) under Update4)
2. open bk_02_0005.img in a hexeditor
3. select a block of 0x300 bytes at offset 0x83C00 and clear this area (i.e. fill it with bytes with value 0x00)
4. search for following 4 bytes from the start of the file: 5012EE00 (usually found at offset 0x47E00)
5. select a block of 0x1B9 bytes from this offset and copy them to 0x83E00 (overwrite bytes, do not insert them)
6. save the changed bk_02_0005.img
7. open both the files splash5-gsmmfgdata.nbh and bk_02_0005.img in a hexeditor
8. from bk_02_0005.img select a block of 0x20000 bytes from offset 0x80000
9. copy these 0x20000 bytes to offset 0x220 of splash5-gsmmfgdata.nbh (overwrite bytes, do not insert them)
10. save the changed splash5-gsmmfgdata.nbh
11. flash ExcaIMG_USPL_1110000unsigned.nbh (standard USPL)
12. flash USPL1.11-patch-GsmMfgData.nbh (phone automatically starts in tri-color mode)
13. flash splash5-gsmmfgdata.nbh (phone automatically starts in tri-color mode)
14. unplug usb and pull out battery and put it back and replug usb
15. flash ExcaIMG_USPL_1110000unsigned.nbh (standard USPL)
16. boot phone
17. if "NO SIM" or not booting flash RUU_signed-with-uspl.nbh here (http://rapidshare.com/files/59295715/RUU_signed-with-uspl.zip.html)
(Note: make sure WiFiInit.lnk is in the startup folder of your device, otherwise Windows Mobile will not start WiFi)

There should be only one flash file in the RUU flash utility directory. The file you want to flash has extension .nbh

Just download Hex Workshop here: http://www.bpsoft.com/downloads/hw32v31.exe
Then do "CTRL+G" (selecting HEX and beginning of file) to jump to the mentioned offset (just the part after 0x).
Then select "Edit > Select Block" (selecting HEX and Size of Block) and enter the number of bytes you are supposed to select (again, just the part after 0x)
The Statusbar at the bottom also displays the offset and the selected bytes, you can use those also.

prun bkondisk.exe "\Storage Card"
1c) Copy \Storage Card\bk_02_005.img into a local directory for editing.
2) open bk_02_0005.img in a hexeditor (You must use Hex Workshop or the next steps won't make sense).
3) Press <CTRL>+G to bring up the Goto box. Make sure that the radio button for "HEX" and "beginning of file" are selected.
3a) Type 83C00 in the Offset field and press the Go button.
3b) Select "Edit -> Select Block" from the menu bar. Make sure that the radio buttons "HEX" and "Size of Block" are selected.
3c) Type 300 in the Block field and press the OK button.
3d) Select "Edit -> Fill" (or press <CTRL>+<INS>) to bring up the Fill Bytes dialog box.
3e) There should be a "0" in the "Fill with the following hex byte:" option. Press the OK button.
4) Press <CTRL>+G to bring up the Goto box.
4a) Type 47E00 in the Offset field and press the Go button.
5) Select "Edit -> Select Block" from the menu bar.
5a) Type 1B9 in the Block field and press the OK button. Copy selected area.
5b) Press <CTRL>+G to bring up the Goto box.
5c) Type 83E00 in the Offset field and press the Go button.
5d) Select "Edit -> Select Block" from the menu bar.
5e) Type 1B9 in the Block field and press the OK button.
5f) Right-click and paste copied area. Make sure you didn't insert the bytes.
6) Save the changed bk_02_0005.img
7) Open both the files splash5-gsmmfgdata.nbh and bk_02_0005.img in Hex Workshop.
8) From bk_02_0005.img press <CTRL>+G to bring up the Goto box. Type 80000 select 0x20000 bytes from offset 0x80000
9. copy these 0x20000 bytes to offset 0x220 of splash5-gsmmfgdata.nbh (overwrite bytes, do not insert them, like the above steps)
10. save the changed splash5-gsmmfgdata.nbh
11. flash ExcaIMG_USPL_1110000unsigned.nbh (standard USPL)
12. flash USPL1.11-patch-GsmMfgData.nbh (phone automatically starts in tri-color mode)
13. flash splash5-gsmmfgdata.nbh (phone automatically starts in tri-color mode)
14. unplug battery and put it back
15. flash ExcaIMG_USPL_1110000unsigned.nbh (standard USPL)
16. boot phone
I'd also recommend (for noobs and pros alike) to create three directories. Put each USPL (3 of them) in a separate directory. Copy the following files into each directory:
EnterBootloader.exe
rapitool.exe
ROMUpdateUtility.exe
RUUGetInfo.exe
RUUResource.dll
We call this staging. This way steps 11, 12, 13, and 15 won't seem so confusing. The above files listed can be taken from the ROM image flash utility (the one that you used to originally flash your s620 to WM6).
I hope these steps help. I was one of the first to break my phone, and I'm greatful for all of jockyw2001's and da_mayhem's work. Don't forget to throw some money towards jockyw2001 for his help.

Why does everyone have to go through the steps to flash ur DASHES? I just downloaded Jocky's file Ecalibur-Wifi-repair.zip on page 2 of this thread then followed steps 11-15 in his instructions. Mine is working perfectly now. with WiFi, of course. Am I doing something wrong here?

Yes, it would be nice to test this, but I'm afraid it may not work because afaik there is OTP in the device which is checked against the GsmMfg and Simlock data. Drop me a PM with your MSN address and we can start some tests. Make sure you have a bkondisk backup (4MB).

I got this dash used. Everything works on it but the wifi says no driver loaded. This was only forum I found that had anything on it. Since I have followed all of these instructions and methods you have given us I am wandering if I have a hardware problem? If the wifi was broken would the drivers still load?
on the boot screen I have this:
Excalibur Pv Wifi
ONBL 1.22.0000
SPL 1.11.0000 SPE MFG
GSM 02.79.90
bme8a SIM=0
SIM 3.0v
I believe thats all that was on it. That screen dont stay on long enough to write it all down.
If there is anything special I should do to make the drivers load besides having the shortcut in the startup folder and the exe in the windows folder please let me know. Everything else works on this phone. It was like this when I got it. I did not attempt to load a Rogers rom or do any kind of cid bypass to cause this. It was this way when I got it. Without wifi this phone is useless to me.

hmm good question. I know for a fact that you can tether your Dash via USB to your laptop and use the phone's EDGE connection for internet. I've done it before, but not with the wifi. Give it a go and try connecting your dash with your USB cable, then on your phone in the accessories folder, and run Internet Sharing. Post back your results! i'm curious.

I was browsing the net today at a coffeehouse. I first turned on the wifi and made sure the data was off (I don't pay for internet so it's a per-Kb charge. Yuk.)
After surfing a bit, I went to turn WiFi off and saw that it was already off - and data was ON. I assume that IE couldn't find a WiFi signal and decided to use Data connection instead.
How do I prevent it from doing this? Basically, if there is no WiFi signal available, I'd rather it just not connect at all that would use it.

If you don't plan to use Data Connection at all, delete all the GPRS/EDGE Settings on Start - Settings - Connections - GPRS
The SIM won't be able to connect to the Internet since there will be no GPRS settings stored on the phone..

There is a free tool called "NoData" (see this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1578907&postcount=122)) that you can install to switch GPRS on/off at will.
If you're worried about missing inbound MMS messages, any sent to you will be held on your providers' servers until you switch GPRS back on - up to the validity period of MMS messages, probably 3 days or more!!
If you're running the HTC Home screen, you can assign NoData to one of the quick launch buttons, so it'll be easy to get to whenever you want to turn off your GPRS connection.
Just a though, might be worth a look ;)

I believe what your asking is to allow your computer to be hooked to the dash and using the dash as a modem?
If that is the case, then it's really simple.
u just have the usb connector, and start internet sharing program on WM6.
I believe that it is a program on WM6 so you may have to upgrade your rom. but that is what i used and it works.
i am able to connect my computer to the internet using my dash as a modem. :)
u need to have the internet service active of course.
***so here i am not talking of having the dash dial up a number to connect you to a dial up internet service provider....

I keep getting an error when I try to use nodata.
However, I've been using a totally ghetto alternative method. Unless I need to send/recieve using MMS/Data, I edit my MMSC settings and add '-deleteme' to the end of my gateway. (wap.cingular.com-deleteme) so that it errors out and cant connect. When I want to send a mms, i just remove that bit.
Hey, it works. :)

K, I was actually playing around with it the other night and got this part working. The speed was acceptible especially if you're in a remote location without traditional internet access.
I wanted to take the internet access thing a little further. I'm wondering if there's a way to use the dash as a higher speed modem not over EDGE but over WIFI.
Like lets say you don't have WIFI access on your personal computer/laptop per se but are tethering the Dash which does have built-in WIFI to tap into lets say your neighbor's internet connection (assuming its not encrypted of course) or a nearby wifi connection so you can have a faster internet access speed vs using the EDGE connection if that makes sense...

Make sure you only have one connection defined.
Make sure it points to the WAP network.
Set this for MMS under MMS settings.
Make sure there is no Proxy defined.
In IE Options Connections make sure it says "Internet' and disable 'detect settings'
IE will try to route to the internet and not find a route unless WiFi is on.

Here’s how I’d deal with the bill surpriser.
For me, I use Edge for msft Push/check in lightly for lunch & commute.
In GPRS settings I created new blank entry called WiFi & set it for internet.
Change providers to connect to work or vice versa.
Have IE or whatever data seeking app use that WiFi blank entry.
Alternatively change providers server name. ex. Provider.com to provider.CON
However, using push will auto kick in data/edge, etc. Rebooting device auto disables WiFi.
I use smartphone GPRS traffic monitor to police & can work con manager in sleep.
Meh, now that’s just me.

I set the wifi with the one at home (WEP - OPEN) and enable the IP... going to the CONNECTION MANAGER the Dash recognize pretty well the network.. but there's no access to internet (any link will probably connect quick and download the first page.. but then any link will stop.. and from there forget about internet... that's all!!).

I ran into something similar on my Dash. After months of running fine and going between WiFi & Edge with no problems, I "suddenly" couldn't connect to WiFi at home. In my efforts to fix it I ended up really messing it up worse. I ended up just doing some google searches on the proxy settings and reapplying them all. As for my home WiFi network, I ended up having to reconfigure some of the "lease" settings (from 99 days down to 1 day) and that took care of the connectivity problems.

As soon as I changed this setting, I was off and away at almost alarming speed. Pictures of space shuttle and of prostate cysts all over the place. Hurrah! And as soon as I did that the router could see me too. So that would seem to have solved it completely.
AND VOILA!!

"Not a fix... DO NOT USE!!!"
I just wanted to apologize for the inconvenience and frustration I caused by uploading a bad corrupted file. I had good intentions to help out w/ the wifi issue. I found this .cab file from another site and I admit I never personally tested it, since im running t-mobiles oem wm6 rom with minor tweaks, for future reference this won't ever happen again.
PS: I'll remove the .cab file asap! Can someone personally upload a rollback fix for those who installed this bad file. Again my apologize to all...

Hey man, i appreciate the post, as i have an Elf and i m pretty much having some problems connecting my Elf to my Acer Laptop WiFi. I dont know if its pretty much a problem with my Laptop, but one thing i know is that my Elf is just 1 month old and it connects to my friend's NEC Laptop WiFi and works well too. So would be great what issues this driver you have posted corrects or atleast does?? Thankx :cool:

I upgraded to the Rogers WM6 on my unbranded S621. For a while everything was working great then the wifi stopped working. The first time I turn the phone on it sees the wireless networks, and it'll connect and work for a short time then drop out and lose all connections, it won't see any of the networks that are available. I tried a hard reset, but to no avail. Any ideas?

First go to Start> Comm Manager> Settings> Wi-Fi> Power Mode and set the {power save mode} to "Best performance", check mark the box! Ok, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> COMM> TNETWLN1> Parms> HTCPreloadWifi = 0 Set DWORD Data to 1 ......! Soft reset your device! Also go to the \Windows\StartUp folder and see if you see a folder named "WiFiInit".. If worst comes to worst, put the old ROM back in your device, the reinstall the new ROM again.......!

Hello!

Do anybody know if it has an WiFi Chip or how
you can update the rom to get WiFi runing?
What can I do that my WiFi will run???

Hi,
I've recently updated my S620 to WM6.
One of the issues I've bumped into is that from time to time my network settings for wireless networks disappear. I haven't been able to determine what causes it, but after 24hrs I've lost them. The problem only seems to affect secured networks.
Setting the power save mode to 'best performance' appears to resolve it, but that drains the battery.
Any suggestions?
Cheers! Mike

Same story for me. Just bought it off eBay. Exact same error. But I also notice an extra line with a date on it. And my GSM string is 02.48.90.
Excalibur Pv Wifi
ONBL 1.22.0000
SPL 1.11.0000 SPE MFG
GSM 02.48.90
Sep 26, 2006
bme8a SIM=0
SIM 3.0v
Also, when trying to follow the steps prescribed to fix the error, I notice that the 0x300 bytes that I initially copy, do not seem to cover a complete chunk of information. It seems to be cutting a string "TI Test" midway. I am not sure if that's intended.

I have no problem with TM before or after WiFi connections, only during.

Hi!
My suggestion is to back up everything and do a hard reset. This will probably fix it. Wifi driver settings are stored in the registry and so fixing them manually can be a bit of a pain. If you're interested, standard wifi settings look something like this:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\TNETWLN]
"ImagePath"="tnetwln.dll"
"Group"="NDIS"
"DisplayName"="Wireless LAN Adapter"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\TNETWLN\Linkage]
"Route"=hex(7):54,4e,45,54,57,4c,4e,31,00,00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\TNETWLN1]
"Wireless"=dword:00000001
"ImagePath"="tnetwln.dll"
"Group"="NDIS"
"DisplayName"="Wireless LAN Adapter"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\TNETWLN1\Parms]
"HTCPreloadStatus"=dword:00000000
"HTCAutoOffInterval4NoActivity"=dword:0000ea60
"HTCAutoOffIfNoActivityEnable"=dword:00000001
"InstanceNumber"=dword:00000000
"HTCResumeWifiAfterReset"=dword:00000000
"HTCAutoOffWifiTime"=dword:00007530
"HTCPreloadWifi"=dword:00000001
"LEAPEnabled"=dword:00000001
"dot11ElpType"=dword:00000002
"HTCPowerMode"=dword:00000000
"Sysintr"=dword:0000002b
"BusType"=dword:00000000
"BusNumber"=dword:00000000
These can be checked out with one of the many regedit programs around (check out this forum) - I recommend this:

Good luck man ;)

My wifi is acting weird...
It starts fine, and I can connect no problem, but after 30 seconds or so it shuts off and then a couple seconds later starts back up again.
Is this a known problem?
I did use jockeys CID unlock to flash the latest HTC ROM to the phone, but my understanding was that he had fixed the wifi issue.
Any help would be much appreciated.

thanks grim. i ALMOST said that i checked that already, figureing you were talking about the literal wifi settings. since i had it set to never disconnect with no activity, i figured i was good to go. a quick double check though and i saw the power management option in the wifi settings and sure enough, it was set to power down the wifi 10 seconds after the screen shut off (which is set to 30 seconds).
all fixed now!
thanks again!

Hi there,
When I enable WiFi on my S620 I can litteraly see the battery meter going down. When I'm surfing on WiFi for about 10 Minutes or so, the battery is already halfway depleted. Is this normal or is there anything I can do to increase the battery life when using WiFi.
Thanks for your insight.

In WLAN options, go to Power Mode, then choose best battery.;)

Hard to find a happy center. Best battery usually results in lost connections unless you are real close to the source for wifi. Best performance drains the battery quickly, but provides a good connection.

Hi all,
I have a T-Mobile branded DASH and I was having issues connecting to my WIFI. Every time I tried to connect, it would spit my WEP key out and ask for it again. I searched this forum (great job, btw) and howardforums but nobody had the right solution. I read info. about issues concerning linksys router WRT54G (which is what I have). I also read about broken wifi hardware. But I was reading available networks, my DASH was simply not connecting with the WEP key. After many hours, I decided to try going to WPA (TKIP). And to my comfort, it worked. I am now connected.
Does anybody know why my DASH would connect via WPA over WEP? Was my WEP settings wrong? I had it on 64bit10hex encrypt and matched the key to the keyindex.

I'm looking to tether using USB-Wifi and not EDGE. WMWifiRouter uses the phone Wifi to transmit to other Wifi, while my PC is connected straight to the phone. What does that have to do with WMWifiRouter??? Two completely different things, this program would be useless to me.

Hi, i've been reading this forum for a few months now I personally own a Kaiser and my dad owns a dash, he got the dash with no wi-fi and with WM6, I'm assuming that the previous owner flashed to WM6 and lost WiFi anyhow I found this thread a little bit old, don't really know where to seek help, I've done all this steps i beleive correctly, and from step 11 and on I have no clue.
In step 11 when it says standard USPL what does that mean? should I flash using the jump spl 1.11 or use the one with haret.exe?. I've been doing it with jump spl and sda unlock in the first 2 steps then after the second tri color screen (step 14) says unplug usb remove battery, done that but when i start the phone again its still in tri color screen so i can't do "Standard USPL". Anyways i still run the RUU update then phone reboots normal mode no white nor tri-color scree sad enough when it gets back there is still no wifi... I've done this process about 5 times just making sure i'm not wrong. But still i think I'm missing out something, can anyone help?
Many Thanks in advance

Hi guys, have you tried setting up a WiFi connection using a static ip on the kavana wm6.1 rom?
I've seen that under
Settings -> Connections -> WLAN Settings -> Connection Status -> Menu -> IP Address
you can insert your ip, the subnet end the gateway but seems that it doesn't work for me.
After setting up everything I can connect successfully but the ip shown isn't the one I've set.
