WM6 je rychlejsi a stabilnejsi (mene restartu nez u WM5). U tehle neoriginalni jsou ale problemy s BT, GPRS, MMS. Takze jestli chces surfovat, nedoporucuji, zustan u WM5. Sam mam T810 a jsem s ni spokojeny. Horsi u tohohle typu displeje je, ze pokud si chces nainstalovat aplikace, vetsina je na rozmer 240x320 a na ctvercovem LCD budes mit usekly spodek. Jako mp3 prehravac, navigace a surfovaci engina je T810 prima. Jestli budu menit, tak az prijde fakt nejaka bomba. Zkousel jsem synchro s Linuxem Ubuntu, ale neuspel jsem. ActiveSync pres wokna funguje skvele jak pres kolebku, tak i pres BT

There is a chance to have an Italian ROM with WM6 ?

One question (OT):
I've got a lot of trouble to obtain satellite FIX when I use the GPS (either GPS locator or TT6) with the original WM5 ROM.

In open space I need to wait more than 30 minutes to have Fix and some times Fix it's impossible.
Few times the Fix time take less than 3 minutes.
I think that this fix times aren't normally.
I can make some tries or I've got a defective unit ?

- removed FSC stuff again
- removed other apps i don't use
- added optional OEM Apps:

- Keyboard language selectable (ger/eng) by copying everything from keyboard-drivers\xxx-driver directly into the main dir (eng is default)

Hello, I am currently using this software and I am very satisfied.
However, I have noticed some errors so far:

-- Bluetooth Headset does not work for the phone, only to listen Windows Sounds
-- 3G may not be converted to 2G (if you do not want 3G)
-- Some remnants of FSC software or speedmenu, for example, the menu for the key assignment
-- Office programs not covered, but only in the Start Menu
-- In the phone mode is the hardware buttons (formerly also sheds light blue) do not use (tested with the layout germany)

I have One Big Request for all those who made roms do not apply my patch for SRS because something i fucked up when I added certificates and it causes sometimes problems...shit;/ only apply standard patch(attachment)

yeah I`ve finally found how to create dsm files(not the empty one) xD with files inside this dsm xD i attached one more time patches for 3g and new mail but with dsm files maybe it doesn`t matter but I like to be precise ;)

Another PROBLEM:
Has anybody changed the shortcuts in start menu through settings menu? because I did... and guess what? It`s doesn`t work until I do a soft reset but after it the shortcut shows in start menu but disappears from programs menu...it`s very annoying...and don`t have an idea how to repair this...

Y try to connect HIGHT-QUALITY AUDIO BLUETOOTH STEREO HEADPHONES but T830 say: "Connection failed. Unable to estabilish a connection".
I tray with two differentes headphones, "Motrorola S9" and "Energy System Headphones".

i've extracted from original wm5 rom the dll's, following the core_z schema.
Attached a zip with 3 folders
Keyboard-drivers (eng-driver,ger-driver,ita-driver).
Only have to copy OEM and SYS folders in the kitchen replacing the previous files and then compile the rom.
Obviously have to test...

What kind of backup sw are on the Core_z rom ? Any suggestion on how to choose one ?

I do not know what I am doing wrong. In the first Beta version I was able to put in place the Spanish keyboard with the usual exchange of drivers.

I tried by all means ( SD flash and FS flash tool... ) doing the same operation in this new Beta, but without success! Drivers are from the wm5 ROM.

Anyone know what could be wrong ??? :confused:

I am sorry to post again, but i dont really know how to bring my t830 to wm6. I have read all 28 pages :D but my english is very bad so i didnt understand a lot. Keybord driver, cooking, spliting and so on...:confused:

My t830 has lates wm5 official software (english). i unrar the filefile from core_z and there are folders like OEM, SYS, Flashtool, ROM, Keyboarddrivers and so on.

I dont know what to do next.

Is it enough to use the mdoc.dio file on a sd-card and do the flash described in the pages before or do i have to configure anything. Is it possible to create howtodo paper in german, where step by step is explained what to do or maybe some one can write me an email .

I am so confused.

I have problems flashing via USB.
Normal mode doesn't work, cause I have a german T830, I think.
Recovery usb flash mode doesn't work cause it gets no connection.

Is this a problem caused by vista?

Very nice beta... But I have few questions please:

first, why our WM6 doesn't have all stuff like other phones like the Big cloak on home screen or program icons??:confused: (Because I've tested many and relized that they have built in plugins from WM6).

second, some icons remains the same as old WM5 even tho they look differ on other devices with WM6 on.

third, Bluetooth problem remains, i still can't connect to my Creative headset, anyway i can fix that?

Ok here we go, Beta 3 release from wm6fsc result.

1- better RAM speed and more RAM as well.
2- MMS works fine.
3- Device don't hang as much as Beta 2.

Disadvantages :

1- Device Can't wake up from stand by mode even with SRS Patch from some guy in here.
2- Many Memory (RAM) errors:( , so; many programs cant run and says: ( Cannot Open"e.g. Garmin XT , A critical component is either missing or cannot start because program memory is unavailable . tap start > settings> system Tab > Memory and stop programs that did not stop automatically )

Other than that, all works fine, keyboard( I use Arabic keyboard layout and it's working perfectly) .

I wish some one can add 3G Icon and Newmail.exe patchs into a new ROM so we can use it easly.

:( I hope some one replay about these stuff in the new Beta and how to fix it or Just stay with beta 2 because it's stable. -Fearkillerr

But ive got problem, when I turn off device I lost my connection, and there is no phoneconfig in rom.
what should be best way to solve? use some third party product? like E2C manager?
or install phone config to device?

About SRS, when I had Beta 2 from wm6Fsc I didn't have a problem with stand by mode. It was enabled and with BT on and everything was wonderful. I think there is something wrong not that SRS don't work with WM6. you guys should do more research to find to problem I guess. thanks

www.SRSlabs.com It's under System settings, a program to enhance sound quality for Device and head phones e.g. gives sround sound over stereo headphones . It has a Blue Puls icon. :rolleyes:

I am too slow to catch up with the speed of your development!

I tested wm6fsc beta 2 for about 1 week.

I successively added:
- SHDC 777 patch
- reg from WM6 without SRS.zip from bobson4 post #261 (They did not seem to solve the A2DP connection problem.)
- SRS_WOWHD_ARM cert.cab from bobson4 post #227 (this one did seem to make A2DP work)

My experience with this install is that the phone is globally stable. It sometimes freezes, it's not perfect but it's usable.

Internet connection wizard works great. Network connection parameters were set automatically. I just had to do minor adjustments, copy paste of proxy address for WAP. It helps a lot.

I can send MMS. There are some troubles I did not have in previous versions but this is expected in this version.

UMTS browsing works with Internet Explorer.

FSC speed menu is great to turn off the device.

The best of all:
Transcend SDHC 16GB works like a charm with A2DP!

QuickGPS downloads but does it help?

I found solution for my problem - afted flashing new ROM from SD card >>hard reset is needed<<. (hold poweroff and press reset button for a 3 second)

After this I choosed "Boot to default" and new ROM has been successfully booted. Now I have WM6 running well.

I am waiting for new Beta3 release guys. :-)

I've flashed the T830 phone with this Beta 3 WM6 ROM from my memory card and the phone does not boot anymore.
Flash procedure went fine, got green progress bar and "Programming flash done", did restart and after that i only get boot Photo of the man with yellow tend.
I tryed flashing back original MDOC.DIO, same thing. Tryed several flashes, no success.

I can get to menu with "Restore to factory settings, Clean Registry..." but whatever i choose i get the same result, photo with no text Firmware revision like before.

did you empty the sd-Card before you copied the Rom Files on it? It sometimes doesnt work if there are many files on the card.

You can flash via USB. Press and Hold RED+CAMERA then RESET. Then connect the phone fast to USB, THEN release RED+CAMERA. Now you should get in NEW USB DOWNLOAD MODE.

Now start the flash tool. It searchs the phone. Let it search. It will _not_ find the phone and switchs over to Flash recovery mode. This should work then.

Try it from XP not from Vista, I didnt was avle to flash under Vista.

my problem is stopping wireless services when i turn off device with red button (way thru FSC profiles -> standby works fine, but its annoying) so my icq and irc are off when I forgot to turn off thru FSC profiles.

another is GSM banking with SIM toolkit app ... :-/

1) when i go to the phone, the keyboard does not function as numeric keyboard. when i press twice the fn key, and i press a number, the system try to look it in the contacts directory.

2) The system doesn't block automatically, as the previous version (PRESS ENTER).

3) With the digit password, the keyboard does not change to numeric keyboard.

4) I can't easily turn on the wi-fi, turn-off the wi-fi, etc.

5) I am looking a contact, for example an address, and i turn off the phone (pressing the red button). When i turn on the phone to continue looking my contact, the screen are in today mode, and, when i press the contact button, i loose the contact that i previously looking for.

Do you mean for the SIM password? I do not have any problem with this.

I did not use wi-fi that much but I can turn wi-fi on and off the Wireless Manager.

Yes. This may be with all applications. When an application is active and you press the red button, a system sound is emitted and reset the active application (?).

Overall beta 3 is stable.
Sending MMS rocks.
At first, SDHC card was not recognized. Actually, It seems to be recognized randomly. When it is recognized, then it works properly.
Browsing with 3G works well.
Sometimes, if you forget to disconnect 3G connection or if it goes in stand by, it hangs.

I failed to found a combination of settings to have A2DP works.
I was probably wrong in my last post on beta 2 feedback.
If I install SRS_WOWHD_ARM cert.cab, it works well but then it fails to return from stand by.
Does someone know how to set A2DP w/ or w/o SRS without the "cannot return from stand by" bug?

Hi guys, thank you very much for your work on this ROM, I have installed Bobson's "clean" ROM, it works great!, I was not able to make GPRS work but I think it's a matter of my settings, Bluetooth, WIFI, Phone, SMS work perfect, however my keyboard do not operate correctly because I was not able to unpack it in order to change keyboard layout to spanish :(, and Core_Z kitchen installs by default SRS I can't remove it from installation and T830 hangs when it is in standby.

I have already extracted keyboard driver from original spanish ROM.

Hi Fedey, here are the steps assuming you already have the ROM image (MDOC.DIO)

Steps:

1.- download and install Core_Z (pags.21 -25) kitchen which already contains FSC flashtool

2.- inside the kitchen locate directory "flashtool" and put MDOC.DIO into that directory

3.- get the pocket loox craddle and connect DC charger and data cable to the craddle, be sure to connect them to the proper USB ports.

4.- do a hard reset (press reset + red button simultaneously), and select "clean boot"

5.- run PocketLoox8xxflashtool.exe

6.- insert the PDA into the craddle

7.- verify activesync creates a connection (no need to create partnership)

8.- flashtool should detect the PDA and start downloading the image to phone

9.- don't worry if it starts transmitting the image to the phone (you will see in the PDA's screen "downloading image") and flash tool says there is an error, just take the PDA do a reset and run from step 5 as nothing has been flashed yet.

10.- once it finishes the transmission, the LOOX will start flashing it, you will see on PDA's screen "flashing image", wait until it finishes (you will see "USB DOWNLOAD SUCCESS")and disconnect loox from craddle.

11.- do another hard reset (clean boot).

flashing went ok. be sure u have activeSync 4.50+ when upgrading from WM5 to WM6 [or u'll get a bit scared, like i did]

1. Office menus didn't showed up until i've reseted to factory defaults

Thats wrong, too. Sometimes it doesnt work, but until now, it didnt brick a device.
The SD card has to be (almost) empty for the flash procedure. I _think_ that some cards are not compatible. But I know that I can SD-Flash with a empty card but I can not SD-Flash with the same card when I have 300MB other files on it.

1) matching N560 COM ports
- exchanged COM6 and COM8 in \hklm\drivers\builtin + active to match N560
- flash program stops with "failed to update gps firmware (3)" message

2) modifying htcgpsupdate.exe
- modified htcgpsupdate.exe in addr #348F (COM8->COM6)
- flash program does not start at all (it has digital signature, damn)

I finally tried to modify
\hklm\system\currentcontrolset\gps intermediate driver\drivers\control panel configuration\CommPort from COM8: to COM6:

I personally got 15 seconds TTF with above mentioned status although navigator NMEA message view says that gps fw is still 3.1.1.. maybe it's huge luck, but please test..

I have tested three ROMs: powerbyte's release from page 25 of this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=336328&page=25), BETA3 and (I think ;)) BETA2 from the first post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=336328).

Under powerbyte's release after installing SDHC patch my 4GB card didn't work. Maybe it was the card's fault, I don't know if anyone had a similar problem. That's why I decided to skip further testing and try different ROM.

So I flashed my LOOX with BETA3 ROM. Similarly, I decided to give up further testing because of one small reason. I really missed FSC Profiles :) It's very trivial and maybe you'll think I'm crazy or picky, but... I've had this PDA for about half a year and I really got used to it. I think that was the only FSC app that I found very useful. I know that you can touch the speaker icon and adjust the ringtone volume, turn it off or set to "Vibrate". Unfortunately that is not enough. It doesn't have the "Visual feedback" option which makes the screen flash and focus your attention.

That's why I decided to go back to the first ROM (BETA2) I started testing two weeks ago. In my opinion it's the best ROM (out of these three). I'm almost sure this is the one, but I'm not completely sure as there were many editions of BETA2 ROM. I mean the one which size is 39 518 720 bytes. What I don't like is that it doesn't have the newmail.exe file. I also didn't like the fact that after pressing the numeric section of the keyboard "Contacts" were activated and letters came up on the screen (instead of digits and the keypad). But now I think it's even better because you can start typing your contacts' names right away, without pressing the "Contacts" button. I think that in most cases you choose the person you're calling to from your phonebook, rather than enter their number directly. And pressing numbers on the touchscreen is even more convenient than pressing those tiny keys ;-)

I had no problems with standby mode, with BT on and off, device doesn't hang up but in my opinion it consumes too much RAM and sometimes it's a little bit slow. I didn't test other ROMs, there are so many of them... Can anybody recommend some ROM to test? But it needs to have FSC Profiles ;-)

And one more question. In one of the posts Robson shared 3G icon and newmail.exe patch. Is it possible to install them after I've flashed my device or it's necessary to build a new ROM and flash the device again?

IMHO, beta3 is the same as beta2 with MMS fixed. MMS works very well with beta3.

I am not so sure what FSC profiles is. But if it is the menu that starts when you do a long push at the red button and which proposes "Complete off", "Outdoor", "Meeting Mode", then I can testify that beta3 from 1st post does have FSC profiles.

In my opinion, beta3 is the best. I am really missing a stable A2DP but there is hope.

+ device is quite stable (couple of lock-ups while resuming but still...)
+ gps is working
- gprs is not working (same as in wm6.0 beta)
- dialpad is white with white numbers (same as in wm6.0 beta)
- left softkey (New SMS) is not working, although SMS sending/receiving actually works
- camera button is not working (btw. hardware based autofocus is implemented in default camera button, that's why pictures are blurry when snapping with center key) (same as in wm6.0 beta)
- sometimes after resuming, device goes back to sleep if no key is pressed within few seconds
- PIE zoom out is awfully slow (but this is just bad "feature")
still great work!!!
- file explorer does not update folder contents after copying/moving file or creating directory (same as in wm6.0 beta)

To get what you want, you have to replace the following dll:

I am trying to substitute those files, which I extracted from the spanish ROM into the kitchen, but they are not working, to extract them, I split MDOC.DIO and then use imgfstodump on MDOC.dio.part2, but without luck, could somebody update this drivers on core_z kitchen OR give detailed instructions to extract.

There are a lot of way for flashing the device,the two more common are described by FSC.
One of the way is:

- Download the latest update from fsc site, decompress and install it, put the device in cardle, and start the PocketLOOX8xxFlashTool
After that have only to read and execute the instuction gived by fsc on the screen.

Another one is:

- Download the latest update from fsc site, decompress and install it, put the device in cardle, and start the PocketLOOX8xxFlashTool,
press camera button + power button, keep it pressed and press with stylus the reset button placed in the bottom of battery. The device
go in "recovery mode" as fsc manual say, and the flashtool start to flash the update.

That are 2 way with nothing of "obscure" or "undocumented", and for more information and screenshot about that procedure of flashing
only need to read the manual by FSC support site.

Tips: If you have already flashed the device with the latest official update from fsc and only if you altready do that,

in that way when use the PocketLOOX8xxFlashTool you flash only the new xip/os image instead of flashing the wlan firmware,gps firmware,ecc..
But that modification have to be made only if previously flashed the device with the latest update from fsc.


- Another "undocumented" way of flashing the device is tu use the SD Card, but that procedure it's undocumented and can be a little bit dangerous
especially if the battery of device is charged more that 80%.
I don't know why sd flashing it's implemented but undocumented, but my opinion is that except from some real particular case,
you don't need to flash the t830 from sd. The firs two method mentioned are sufficent.

I personally got 15 seconds TTF with above mentioned status although navigator NMEA message view says that gps fw is still 3.1.1.. maybe it's huge luck, but please test..

it doesn't work on beta3 on my t830 -NOW is much worst ! - I have to wait 5-10min to be connected (cold start) :(

I've got a small question, on the keyboard when you activate the FN key to enter numbers, is the numpad backlignt becoming blue????
Because when I was trying to get a azerty config on my T830, the keyboard wasn't working anymore, but I had this blue backlight I had never seen before...

I'm using Beta 3 and the phone crashed some times when I was trying to answer a call or to make a call... So I'm using again my "normal" cellphone.

Hi,

I tried your WM6.1 ROM today on my T810. GPS worked well, fixing satellites first time has take about 2 minutes, second time it was maybe 5 seconds, very quick!!! System response was quick, wifi worked OK.

problems found:

- in main Today screen was non working "New SMS" button instead of usual "Phone" button.

- problem with resuming PDA from standby when it was locked.
After pressing red button to bring it up, unlock button not work. Unlock work only with stylus - by taping "unlock" on screen.
After turning it on it goes back to standby mode in approx. a second - I was unable to turn it on pernamently... this is most serious bug I found.

Sorry, but I doesn't have enough time to test it more deeply.

In official WM5 version and in beta3, the numpad backlight is becoming blue only for the phone application. This is absolutely normal.

It is too bad it is not like that for other apps.

I may be wrong but I think you are referring to the Widcomm stack? Switching the Microsoft bluetooth stack to Widcomm stack is more difficult than installing a cab. I think it has been successfully done in the past on Dell X10v.

maybe because of a diference in the tools, I noticed that for the tools on your kitchen the directories with the name of the dlls contain some S** files , imageinfo.txt AND the dll file itself, when it creates SYS and OEM directories, while the dumped directories from original ROM contain only the S** files and the imageinfo, no dll file, besides, the published drivers for german and italian don't apparently need to change registry settings, I have been trying to replace the keyboard drivers since this morning but without success, any help would be much appreciated!

Hi felipe,
if u dump a rom and no .dll created, it's only because in the dir where you placed the imgfstools is not present recmod.exe. If u place recmod.exe in the same dir of imgfstools, when u dump a rom are created both imageinfo,SXX and .dll.
If u use the kitchen dev from first post you can find that tools in subdir TOOLS.

Thank you for all your efforts. I have put beta3 on my T810 pda. Everything is ok but I have one problem, the left led (taht one who glows blue when you have missing calls or you use gps ) is not working anymore. I don't know, but I think is a useful feature to see that you have missed calls without waking up the pda from standby. Does anyone know how can I solve the problem? ;)

I did some additional testing of N560's gps firmware v3.2.2.. I hexedited COM8 to COM6 in htcgpsupdate.exe and signed the file again with signtool. Now it starts and green led is blinking (informing it's accessing gps port) but it still fails with error #3.

Yup, I tried to set the port to sirf mode with sirftech but it does not help, I also
tried registry editing com port enumeration and successfully managed to change COM6 to COM8 (and COM8 to COM6) but the error 3 still showed up..

But it doesnt work :( The phone said "the phone is blue" and emp failed or something. After it, i try to install with usb-download mode other images, but it doesent work too. One of tehm start but others not. After 4-5 firmware update the t830 was died. I cant switch on and i can switch it to usb download mode. Is tehere any possibiliti to repair it at home, or i must bring it to the service.
If i can rapair it at home, please help me :) and if someone have a "blue" compatible wm5 imaga please send me.

I get a little forward. The thing about packting the updater is, that we first need to check, if the flash chip for the gps firmware in the n560 and t830 is the same. It would be good if we find any pictures of both disassembled phones or infos about the flash chips.
If you download Sirfflash package you can see which flash ships are often used.

If we could manage to connect real-COM6 from T830 to a PC, we could use Sirfflash to backup our 3.1.1 firmware.

You can map the T830 GPS port to a virtual pc port. This works well in NMEA and Sirfmode and you can use SirfDemo with that.
But when you put the sirf chip in boot mode to read/write the firmware flash the program crashes. :(
I think the problem is that G2B only map GPS data, not ALL data.
So a tool that maps all data between the ports would be nice.

Yes - I found also those flash-ID's from htcgpsupdate.exe... but I thought I could monitor COM6 traffic with some utility to see what kind of protocol is being used, ie.

<request> $PSRF....... ( to get flash info)
<response> something_not_expected (flash info)
<operation> compare to in-memory strings, if not found, terminate with #3

I was figuring that if I can read that "something_not_expected" I could replace some
flash-ID strings in htcgpsupdate and it *could* work (it could also corrupt flash :)

I have no problem opening t830 if I must but it would be nicer if flash could be backed-up and then restored if everything goes *borked*

If you want to experiment a bit ...

You can map the real-Com6 to a virtual PC com port with the trial version of Franson GPS Gate. With GPS Gate you can transfer the data then via TCP, Activesync or Bluetooth. All 3 work.

And you can bring the sirf3 to boot mode with Sirfdemo: ACTION=>TRANSMIT SERIAL MESSAGE=>Type "94" (without "") in the field, select SIRF BINARY => SEND. After that the communication ist lost, what should be maybe OK, cause the Sirf3 waits for a bootloader. Now it "should" be possible to read out the flash with Sirfflash. You can see the whole communication when you monitor the ports with "PortMon" from Sysinternals/Microsoft.

The problem is, sirfflash doesnt want to run. When trying to read flash it says "bla bla was unable to put chip in flash mode" and when I'm putting the chip in flash mode and trying sirfflash then, im getting a timeout.

ATM I think it's maybe cause a com-port speed change. Maybe it works with the correct speed setting at the sirf-chip com port and GPSGATE input tab at T830. But I dont know the correct speed and flow control mode between sirf<==>gpsgate_at_T830 for the flash mode. The lack of documentation is really bad.

Even it could be, that com6 is connected with sirf-portb, which is the wrong port to receive the bootloader. See:

It would be easy to test, if we set portb to another baud rate and try if we can still comminucate with the sirf. But I dont know if this is a permanent change...

The device have a section for jtag/debug purpose, but you need to find what pin to use.
Probabily something similar to Atom jtag interface, but never tryed.
The only thing i'm sure is that the device have some functionality for jtag interface.
But if the warranty it's active on your device, send it to repair center.

Got it, using reversmode I have integrated SDHC support into the ROM substituting sdbus.dll and sdmemory.dll, it works perfectly with any SD/SDHC card!

I am a HTC wizard user and rom builder and i have now for 2 weeks this nice Loox t830 :) i like the wm6.1 rom but the gprs is not working :( so i have questions for anybody of the rom and port builders know how i can fix GPRS in the wm 6.1 kitchen it seem that it's the same problem as in first wm6 rom build.:)
Wm 6.1 is a great rom it's very fast,fare faster then wm6.0 with some tweaks
and have more resource free then wm6.0.
If you don't know the fix then let me know where to look maybe i can help to fix it, if we share info the better for us all.

you can change the reg setting to show sim numbers
Change this reg setting to 1 at the end default is 0 like you see below.

I am trying to figure out how to edit registry to make my sim contacts appear.
Edit : Sorted - I used PHM editor and will try to get the better(?) Resco editor later.

Yes - the camera does not work in all the ROMs I have tried (or I could not get it to work). Although, it is not very important.

if you can't connect via ActiveSync you should do it in recovery mode, just press red button and camera simultaneosly, while having those two buttons pressed press reset and then connect USB cable fast, the phone should say now "new usb download mode", start the flash tool and it will say "phone not found" because it can't connect via activesync, just click "next" and eventually tool will say "attempt recovery mode" and will start flashing the phone.

You should read posts 127 and 140 before.
Make sure you T830 is fully charged before flashing ROM. Your problem may come from here; I already had this message.

In my experience, I follow instruction on screen. At one point during the process, I have to press 3 buttons at the same time, middle finger of left hand on camera button, stylus in reset hole with right hand and then I have to fight to press the red button long enough with the fingers that I left or my nose ;-) This acrobatic finger position enables to enter in a USB recovery mode. You then have to follow instructions on screen again.

Two times, the flashing went wrong. I was sad for a few long minutes. I then retried flashing and it went ok.
Keep on trying until works.

Do not forget to run a hard reset once the flashing has succeed.

I tried your new ROM, is almost OK but and found some problems:

Bugs:

- In Settings-Personal-Today-Windows default theme is damaged (background image is missing I think), rest of themes are OK

- In Settings-Personal-Phone are missing 3 wma ringtones (Illumine, Mezza and Osmosis)

- In Today screen Mail key is not working - "Error opening the shortcut...", Calendar key is working

- In Phone application is missing background texture, when dialpad is hidden there is a big white empty place on top of the screen


Important problems:

- In Setting-System-Backlight is missing Adjust Brightness Menu, so it's not possible to adjust brightness of display!
(edited: I just found that shift+left/right keys adjust brightness via hardware, interesting...)

- GPRS connection is not work for me - Error message: "Dialed o2internet - Cannot connect for an unknown reason...." WIFI is working well.

I hope you fix these problems, because this ROM is ideal - small and very fast!

Which ROM are you talking about?
The feature you are referring to is "FSC profiles". Apparently, it has not been included in the ROM you are using. FSC profiles is present in wm6fsc beta ROMs.

It is really great to see WM6.1 on the T830.
Task manager is cool.
SMS chat-like display is fun.
32 SDHC should be available very soon. Thanks to the work of you guys on this forum, the T830 announced in January 2006 is still a candidate for one of the best GPS/music phones.

Works great:
- 16GB SDHC with SDHC777.cab
- GPS

Missing, FSC app that I did not find in OEM.zip (#184)
- FSC profiles (to turn off the device!)
- USB host app
- backlighting and keyboard backlighting

Others
- Camera through "Pictures & videos" app works but camera app and camera button are missing
- SimTkUI seems inactive
- I did not manage to setup MMS config
- GPRS: "Cannot connect for an unknown reason"
- BT A2DP: "Connection failed"

First of all, thx for the time you pass on the new rom! if some of you can acheive a full working WM6.1 it'll be a good thing for a lot of T830 owners.

I read this thread almost since the begining and i registered today cause i'm sometime desapointed by ppl like powerbyte and some others...they post links, without comments, details and about what working and not working....

IMHO Only 2 guys are doing an excellent job : acubens and wm6fsc (clean and clear rom detailled) . Just don't install roms from ppl who don't give details or you'll have some big issue!!

Please! i know that it's not easy to work on a rom, it take a lot of time and skill, but there is no point to share, if you don't give all datas (as acubens and wm6fsc do).

- Rom version
- What the rom add
- what working or not
- additional software
- The full kitchen (ppl can change the keyboard layout easier)

Without that, it's just dangerous and a big waste of time!
just my 2 cents...

Don't stop the good work ;-)


BTW: if you search a full working rom, i use the wm6fsc beta 2 (link post #1) since a month without major issue.

At first I must say that Cooking Chefs on this forum are doing Hell of a Job!

I'm currently testing Beta3 Rom from the first page and the User Experience about home brew Rom and FSC original Rom cant be compared (With original Rom i was totally frustrated, want to sell my unit almost a day after it was purchased).

Well, i do have one question for now, regarding Auto/2G/3G switching. On Original Rom was appl which has doing that, and of course T830Tweaker. Unfortunately T830Tweaker 1.3.0.0 does not switch from Auto mode on WM6.

Does anybody knows a reg key or Appl which can fix to 2G from Auto mode? I really don't need 3G speeds, i need longer battery life :)

After downloading, just open it and goto flash tool folder in it and put your MIDO.DIO file and flash it.

(It has old DIO file from Core Z old Kitchen beta 1 so don't use it Hehe :p)

Hello All,

I'm new to the forum so I hope this isn't a terribly stupid question. I've just upgraded to the newest firmware available on this thread, and it has really been working great. Thanks to all who worked so hard to get it functioning.

Here's my situation. Under the FSC original firmware, when I locked my device by pressing the red END key, it required two key presses to unlock. Once on the red END, and a long press on the ENTER key. Alternatively, if my device were awakened by an alarm or incoming text or so forth, I could wake the system by pressing the unlock icon on the lower left of the screen, and then the same icon in the middle of the screen.

Under the new firmware, if I let the device fall asleep (it is set to do so after 2 minutes of inactivity), when I wake it up, I press the red END, and then the two unlock icons as described above. However, if I "lock" the device by pressing the red END, the device will immediately wake up if I press either the red END or the green CALL button.

I see on the HTC Launcher Application, I can choose "Lock Device" as a program to launch, which will set me into the same state as if I let the device fall asleep. However, I can't assign that program to a button, as it does not appear in the list of available programs.

So, what did I do wrong? How do I set my phone up so that the red END button locks the device and it will take two key presses to unlock it again? How do I set it up so that "Lock Device" is invoked whenever I press the red END button to lock it?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated! Thanks again for all of your hard work,

Well, in theory i can find keys in original FSC WM5 ROM and compare them with different switches (auto /2G /3G).
But if T830Twaker does not switch from auto to 2G or 3G, then reg keys must be different...am I right?

Please, can someone push me in to the right direction?:)

You may try to remove the battery from the phone and leave it for a whole night to discharge the internal battery.

Well maybe not everybody have time to answer you, here @t830 tread there are not many users who are always online and maybe they did not read your post, and maybe you can start reading the post from the beginning because then you will find your answer. Also you can search the wiki so there are way's to find out yourself. Do you know this one ( If you don't know how to do it read the f***king manual and you don't get help if you talk this way people here do this in there free time and you can not command for help, 2days waiting for a answer you are lucky if you get a answer from your local store in 2 days and there you have to pay)
