My T830 is phone locked , i need some help , i have try Hard reset, update etc ..

I think that there was a tool on original WM 5.0 ROM to lock the phone to a particular SIM, much like commercial SIM locked phones, if that is the case, you need the unlock code from the store or the person who sold you the phone, otherwise you need to take it to a service center to unlock, hope this helps.

Hi zubinezu,
there is a utility in wm5 rom called FSC_Phone_lock o something similar, the file is PhoneLock.exe. You have to run that and unlock your phone because probabily you insert a key for lock the phone on the SIM.
You have only 2 way to solve that problem:
- Put the SIM you have into t830 when you locked the device
- Unlock the device with the fsc utility and the code.

Hello! About your camera, I'm using last ROM from Acubens and all stuff in it is working, try to flash again and hard rest, I'm sure your cam will work ^.-

I get the message "error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename" when I click the camera button. I am using Acubens ROM6.1.
I have the feeling that their is something wrong with the camera since it never worked from day 1 (I don't really need/use it).

i think this means that the symlink between the button and the camera app is broken. Try to activate the camera from the "pictures & video" application.

Well maybe not everybody have time to answer you, here @t830 tread there are not many users who are always online and maybe they did not read your post, and maybe you can start reading the post from the beginning because then you will find your answer. Also you can search the wiki so there are way's to find out yourself. Do you know this one ( If you don't know how to do it read the f***king manual and you don't get help if you talk this way people here do this in there free time and you can not command for help, 2days waiting for a answer you are lucky if you get a answer from your local store in 2 days and there you have to pay)

Im sorry for talking like this but every one seemed too occupied with their problems..I have flashed roms in tytn and tytn II but it was not too hard.Im a bit too new to non HTC devices..and this mdoc.dio thing is way too different than what i know..thanks for asking anyway.So how would I flash my FSC with this mdoc. thing?And for a suggestion why cant we keep this thread clean and tidy..I can work as a WWE Rom tester too.But this posts are not managed and very messed up.Every one is posting links to ROM files and kitchens.Why dont we start by cleaning things up?creating a set of rules for posting msgs should be made to run this thread clean.Im not good at cooking ROMs so I will be a tester for you guys.

Hey,,, Just Hard rest the device after installing the beta 3, you can do that with pressing Red button and rest button till you see a message "System Defaults" click it and this should fix your problem. cheers

I did that but the loox hangs on 'clean boot' screen nothing happens.

PS - I downloaded the rom posted by powerbyt named 'bug FIX Version Final B' and it works nice.Litle bit out of special softwares.but main functions works well so far.But when sending msgs a error window pops up saying 'the file USSD2 cannot be opend..blah blah' does anyone know what's causing this?

Change 1 time your theme and it will be in white letters and the above bar is the theme itself. if you don't like it you can put one yourself....

GPRS connection still not working for me (o2 slovakia), so....not usable for me :(

I hope it will be fixed in your next release. And I found another few bugs:

- in settings - personal - buttons - buttons doesn't have a numbers, so you don't know which button you modifying...

- in settings - system - are 2 differend backlights icons /maybe it's future :-)/

p.s: I tried also acubens ROM (#512) and GPRS is working OK for me, maybe this help you. Please fix this GPRS issue, your ROM is great but without GPRS is no usable for work :(

Ok folks, here it is. This version is tested on my personal T810. Basically I use the clean 6.1 from powerbyte (by the way, nice work....) with some additions and a LOT of testing. What includes:
-wm6.1 (obviously)
-almost all applications found in original FSC wm5 (also the layout of menus).
-fine tuning of various parameters.
-office is NOT included, nor xcpuscalar or other utilites.
-for mms you can use the acubens utilities
-no srs patch

I have tried to copy as best as I can the original layout of FSC (I consider that some original fujitsu utilities are very good, eg 2G/3G switcher, FSC profiles, etc).

I need some testing regarding gprs and camera (on my T810 I don't have a camera, and I don't have an gprs account).

If you don't like it please don't shoot me :) this is my first try to cook a rom.... Thank you all the good work ..;)

a note for everyone, don't install the SRS cr. patch for Bluetooth head phones because it makes the phone freeze when at stand by, cheers

Tried both acubens beta 1 and beta 2.

Beta 2: I have problems with wifi apparently attempting to connect on rebooting (it isn't really trying i think) and nothing I do can stop it --- not comm manager, not via wifi settings.

Also had the bug with the theme --- changed it once, as previously suggested fixed it.

MMS works after installing the stuff.

Also, no fsc keylock is a problem. I carry the T830 in the belt pouch. Keys will always be pressed, and a keylock program is important. Device lock is the only workaround, and a very poor one at that (i have email auto check every 5 min. with gprs on, it is difficult to also turn off the screen after device lock!)

Think I prefer beta 1 overall!

First let me say thank you for your fantastic work. Yesterday afternoon I installed acubens (non-final) rom and am really impressed! Unbelievable what you guys got everything going! The more it frustrates me that Fujitsu-Siemens does not want to upgrade the official rom to WM6. But I think that you guys here seem to have even more knowledge about building rom files so we can forget about fusi.

Due to my installation of the meanwhile non-most-recent version of acubens rom (which actually was the most recent yesterday afternoon) I occured the same problems regarding missing skin for WMP (any idea where these skins have to be copied to? Couldn't really find something usable with google). GPRS went fine for me, Video telephony didn't work (but I never use it), my Sandisk 4GB SDHC Card wasn't recognized.

Before installing the latest final rom, I have some questions:

a) Is there any possibility to do a "good" backup of my configuration and, if possible, of my additionally installed apps? Is SPB Backup a useful application to do a usable backup which can be restored on a later rom? It is not that handsome if I always had to reconfigure the whole device...

b) I'm using a T830 with a German Keyboard layout. I've read some threads here where some guys tell some minor details how to exchange the keyboard drivers to use the german layout. I'm sorry to say but anything I read brought up additional questions/problems. I already tried to cook my own rom and replace the keyboard drivers using some keyboard driver files from a core_z image or even from the original image, but the createROM.bat procedure requested some input values in G'Reloc (Slot 0:, Slot 1: ....) that I didn't know howto set and thus always reportet some "integer overflow" messages. Any idea what to enter in these fields if I'm using acubens_final and the german keyboard drivers?

Hi, sorry i never did try to change keyboard drivers so i can't help you maybe one of the other rom builders can.
Sbp have software called clone this is what you need the best for restore a complete and working rom, and the backup software is also great.
In my latest rom you have the wmplayer 11 skin it residence in /program files/Windows media player/

Keybddr.dll
keybdsip.dll
kbdhid.dll

from the original wm5 rom in your languange or except keybddr.dll from any rom that map you language, and replace that files
from oem folder of your kytchen.

Besides this folder name, there exist several Registry-Values in this folder, one of them is called "Keyboard Layout = 00000409". If I change this value to ...409, the keyboard doesn't work at all. But it does with the folder name modified. But "only" in US-Layout, unfortunately... Some assistance with this would be very helpful.

After this is finished, let's build custom ROMs, but basic bugs have to be fixed at start. That is my suggestion.

Dear T830 Funs,

I have just extensively tested a few WM6.x T830 ROMs flowing around and my impression is that the Acubens stuff is cetainly the best - close to the ideal (apart from not working Video Calls, but I don't use it at all). Great work, congratulations to you and, of course, Wm6fsc who was the main person pushing the things forward.

Based on Acubens work plus Wm6fsc kitchen I cooked my own ROM - removing practically all non-WM stuff, correcting a few minor things and adding a few FSC applications I'm used to (FSC Profile, FSC backup, GPS Locator, FSC Keylock). I also managed to get SIMToolkit working (I need it as I use a dual SIM card switcher) - one has to take the software from WM5 ROM (WM6 SIMTkt doesn't work). So I ended with a small, fast and quite stable ROM and I'm quite satisfied.

Nevertheless, there are some minor but annoying bugs which I think should be fixed - hopefully by register editing. These problems affect practically all WM6 T830 ROMs, so posting solutions (if anyone knows them) would make life of many people easier. So, the bugs and questions:

1. Acubens ROM: In Today screen the left hardware button is "New SMS" invoking non-existing SmsEdit.exe command. I fixed that by changing:
[HKEY_CURRENR_USER\software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\11 2]
to Phone and \Windows\Start Menu\Phone.lnk
However, I think this is just workaround - not a fix. In Wm6fsc WM6beta3 and powerbyte WM6.1 ROMs - Phone is by default connected to this button. So how to change that in the ROM?

2. The Phone application by default starts with kind of contact screen, not the Keypad as it was by default in WM5. How to change that (only in Wm6fsc WM6beta3 ROM the Phone starts with Keypad as I would wish)? Also how to change in Keypad mode "Hide Keypad" (again left button) to "Contacts" and invoke regular WM Contacts as it was in WM5?

3. Pressing any letter button on the keyboard in Today screen invokes the Phone application. How to get rid of that? This can be pretty annoying.

4. Numerical keys in the keyboard don't work in the Phone application in either of the tested WM6 and WM6.1 ROMs. Also the illumination of buttons (blue illumination of the numerical keys) practically doesn't work (blue diode turns on in erratical situations).

Once again many many thanks to all developers who contributed to keeping T830 alive.

Hi, thanks for your comments and bug report, the bugs you report are a problem of drivers they are originale for wm5 and i can't fix that unless we have some new drivers, the basic rom without addional software is running but don't forget that all software and drivers are from wm5 and will never be perfect and without bugs. Also t830 tweaker is not without bugs.
I think this is it for the basic rom nothing more nothing less.
@ the end of next week i will put up the kitchen for download.
Maybe there are new rom cookers who can deal with it fearther.

FSC Profiles is working only you have to configure it yourself you can do that by the menu setting on every profile setting and then it works.
Only thing is if you use xcpuscaler the rom freese if you use saving battery profile. further it works like a charme.

Basicaly it is based on the powerbyte version of wm6.1 with addition of almost all original utilities found on wm5 version of the rom (FSC Profiles, FSC backup, GPS Locator, FSC Keylock, FSC Speedmenu, FSC Zip, etc, etc) and the hack for GPRS indicated by acubens (many thanks!!!). -Now the gprs works correctly (I dont know for camera as I have T810, probably not)
-Buttons assignments are the same with original (Phone left, Contacts right, Calendar, newmail, FSC Speed Menu lateral left, Record lateral right). Of course they can be reassigned in settings=>buttons
-MMS works with the software provided by acubens (thanks again)
-Majority of programs and link are checked works correctly
-The problem with wifi autostarting upon reset is sorted in my version with the registry hack: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\AR6K1\Parms:resetPowerStat e=1"
and "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\AR6K1\Parms:powerSaveMode= 1". First time after reset the wifi comes on (can be switched off with wireless manager). Consequent reboots seems to keep wifi off.

Normally you can edit folders in sys and OEM (NOT those from WM6.1 system files). All the files from these directories goes to Windows dir on the pda so first chek if files from your folder are indeed on windows dir. Maybe you have cross references somwhere and if you rename folders these references can became broken...

I don't use T830 tweaker (too buggy for me) but if you have a registry editor (excellent CeRegEditor, Pocket Total Commander, Spb or other ) you can edit the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\11 2
and give the path to the key lock program: eg. "\Windows\KeyLock.lnk"

Now I'm using acubens' final ROM. So far works fine, few times my device didn't wake up from stand-by. I still miss newmail.exe - very useful if you send lots of text messages. And what happened to busy signal? Is it possible to add those two features without flasing the ROM again?

I am new here since some days and have tested now several ROM versions as well. Great work - I am impressed by the speed up.
However with all WM6(beta3, powerbyte , acubens) I installed so far I cannot access contacts of poutlook anymore.

This seems to be special to my installation as noone else has reported this yet. I had a German Version of WM5 running. Going back to that version with FSC flash utility and restore with FSCbackup WM5 is OK working again

Can somone tell me what I need to edit to get this working in WM6?

The problem with keypad is microsoft related. I think in version wm6 this is how is supposed to work (letters instead numbers).

As I mentioned in my previous post this ROM is based on Acuben's work. This is very small, stripped version so everyone can add his/her favorite software.

Basic features:

WM6.1 5.2.1908 build 19199.0.7.0
Program memory free: 27.5 M
Storage memory free: 63 MB

WM6.1 system
Office + IE + WMP (available from Program menu)
FSC Software: GPSLocator, FSCBackup, FSCProfile, FSC Keylock, PhoneConfig
SDHC support (original drivers replaced with SDHC777.cab ones; not tested on SDHC cards - I don't have one, but works well with 4 GB SD card).
SIMToolkit working, newmail
Several additions: WM5 phone rings etc.
Fixed some things people were recently complaining: lack of busy sound for Phone; \Windows\KeyLock1.lnk for KeyLock etc.
Phone assigned to the left soft key.
Phone starts with Keypad
Camera works OK,
GPS catches fix faster or similarly fast as in WM5
GPRS, MMS work OK (MMS from Acuben's extra CABs).

What still bothers me: annoying Phone contacts invoking by pressing any letter on the keyboard, no numeric blue keypad in Phone and buggy keyboard illumination. But I'm afraid this is a result of using WM5 keyboard drivers in WM6 and won't be easy to fix without knowing code and hardware details. So we likely have to live with that.

Firstable thanks to all ROM builders - great job. I tried some of them.
Now I'm using lens' ROM second edition - I think that it is very stable at this moment - ;) By the way blue keypad works at first two touches.

I have a very big request to all ROM builders - can you fix video calling in some of the next releases or it is very hard.

As always thank you so much for your work.
I am using acubens beta 2 for a few weeks now. In my experience, this version works very well for a daily usage with voice and UMTS browsing. I used wmfsc beta 3 before and overall these two ROM present the same functionalities except that acubens ROM is WM6.1. Transition from GPRS to UMTS works. The speed of IE is fast. I was able to surf in the car for long period of times.
It is not possible to disconnect data connection in this ROM but a simple work around is to turn the phone off and on. Occasionally, the connection is lost. This is not a big deal, just reset the connection.

I think I notice a small difference in the MMS implementation. wmfsc ROM MMS composer also includes emoticons. I personally would tend to say that wmfsc MMS implementation is better. It would be interesting to know why acubens and wmfsc implementations are different. Also would it be possible to include wmfsc MMS implementation in acubens ROM (or one of its derivative)?

One very annoying missing feature in this ROM is FSC lock: I lost 20 minutes of voice because of that. In my pocket the green button was pressed multiple times. The workaround is to turn on WinMo lock. Everytime I turn on the device I have to enter a PIN but at least it will not make unwanted calls.

A2DP works great. Phone may not return form stand by but if you reboot the device, the phone returns to a stable state. A2DP therefore is definitely usable.

Reported bugs:
- inbuilt GPS system is not connecting to any satellites (Google maps, GPS tuner, Garmin X). Workaround for Google Maps: configure it manually (9600 on COM6).
- sometimes WiFi auto switches on after a complete shutdown and cannot be turned off without a soft reset.
- missed call list icons missing.

As a reminder, a feature available in WM5 ROMs and still not available in any WM6.x ROM is Video call. ;-)

I'm testing this ROM since yesterday. It's very stable and fast. Everything is working fine so far. It's a pleasure to use and the difference is evident even coming from wm6.

Just two warning to other potential users:

* I updated from wm6beta2 and had to hard reset to factory defaults to have my t830 booting.
This wasn't needed after updating from wm5 to wm6.

* BIG WARNING: after restoring my messaging data from a previous backup (SMS, mails and so on) the MMS functions were so messed up to
require another hard reset and reinstall of all my other software.

Many thanks to all the devs (and to wm6fsc, lens and acubens in particular, of course).

You're right! The one for the incoming calls is also missing.

There are still some minor bugs. At this moment the most annoying to me is that GPRS can freeze the system if the connection is called and the settings for GPRS are wrong. This probably doesn't affect the vast majority of users because they have either no GPRS settings or correct settings. In that case everything works fine. But I'm using two SIMs (I have Dual SIM card switcher). So when I have active SIM of other GSM provider than my GPRS settings then the connection hangs for good. In WM5 such a connection timed-out and the system survived. Perhaps someone can help?

I am a bad tester. I re-checked acubens 2 ROM today and A2DP is working! But I just got a non-return from stand by (bluetooth was off). I will need to test it for a few more days.
In your ROM, do you sometimes experience non-return from stand by?

No, it works perfectly, I have listened music for hours (thanks to SDHC drivers) I have put a *LOT* of songs in the SDHC card and all functionality even remote control profile AVRCP works OK.

I am really happy with my ROM even if it's WM 6.0

u need to make to key files and copy them to the garmin directory. one unlocks the gps function of the program and the other the detailed maps SW.UNL GMAPSUPP.UNL respectively. u will need a keygenerator to do this. its has some procedure which isn't so difficult if you take them step by step

I'm using lens rom, which is based on acubens' one. I discovered that you _must_ select 9600 as serial line speed to have GPS working with 3rd party apps (tomtom in my case).

With 5.0 and 6.0 any speed would work. Hope this helps.

In the External GPS settings window there are 3 Tabs,first Programs. second Hardware and third Access.In Programs tab I've chosen Port4.Because its not possible to set the same port for software and hardware.Even if I choose none for the software port it stil cannot search for the sats..this is really annoying!

I had some time last weekend to work @ this rom again,

Same ROM Build as Finale Acubens but fixed some things.

Keyboard layout
Bluetooth pan networking Internet Sharing
Bluetooth works great with my headset (Jabra) (calling and music) :)
Cleaned Reg input's asus and others like ringtones that was not in the rom
Key mappings
Camera Hold brings up Wireless manager
Softkey on the left Tasks
Agenda Hold note's
Messaging hold brings new mail
The others are standard like before
Keylocks works

This is a clean rom only New mail, FCS Profiles, FSC GPS locator, FSC Backup and the basic microsoft stuff without Enterprise and SqlMobile

I have some things on the run here with 3g Video calling and i am still working on it, it's basic security issue but with time it will work.
After 3 million mouse clicks and some fights with the wife it will be there..... Cheers

actually you don't need to change registry entries (at least I didn't need to), also, bear in mind that keybdsip.dll,keybddr.dll and kbdhid.dll are not files but directories, extract these from original WM5.0 ROM using wm6fsc kitchen (dumprom command) then replace the three directories in your cooked ROM with the ones from the WM5.0 ROM

Hello, okay, with the ROM from wm6fsc I have not yet tested - in which ROM lens, I could after the ROM replace the files are not, because I always RELOC the crash. I will tonight but again the wm6fsc Beta 3 testing.

Yes sure it's ok to use my rom as base i put it up to use in any way.
i know it is possible i hope this week i can implement it in the 6.1 kitchen i think i can use the part from wm6fsc kitchen for the keyboard part.

Please use rar with 5% Data Recovery Record for ROMs. Some people flash their hardware with damaged file. So before you put ROM on rapidshare use rar, make ROMs more secure and save bandwidth.

First of all, thank you all for working on the T830 firmware, FSC threw this excellent device away without even trying to develop it's full potential. I'm using ktod's 6.1 rom (the newest one) and it's already working a lot better than the original FSC ROM ever did. All I really need to be happy is a german driver for the hardware keyboard (I hope somebody creates a ROM based on beta3 with all the featues from ktod's version with the german driver included soon) and a fix for the "number keys", it would be nice if they would work like they do in the original firmware, without having to hold down the "fn" key or using the onscreen dial-keys.

I can live with the english WinMo version, just the keyboard driver would be important. I'm too much of a noob to pack that into one of the existing releases myself...

Thanks again for all the good (and free) work you have put into this...you are making an excellent device even better!

Here is another version of my rom with german keyboard layout (it has the correct layout for keys BUT the problem with blue key illumination or inputing numbers without Fn is not solved. I think we need custom drivers from fujitsu specifically for wm6 as the old wm5 keyboard drivers doesn't function correctly.). Everything else just works. As a whole I'm fully satisfied with this rom and I'm using without problems. Enjoy.

I'll giver it a try, if it works as well as the english one I'm using now then I'll be perfectly happy! You should get paid by FSC for the work you are doing here...

btw...the blue keyboard light does work when entering the PIN number...so it works at least part of the time...


UPDATE: I flashed the ROM you provided and now the blue lights and number recognition does not work for the PIN entry anymore. No big deal, but it seems there is a difference between the english and german keyboard drivers (if that is all you changed).
Apart from that things seem to be working OK. I'm installing some software now, will seee how everything works and how the german keyboard behaves and let you know if I find anomalies.

You can find some HOWTO in the first post of this thread. Please read _all_ the thread to understand issues and choose the rom that fits tour needs.

FWIW, I run a wm6.1 rom, wm6 development seems to be stopped, or at least it's about a month that there are no news about that.

Here is a step by step guide:
1. copy MDOC.DIO file to your SD card root folder
2. remove back cover and put power USB cable to your PDA
3. press together Flash button + Red phone button + Soft reset with stylus for cca. 5seconds
4. PDA will reset and start loading ROM image from SD card. After load, start automatically flashing ROM. Wait for end of flashing process.
5. HARD reset device - press together Red phone button + Soft reset with stylus for cca. 5seconds
6. Service menu appears, select "boot defaults" and confirm
7. PDA will start booting new image.....Enjoy!

don't flash from Sd card...it often fails. That happened to me...it's no big problem since you can always restore, but it gives you quite a fright...^^

Use the windows update software as written in the guide. Just replace the mdoc.dio with one of the roms from this thread and follow the instructions. Don't use Vista, that also causes Problems...

I found one other error...when using the camera in video mode...it stops recording after about 18 seconds, the timer continues, but the viewfinder freezese and so does the recorded video. Is this a known error? Otherweise everything seems stable.

First let me say that I fully agree that we should work only on one version of the wm6.1 rom for FSC. But I think this is very difficult (we should set a versioning system, coordinate with the team etc). This roms are cooked by us in our spare time. Myself I have tested over 30 versions of my cooked rom. I don't think this is over difficult to test from 3-6 versions of the released roms and choose the one that suits to your taste.

Ok enough with the talk...

Features of my version (which by the way, has almost maximum size allowed so there is no more software that I can stuff into :) ):
-All the FSC software from original wm5 fsc T8xx
- The behaviour of the original wm5 (beside the nasty behaviour of the hardware keyboard with the blue light - I think this one microsoft calls a feature....)
-office included
-everything just work (this is my dream, so please report any bugs)


If you want to cook your own rom just throw my mdoc.dio into ROM folder of T830Dev package and dump the packages.

Yes you are right. Flash button is on left side of PDA. (on T830 is used do make photos)

And don't worry about flashing from SD Card, I flashed over 10 ROMs without a problem.... I use 1GB Kingston microSD card in SD card adapter.

Another question: Does the pda have to be on the cradle to flash it, or the charger is enough? Hmm.. stupid question, I can't reset it if it's on the cradle :)

modify the dumpxip script in dev fsc kitchen, replace the last line with this one

..\TOOLS\dumprom MDOC.DIO.Part1 -5 -d "C:\T830\t830dev_acu\ROM\XIP"

in the original script it used MDOC.DIO.PART0 but in this ROM, I extracted boot.rgu and .hv from MDOC.DIO.Part1

1. copy MDOC.DIO file to your SD card root folder
2. remove back cover and put power USB cable to your PDA

Another question: Does the pda have to be on the cradle to flash it, or the charger is enough? Hmm.. stupid question, I can't reset it if it's on the cradle :)

because I have a T810, I can't verify if video calls working with this ROM. You have to search this forum and try to find ROM with verified video call function...

Also on this forum you can find link for download of original FS WM5.0 ROM, so you can flash device back to default.

New usb download mode.
To the directory on PC, for example c: \ fsc.tmp \ PocketLOOX8xx \ FlashUpdateV812 copy MDOC.DIO file that you want to upload to the device . Now do so (I do so):
1. remove SD card from the device and T830 connect to a computer via USB.
2. you press the buttons Photo + red headset and you press reset at the back (USB cable connected all the time).
3. push off reset and still press briefly Photo + red handset and waiting until the screen T830 will show the "new usb download mode."
4. Now start on your computer "PocketLOOX8xxFlashTool" and go the whole procedure.
5. should be the words "phone not found", so you click on next, should see a "attempt recovery mode" and then start the Flashprocedure (there will be three steps - step1, step 2 step 3 and can take up to 30 minutes! either and longer - so not only look forward and waiting).
6. Do not turn off the computer now (so is best to use a laptop) or T830, until the end of the procedure.
7. as the procedure ends T830 alone should be restarted.

NOTE: For sure it works on Windows XP, which must be installed Active Sync and PocketLOOX8xxFlashTool, do not work on Windows Vista.

We know that probably point 2 is likely to remain without a solution because of a lack of drivers from FSC for wm6.1. Can you please explain what do you mean in point 3?

1. No Office
2. Contact menu problem with SIM, and no SimTkUI in Programs
3. No GPRS disconnect by pressing red button - I must use stylus and pressing Disconnect in Wireless Manager.

So, I stilll using last Lens ROM and I recommend this ROM.
In this ROM works all what you ask in your's posts.

If i have time i will work more on this build there are some bugs like bluetooth it works for just for a headset other options does not work.
So hang in there and report bugs instead of asking if i can put this or that in it i will leave that to the users, i will make a standard rom and make cab files for everyting else so the user can make the rom and put software on it what he like's. Also if everything works i put the kitchen up for download.
In a week or so it will be d-day.

Acubens: How to use Internet Sharing over bluetooth? I flashed the version but when opeing internet sharing I still only have USB.
If it works, how to implement on another rom?

Hi Rob,
If you like to use that option, go to network adapters dubbel click on bluetooth pan user driver, give the baby a ip address like 192.168.1.1 with subnetmask 255.255.255.0
close it and reboot. Then give your pan netwok addapter in your pc or laptop
also a ip address like 192.168.1.2 and subnetmask 255.255.255.0 also you give the adapter a default gateway like 192.168.1.1 and the dns server ip address of your isp (mobile isp). connect with pan network start internet sharing and your up and running :) , it does not matter that you only have usb connection option it will work anyway but disconnect your t830 or t810 from usb. I think it will work also via adhoc wifi with this setup.

here is a list of bugs I found:

critical bugs:
- in settings/buttons ->> some << buttons lost they settings after reboot (example: set Btn5(hold) as OK/Close and reset device...setting is gone)

- FS autolock tool - I thing this tool is unusable in WM6.1 because doesn't work properly - remove it from ROM. (example: turn on wifi, wait for autolock and suspend of device. After this try to wake up device - FS unlock screen appears, but is impossible to unlock it by pressing enter key - black screen is back too quick - you have to reset your device.)

- in programs/T830 tweak tool/phone/Data connection pop-up items - "Disconnect button" future doesn't work. In GPRS connection pop-up window is only time of connection, no possibility to disconnect it manualy...


I hope you fix them in your next release. I will update this list when I found another new one.

I liked the blue numbers in wm5 :( And I also liked that I can get into the phone pad by pressing numbers on the qwerty, (I don't know if blue keyboard means this) :)

Edit: Another problem I noticed: I cant browse the net on the pda via activesync connection (usb). I used this a lot on wm5. Is it a bug in this rom?

Also after soft reset the wifi icon appears randomly. (turned on)

INTERNETSHARING: In Powerbyte's 209 version and in versions with a ported Powerbyte SYS folder I didn't even have a USB entry at Internetsharing. Does anyone know whats the problem?

And, btw, can anybody explain why we are stick to a max size of 46MB? The flash chip is bigger or? Can we maybe change something that the phone accepts bigger mdoc.dios?

Thanks for testing my ROM. I've been using it for the last couple of weeks and indeed it is pretty stable, and after some polishing everything seems to be working fine. I don't miss at all the original WM5 ROM.

So, if someone of you would like to have a quite stable, compact WM6.1 ROM instead of newer and newer buggy versions, often with illusoric gains in performance, I propose a slightly polished version of the ROM from my post #583.
It contains all corections reported on this forum: missing icons, fix of PhoneConfig etc. Also the default WM6.1 theme is corrected (3D upper bar), I included the Shutter Sound for camera (this can be enabled with T830Tweaker) and some other minor fixes. Someone complained that WMP doesn't work, but I couldn't find any problem with it.

As in other versions blue keyboard doesn't work, but after a while I got used to that (and I suggest you to do the same). Also, as before, no videocalls, but this seems to be a common problem of WM6.1 ROMs in other hardware, as well. I don't use them so this doesn't bother me at all.

Hi.

Unzip icons.zip and copy files into Windows directory.
From fix.zip (post #712) I use only ShutterSound (copy to Windows directory). Rest of files i don't used., sorry I don't no, no tested (probably copy to Windows dir).

Another question. In wm5 if you set the start menu bar color to black, it was grey (with UI tweaker for ex.). But there were an option to turn it to black. In wm6, if I set the start menu bar to black (ui tweaker) it's grey too, but it's gradient. Can I make it black? or gradient black? I mean real black :)

I found Htc sim manager, it did the job...now for real :)

Try make new contact (for example John X phone # 555 555 555) in Contacts>New and save it like SIMcontact, and next look at conacts list , do you see this new sim contact?

I use BlackCurves theme, I like black background. Unzip and copy to Windows directory.

Well, more and more rom without details and more bugs, that's pretty bad.
I mean come on guys acubens, lens, ktod, you are doing an excellent Job!!, but imagine a guy that just come on that forum, he must read all 700# to understand and to chose which rom are ok or not (i'm lucky i read this thread since the #1)

@ Lens, your new rom sound pretty good, not tested yet but i will, is the fsc backup included? cause it's a solid tool to prevent reinstalling all third party software.
I actually use the lens&ktod wm6.1 rom and there is only 1 major bug, don't know if i am alone, but the old bug that came with the FSC WM5 vanilla rom
: when someone call you there is 2sec or more before you hear the person. I missed a lot of call with that =(. I fixed it on the wm5 rom with a reg key i found on a website (sry i don't remember the link right now).

Another thing, that could give a good way to solve the blue kb problem:
- Loox T8xx Engineer Menu: Call the number *#**364# (from acubens #1)
Go in ALT Test menu and do an EL Test
EL1 is white KB light
EL2 Blue Keypad light
EL3 White Keypad light

EL1-2-3 work well on WM6.1 rom so it's not a driver issue =)

In the latest Acubens WM6.1 ROM the T830 doesent see one of our providers that works in 1800 band (Cosmote). The other ones like Vodafone or Orange works fine.

U can have real black start and task bar with UI tweaker, like on the picture :)
Just use the settings on the picture. You can see the bars on the picture too :)

1) I'm not sure if I understand well your question - you can get numeric keypad after you press twice FN button, and vice versa - next twice pressing FN resumes the normal state.

2) FSC Keylock should be there. After reboot you should have a small FSC Keylock icon in the right bottom corner of the screen. Just press it to invoke the settings menu and turn on or off key locking. You can also get there via Settings->Personal->Buttons->FSC KeyLock or starting \Windows\KeyLock1.lnk

3) If you use the old ROM version from the post #583 download a few files from the ZIP archive posted in #714, unpack them and place in \Windows directory. They fix a few known bugs. New ROM version from the post #714 contains these files so no such action is necessary.

I'm afraid I can't help you too much because I don't have any experience with localization of ROMs. What I would suggest you is to try the prescription posted by wm6fsc in the post #385 (see the link in the first post). I was using wm6fsc kitchen (see also the post #1) when preparing my version, so the procedure seems to be quite straightforward. Also there were discussions on this forum a while ago on the Spanish and German versions, so you can likely find some hints there.

Thanks for testing my ROM. I've been using it for the last couple of weeks and indeed it is pretty stable, and after some polishing everything seems to be working fine. I don't miss at all the original WM5 ROM.

So, if someone of you would like to have a quite stable, compact WM6.1 ROM instead of newer and newer buggy versions, often with illusoric gains in performance, I propose a slightly polished version of the ROM from my post #583.
It contains all corections reported on this forum: missing icons, fix of PhoneConfig etc. Also the default WM6.1 theme is corrected (3D upper bar), I included the Shutter Sound for camera (this can be enabled with T830Tweaker) and some other minor fixes. Someone complained that WMP doesn't work, but I couldn't find any problem with it.

As in other versions blue keyboard doesn't work, but after a while I got used to that (and I suggest you to do the same). Also, as before, no videocalls, but this seems to be a common problem of WM6.1 ROMs in other hardware, as well. I don't use them so this doesn't bother me at all.

If someone uses the older version and wants to avoid new flashing I enclose the ZIP archive with a few missing files that should fix the problems of PhoneConfig, new default WM6.1 theme (WM6.1.tsk) and Shutter sound. These files should be copied to \Windows directory.

Im using this new version of Lens ROM, with Acubens MMS cabs, but I have a problem with MMS. I'm on T-Mobile Slovakia and I can't send and recieve MMS. My settings are OK, consulted with operator. I tried a lot of versions of Arcsoft MMS, but nothing helps. If I try to send a MMS, it hangs in Outbox. If someone send me an MMS, I recieve only some Message information (from, subject, size...), but not entire message :( Can someone help me?

Confirmed, I have also problem with backlight when device is charged (connected to USB), display backlight is turned off after 1 second....and because is backlight settings menu missing, is not possible to reconfigure this bug... => nice ROM, but not usable.

p.s: I just found that my 4GB SD card is not recognized by this ROM :(

@powerbyte : I've succesfully used all wm6.1 builds but there seems to be some power related bug in BT stack... At least my T830 will get quite warm when bluetooth headset is connected even though there's no active phone call - also battery drainage is *very* fast (4-5 hours and battery is empty). Could there be some power-conservation setting and/or file missing ?

I added schaps tweak utillity i think you like this.
With this utility you can switch keyboard to eng,german and more, take a look @ it. Further you can tweak a lot of settings for performance the way it works for you with your settings and usebility of the set.
Play with it for some day's and let me know what you think and if there are any bugs, as far i can see and tested i am happy with it how it behave and works.
