hello together,

sorry for my bad english, i have flashed my t830 with wm6 rom (powerbyte, WM 6.1 Firmware 2009 Version Beta X) via sd-card method. t830 start whitout problems but i cannot turn on the phone. and then bluetooth: when i want to start BT i got the info "sorry! bluetooth con no longer be used because the license is expired". back to wm5 via sd-card and now the same problems. is there a solution? thanks!!!

Hello everyone!

I have got a serious problem with my T830, when I want to update it from sd card last week update somehow failed and now when i start the device in hangs on and says "previous updade failed, please reflash the image"
When i try to reflash it from sd card it comes to a green line, but when i restart it always says it failed.
And when i try to flash in recovery mode via computer in "new usb mode" it says "fail=4 please retry again".
I try to flash all wm5 and wm6 roms i can find but no succes.
is it ewen possible to save my device or i can yust throw it away.

I had similar problem long time ago. So what I did: I bougth a brand new SD card (no more than 2GB) and I reflashed T830 with it. So the the problem has gone.
After that I reflashed the PDA with WM5 original rom using FS PC software. The PDA became like new.
I think that is good for all people who make reflashes to use the PC software, because it cleans the registry.

Dear All,

I'm one of the happy T830 owners. Actually I was. :(
Yesterday while I talked with my friend on phone, suddenly it started beeping like hell. I told my friend, ok I'll restart my phone, and call you back. After that a strange text appeared on the screen: "Enter update loader . . ."

The phone is freezing there, it's not booting, at the 95% of the tries.
I made so many hard resets, same problem.
I thougth it's maybe some ROM problem, I tried nearly all of them which ones posted here. There's a few times when it's booting, but most of the time it dies with the text above. :(

The other strange part: When I'm able to randomly start the phone, it looks like the up or one of the buttons stuck in, cause e.g. at first setup boot, the software button's (Next or Skip) active focus switching between each other all the time. When I end it, and open the start menu, it's active focus in the menu runing up to down. The same problem in the menus.

I think it's hardware based problem, but I don't know what. There is only a few similar problems on the internet, with the same T830 (e.g. this one: http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=21721&st=110). But there's no english, neither hungarian explanation for the problem or - it's better - for the solution.

If one of you can advise me sg, it would be very nice, or if you can make a "how to disassemble T830" video too can make me really really happy (I stucked how can I get off the front panel - at the upper side. I don't wanna brake it to pieces).

Some months ago I tried to start a Linux kernel on T830 without succes.

I know well Linux and It isn't impossible (altougth is difficoult) start It on a T830.
The main goal must be to know how the I/O lines are used.
For other FSC devices there is some Kernel code that map hardware resources in the right way.

BTW, I haven't much time to dedicate to this project, but If some other users want to try together to make this goal, I'm ready to start :p

Hello all

I'm a new user on this forum(my English is poor). I have "Fail=15,Please retry again!" error for flashing loox t830. I have tried all possible ways to flash my device with the latest firmware 1.12 .but unsuccessful and my device is useless for long time.

I discover a help in forum in internet :

Reffering to the "Error=15, EMP function failed" problem, it seems that the only way to fix it to send it back to service.

The problem comes from the EMP module (Eriksson Mobile Platforms) that is diffrent on some of the T830's.
Some are RED some are BLUE... at least that's the info that the guy from the FSC service told me... whaterver it might mean.. probably the EMP circuit is from a diffrent manufacturer...

If you take a look on the picture with the error, you will see that there below the error message is written "Color is BLUE"

The firmware updates from the Fujistu-Simens website are compatible only with the "Colour is RED" versions.. so that's why it has failed...

At the FSC service the techicians have a diffrent firmware flasher tool, that allows step by step flashing... and of chourse choosing the RED or BLUE EMP circuit compatible firmwares....

Now I'm happy that I have solved my problem, and I have the 1.12 firmware on my T830... :)

I have the same flash problem with the sd card method.

Have you try to flash your T830 with USB and PocketLOOX FlashTool ?:

1-Put your T830 in usb download mode: hold power (red button) + camera button and push reset (under battery), plug usb cable and wait to see "New USB download mode", release power and camera button.

2-launch PocketLOOX FlashTool and wait until the "Recovery mode" step.

3-in the Recovery mode, the tool find your T830 and Upload/flash the ROM.

4-reboot the phone normally, then make and hard reset (factory defaults) -> http://www.hardreset.eu/fujitsu-siemens_pocketloox_t830_hard_reset_soft_reset_en.h tml

For the step 2: you can change the MDOC.DIO into the PocketLOOX FlashTool directory, with the rom you want flash.;)

I actualy use the 33imporT-BetaXfr666 rom (only full french 6.1 rom around). It work pretty well except 1 fondamental thing, the phone don't ring anymore when incoming call, neither vibrate, so imagine how many call i missed =(.

Of course i tried everything about switching, changing, testing ring tone, BT only ringing etc...but nothing to do. Any idea if there is a missing registry setting anywhere to check?

Ty help appreciated!

PS: Ring work well with other rom, so it's not a hardware problem :/

What ROM are you trying to flash ? Powerbyte beta X ?
Reboot without usb cable plugged in ?
Have you try to remove the battery to restart absolutely the phone ?

sorry for this so bugged rom ! lol, i'm a newbie in rom cooking.

Currently my work take me a lot of time. But when i got more spare time, i can rebuild the powerbyte beta X with only French hardware Keyboard driver (and keep the english WM6 interface). with that, i think the phone ringing is ok.

1 - Your access point have a MAC adress filter ? if true add your PDA mac adress in your access point.

2 - In your pda: have you tried to change the data encrytion (TKIP or AES)? -> Wireless manager > menu > WLAN settings > select you access point > Menu > edit > next > Authentification : WPA-PSK Data encryption : AES or TKIP.

That normal, ActiveSync on your pc doesn't detect your pda, because it failed to restart windows mobile OS. don't worry this message is useless, only information on the pda screen is important. ;)

- Only im quite silly and dont understande the kitchen stuff (I have been trying several hours...). It would be great to have the spanish keyboard driver working, but I dont manage... Is int there an easyer way like copying the 3 dlls to windows using resco explorer and so? Has anyone cooked his version with spanish keyboard? if so, could you please be so kind to uploaded somewhere?

- Another thing: I used to use a taskbar that would close the programs when I pressed the "x" botton. Is there something similar for this version of windows mobile?

I have a problem. Does QuickGPS work with FSC T830 or not? Because I cannot seem to get it working. Does FSC T830 meet HARDWARE requirements for using QuickGPS?

If it does work with T830, then please - post a method how do you use it. It does download and stuff, but connection between satellites isn't changed - it still searches for satellites for 5-20 minutes (only if few days between TomTom usage).

I'd really like to get QuickGPS working - I'm using GPRS anyway for reading e-mails and news and stuff.

Therefore the problem is not the driver but the registry.

Who can advice how to activate front camera in original WM 5? Is far as I understand, the problem is in drivers and/or registry. Has anybody tried to fix this problem? This cam is very good for progs like Web Camera Plus. Why still WM5? I am totally satisfied with it and use SPB Shell 3.5 instead of replacing WM5 with something else, no bugs but front camera. Please help.

Both cameras WORK with the drivers "camera.dll" und "camera1.dll"

I've tested it with VIO (software for motion recognition) and "Webcamera pro" (pocketpc as Webcam for Pc).

The preinstalled "Pictures&Videos" and those both programs first of all show the camera in the back.

If you exchange some registry keys the behaviour changes.
Search for "\HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\CameraDriver resp. CameraDriver1" and exchange the content of "Dll"-Eintrag (camera.dll resp. camera1.dll) and restartet the t830.
Now the other camera shows up.



Conclusion:
The kernel and both drivers WORK together with the cameras.

The problems are exclusively in the Registry.


Is there anybody who would like to help me to find the correct settings?
I want to compare the registry with the old one (WM5) and the registries of other und WM6.1-pocketpc.

Does anybody have the relevant parts of such registries?

If during flashing you got "Error=15, EMP function failed" then you have to go to service, see

Anyway it seems it's the service for you.
One supid question: does anything happen when you try to start it up (screen light, etc)? If not maybe the battery is totally dead?

In my opinion you have mised the first and very important step before flash a FSC T8xx device. (might be this is due to your "BLUE" type of EMP, I don't know)
This is the mandatory upgrade with the official update of WM5.2.
After this done, then you can proceed with any unofficial flashing, like the Beta X, which I am using since more than 10 months without any major issue. Ony one time additional reflash for all the time of using. All flashing made with SDCard method.

Hi everybody,
I successfully flashed my T830 with the BetaX and GPS firmware 3.5. All runs great. Now I tested some GPS Fix Software:

1) The one from N560, it installed correctly and downloaded GPS data, but afterwards I couldn´t get GPS Locator working anymore. The tool can´t be uninstalled, so I did a hard reset.

2) SeaSGEE, which seems to run perfectly.

I made some tests (Battery out and in again) to see if I get a faster GPS fix now. But I don´t see any difference. A Fix takes about 30-60 sec. either with or without use of GPS Fix software.

Is there anything special to obey when using SeaSGEE?

@mohamad: I tried flashing on Win7, that did not work out. For some reason the recovery mode of the FSC Flashtool just worked on WinXP in combination with Active Sync.

I've read this whole thread (and others), know where to find wm6.1 betaX
but am just afraid of killing my T830 by doing some stupid mistake (my BQS-bodycount is seven:o)
Is there a short, clear how-to for updating from wm5 to 6.1 (I've done the last fsc-firmware-update), german language preferred?
Do i need to make a change by using hexeditor for flashing betaX to my T830/GER?

I can't do that. I installed Ubuntu, compiled the kernel, but somehow I can't do something like crosscompile (last step, it will make zImage), I'm not a programmer, I see linux first time, so it is possible, that I can't do that. Sorry for bad news.
