Many tnx to cmonex and sp3dev for helping me!
Many tnx to tadzio,bepe,misar,and all other who develop some really useful and wonderful tools.

This is the first BETA, only for development and testing!!
NO WARRANTY ON IT!!!
Maybe that is not a fully working rom but developers can start working on it.
Please give me a feedback about it.

Some Tips:

- DON'T TRY TO REMOVE LOOXStore hidden partition or you can have a bigger problem!!
- Don't exceed the total mdoc.dio size of 46.137.344 bytes or you have to rebuild and reflash a smaller rom
- Loox T8xx Engineer Menu: Call the number *#**364#

Show on the FTP under upload, have make test with T830, the best way to make a wm6 rom for T830 is the Palm Treo 750 V rom ......... ( 240x240 Diplay) .
I can Edit the wm5 rom, with wm6 have many problems to porting . Im a newbe

Download the orginal Rom Update from the FSC Website, and Install on your PC c:\fsc.tmp
Download the Tools from FTP and testing with my scripts and the tools c:\FSC-T8xx

my test with tools set Phase I .....Phase III can help the problem to break.

what you mean with phase 1,phase2,phase??....?
You can extract treo rom with nbhtools and imgfs tools but the problem is to build xip for t830.
I'm searching someone with time to spent for try xip porting.
t830 is msflash50 rom, can be extracted with msflshdump.

This is not a complete rom for your T8xx.

I have search a way to edit the t8xx orginal rom with many tools and scribts from the web. Have edit the scribts from other Kitchen's. Phase I to III is a different way on the search of the best way.

Phase I:
- Rom dumpen
- new tools bring insite a rom
- Flash back to T830 with the orginal Flash tool
( replease mdoc.dio on C:\fsc.tmp\PocketLOOX8xx\FlashUpdateV811 with the new mdoc.dio)
- the other way Mdoc.dio via SD Card you can flash

Phase II:
- Rom Dumpen
- and make a OEM and SYS Folder for best Edit comfort

Phase III:
- Rom Dumpen ( Other way ) MSFLASHTOOL
- cut the mdoc.dio for Xip edit test ....the next step is is my problem

( my work...7day in the week at the moment, i`m driving at all points to germany east , west ,north..... minimum 3000 km at the week)

have you delete the 700v driver from the 700v rom? The 700 v have a other CPU and Display drivers insite ......have delete the help files from image for a little rom site ?The flash have a problem bigger ca. 46 mb mdoc.Dio files.
in my test's freesing the rom to start ..... freezing or stop your booting ?? can you analyse the boot break with a wm6 emulation

It will be magnificent. What languages I am planned to be supported? English?
On my device the keyboard Russian where to find a label with English letters... As only Russian letters - it is inconvenient...

wm6 latest version, probabily from hermes device.
Language WWE,no additional software all the people that have time can create our custom rom :-)
At the moment i've only little problem with keyboard but i'm working on it.
Stay tuned....

When you test your own cooked wm6 roms on the t8x0 and the flash fails because of wrong drivers or missing files, are you able to flash another *official* rom?
or is the little gui lost?

yes it's possible.
use the recovery method mentioned in looxflasher and you can upload a new official rom.
I've also tested a wrong uploader partition and reflashed with method like atom briked device.

Just a (maybe stupid) question:

you can extract rom from MDOC.DIO with imgfstools for examples.
imgfsfromnb mdoc.dio imgfs.bin
imgfstodump imgfs.bin
and you can find the original wm5 from fsc
looxflasher = PocketLOOX8xxFlashTool.exe you can find it in the original fsc rom.

Now I need to looking for some tools/instruction about to manipulate the image :confused:

wm6fsc, with new wm6 there is a way to use SDHC ? It's possible to add a driver or this is an hardware issue ?

I'm ready to support you to create the new wm6 image, If there si a way to help you please ask me.

wait some days and i release a beta. I've little problem with a full relocated rom ( drivers don't work correctly ).
shdc can be used, it's olny a driver problem. i've never tryed with sd larger then 2gb, but probabily with never sdhc driver you can use sd > 2gb.
i'm also working to enlarge rom available space ( looxstore don't need to exist probabily!) then 5 mb added in rom available space.
For instruction look in forum for xip porting, rom kitchen and someting similar.

The T830 can use up to 4Gb SD. I've bought one SD NOT HC and works, very fine.

I don't have LooxStore on My device (i've got on my older 720) !!! It's hidden or it's possible to use only on 810 ?

I've found it and I've tried to change the registry label:
MountHidden=1 to MountHidden=0 then I've made a soft reset, but I can't see LooxStore again (on Standard Image WM5).
There is a way to enable this storage area without reflash the unit using a modified rom ?
Maybe a good place to save important data....

yes it's accessible using total commander using "\LOOXStore\" path, but it's accessible in read only!!!

My mistake was use of double "\" instead of single.

For flashing the rom you can use official flash tools,rename the original mdoc.dio to mdoc.dio.old and then copy the beta mdoc.dio in folder where flashtool is located and start flashing.But this is a beta for developing,don't expect that is fully working!You can try it,say me where you find same error and then reflsh the original rom simply by delete the beta mdoc.dio and rename the .old to mdoc.dio,then reflash it.
For speed up the flash process you can edit os.lst (if i remember correctly) and remove all the file except mdoc.dio.I can post more detail on monday. Good test.

My t830 is wm 06 now :D
I'm testing it for 10-15 minuts and It is stable :D
It looks beautyfull :)
I'M waiting for next relase (maybe you can make more free ram ? )

Can you explain me why some programs after exid do not free ram ?
like in this picture there is only 3.78MB of free ram but only active sync is running?

I did a bit of fixing/customization work. Maybe someone will find it useful.

Things done:

fixed default background
fixed dialer skin
fixed windows media player
removed FSC crap
fixed keyboard shortcuts
disabled windows lock on standby (for S2U2)
removed remains of JBlend

I wanted to place some shortcuts for MS Office into the Programs folder but somehow it doesn't work. Maybe somebody can help.

Right now Im after second instaler with fixes, but camera button is still missing. Im also from poland & i dont have problem with memory misssing :) like zachwiej
The bigest improvement for me is WP2 without external programs ! :)

Now i can use mp3 sounds for sms notification ! :)

there is some problem with wireless manager (its freezy sometimes) and phone config if I choose manual setings -its freezy always.

I didnt know to do a hard reset ;] When I do it the problems of lack of ram have ben fixed :D
I'didnt have outer problems (WPM skin and dialer skin) only lack of ram :D
Can I backup my phone now (with first 06 and new programs) and restore it when I flash the newsest rom ?

If you change nothing actual pagepool it's 8mb. In the original rom it's 7mb.

Depend on what software you use for backup.
You can't restore the "original" wm6 but only your data and for some backup software the instlled program.

You can create your own rom with full german support (keyboard and language) using a guide for change the MUI.
It's a simple file replace and for keyboard a registry key.

I can't flash the wm6beta. :(
I've installed original flash tool, renamed the mdoc.dio and copied wm6beta mdoc.dio file.
During flash the program break with message: Impossible to flash device....try to reset then retry.

I'm using Active synv 4.2.0 Italian and My rom is ITA.
In a screen during upgrade the software make a compare from installed rom and upgraded, but I can see the same version ???

What's my mistake ?

tea4two and SteelDagon your rom probably is from a different language then English so you can proceed like this:

1) Attack mini usb to Your device (no cradle) only the USB cable.

2) Hold down power + photo button and while holding push reset and new USB download mode will appear.

3) Execute the FS update, it will say that couldn't find the phone but when you click next it will start in recovery mode and will flash your device with your choosen firmware.

First of all, thank you VERY much, guys, for all the work you've been doing to make our devices more reliable :)

I tried Core_Z's ROM and discovered GPRS connection problem - it simply doesn't connect to it (I even tried to go Settings - Connections and manually select Connect by long-tapping on the connection)

You not only made it possible, but also easy.

One question, that I have been investigating without luck. ¿Is it possible to install more Bluetooth Services to the new WM6? and if someone knows where I'll sincerely appreciate any guidance.

I used to use many BT devices (most of all audio headset) and now everytime I try to pair it WM6 repeats "service not installed", searched Microsoft, this and other forums.

And well, you definetelly seem to be the one that know all answers

Another bug noticed:
ActiveSync doesn't want to set up the partnership with the device. It remains in Guest mode. And Activesync internet pass-through doesn't work.

in the WM5 version in the bottom taskbar i haved the menu Phone Instead Calendar in the WM6 version.

Is there possible to change that? if yes how i have to proceed.

Sorry but im a not a rom developer i know nothing about the rom cooking. But i find personnally the Phone option is more useful than the calendar in the bottom taskbar.

@all do a hard reset after flashing before complaining about errors (or try fixing them yourself :) )

reminders are working very well - no freezes here

maybe somebody else can fix MMS and videophoning since I have no way of testing these.

Thanks to all cooks for the hope of a perfect T830.
I test the new image for two days and I am already excited.
GPS with TT6.2, WLAN and BT, works very well. All buttons and bottom taskbar can be "SpbShell" arbitrarily assign. The device works quickly and reliably, except for a freeze in wiraless manager.

First, I'd like to thx everyone, who works and tests on new WM for our devices! Great job!

I'm testing latest release for 2 days, and I've found one more problem (in my device): the turn off (red headphone) button doesn't turn off the device. I wonder if it turns on the T830 :D

I have also a question, if is it possible to create the "Fn" indication icon not only on main Today screen, but also in other applications, for example in contacts or notes? It would be very useful with any text edition...

its not a problem - that was SPECIALLY removed with all FS craps !:) U can use spb phone suite or similar to have OFF button on today screen

I am amazed! You made what I thought was impossible

After 1h of testing, I successfully checked that my transcend 8GB SDHC class 6 card work well on the T830. It shows 7686.5GiB which are exactly the 8059879424 bytes shown on my PC.
[16GB not tested yet but the T830 joins HTC Universal/Advantage and HTC Sirius as the only UMTS phone likely capable of supporting such a size!]

WLAN seems ok.
Voice call seems ok.
TT6.000 w/ GPS ok (TT6.002 or 003 seems to fail.)
Corecodec ok.
USB host ok.

Bluetooth pairs but then fails to connect with A2DP and keyboard.
Camera link is broken.

Camera can be accesed using "Pictures & Video" (many resolutions and fx), in fact I have it linked to the Camera button (at the left side)
Bluetooth pairing is still not working fine, but I know thay are triying to solve it.

Thanks for the tip.
Actually, I made a hard reset and that solved many issues. TT 6.003 is now working fine w/ port COM3/9600kbps for HW and and COM6/9600kbps for SW.
The camera is working fine too.

Maybe it is because I upgraded from a french ROM but my GPRS and MMS connections do not seem to work.

My T830 has a same thing.
I live in Japan and I use NTT DoCoMo 3G Operators, and GPRS not work.:(
(Can't Connect GPRS)
I have no another Operator's SIM, therefore I can't test anymore.

I was tried back to WM5 ROM, no errors found on T830 display.:)
Original "MDOC.DIO" is download from the "orginal Rom Update" on the FSC Website.

And I'm not a MAC user. Sorry.;)

Hi! Regarding GPS I only used it with Google Maps, at the beginning it did not recornize it, using the Gmaps menu I changed the GPS port to 6 (eventually try the other ones) and it worked. Seems that by default there is a startup connection to the GPS port, but that must be setted by FSC in previouws WM versions.

I used to use the T830 with a Sony Bluetooth headset hbh-970.
Since the upgrade to wm6 ons of the Bluetooth services (High Quality Audio) is not appearing listed, and so, I can not listen to music.

¿Any idea on how to get + services for the Bluetooth? :confused:
As you can see its not a matter of life/dead, but I'll appreciate any idea. :D

About gprs connection problems, I've seen that is the most common problem in the wm5 to 6 migration. In an other discussion I've found something about:

they suggest to manually configure to the band settings in settings->phone->band. I don't know if this is applicable to our device...

Hi,
you've to download the flash update from FSC site (eg:PL8xxFlashUpdateP22452-P919-V812_WWE.exe) .
Install on your xp os pc.
Find the installation folder and rename the MDOC.DIO to MDOC.DIO.ORIGINAL
Then place the new wm6 flash bin (from WM6T830BETA.rar) in the folder and proceed with the FSC flash update tool.

1) Copy mdoc.dio into flash card
2) Insert flash card into T830
3) Press and hold
camera button + red button + reset button simultaneusly
Flash update screen will appear
4) Wait 1-2 minutes (until device says "...done")
5) Hard reset T830 (press and hold red button +
reset button, then select "factory default")

I've not the kitchen from CoreZ here but, I think is possible to copy the dll and then manually set the registry copying from the wm5 register before to rebuild the rom. Do you can try ? An more, about the MMS failure, I think it may depends from the same bug. It seem important that the network connection with wlan and bt is ok. May be a driver or configuration problem ?

following your "lobotomy" strategy and looking and comparing the Core_Z kitchen whit another hw kitchen (the dOUbleOfour_Wiz_Dev_5.2.1933v2WWE for Wizard) around the asyncmac.dll looking the
OEM\OEMDrivers\a8686a75-290c-42db-9203-548c9cb17e08.rgu
register settings I've found a connection between the dll and netmui.dll. Since the dll is not present in the CoreZ kitchen I suppose that is not present in the rom too.
Comparing the two, I 've found these differences:
CoreZ kit. -
in the folder SYS\OS\netmui.dll the file netmui.dll is not present.

in the folder SYS\Base_Lang_0409\netmui.dll.0409.mui
the file netmui.dll.0409.mui is not present

dOUbleOfour kit -
in the folder SYS\OS\netmui.dll the file netmui.dll IS PRESENT.

n the folder SYS\Base_Lang_0409\netmui.dll.0409.mui
the file netmui.dll.0409.mui IS PRESENT

I hope this can help in the investigation around gprs bug...

quick feedback.

i downloaded and flash with rom on first post and here are my impressions.

first of all i never saw a device so easy to flash.
embedded toll to flash from sd, thats fantastic.

ok , all is working, except:

gprs, 3g data connexions, seems it can't find/dial .
tried to change band, automatic/manual network, same issue.

most annoying pb for me was the keypad. digit appears to be white on white, so its impossible to check what number you've pressed. very annoying.
photos are working ok.
wifi works fine.
gps works with r66 and tomtom.

tried to play arround with registry to change physical keyboard layout but i finisehed to stuck all physical keys, even side buttons and phone call buttons.

i finally flashed back to original rom as i'm using the built-in kb with french layout and the keypad pb is important for me.

also saw several time that today screen was not refreshing well, again a pb white on white.
obliged to play with themes to have it back.

wonderfull work done here for our beloved t830.

I've tried to flash my device (Italian WM5 ROM using SD flash) with the ROM on the first post of this thread and I've found some issue.

1 - The phone doesn't works. If i press the phone button I see only the contacts list and the top of screen is blank (about 1 thumb)
2 - It's impossible to compose a number. Pressing the number keys the phone doesn't start.
3 - Pressing Contact button (top-right) don't start Contact application. Recall Contact application from Start menù doesn't work too. The only way is to press the phone button, but the srceen is dirty.
4 - Links to message and calendar applications are broken.
5 - The time to catch the phone operator is very high, more then 30 seconds.
6 - GPS locator don't switch on the GPS (maybe a my configration error)

Goods:
1 - Working speed it's very impressive :eek:
2 - Latest applications
3 - Downgrade it's very easy and works fine. FSC Backup is GREAT!!!

Guys, help me out with the following:
since FSC made the keyboard layouts integrated into the driver in T830 (no way to apply standard Windows fixes for it), my idea was to use the Keybddr.dll from the another language ROM with my device to enable my local layout. But if I dump the ROM, replace Keybddr.dll folder with the one from my language ROM, then flash it to the device, the keyboard doesn't function at all.
Please advice how to manage it to work with the driver from another language ROM. Should I add some other files or options to the ROM as well?

The CoreZ release is good. now i can see the dial-thing... =) but The Camera shortcut links to My Pictures not to the Camera...then you have to select camer. should get fixed...

How do I unpack the mdoc.dio.part* ?

EDIT: A little beginners guide for FSC cooking would be very very nice. I spent now some houres to get started, but all tutorials are for other devices, use other filenames and oder tools. :(

Maybe someone can write some lines about how to split the mdoc.dio.part* f.e. from a german WM5 mdoc.dio. And maybe some lines about how to modify the packages.

To work better with this DUMP directory use the excellent package tool from bepe:

Can I brick the device? I thought the bootloader wont be touched?

After 1h of testing, I successfully checked that my transcend 8GB SDHC class 6 card work well on the T830. It shows 7686.5GiB which are exactly the 8059879424 bytes shown on my PC.
[16GB not tested yet but the T830 joins HTC Universal/Advantage and HTC Sirius as the only UMTS phone likely capable of supporting such a size!]

I wanted more than 2GB, too. So I purchased a 4GB SLC Non-SDHC Transcend 150x. That didnt worked, as soon as I was over the 2GB area. Copying files on the T830 got "reader doesnt work" errors. OK, so it looks like my loox has a wrap around problem that files over 2GB overwrite the files under 2GB.

Well, then I found this thread, and thougt, nice, WM6 can SDHC. Do I changed the card to a Extrememory 8GB SDHC Class 6. And what? WM6 didnt even recognize the card. :(

With the sdhc-driver-x500.zip driver, the SDHC card is recognized in WM5 and WM6, but its slow and it only recognizes 4 of 8 GB.

Well, im really depressed now. 20h testing, no good result.

Is there a chance that the WM6 mod will get a SDHC driver that works in all T830's? Or has anyone a idea, what is the problem at my T830?

F-S reads SD card until 2GB capacity. What is above 2GB, may not be readable.

I've got a Transcend 4 Gb NOT HC SD Card that works fine.
SDHC doesn't works (with standard WM5 OS).
ATTENTION 4Gb SD (not HC) are NON STANDARD capacity (standard support up 2 Gb cards) so it's possible that T830 isn't compatible with all 4 Gb CARD.

Maybe some possibilities to use an SDHC driver with WM6 that overcome this limit.

Hi,

my T830 runs a 4GB SDHC from Panasonic and two 4 GB non-SDHC from HAMA and A-Data. I use the SDHC patch from X500. Testings showed that SDHC is much faster in T830 than with the standard SDs (testing limited to the ones above).

I'm really looking forward to the next WM6 ROM Release!

Decompressing the WM5 ROM there is an SDHC.dll, so the WM5 maybe support SDHC cards.

But I think that this driver is preliminar, so doesn't work.

The WM6 has an update SDHC driver ?

I flash today my fs and it work great.
speed of t 830 is great.
Gps work with oncourse nav.
Ilauncher 3.1 work normaly.
Just to fix this little bugs with showing phone when
press number, and creating mms.

yes gprs still not working.
camera button still not working, but i assigned
camera button for pictures and videos.
And answering on phone is much quicker then
before (i have 2 sec. delay).
But i will stay on wm6 because it is much quicker
then wm5. :)

and one another issue of new wm6. I can not do activesync synchro with PC via bluetooth. Act.Sync see some device, but doesn´t recognise it for sychronising. With wm5 works fine. But I´m not sure, if is this problem of my hands and head or problem of new wm6.

To get what you want, you have to replace the following dll:

Keybddr.dll
keybdsip.dll
kbdhid.dll

And then you have your keyboard layout original on your new rom.

pt_t830, whenever I replace these files, I recieve the device with not functioning keyboard. I extract these files from my local ROM DUMP, then DUMP WWE ROM, put my files into it and create the ROM.
Any ideas on fixing it?

Hi,
I`ve installed it from Core_Z (http://rapidshare.com/files/88599247/romwm6.7z.html).
I`ve tested it and:
- no memory problem,

- Mms cannot be created (wizard for it not shows but the bottom buttons change so maybe it is a problem with showing this MMS creation wizard)

- Internet works by WiFi but doesn`t by UMTS/GPRS

- Video Call (after hard reset which I made after flashing) started connection with my own number and asked me to anwer video call but a second later it hangs up as we all know that we cannot connect with own number but after it I`ve made another video call but that time it showed up transfer failed...

- bad looking icons in phone

- most shortcuts are deleted i think that this option should be left to the user who will decide which links are needed which are useless

- no FSC profiles ! i used it for managing power and fly mode

- no FSC backup i know that there`re many other programs but i used to original

- where is the FSC lock i know that this things most users don`t like but for me are useful

- no shortcut for camera because the shortcut in registry goes to "windows\appbuttons\camera.lnk" which doesn`t exists ;) so i created it with value "40#:MSCAMERA?shellres.dll,-8263" from original lnk from wm5 but it still doesn`t working saying the file"':MSCAMERA' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found...";/ arghhh so i think there`s a camera file called different than camera file in wm5 but today i can`t be arsed ;)

- in registry i think is a big mess ex. HTC key for camera? i know that FSC doesn`t support the POI and GPS position for pictures

- problem with A2DP cannot connect a Stereo Handset - SOLVED ;D
go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Drivers \ BuiltIn \ wavedev] copy all values without advanced settings and microphone keys to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Drivers \ BuiltIn \ Bta2dpsnd] overwrite all after that (in the same key "bta2dpsnd") in "Dll" value you have to change the string "wavedev.dll" to "btcedrivers.dll" this solution i`ve made when i was installing a SRS WOW HD drivers on WM5 and other solution didn`t work.

SOLUTION FOR SRS DRIVER ON WM5
cause WM5 doesn`t have the BTa2dpsnd key so in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Drivers \ BuiltIn \ wavedev] after installing SRS driver called the "old driver" as a "wavedrv.dll" but it should be called as a "btcedrivers.dll".

SOLUTION FOR SRS DRIVER ON WM6
after installing SRS driver you have to rename the string "Dll" to "OldDriver" and copy from [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Drivers \ BuiltIn \ wavedev] to this key the string called "Dll" or create this in "Bt2adpsnd" with value "WOWHD_ARM_WCE_PPC2005_Driver.dll"
don`t forget to do SR and that`s all about A2DP with/without SRS driver

I do not know what to say, I think that Your procedure was correct! At least it work´s for me, i have a English ROM with a Spanish keyboard.

6. Under Messanging menu you will see MMS2 folder and now creating MMS should work.

Tested on FSPL T830 with WM6 Core_Z beta software

Of course not! Like I said it is only fixing problem with staring MMS application.

Btw. I'm thinking if those drivers for gprs connection inside cooked wm6 are ok. Maybe they are somehow omitted from installation script? or could be that even not existing there?

- removed FSC stuff again
- removed other apps i don't use
- added optional OEM Apps:

Adobe Reader
Flash Lite Player
GSFinder
Pocket RAR
psShutXP
TodayAgenda
WM5torage

- Keyboard language selectable (ger/eng) by copying everything from keyboard-drivers\xxx-driver directly into the main dir (eng is default)

Building:

Split.bat
Build.bat
select apps and press play
close app
do reloc
close app
flash

Core_Z, what do you mean by saying "FSC stuff"? Did you remove everything that was provided by Fujitsu-Siemens? Including FSC Backup, FSC Profiles (IMHO very useful...)

And what are the "other apps you don't use?" Can you make a list? I just wanna know what I'm about to install.

And one more request: could you please upload beta2 and Core_Z's release somewhere else than rapidshare? I'm connected to my university's network and it's impossible to download files instantly, without waiting for the download ticket. Usually I have to wait more than an hour and it's really annoying.

removed apps: Navigator, QuickGPS (I use TGPS), TotalCommander and all apps that start with FSC since I don't have any use for them (SPB Backup works better than FSC Backup and there are many apps out there better than FSC Profiles)

Procedure with german keyboard layout doesn't work. I just copied them into the directory, did the mentioned steps and then flashed the .dio file from flashtool folder to sd card and used the bootloader to update.

hmmm to finish this battle what`s better what`s not i have an idea: let do a clean rom for wm6 without FSC stuff, SRS(yes it causes problem with waking up from standby),TC, Network wizard(awful 3G icon and not necessary for me because i`ve got PLAY), and other stuff which were added by modders...only clean rom with working internet (at last ;) it works on beta 2) with standard drivers for sound but working all I want to say create a simple rom without fireworks and if there be a clean rom, distribute yours cooked roms;)

SRS works only when it is installed version 1.21 and at the same time 1.2.8 then there`s no problems with standby...I have to find the values which changes...maybe it`s the driver?

Upgraded my t830 ,works great ,only one thing is not working.
When I press right green phone button it does not show phone keyboard neither does the numerical part of mechanical keyboard work there.
You must first press Keypad and then only touch screen works.
Hard keyboard with numbers still does not work only letters for phonebook are there.

I went through all the steps in order to get the German Keyboard. I even reflashed with WM5 before flashing this ROM for second time. I did it with WinXP. Once direct USB and once through SD-Card Flash. I dont get the Hardware Keyboard to work at all. What could it be?

I flashed my device using "Windows Mobile 6 on Pocket Loox T830" tutorial. I used the second method. I copied Beta2 rom into the root of SD card and I held power and photo button and pressed the reset button on the back. When I saw the programming was done and the progress bar turned green I made a soft reset. Then I saw the well-known screen with arctic wallpaper and that's it. Nothing happens. Any clues? Please...

And I also tried to downgrade but when I try, nothing happens - only arctic wallpaper and that's it...

Hard reset doesn't work either. I get the list of possible options: clean registry, factory defaults and skip and whichever I choose I still see only the arctic wallpaper and nothing comes up on the screen...

Now I've downgraded to WM5. Once the process has been completed I made a soft reset and nothing came up. Maybe I have to wait longer? And when I choose to restore factory settings the it seems that nothing happens there...

fedey if problem occurs next time, do the HR.I have the same problem after any flashing from flash card...

in beta 2 there`s installed SRS WOW driver... at last i solved the problem which causes this driver (problem with waking up from standby mode with BT on) in the attachment there is modified installer of SRS WOW driver with added certificates for WM6 (on standard installer there`s other certificates and key values which don`t work with wm6) uff all day I spend on it but it was worth of ;)

another problem....shit... when you stop music on BT handset in Core player and you have turning off device if not used for ex 1 min the T830 sometimes it freezes and it cannot stand up from standby ;) (media player doesn`t provide this problem) (but i have to check it for longer on WM, CORE and other player)

now I`ve checked that Internet and MMS works very well nice work;) so now we can say that`s closer to final version
but I still want clean rom;)

another fixed problem : when you press the green button you see contacts and then you have to click keypad...
the solution: you have to change the entry in the registry: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\CONTROLPANEL\PHONE\] KeypadstateOnLaunch from 1 to 0
from you when you press the green button you`ll see the keypad

Flashing from sd is a bit buggy. I had problems with that too. So please use fsc's util for flashing.

EDIT: nice bobson4 i'll put it into next release which I'll upload in a few mins

It happend to me also twice.
When you see reset to factory defaults press middle button twice or once more after that.
it worked twice for me.

WM6 works nice, however, there are few things that bother me:

* there is no newmail.exe - for me very useful - when I wanted to send a text message I just held the messaging button and I had "new sms" window
* when I want to dial a number and press the keypad it turns blue, however, instead of dialing the number the contacts are being searched. I have to press FN key twice to switch num lock on to dial a number.

More info soon, that's my third hour of testing.

I consider to buy Loox T810 (the price is very acceptable) and because I am new in PDA world I need help with some questions:

1. could you please verify compatibility of T810 and your WM6 ROMs?

2. what real advantages does WM6 offer against WM5?

3. what are the weaknesses of this smartphone? Does it have any failings which significantly reduce its functionality? (because of very low price...)

4. I want to use it as a phone, GPS navigation (IGO,TomTom), Internet communicator - Mobile Opera, Mobile Skype, ICQ/Jabber, E-mail reader, Book reader (pdf,txt) and as Office documents reader + diary - business scheduler (synchronisation with outlook/ms exchange). Maybe as a MP3 player.
I don't want to use it as a movie player, so I think display 240x240 is enough for it. This is a reason why I prefer querty keyboard against big display.

I think the ringtones volume is very low, how can i increase it ? It was better on WM5 i think, i've put all to max volume and still not as before, anyone else have this problem ?

WM6 je rychlejsi a stabilnejsi (mene restartu nez u WM5). U tehle neoriginalni jsou ale problemy s BT, GPRS, MMS. Takze jestli chces surfovat, nedoporucuji, zustan u WM5. Sam mam T810 a jsem s ni spokojeny. Horsi u tohohle typu displeje je, ze pokud si chces nainstalovat aplikace, vetsina je na rozmer 240x320 a na ctvercovem LCD budes mit usekly spodek. Jako mp3 prehravac, navigace a surfovaci engina je T810 prima. Jestli budu menit, tak az prijde fakt nejaka bomba. Zkousel jsem synchro s Linuxem Ubuntu, ale neuspel jsem. Finally, does almost everything, and I can install
German keyboard layout that makes joy.:)

Since the keyboard has worked so well, I wanted the whole rom to translate those wise
And I just did the German treo rom loaded and wanted to unpack, but the program did not work viewimgfs.exe
I came nowhere.

Now I want to ask about whether this would work before I continue to try.

The problem with waking up from stdby appeared after installing bobson's patch. BT was off. I tried resetting factory defaults - didn't help. I flashed the rom again with Core_Z's image. Now it wakes up when BT is on and off.

another problems solved:

awful 3G icon:
i`ve analyzed that in first version of cooked rom there`s normal icon...so i start to looking for dll causing this...and i`ve found: the 3gicon.dll was removed from next versions..don`t know why.

creating new tex message after holding the message button:
in this case sb removed (or it wasn`t there in wm6 rom) the newmail.exe so only it has to be copied from original wm5 rom to new wm6

entries for both are in registry so there`s no need to add it do default.hv and user.hv

in attachment there is file with 3gicon and newmail and rgu file

and my advice for all who flash from SD card do it twice... one after another because at once there can be problems with files... this method was borrowed from flashing Motorola A1000;) (there sometimes was problem with missing files which were in flash rom but were absent in rom in phone... so we did the second flash which updated these files so i think some problems which we got with this rom is causes by SD flashing so it`s better to flash it twice or of course by original tool form FSC)

as fedey wrote SRS problem still exists but on my FSC looks like everything is OK

However I've got a few problems:

psShutXP works, except for shutdown function (hmm sth. is different on T830)
XCPUScalar doesn't add entries into startup (icons don't appear on soft reset)

fedey you wrote before that you have problem with standby after installing my patch... my patch is in two of three releases Core_Z rom;) or maybe you installed the first cooked rom... Which rom have you installed? and look at the setting is there SRS WOW settings?

added adobe reader
added SRS WOW
added Today Agenda
no patches added which were developed before this rom (new mail, 3gicon)
it is the same as Core_Z but with added some programs...or maybe I`m wrong...

for now it`s all because i`ve returned to the closest to be clean rom cooked by Core_Z (second update with full option.xml) because I don`t like some stuff and I don`t like when something has to be in but for now Powerbyte rom seems to be stable, so now we have some alternatives;)

in XCPUScalar shoutdown button is use to standby mode, autorun, minimize, and saving settings at startup works on Powerbyte Rom maybe it only depends on ver of XCPUScalar. In powerbyte it`s 3.03.(all options marked)
